Donald Trump has had a busy first week as POTUS. NBC called it “chaos.” Joe Klein, not unexpectedly, calls Trump’s Presidency “radical.” Politico called it “Yuge.” The media is still in shock over Trump’s electoral victory and it keeps churning out fake news:
Since the Nov. 8 election, major newsrooms have overhyped stories suggesting supposedly unprecedented conduct by the new administration, including imposing so-called “gag orders” on government scientists and deleting several pages from the White House website.

On Thursday, for example, the Washington Post grabbed everyone’s attention with a shocking headline that read, “The State Department’s entire senior administrative team just resigned.”
The response from media was swift, as newsroomsand reportersrushedto share and comment on the Post’s supposedly jarring scoop.
“All the top management of the State Department have quit because of Trump. ‘Great’ America? Or Little America?” asked the Post’s Liz Sly on social media.
BuzzFeed’s Sheera Frenkel added, “Asked a US diplomat friend how he felt about the resignations at State and the Trump administration so far. His answer, ‘We are fucked.'”
CNN followed up shortly thereafter with a less dramatic story titled, “Trump administration asks top State Department officials to leave.”
As it turns out, four mid-tier State officials were told recently by the new administration that their services were no longer needed. In response, the officials tendered their resignations, which is customary in these situations
Desperate to paint Trump as a racist, the media eagerly spread a false story of Trump removing MLK’s bust from the Oval Office.
President Trump accused the media of calling him “a racist” after a Time reporter incorrectly reported that he had removed the bust of Martin Luther King Jr. from the Oval Office.
“That’s a very serious charge. They’re not saying the bust is taken out, what they’re saying is I’m a racist. That’s what they’re saying,” Trump said in an interview with Sean Hannity that aired Thursday on Fox News.
Time’s White House correspondent Zeke Miller mistakenly reported that the bust had been removed after he had not seen it during a visit to the Oval Office last Friday.
The latest media hurt feelings came as a result of Trump not turning back to wave at them from Air Force One.
I agree with Glenn Reynolds- Trump is gaslighting the press and it is working.
In fact, Trump’s basically gaslighting them. Knowing how much they hate him, he’s constantly provoking them to go over the top. Sean Spicer’s crowd-size remarks on Saturday were all about making them seem petty and negative. (And, possibly, teeing up crowd size comparisons at this Friday’s March For Life, which the press normally ignores but which Trump will probably force them to cover).
Trump has them dizzy and it has become entertaining. Worse for them, Trump is doing exactly as he promised. Andrew Napolitano:
“The first executive order signed by President Trump, four hours after he was sworn in as president of the United States, instructs those who administer Obamacare to dial back their administration,” Napolitano said. “Do not assess any penalties, fines, or taxes, he said. Because by the time those penalties, fines, and taxes are due, the law will no longer exist.”
The former judge explained what the executive order’s impact will be.
“He told the administrators of the Affordable Care Act, which we all call Obamacare, that when you have discretion, when you have an opportunity to decide how to enforce it based on the time, place, manner, and severity of the enforcement, exercise that discretion against the government and in favor of the person upon whom you are enforcing the statute,” he said.
Judge Napolitano then said the executive order is not only in line with what Trump had promised as a candidate, but it is historic in nature.
“That is revolutionary; that is unheard of in American history,” Napolitano said. “That is Donald Trump doing exactly what he said he would do.”
Trump has a radical immigration plan which is highly offensive to the left – enforce the law:
Trump’s two immigration executive orders, issued Wednesday, are long, far-reaching, and complicated. But perhaps the most consequential passage in the two combined orders is a single sentence: “The purpose of this order is to direct executive departments and agencies to employ all lawful means to enforce the immigration laws of the United States.”
That is the heart of Trump’s immigration strategy. “We do not need new laws,” the president said at the Department of Homeland Security Wednesday. “We will work within the existing system and framework.”
Imagine that- a President doing what he promised. And despite the confusion of the likes of Lindsey Graham, Donald Trump is putting America first. That is arguably the most appealing part of Trump. One of barack obama’s first efforts was to take the United States down a few pegs with his apology tour. There will be no apology tour for Donald Trump.
I’ve said it before- barack obama never really saw him as President of the United States. He saw himself as a transcendent god-like being- President of the World, Guardian of the Galaxy. If you look back you’ll see that all of obama’s priorities were in accordance with that philosophy. Trump, for all his flaws, sees himself first as the President of the United States.
And that is very refreshing.
Meanwhile, democrats are focusing on “shutting down white people” while deciding upon a new DNC leader from a bunch of fruits, and teaching old white coastal elite millionaires how to talk to working class folk. Rick Moran made me laugh out loud:
Democrats are not used to talking to “real people” in a substantive way. They just assume that these voters will robotically accept their flawed assumptions and vote for them. There has never been any effort to engage white working-class voters in the same way that Dems try to engage minorities, or women, or any other class of “victims” of the “white male power structure.”
So Democrats will have learn a new vocabularly. Words like “liberty” and “patriotism” will no longer stick in their throats, although they may sound strange and alien coming from a Democrat.
Indeed. It could be a very long eight years for them.
