You have to wonder if your average leftist’s first thought in the morning is, “What can I do today to make everybody around me as miserable as I am?” OK, that’s a way over the top statement but leftist anger over the most trivial transgressions has reached the point of self-parody, case in point being the creation of a satirical Tumblr site that publishes at least daily some new outrage from the Radical Left. Heck, we’ve gotten to the point where these people are even fretting over breakfast sandwich inequality. Yes, really!
So it should come as no surprise that since Halloween is the coolest holiday of the year for kids the PC police have to stop children from having fun by expressing themselves creatively. There have been a number of stories in the news about school districts banning Halloween celebrations for their students citing “inclusiveness” because let’s face it. Nothing says “inclusion” like a handful of a-holes saying, “Your happiness deeply offends me. Your community that I chose to live in needs to reshape it’s entire values system to accommodate me.”
Not to be outdone, a group of online feminists have created a web site offering “Feminist” costumes for little girls. I put feminist in quotes because if you click on the link It show pictures of two costumes – one of an astronaut and one of … Yoko Ono?
OK, I guess being the person responsible for destroying the greatest rock band of all time could be considered empowerment…
The most interesting costume they offer to dress your toddler girl as is… Lena Dunham. Yes, seriously. I can actually understand offering costumes like the astronaut, etc. But Lena Dunham? First off, why would any toddler even know who Dunham is? Even more disturbing, is there really that big a market for little girls who want to go out as a child molester who will grow up to exploit the poor? Just a suggestion to “feminist” parents, maybe Halloween can be about what your daughter wants to pretend to be at this stage in her development and not about what you wish she would be. And maybe letting your daughter act out her childhood fantasies as opposed to forcing her to act out your adult ones might leave her less likely to grow up to be a neurotic basket case like you?
The always reliable for moonbattery University of Wisconsin has decided that “A Funny Halloween Costume is Oppressive”. Contributor Aurelius at IOTW reports:
The Center for Cultural Enrichment (CCE) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is warning students that if your Halloween costume is funny, it’s more than likely that you’re exploiting oppressed people.
That message, along with other suggestions about avoiding “cultural appropriation,” was posted on fliers around campus in the previous few days. It was first reported by iOTW Report.
In other words, if your costume makes you happy in any way shape or form, it makes me miserable. So stop it! And best of all, the Tumblr site I referenced at the top of this post jumped on the controversy over Catlyn Jenner having the audacity to think that the “Caitlyn Jenner” costume that’s surfaced on the web is funny. Leftist outrage was comically predictable:
This! It doesn’t matter if Caitlyn Jenner doesn’t find it offensive for you to dress up as Caitlyn Jenner. You must take every single other person’s feelings about Caitlyn Jenner’s identity into consideration.
It was PJTV’s Alfonzo Rachel who might have had the best line on this controversy: “You know what would be an awesome Halloween costume? If Caitlyn Jenner went out for Halloween as Bruce Jenner.”

Here in Utah it is NOT the ”radical Left,” that’s trying to knock all the fun out of Halloween, it’s the Mormon Church.
They try ,and fail, every year to replace trick or treat with trunk or treat.
IF you will bring your children to a Mormon church all these cars in the parking lot will have their trunks open and full of treats….but your child must NOT be dressed in ANY inappropriate way: witches, demons, zombies, bare arms (on girls) and many other no-nos are turned away.
Approved costumed children get lots of goodies.
Mormon homes are dark, and that’s almost 50% of Utah!
All the coolest costumes come door to door.
You should see them.

Hey when I followed your links Brother Bob it was NOT lefties who wanted to stop the school’s celebrating Halloween. Those schools were stopping because yes it was against their (deeply held?) religious beliefs. That sure doesn’t sound like lefties to me BB sounds a lot like right wing religious fanatics to me.
And would any toddler know what an astronaut is? Toddlers are usually dressed to the parents wishes, not their own. Most people consider a toddler to be less than 3 years old. Let the parents costume them as they wish

If we have to “take every single other person’s feelings” into consideration, we would be frozen, afraid to move.
I remember in university, I went to a Halloween party dressed as a… US soldier.
It was easy, I wore my uniform… and had a molded plastic M16 drill rifle from the ROTC.
One girl told me that I should leave because my costume was offensive because I had a gun.
I replied that she, then, should leave because I found her “sexy witch” costume offensive because she had cellulite.
Her response? “My costume isn’t offensive!”
So, who gets to decide?
