It’s hard to be President when the White House staff is working to bring you down

Leaks from pipes in one’s house can be very damaging. It warps and weakens wood. It can stain carpets. It can ruin ceilings. Leaks can also be corrosive to Presidency. The current White House is leaking like a sieve and there’s little doubt why.

The White House staff is actively working against Trump. He can’t seem to even visit the toilet without someone advising the press if it was #1 or #2.

It’s ridiculous, and it’s a big story.

Trump is reportedly “seething” over the leaks:

A dozen White House officials and others close to Trump detailed the president’s decision-making and his mood on the condition of anonymity in order to discuss private conversations and deliberations.

A dozen White House officials? A dozen?

Trump is said to be considering cleaning house, and who can blame him? The first startling leaks were the release of the phone call transcripts between Trump and the leaders of Mexico and Australia.

President Trump on Saturday denounced the leaks of transcripts of his telephone conversations with leaders of Australia and Mexico as “disgraceful” and said his administration was searching “very, very hard” for the leakers.

Trump, speaking to Fox News, accused “Obama people” of giving news organizations embarrassing details of his recent tense phone conversations with his Australian and Mexican counterparts, and said that the holdovers from the Obama administration still serving on his White House and National Security Council staff were being replaced.

“It’s a disgrace that they leaked because it’s very much against our country,” Trump said, without stating why he believed that career civil servants who work in Democratic and Republican administrations were the source of the leaks. “It’s a very dangerous thing for this country,” he said.

It’s only gotten worse. Much worse. The one that might the final straw was the leak of an alleged dinner conversation between James Comey and Trump:

President Donald Trump asked former FBI Director James Comey more than once about over the course of a January dinner whether he could be loyal, according to sources familiar with the meeting.

“Sources familiar with the meeting.” That source is Comey himself.

The conversation that night in January, Mr. Comey now believes, was a harbinger of his downfall this week as head of the F.B.I., according to two people who have heard his account of the dinner.

As they ate, the president and Mr. Comey made small talk about the election and the crowd sizes at Mr. Trump’s rallies. The president then turned the conversation to whether Mr. Comey would pledge his loyalty to him.

It was leaked to the media by someone in the FBI:

Mr. Comey described details of his refusal to pledge his loyalty to Mr. Trump to several people close to him on the condition that they not discuss it publicly while he was F.B.I. director. But now that Mr. Comey has been fired, they felt free to discuss it on the condition of anonymity.

Clearly, the FBI is not really loyal to the government.

Comey wasn’t fired because of the Russian investigation, which will continue. As of this moment, Trump is not a target of the investigation. Sen. Chuck Grassley:

It would not be appropriate for me to reveal those details before the professionals conducting the investigations are ready. So I will not answer any questions about who are targets of the ongoing Russia investigations. But I will say this: Shortly after Director Comey briefed us, I tweeted that he should be transparent. I said he should tell the public what he told Senator Feinstein and me about whether the FBI is or is not investigating the president. On Tuesday, the president’s letter said that Director Comey told him he was not under investigation. Senator Feinstein and I heard nothing that contradicted the president’s statement.

The final decision to fire  Comey seems to have been Comey’s refusal to investigate leaks of classified information coming out of the White House. That was all orchestrated by barack obama:

From the news stories written over the past three months, we can be pretty sure that certain someone was in the White House. Indeed, we were told as much by The New York Times on March 1, which reported that “as Inauguration Day approached, Obama White House officials grew convinced that the intelligence was damning and that they needed to ensure that as many people as possible inside government could see it, even if people without security clearances could not.”

The article described an explicit Obama White House “push to preserve the intelligence.” Susan Rice ran the largest branch of the Obama White House, with 400 employees. It’s logical, given how many of them would have had the highest-level security clearances, that the leaker of the Flynn information came from the NSC ranks.

There is little doubt that holdover obama staff members in White House are acting against Donald Trump and still serving barack obama as a means to bring down Trump. It is time to address that. obama conducted a war on leakers. There’s a lesson in that for Trump.

Time for Trump to begin the well-known technique of planting false stories with his aides. Just a little change for each aide, and see which ones pop up in the news.
Then get the hook!
This method has been used before, with very good results.

That’s probably true but his ability to shoot himself in the foot time and time again doesn’t help
He has great people around him in terms of Cabinet, he needs to rely on they more

Time for liberals to face the music and pay the piper and he has doubled his wages

From the moment that Trump gave that speech after coming down the escalator at Trump Tower declaring his candidacy I knew that established elites would try to destroy him. He said what people were thinking and it was not goog for the deep state.
MAGA!

Clearly, the FBI is not really loyal to the government.
Only in Medical Malpractice world is loyalty to the leader considered being against one’s country or government.

@Spurwing Plover: The usual spurting nonsense. You sound like Palin and her word salad.

Seth Rich ended up dead. That possibility would help to stop the leaks. Or, if that is too severe, how about a long vacation at Gitmo?

@bob sykes: crackhead or meth head?
