By now, nearly everyone knows what a “hero” Ahmed Mohamed is- at least in the eyes of Barack Obama, who has invited the youngster to the White House to celebrate his newfound celebrity. While it’s appealing to jump out in front of stories such as these and mindlessly react, as have MIT, Microsoft and NASA- all of whom who have reached out to the new hero- it’s better to wait for the dust to settle and let the truth be seen.
This event was orchestrated from minute one.
The young Mohamed did not build the clock. He ripped the guts out of a RadioShack digital clock and called it his own:
I found the highest resolution photograph of the clock I could. Instantly, I was disappointed. Somewhere in all of this – there has indeed been a hoax. Ahmed Mohamed didn’t invent his own alarm clock. He didn’t even build a clock. Now, before I go on and get accused of attacking a 14 year old kid who’s already been through enough, let me explain my purpose. I don’t want to just dissect the clock. I want to dissect our reaction as a society to the situation. Part of that is the knee-jerk responses we’re all so quick to make without facts. So, before you scroll down and leave me angry comments, please continue to the end (or not – prove my point, and miss the point, entirely!)

Mohamed keeps calling his RadioShack clock an “invention” when it plainly is not.
The teacher Mohamed originally showed the clock to warned Mohamed not to show it to other teachers.
So on Sunday night, he quickly put together a homemade digital clock (“just something small,” as he casually put it to the Dallas Morning News: a circuit board and power supply connected to a digital display) and proudly offered it to his engineering teacher the next day.
But the teacher looked wary.
“He was like, ‘That’s really nice.'” Ahmed told the Dallas Morning News. “‘I would advise you not to show any other teachers.'”
Not only did Mohamed ignore that advice, he brought it to English class and plugged it in. It began beeping, and when Mohamed showed the annoyed teacher the device she said “it looks like a bomb.”
Why did Mohamed ignore the Engineering teacher’s advice?
Why did Mohamed bring the clock to English class?
Why did he plug it in and start the beeping?
Why was Mohamed so evasive upon questioning?
It was all part of the plan. Meet Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed. ElHassan is an “anti-islamophobe activist” and self-styled defender of the Quran.
Flashback, 2011:
When Florida pastor Terry Jones finally made good on the threat he’d been toying with in the press for months, to burn a Quran in his church, it set off days of deadly protests in Afghanistan. And while U.S. military officials and lawmakers work to undo the damage he caused, and President Obama condemns the book-burning, Jones is seeking retribution. His church in Gainesville, Florida, denies responsibility for the riots.
There is a Dallas man involved in all of this: Sheik Mohamed Elhassan, who played defense attorney in Jones’s mock trial and failed to sway the “court” at the Dove World Outreach Center. He’s the man referred to in most news reports simply as “a Dallas imam.” And he’s not shying away from the controversy. As a matter of fact, he says, he is looking for a local church where he can mount an appeal.
ElHassan twice ran for President of Sudan, in 2010 and 2015.
ElHassan is a publicity hound, the son was the vehicle. The younger Mohamed offers a clue:
“Before I was really scared that no one was really going to care about me cause I’m Muslim and now everyone wants to interview me because of what happened,” Mohamed said in an interview with WFAA-TV.
“I want to make sure this never happens to another child globally ever again.”
Globally? A 14 year old kid wants to make sure no Muslim child is ever questioned for his actions again? Globally?
Well, mission accomplished.
No more will the future Tsarnaev brothers be hassled for impressing the American people with their pressure cookers. Obama, MIT and NASA will see to it. Muslims are a protected minority, above the rules. Anything less will be Islamophobia and racism.

Ahmed says he built the “clock” to impress his teacher.
“I built the clock to impress my teacher,” Ahmed said. “But when I showed it to her, she thought it was a threat to her. It was really sad that she took the wrong impression of it — and later that day, I was arrested for it.”
Yet he didn’t show the teacher the clock when he got to class. He didn’t tell her he was bringing it. He plugged it in to let it make noise. He brought in a clock to impress an English teacher?

I think the whole event – and our collective response, with everybody up to the President chiming in, says a whole lot about us. We don’t care that none of us were there and knows what happened, we jump to conclusions and assume we’re experts. We care about the story, but we don’t care about the actual facts. Headlines and click-bait are far more interesting than thinking for ourselves. We like to point out other any bit of perceived injustice or discrimination we can find – it’s practically a new national past-time. We like playing victim, and we like talking about victims – so much so we sometimes find victims where none really existed. We also like to find somebody to blame, even when there’s nobody at fault. We like to play social justice warrior on our Facebooks and Twitters, posting memes and headlines without digging in behind the sensationalism, winning bonus sensitivity points in the forms of likes and re-tweets. Once group-think kicks in, we rally around hash tags and start shouting moral outrage in a deafeningly loud national chorus. The media plays us like a fiddle, and we don’t even notice we’ve all been had.
We’ve been had. We’ve been had by Ahmed Mohamed and his father. This is all about desensitizing America to the actions of Islam. It’s about instilling guilt. The useful idiots have all fallen into line, led by the President of the United States, who never misses a chance to seize upon and politicize stupidity. I do not expect that the media, having swallowed this fantasy whole, will be following up other than with more fawning accounts. They won’t dare chase the truth. That would be Islamophobic.

The family is blocking disclosure of the full police report and it is also reported that Obama tweeted out “cool clock” before the picture of the device was publicly available. Once again, Obama sided with the perp against the police.

The writer pointed out something I noticed, too.
These were NOT raw circuit boards like a real inventor would be forced to use, they were commercial ones that had been designed around their use in THIS clock.
A raw circuit board would look boxy and be used by a tangle of wires as needed.
A custom one for this clock would be quite neat, saving much money because no extra wire would be needed.
Also the ArtVoice/TechVoice writer went to his knowledge of clock-making and realized exactly which old RadioShack clock this was bastardized from.
He included a link to an old EBay of that very clock style.
I made better stuff than that as a kid in my dad’s shop, but I never bothered to show any of it to a teacher.
In those days ”girls” were supposed to be making meals and thinking about making babies.

If General Motors had made that clock, an attorney could make the case that it was a blatant disregard for public safety. There was a reason that Radio Shack clock had a plastic cover on it, among other reasons, to prevent electric shock.. If the kid opened the case while it was plugged in, either to start the beeping or to stop it, there was an AC electrical hazard present that could have proven lethal to Ahmed or anyone who accidentally touched an exposed wire.
The kid showed poor judgment multiple times. He invented nothing. Most of the evidence points to him being either deliberately disruptive or not too bright.
BTW, I took off all the switchplates and outlet covers where I live. I think I invented “the house”!

Yeah, the teacher was so concerned that she put it in her drawer…for hours. The image circulating was AFTER the police tore the clock apart apart. As a military trained electronic “engineering” technician, I concur with your assessment. I have done plenty of electronic bread-boarding, designed and built various electronic devices from parts. (Including the rather messy and tedious process of laying out and etching circuit boards.) The only thing I would disagree with is a consideration that all such projects would be tangles of wires, but that is mainly because most technicians in my shop took pride in our work and built our devices neatly to NASA specification standards.
At any rate, the boy did not “invent” a clock, he simply changed the packaging. His presenting this clock as if it was “engineered” by him is a fraudulent claim. If the purpose of his construction was to engineer a project for a grade and I was his instructor, I would give him an “F” because that most certainly is not what he did.
What I find questionable, is that what the boy DID put together was what clearly matches the description of a “Hoax Bomb.” In my opinion neither the school personnel nor the police “overreacted,” because the general common-sense rule is that you treat what appears to be a bomb as if it is a bomb, until you have a trained expert on the scene.
If anything, the authorities “under-reacted” by not clearing all nearby classrooms of bystanders until fire-rescue crews and an ordinance expert could arrive on the scene. The latter to verify that there was no threat. Any lefty (like Reem) who thinks this is no big deal I suggest should try to follow the boy’s example and try going through TSA security with a similar “clock” and tell us all how jolly it is to play a practical joke on security.
After the long history of terrorists planting bombs in civilian areas to kill as many innocents as possible, I see nothing laughable about this, and I damn sure wouldn’t want my children attending any school with this kid, regardless of what his religious affiliation is.

What this boy did mirrors exactly what Islamic people have done through their history: conquer a new set of people and STEAL any of their scientific, mathematical, health, architectural and other inventions as if they came up with them on their own.
One historic example, not used often is the ”Islamic” dome. Domes are pretty common in Islamic architecture. When did they creep into Islam? When Byzantinians were conquered and enslaved. Their forced labor led to the first domed Islamic buildings. But Muslim architects could not properly design a dome even hundreds of years later. When a British protectorate wanted to raise up Muslim in their land they offered to allow Muslims to design their domes for new building projects. Not one Muslim ”expert” could do so. All their domes would have been dangerously unstable!
Muslims take credit for India’s math progress, too. Both algebra and zero came from India, not Muslims, but Muslims conquered enough of India to appropriate it.
This boy’s ”invented” clock fits the Islamic pattern of employing Taquiyya and Kitman (lying and deceiving) perfectly.
Personally, I think it’s all a scam perpetrated by the kids father. Wouldn’t be the first time a muzzie has used (maybe) innocent children for their own ends. It’s also quite possible the kid thought he *was* doing something noteworthy with the clock… he is a kid after all. These days, most of the hobby electronics seems to be done with modules wired together and programmed…. not like the crystal radios I made at the kid’s age. A lot of that stuff can look scary to the technologically illiterate. Your reading difficulty is not my error. Nor does it change the fact that very often children are by terrorists used as mules to carry actual bombs into public places. The Israel security forces as well as many of our military who have served in the Middle East are well aware of this practice.
You however wish to remain blissfully ignorant of the fact that not only are we in the US vulnerable to real package bombs, terrorists have for a good many years placed bombs in public places in the US. It is only a matter of time before they start using children as mules to carry out their dirty work.

MacArthur’s exemplary record
I am writing this in response to the recent case of Ahmed Mohamed. I am an American-born Muslim and resident of Irving since 1994. Both my siblings and, recently, my niece have all graduated from MacArthur. Since January 2015, my son has also attended the school.
Never through any one of my family members’ experiences have I heard of an act of prejudice or racism against them from MacArthur staff. In my own experience with staff, from Principal Daniel Cummings to the front office, counselors and math and science teachers, I have only been treated with kindness and respect.
The concerned public should be aware of the recent shootings on Aug. 29 in southern Irving by two students attending other high schools in Irving. It is no wonder that teachers and staff are on high alert. In this day and age, can we take any safety for granted?
I implore the concerned public not to judge MacArthur and its staff so quickly. Just as America-loving Muslims hope that we may not be judged as terrorists, we must also not be quick to judge this school as being racist. There is always more to the story than meets the eye.

There was no “PROJECT”—thus no need for the suitcase clock to be discussed with any teacher.
This particular school is less than 10% white, so charges of ”racism” are nasty lies.
The Mayor of Irving, TX (a town not far from the Garland, TX shooting) presents some interesting insights in the audio from the Sep 24 show clip.
One insight seems to be that Ahmed probably never had the conversation he claims to have had in showing off his “invention” to the teacher, but rather a teacher simply found the suitcase and reacted to the suitcase, and did not know who the suitcase belonged to thus was NOT reacting to Ahmed!
Also in that clip:
*Garland, TX is near by Irving, TX, and CAIR is attempting to set up Islam tribunal courts, thus the Mayor is helping to enforce a measure to protect the constitution and U.S. law.
*The clock stunt was planned with CAIR.
*The family is ignoring any requests to cooperate.
*Irving Mayor discusses that the kid is a constant “no-show” at scheduled meetings.
Apologists for this kid remind me of the SF tranny in the rainbow burka with the sign ”Solidarity with Muslim LBGTQ.”
Such silliness can only work here, not there.
