The GOP has the wrong Trump at the top of the ticket. Ivanka Trump should be the candidate, not Donald.
She’s gracious, intelligent and well spoken. She deals with criticism well. Even CNN called her speech at the GOP Convention “smart” and “savvy.”
Ivanka Trump introduced her father Thursday evening at the Republican National Convention. You never would have known that just that morning, she told Savannah Guthrie on the “Today” show that she felt terrified about speaking “in a stadium like this” and hoped she does “a great job for him.”
Not only did she do an amazing job at the mic, but she did a great one as the chief pitchwoman for Trump to other women; she made him sound like a Democrat.
After a compelling, motivational video biography rolled about Trump’s life and work, the tune “Here Comes the Sun” began — and the accomplished mother of three did indeed beam like the sun as she took the stage and made her father sound, not like the Republican nominee, but a liberal.
She spoke about the gender gap, maternity leave and the fact that 40% of households now have a female breadwinner. She said that “motherhood” is the factor behind the biggest pay gap — and she’s right — and promised that her dad would pass labor reform to protect women. In fact, she promised her father would fight for:
Equal pay for equal work!
Quality child care, affordable and accessible for all!

Trump’s answer was to initially praise his children*, whom the questioner called “well-spoken and calm,” but cautioned they can be pretty bad behind the scenes, too. Thanks, Pops.

But the better surrogate for Donald Trump— one whose support has been evident if muted on the trail— is Ivanka Trump, the businessman’s 34-year-old daughter who instead made her stunning post-baby debut this week Manhattan.
Trump is so very New Yorky. He bullies. He makes bad jokes. It’s New York humor, but not everyone gets it. Knowing that and not stepping into it is where Trump goes wrong.

“I clearly disagree,” Trump said when asked of her reaction to what Obama told reporters. “I think he’d be an excellent president,” she said, adding, “He understands how to create jobs, and maintain them.”

Michael Ashner, the chairman and CEO of Winthrop Realty Trust, dealt directly with a then pregnant Ivanka while negotiating the sale of the Doral, a Florida golf and resort property, in 2011. He told Town & Country in 2015 that “she’s one of the most capable businesspeople I’ve ever dealt with. I was surprised. I wondered if she’d be like her father, or have any affectation. She does not.”
As for the sexual harassment bullsh*t she’s being dragged into, I hope she’ll suggest the media ask Kathleen Willey or Juanita Broaddrick about that. Broaddrick alleges she was twice raped by Bill Clinton. I’d love to see Hillary cornered with that. There must be something to it- NBC scrubbed Andrea Mitchell’s assertion that Broaddrick’s claims had been “discredited.”
The question is, how do we get the right Trump on the card? I think she’d destroy Hillary.

DrJohn is well known in his field and has lectured on every continent except for Antarctica. He has been married to the same wonderful lady for over 30 years and has three kids- two sons, both of whom are attorneys and one daughter on her way into the field of education.
DrJohn was brought up with the concept that one can do well if one is prepared to work hard but nothing in life is guaranteed.

Before 1900 was the last time we topped 75% of the electorate turning out to vote.
Topping 50% is what we do.
And we have NEVER topped 50% of the adult population!
Lastly, the poorer you are, as well as the less educated you are, the less likely you are to bother voting.
