If you care about the children, build the wall

The NY Times breathlessly fired off another misleading headline the other day:

8-Year-Old Migrant Child From Guatemala Dies in U.S. Custody

An 8-year-old boy from Guatemala died in United States custody early Christmas Day, the second death of a child in detention at the southwest border in less than three weeks, raising questions about the ability of federal agents running the crowded migrant border facilities to care for those who fall ill.

In “United State custody.”

When a perpetrator is shot at the scene of a crime and expires either at the scene or in the hospital, it is not reported that “He died in the custody of the doctors” or “He died in the custody of the hospital.”

No, it is written in such a way as to clearly assign fault to the US, just as was done previously.

The boy, who has not been named, died just after midnight on Tuesday at a hospital in Alamogordo, N.M., where he and his father had been taken after a Border Patrol agent saw what appeared to be signs of sickness, according to United States Customs and Border Protection. His death follows that of a 7-year-old girl from the same country while also in the custody of the Border Patrol.

Not knowing the details did not hamper the liberal media’s attempts to blame the CBP:

Much about the circumstances of the boy’s death remains unknown. It is not clear whether his condition was attributable to the care he received in the facilities, the result of an arduous journey, or some combination of the two.

Let us be clear- the child was in the custody of his father and his father made some bad decisions:

The father of the Guatemalan child who died Christmas Eve denied further medical treatment from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents after the child vomited following an initial examination from doctors, a spokesman from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said on a call to reporters Wednesday.

Government officials provided further details, including the startling disclosure of the father’s behavior, regarding the timeline of the child’s deteriorating condition. According to officials, the 8-year-old boy, Felipe Gomez Alonzo, was given multiple medical examinations by doctors before being released with prescription medications.

Which is likely why, without being able to pin blame directly on the CBP and Trump, the liberal media has lost interest in the story.

The real story here is that the blame for the death of this child belongs exactly where the blame belongs for the death of the previous child.

With the parents.

They drag these children into terrible situations- into arid areas in which they do everything to avoid detection and capture. They violate the law and put their children in danger. This is possible because there is no wall, no solid structure to dissuade them from violating our borders.

Do walls work? Prisons find them effective

Barack Obama thinks they work

Of course they work. Israel built a fence around its Southern border that has proved to be highly effective against illegal immigration.

Moreover, building a wall would sharply reduce the incentive to enter the US illegally. It would have saved the lives of the two children lost because of their parents’ recklessness.

If democrats really care about these children, then build the wall.

If you oppose a border wall want to have ICE abolished and support Open Borders then you support Child Molesters,Rapists Thieves Robbers and Terrorists the Democrats are all that and more

In November, the Border Patrol apprehended 25,172 families with children along the southern border — a record high. Only 2 children perished not for lack of care or abuse. Not every holding area can have a fully staffed hospital that is trained in every disease the children are exposed to with exhaustion, malnutrition, and dehydration compromised immune systems. Even if the Boy was admitted to the hospital for the diagnosed cold he may not have survived. U.S. immigration officials routinely deal with contagious diseases, including tuberculosis, measles and chickenpox.
According to the CDC, there have been at least 20 deaths of children so far from the flu during the 2017-2018 flu season. 20!

It is a lost point that the very reason the organizers of the 5,000 strong “caravan” which grew, with the organizer’s aiding and abetting, to a 14,000 invasion force WAS to overwhelm border facilities and resources. They wanted to flood the border with a hoard to embarrass Trump and make the point that the open border globalists are running the show, not the US legal system. Now the leftist media wants to question if our already stretched far too thin Border Patrol and border defenses had enough resources?

Why isn’t the media concerned with what this boy and the girl actually died of; is it contagious? No, all that matters is that people working as hard as they can are blamed for tragic events far beyond their control.

But the left WANTED the tragic events. It’s part of the reason for the invasion. It was hoped that there would be Border Patrol agent or soldiers shooting photogenic illegal immigrants as they tried to storm the border; hopefully they could get some great shots of children being shot! Bonus points!! So far, they’ve had to settle for staged pictures of women dragging children into clouds of tear gas, then scrambling them out again. But, tragedy and finger-pointing is the currency of the left.

I simply have a feeling that the wall WILL be built. Aside from Schumer shutting down the government over an amount that would simply be a good year for the Clinton Foundation, the left is making the case FOR the wall.

Alamogordo, N.M., is 100 miles north of El Paso, TX, which is the closest point to the border. This was not something that happened at the border or even near the border, a one hour drive away. There is a CBP inspection station very close to White Sands National Park, just west of Alamogordo, and it is still 100 from the border. If someone gets sick at the border, they take them to a hospital in El Paso. Something missing from this NY Times story.

DHS reported — It was at this point the father declined further medical treatment for his son and told officials he “had been feeling better,” an official said.

Illegals don’t just break laws by crossing the border illegally, they also lie at every turn.
Remember the CA dairy disaster after an illegal alien LIED on a job form and brought TB into CA’s dairy cow population?
$1 billion in damages before we got a handle on that one lie!

Remember the CA bird flu disaster that ended up quaranteening all zoo birds, banning the sale of all pet birds, limiting the sale of chicken and other poultry between CA and other states, and the loss of millions of egg ranch birds?
One illegal LIED to get a job on an egg ranch. Actually he did have contacts with Mexican poultry. His lie cost over $1 billion in damages, too.

@Cristo:

Something missing from this NY Times story.

Yeah. Objective facts.

@Nan G: No, you must be wrong. They are ALL just looking for a better life for their children. Liar, liar, liar.

@Deplorable Me: They will never “get it” self absorbed fools this isnt Trumps wall its Americas wall, they pass laws block the funding. This steel fence with spear-like top & razor wire landing on the US side will impede tens of thousands a month from sneaking in. Lots more than Pelosis grass mowing will, in spite of her much more concerned with the rights of invaders than her voters.

“Democrats are willing to shut down the government over a wall because they fear it would work.”

@Jake: They KNOW it will work. They fear the loss of a constituency.

Sure get many estimates for the border barrier from 25 million per mile 5 billion would then cover 200 miles to 1.5 billion for the entire barrier
there are 2000 miles to protect. DHS estimates say it will take 3,5 years to build and 21 billion.
When compared to the cost of allowing open borders this is a bargain.

The U.S. is budgeted to give $180 million in foreign aid in 2019 to just Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador. $180 million should be buying us a lot of influence. The U.S. needs to tell those nations that if they don’t end the migration of their citizens seeking to illegally enter El Norte, the aid money will dry up like the Nevada desert.

And now some idiot Congressman (Democrat, of course) wants to hold a Congressional hearing on the death of these two children. But the idiots that are behind this don’t seem concerned about the deaths of children and yes, adults, that occur on their trek to El Norte. Or about the many, many women who are not only raped on their way but also simply disappear never to be heard from again. How many graves have been found in Mexico of those who were trying to reach our border?

Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Schumer, how many funerals of friends killed by illegals have you attended? What kind of security do you utilize at your home? Why are you playing wordsmith saying there will be no “wall” when Fort Know has a huge fence around it? Why is there a secure fence around the White House and Obama’s house?

The Democrats risk overplaying this issue. Those of us who live in border states understand the necessity for hard security on our southern border. Perhaps we could send Nancy and Chuck, the Schmuck to the border with a tent and a cooler to spend the night alone. Or spend the day in a South Texas deer blind and watch as dozens of men trek passed it who have entered the U.S. illegally.

@kitt: The value of illegal immigrants voting to Democrats is priceless.
