Obama is erasing the Southern border of the US

The stories keep coming. The Obama regime, aided by the sycophantic press, made a big show of its plans to deport illegals:

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson announced Monday that federal immigration authorities apprehended 121 adults and children in raids over the New Year’s weekend as part of a nationwide operation to deport a new wave of illegal immigrants.

The families taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were living in Georgia, Texas and North Carolina, Johnson said in a statement. They are being held temporarily in federal detention centers before being deported to Central America.

“As I have said repeatedly, our borders are not open to illegal migration,” Johnson said. “If you come here illegally, we will send you back consistent with our laws and values.”

What WaPo never got around to telling you is that it was all for show. Those illegals are being quietly released:

Early in January, the Obama administration made a great show out of a series of sweeps that gathered up to 121 illegals for deportation. This month the administration is quietly beginning to release some of those same people from custody.

In January Obama’s U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency conducted several sweeps in various parts of the country as part of a get-tough policy on illegal migrants. But now, only a month later, over two dozen of the 121 illegals gathered up have already been released under pressure from illegal alien activists.

Thirty-three members of eight families of illegals gathered up in January have been released with no further action, though ICE officials say they are still liable for deportation. The families were released after illegal migrant activists rushed to court complaining the ICE raids were “scaring children” and demanding the raids be halted.

Activists celebrated after the quiet release of eight of families.

A new wave of invaders is being granted “refugee status” by Obama:

The number of Central American migrants crossing illegally into the United States through the Southern border has grown exponentially under the Obama administration.

More than 130,000 came in 2014 alone, most of them welcomed by sanctuary cities and then protected from deportation by President Obama’s executive actions.

The legality of those actions remains unsettled and appears headed to the Supreme Court.

But now President Obama has invented a new way to continue the influx of migrants from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador and do it in a way that is deemed “legal.” He will simply re-categorize them as “refugees.”

Secretary of State John Kerry announced Wednesday plans to expand a program to let Central Americans apply for refugee status before they attempt the long, arduous trip to the U.S.-Mexico border.

As such, Obama will place authority for the program under the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, who will pre-screen migrants from three Central American countries and decide which ones qualify as refugees eligible to come to the United States, the Associate Press reports.

This comes with a host of freebies:

And one of the more sinister side-effects of the new refugee program is that it will result in a huge net increase in social welfare benefits for the migrants.

“As an added bonus for the Central Americans, coming in as a refugee means they are instantly eligible for cash assistance, housing, job training, language instruction and free health care,” Vaughan noted.

Vaughn said the move will put financial pressure on cities that the Obama administration is asking to “welcome” the new immigrants.

“It’s going to bankrupt some of the communities that are forced to absorb these new arrivals,” she said. “I think the Democrats are going to pay a huge political price for these increasingly outrageous executive actions that make a mockery of our immigration laws and, frankly, insult our intelligence.”

obama’s largesse means financial pain mostly for the middle class as they will be bearing the burden. Obama also means to remove virtually all obstructions to the invasion of this country. He plans to reduce the number of border agents:

WESLACO – The federal government will have fewer agents patrolling the border by next fiscal year.

It’s under the proposed budget released by the Department of Homeland Security. The agency is budgeting for 300 fewer agents in 2017 than they did for this fiscal year.

Since September, Border Patrol agents have been catching more unaccompanied children and families at the border.

“One, we have people turning themselves in at unprecedented rates. Then we have the people that are always coming in illegally,” National Border Patrol Council Local 3307 Vice President Chris Cabrera said. “Then we have the drug flow that’s coming north and the money that’s going south and guns that are going south. And to cut jobs at a time like this is a recipe for disaster.”

For the 2017 fiscal year, Border Patrol plans to field a little more than 21,000 agents. By its projections, the agency pays $181,000 per year in operational costs for each agent.

Those that remain are being told not to enforce the law:

In a shocking reversal of policy, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents are being told to release illegal immigrants and no longer order them to appear at deportation hearings, essentially a license to stay in the United States, a key agent testified Thursday.

What’s more, the stand down order includes a requirement that the whereabouts of illegals released are not to be tracked.

“We might as well abolish our immigration laws altogether,”suggested agent Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council.

And if the border agents have a problem with amnesty, they are told to look elsewhere for employment:

The man who oversees the U.S. Border Patrol said Tuesday that if agents have a problem with President Obama’s deportation amnesty, they should quit.

The strong remarks by Customs and Border Protection Commissioner R. Gil Kerlikowske came as tensions between Congress and the White House grew even higher, with House GOP leaders announcing they’ll hold an unprecedented vote to have their chamber join in the lawsuit trying to halt the amnesty.

The President of the United States is obligated to see that laws are faithfully executed:

Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution requires the President to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” The President must enforce all constitutionally valid Acts of Congress, regardless of the Administration’s view of their wisdom or policy. Without enforcement of the law, there cannot be accountability under law, which is essential to a functioning democracy. When the President fails to perform this duty, the Congress has appropriations and other powers over the President, but none of those powers can be exercised unless both houses of Congress work together. The most powerful means of solving this problem is the electoral process. Congress may also hold the President accountable by asking the courts to call the fouls when the lines of constitutional authority have been breached.

The President has a little leeway with law enforcement, but just a little:

So, can the Administration refuse to defend a duly enacted law? Yes they can and they have provided (1) there is considered belief the provision in question is unconstitutional and (2) they reasonably believe their view will ultimately prevail upon judicial review. Obama’s action is rare, but not novel with respect to DOMA. Can a President refuse to enforce a law? Yes they can, but only if there is a constitutional question involved that impinges on the power of the Executive, especially as concerns their role as Commander-in-Chief. At best, Obama can say he is exercising prosecutorial discretion.

obama’s actions would clearly not withstand judicial scrutiny but he could care less. The Constitution has been nothing but a thorn in obama’s side and he’s made that very clear. He is determined to change the demographics of this country and eventually diminish it to a third world status. This is obviously being done in large part to grow the dependent class and reduce conservatives to a marginal population so the left would maintain control in perpetuity and ultimately follow the Venezuela model. obama cares not a whit for the financial burden his actions will have upon the middle class and its children. He will have his Hawaiian mansion and his speaking fees and will soon be a very wealthy man. Perhaps he will be needing to employ illegals or some H2B immigrants for his pineapple farm. Whatever remains of this country cannot be rid of him soon enough.

Without the laws being enforced, we have no borders. Without borders, we have no country.

Well here’s another fine mess he has got us into. This absolutely comes from the Whitehouse. The next President has his work cut out or him, best roll up the sleeves and wade in wearing hipwaders and start shoveling. Fire every last one of Obama appointees, then search out the Clinton appointees that Bush left.
Advise those employees that are not doing their jobs properly they are on notice. Then like Walker go after the government unions.

GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump’s vow to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border seems to be spurring more illegal immigration in recent months, according to Reuters. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-immigration-idUSMTZSAPEC31DAFPE4

Interviews with migrants, people smugglers and officials show many migrants are trying to cross now instead of facing tighter policing and new policies to halt illegal immigration if Trump wins the Nov. 8 election.

Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks told Reuters, “It seems they agree Mr. Trump will be tough, build the wall and stop illegal immigration.”

PS, Love your choice of political cartoon.

Illegal immigration into the United States has declined every year of the Obama administration.

The deportation rate has been markedly higher during the years of the Obama administration than during those of his predecessor. Obama has deported more undocumented aliens than any other American president. Not only have more been deported overall; the Obama administration has prioritized the deportation of those most likely to cause problems in the communities where they reside. It would be stupid to do otherwise.

It has also become much harder to enter the United States across the southern border during the Obama administration. The number of apprehensions at or near the border reflects that. “Catch and release” isn’t the reality. The reality is “catch, subject to much inconvenience, and then release at an inconveniently long distance from where they tried to enter.” This protocol is what is known as a deterrent.

Monica Camacho-Perez came to the United States from Mexico as a child, crossing into Arizona with her mother in the same spot where her father made the trip before them. “Nobody stopped us,’’ Camacho-Perez, now 20, said of her 2002 journey.

Three years ago, her uncle tried to cross the border and join the family in Baltimore, where they remain illegal immigrants. He was stopped three times by the U.S. Border Patrol and jailed for 50 days.

“He doesn’t want to try anymore,” said Camacho-Perez. “Now, it’s really hard.”

During the years of the Obama administration, the total number of undocumented aliens living inside the United States has declined by around one million.

Those are facts. Donald Trump’s Great Southern Wall, to be built at the expense of Mexico, which “just got 10 feet higher,” is a fairy tale. So are Magic Beans. Try to remember that when he eventually gets around to promising them.

Early in January, the Obama administration made a great show out of a series of sweeps that gathered up illegals for deportation.
This month the administration is quietly beginning to release those same people from custody.
OOPS!
It was all PR.
Despite the January sweep, the numbers of deportations have fallen severely as Obama has entered his final years in office.
In fact, last year the administration re-tooled its policies to deport even fewer illegals than the already reduced rate from 2014.

Deportation statistics are skewed.
In the Obama years, all of the increase in deportations has involved people picked up within 100 miles of the border, most of whom have just recently crossed over. In 2013, almost two-thirds of deportations were in that category. Catch and release were voluntary returns and were not previously counted as deportations.

At the same time, the administration largely ended immigration roundups at workplaces and shifted investigators into targeting business owners who illegally hired foreign workers.
“If you are a run-of-the-mill immigrant here illegally, your odds of getting deported are close to zero — it’s just highly unlikely to happen,” John Sandweg, until recently the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said in an interview.
“It just cannot be the policy of the U.S. that if somebody gets past the border and gets to St. Louis or Memphis or Austin, Texas, or New York, they are not going to be deported,” Sessions said. “The administration is systematically failing to enforce immigration law uniformly.”
Had the United States not allowed so many new illegal immigrants to settle in the country since 2009, the total number of illegal immigrants would have fallen by 2.5 million. But the arrival of so many new illegal immigrants offset this attrition in the illegal population.

Republicans claim every statistic they don’t like is skewed. I can’t think of a single positive report since Obama took office that they haven’t denied to be true, and there have been plenty of them.

@Greg:

The deportation rate has been markedly higher during the years of the Obama administration than during those of his predecessor. Obama has deported more undocumented aliens than any other American president.

Well then you certainly have to give GWB credit for that. Obama has said repeatedly that everything that has happened during his admin has been due to GWB.

So I’d like for someone to answer this question: From the post above by Dr John

““As an added bonus for the Central Americans, coming in as a refugee means they are instantly eligible for cash assistance, housing, job training, language instruction and free health care,” Vaughan noted.

Can an American citizen just go somewhere and instantly sign up for free cash assistance, free housing, free job training, free English education, and free health care? or is that limited only to people that have never contributed one cent toward any of those benefits?

Easy enough to cure, without proof of citizenship no welfare no public school, require E verify for all employers. Those caught hiring an illegal must provide 1st class ticket and 500 US dollars, back to country of origin for each employee.

@Greg: And Greggie do you think that allowing 11 million illegals amnesty is some great move to protect America??

@DrJohn:
Gotta give a cite here Dr J about returns vs deports
Hey !! any updates on ‘Ebola could kill millions in USA’
or
“the Invasion of the kids with measles”
Now when Bush took office in 2001 there were less than 8 million undocumented in the USA, that number reached an all time high of 11.6 million
Under Obama it has dropped to 11.3 it has never dropped during any 8 year period in decades

Here’s 18 minutes from a dad whose son went to school, then football practice, then the mall.
His son had several top notch college offers on the table because he was one of our country’s top football prospects.
On the way home from the mall, only a few houses from his home, he was shot several times by an illegal alien.
Two of the shots went through his hands and into his face and head.
His dad heard the shots and ran out to see his son lying dead on the sidewalk.
He is a black man who speaks from the heart about the problems of illegals in this country.

Can you listen to this and be for amnesty?
Obama is deporting approximately 1 out of every 1,000 illegals who come to the attention of feds.
That is not enough.

@john: Who did the counting? Where are the records/documents? That’s right they are undocumented and no one knows how many there are.
