Bernie wants a socialist revolution? Why don’t we review how socialist revolutions have gone!

Well, you know, we might not end up where you want…..

Bernie Sanders is talking up a new revolution. A new proletarian revolution. Let’s review how these have fared over the years.

Russia: Ended up in a totalitarian state. Millions were murdered.

Cuba: Ended up in a totalitarian state. Economy collapsed. Who knows how many were killed.

Fidel Castro has been one of the cruelest dictators in living memory. He has also been the longest-“serving.” What has Castro served? Repression, torture, and murder. He seized power in January 1959. He is now “retiring,” just short of his 50th year in power. His golden jubilee will surely be marked, regardless; seldom have 50 years been less golden or more awful.

Venezuela: Ended up in a totalitarian state. Economy on the verge of collapse. At least 100,000 dead.

Bernie: Let ‘s do it again! Viva la revolucion!

“The goal of socialism is Communism.”

Vladmir Lenin

I think I’ll pass.

History shows us that the path is quite clear. Progressivism leads to socialism leads to Communism leads to Totalitarianism. All with the best intent. It winds up killing millions of the people the leaders claim to want to help. You have to admire liberals. The greater something is realized to be a total failure the harder they strive to repeat it.

Anyone have George Santayana’s cell phone?

DrJohn has been a health care professional for more than 30 years. In addition to clinical practice he has done extensive research and has published widely with over 70 original articles and abstracts in the peer-reviewed literature. DrJohn is well known in his field and has lectured on every continent except for Antarctica. He has been married to the same wonderful lady for over 30 years and has three kids- two sons, both of whom are attorneys and one daughter on her way into the field of education. DrJohn was brought up with the concept that one can do well if one is prepared to work hard but nothing in life is guaranteed. Except for liberals being foolish.

When struggling to achieve success becomes too difficult, the reaction is often envy of those who, either through superior capabilities or shear luck, succeeded. This drives them to want to exact punishment upon those who succeeded in the form of confiscation (to, coincidentally, be distributed among the disaffected).

Obama, Hillary, Bernie, Warren… and others… all tap into that vindictive spite and promise a shower of freebies to be financed by the successful; free food, free college, free health care, free retirement. Though some of those who take the bait actually went to school, the vast majority seemed to have slept through the classes that covered world history, socialism, communism, totalitarianism, fascism and despotism. Or, perhaps, all that was conveniently written out of history. At any rate, the all but guaranteed results of such a revolution is lost upon those seeking that instant gratification of the free stuff.

I would be interested to hear what Bernie’s analysis of the Occupy Wall Street movement is.

Bernie supporters have a young voter-oriented blog called, I Like Bernie, But…
The Bookworm has begun a new blog titled, I Don’t Like Bernie, Because. . .
    http://idontlikeberniebecause.blogspot.com/
    Bookworm:

[T]he most important thing you need to know, because you’re the kind of person who wants to decrease gun deaths: guns are at their most deadly when government has complete control over them.

Data proves this point. Let’s walk through the numbers for the last 110 years or so. This analysis looks at the effectiveness and non-government murderers who do not have guns; non-government murders who do have guns; and governments that murder, with guns of course. The numbers may surprise you.

    The rest is here:

    Individuals without guns, with guns.
    Corporations without guns.
Murder totals for 50 years in the USA.
Even the world’s very worst cases pale in comparison to a Government with guns and a populace without guns in one instance after another.

Really the ONLY number of dead that compares to government killing of unarmed people is America’s abortion totals.

    Socialism doesn’t work.

Discipline is needed when using social programs, because when zealots like Sanders get involved, it takes off and goes places no one wants to go.

Forgive the rich for being rich, and stop being a jealous *sshole. That’s the best advice for the libs, these day.

@kitt: socialism was successful on viltvodel five… but that is also light years away where the great arklesiasore snorted out the universe in a booger rag… see hitchhikers guide to the galaxy

@kitt: Look what happened when ABBA’s income dropped. Sweden is currently in trouble. Their program was in a very delicate balance and then they let in the Muslims who had nothing to contribute. Sweden is running out of other peoples money just like Venezuela .

@Randy: Every Socialist nation is in trouble.
We with the unfortunate circumstance of being born with the working gene, are relentlessly harassed to provide for those that have not been born with that defect, and made to feel inferior and guilty.
Somewhere some a$$ is telling the screw-ups they deserve to have everything they want with no effort put forth.

    @Bill, #13:

Irresponsible tax cuts that have forced the government to run on borrowed money for decades will the be cause of our eventual bankruptcy. An annual defense budget that’s higher than the total of the next seven highest spending nations combined might also be a factor.

People who support Bernie Sander’s don’t necessarily have unrealistic expectations.

As if things weren’t confusing enough already, there could now be Bloomberg. Imagine if both he and Trump decided on a 3rd party play.

@Greg: Its not irresponsible tax cuts its irresponsible tax spending. If a dept doesnt spend all the money allocated it gets cut. So they at the end of the fiscal period go on a spree.
The liberals problem is fear of personal responsibility, they will never say this isn’t working, we were wrong, hold a liberal manager accountable.

    Bill

@Greg: Bush’s tax cuts yielded an additional $730 billion and boosted the economy. Oppressive taxes strangles economic growth and lowers revenues. Liberals are too ignorant and short-sighted to understand this.

The left is driven more by spiteful envy to punish anyone (other than another liberal) for achieving success than concern with economic growth and the good of the people. If you notice, they would rather lie about unemployment and celebrate meaningless figures than actually do something to help those who need a good job.
