We don’t care because we are done seeing our morality weaponized against us. The Piouscons keep confusing passivity with morality. Look at how George W. Bush took the high road and let himself be abused all through his term and Obama’s too. That didn’t work out so well. Oh, and the way he suddenly discovered his stones after Trump got elected and trashed both the President and the those of us who spent years defending him when he would not defend himself made Team Turn-The-Other-Cheek look like a bunch of hypocritical jerks.

I don’t normally give weekend movie recommendations, but on a whim I decided to Netflix the DVD of The Final Year, the documentary on President Obama’s final year in office, focused particularly on his foreign policy. You get to see all of the major players, Rhodes, Powers, Rice, Kerry, and of course, Obama in all of their smug self-righteousness over the brilliance of their diplomacy. I wouldn’t have enjoyed this much when it first came out, and I doubt I could have picked a better week to watch! The movie ends with the beauty of election night and their hopes that the incoming administration doesn’t ruin all of their good work. Ace of Spades coined the perfect term for what I felt as I was watching this – “Schauden-boner”. Let me know in the comments if you experience the same!
