Time to Praise the RiNOs

In numerous comments sections on conservative sites, I’m seeing praise for “Lindsay Graham 2.0” and how conservatives are liking this new version.  A lot of back-handed comments like, “Now that John McCain is gone….”, “…Finally found his spine…”.

I don’t believe Graham has changed.  And if he didn’t have a spine to begin with, he’d cave to the criticism of conservatives  instead of standing up to them, when he thinks they are wrong.  Guys like him and McCain piss off both sides, depending on what policy position they are taking.  And they also earn praise…depending on which side they’re standing with.

Here’s hoping, though, that Lindsay Graham is enjoying his newfound praise amongst conservatives to keep doing what he’s been lately doing.  It’s nice to have a unified political party with a purpose.  And at the moment, while the Democrats are shaking their heads at the timing of Elizabeth Warren’s DNA disclosure, the Republican base is energized for November elections.  Actually, both sides are pretty much rallying their voters.  The stakes are high.

Yesterday, a live feed popped up on my FB from Heritage Foundation.  It’s a good listen.  RiNOs Lindsay Graham and Mitch McConnell delivered good speeches.  Susan Collins was rightfully praised for her vote and her speech for her Kavanaugh vote.

As reported in The Hill:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Tuesday that he hopes Democrats “get their ass kicked” in the November midterm elections for their behavior in the fight over Justice Brett Kavanaugh‘s confirmation.

“There’s this race before Kavanaugh, there’s 2018 after Kavanaugh,” Graham said at an event for the conservative Heritage Foundation. “I hope they get their ass kicked for the way they behaved.”

Graham, a vocal defender of Kavanaugh during his brutal confirmation fight, launched into a fiery speech during the nominee’s hours-long appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee late last month to respond to allegations of sexual assault.

The South Carolina lawmaker predicted during the event Tuesday focused on the Kavanaugh confirmation fight that Democrats would suffer in the November midterms over their response to his nomination, which he said “went too far.”

“Everything is breaking our way,” Graham declared.

“If you had asked … Heritage to come up with a plan to get Sean Hannity to raise money for [Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine)] on the radio, nobody could’ve done it,” he quipped, referring to the moderate GOP senator whose support clinched the number of votes needed to confirm Kavanaugh.

“So to the Democrats, thank you very much for doing something we could never do.”

Have a listen on Facebook to the Heritage Foundation President’s Club Meeting.

If the GOP is to do well in November and keep up their political momentum of reshaping the country (make America great again), then it will need a big tent party of true conservatives, Trump populist supporters (which includes non-conservative voters), Tea Party conservatives, and yes, the RiNOs and moderate center-right voters, like myself.

Because the Democrats have lost all their moderation, this election is a choice between what will benefit the country and citizens and open border globalism and socialism.

It’s true many in the GOPe, otherwise known as “Never-Trumpers,” seem to be seeing the successes of the Trump agenda and want to jump on the bandwagon.
But some of them are still globalists.
There are also some who are war-mongering Neo-Cons from way back before Trump was even running.
It seems to me even those Neo-Cons have nowhere better to be than on the Trump train.
Globalsits, otoh, not so much.
That aspect of the GOPe was willing to throw money and support to DEMOCRATS, even HILLARY!, rather than see an non-globalist take power.
Look at Bill Kristol’s recent tweet:

Democrats in theory:
This is most important midterm election in decades–let’s stay focused on health care, swampy GOP incumbents, etc.

Sounds more like a DEM than a Rep to me, especially his use of the word “us” when referring to him and DEMS.
Could he pull the lever for Trump in 2020?
I wonder.

He can quit calling for amnesty.
No amnesty now, no amnesty ever.
Our laws stand. Break them and suffer consequences. It is called the rule of law.
No one is above the law.
If they entered the U S without proper papers, they go home. Problem solved.
Citizens of other nations DO NOT have an automatic right to immigrate.
Get over it.

Donald Trump is getting ready to throw Republicans under the bus

(CNN) In a very wild interview with the Associated Press earlier this week, President Donald Trump said something that should make every Republican in Congress a little skittish.

Here’s the exchange:

AP: So my question is, if Republicans were to lose control of the House on November 6th — or a couple of days later depending on how long it takes to count the votes — do you believe you bear some responsibility for that?

Trump: No, I think I’m helping people. Look, I’m 48 and 1 in the primaries, and actually it’s much higher than that because I endorsed a lot of people that were successful that people don’t even talk about.

In case you missed it: The Republican President is asked whether he would take any blame if Republicans lose the House or Senate in 20 days’ time. He says he will not. Which means — stay with me now — that Trump will blame Republicans if/when they lose the House or, much less likely, the Senate.

This is in keeping with two fundamental truths about Trump:

1) He never thinks anything is his fault
2) He doesn’t associate with people he believes to be losers
In Trump’s mind, he wins. He is a winner.

“My whole life is about winning,” Trump told The Washington Post in December 2015. “I always win. I win at golf. I’m a club champion many times at different clubs. I win at golf. I can sink the three-footer on the 18th hole when others can’t. My whole life is about winning. I don’t lose often. I almost never lose.”

I can sink the three-footer on the 18th hole when others can’t. My whole life is about winning. I don’t lose often. I almost never lose.” When his side loses, they aren’t his side anymore.

(He would certainly win at any liars competition. I don’t recall seeing a photo of his wall of golf trophies, or of him walking the greens during any PGA tournament. Must have missed that somehow.)

Which brings me to what Trump might do if Republicans, as history, polling and most smart neutral observers expect, lose the House majority in 20 days.

He’s already given us a VERY big clue — in an interview last week on “Fox & Friends” — when asked about how he would get along with a Democratic majority in the House. Said Trump:

“Now, can we get along? Maybe. And there’s a possibility. They want infrastructure, I want infrastructure; there’s something that can bring us together. We have a lot of things were there is commonality and it’s possible that we’ll even get along.”

Well, at least he won’t officially become a Democrat again, because we won’t have him back. He was a serious embarrassment to the party to begin with.

@Greg: Nothing to worry about, we will all find out on Nov 6, hopefully then the voters can turn to the representatives and put pressure on them to build a wall cut budgets run audits on failing dem programs put in appointees, we could reach 50% constitutional judges, that will give serious jail time to mobs, hell the Mafia doesnt even want to be called the mob anymore.

@Greg: You did notice that CNN made up a Trump quote out of thin air, right? He’s not throwing anyone under the bus; he is repairing the damage liberals have caused to this nation.

@kitt: Nothing to worry about, we will all find out on Nov 6,

Democrats are counting heavily on fraud. When they lose, we’ll hear a reprise of the blame on Russians. They haven’t yet understood that the growing majority sees through liberal corruption.
