Bill DeBlasio is doing America a real favor. He is showing us all that under socialism what a wonderful world it would be. DeBlasio reached puberty under the watchful eyes of the Nicaraguan Sandanistas. He also honeymooned in Cuba. The guy is a dyed in the wool socialist. He’s brought socialism to the city of New York and it’s been something to witness.

New Yorkers are not happy with the quality of their living experience at the moment:

New Yorkers believe quality of life in the Big Apple is rotting at the core, a new poll revealed Thursday.

Only 33 percent of Gotham residents said life here is “very good” or “good,” the lowest number Quinnipiac University has measured since it first polled on the topic in 1997.

As exposed by The Post, quality of life has gotten worse in just the past few years, according to 49 percent of respondents. Just 19 percent said it’s gotten better and 32 percent believe it’s the same.

Mayor Bill de Blasio’s handling of crime got dismal reviews. Just 40 percent approved and 52 percent did not.

The poll found that 46 percent of New Yorkers believe crime is a “very serious” problem — and 44 percent said it’s “somewhat serious.” Just 8 percent said “not very serious.” Those are the lowest numbers in that category since May 2008.

“The quality of life in New York City isn’t good and it’s getting worse, many voters think,” said Maurice Carroll, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University poll.

An outbreak of Legionnaires Disease has claimed ten lives so far.

Public urination has reached nearly epidemic levels. This the consequence of DeBlasio and his fellow socialists insisting on looking the other way for these pissy offenses.

It gets even better:

The glass facade of Cooper Union’s $111 million academic building offers a remarkable view — of a back alley packed with vagrants.

“I have seen drug deals, public urination, defecation, masturbation in broad daylight in the Taras Shevchenko alley,” a Cooper Union faculty member told The Post.

“It’s a place where many homeless congregate to sleep — right in front of a church and between a high school and a college,” the faculty member added.

Students, visitors to the East Village building’s multiple art galleries and even small kids who attend Preschool of the Arts housed at Cooper Union are greeted daily by a motley crew of drifters who bunk down on the pavement along Taras Shevchenko Place from about sunset through the morning rush hour.

And one has to think twice about taking pictures:

“If I ever see you or that photographer again, I’ll kick the s–t out of you,” he threatened.

There is a little bit of good news however. They city of New York has available a chart highlighting the public drinking and urination hotspots.

NYPD bosses have pinpointed the two dozen worst spots across the city for a “quality of life” crackdown on offenses like public drinking and urination, according to an internal document obtained by The Post.

The chart, handed down by Chief of Department James O’Neill, highlights three hotbeds of bad behavior in each of the city’s eight patrol zones in order to more effectively deploy rank-and-file cops.

Targeted areas include places exposed by The Post — Tompkins Square and Washington Square parks and East 125th Street between Park and Lexington avenues.

Broadway between West 68th and 72nd streets and a corner near the Coney Island beach are also on the list.

You have to hope New Yorkers are enjoying the fruits of their choices and a clear example of what your future would look like under socialism.

It looks a lot like Venezuela, which isn’t all that far from Nicaragua.

I wouldn’t sh*t you about this.

    In SF, also a bastion of socialist ideals, people are told to urinate on fire hydrants instead of lamp posts.
    Why?

    Concerns about San Francisco’s decaying light poles were ignited Monday night after one corroded by urine toppled onto a car, narrowly missing the driver.

    Public Utilities Commission spokesman Tyrone Jue said, “We encourage people to do their business in other places, like a proper restroom or one of our fire hydrants, which are stronger and made out of cast iron.”

    Last year, the SF street light budget increased tenfold from $500,000 to $5 million for maintenance and replacement of the corroded poles.

    News flash to tbaggers; we are a moderately heavy socialist country already. The problem is the oligarchs who have purchased our democracy is doing a good job convincing the overtly stupid people on the right to be suspicious of anything that even marginally helps average Americans. You know, things like fixing our roads, maintaining our schools, fire departments and police forces, not to mention our evil ‘government run’ health care system, lol! Keep voting for them, you idiots and watch your children enter the new poverty class in short order.

    @Reem:

    And who has been in the Oval Office for goi g on 7 years? Who controlled Congress from 2007 until 2010? Who implemented the policies that brought us from $10.8 trillion in January 2008 to the $17+ trillion we have now?

    the NYC city jail cots about 300$ per person per day. how many do you want to lock up? Shelter bed space runs 100 per night. How many more beds do you want to make available. Criminalizing homelessness costs more than relieving it.

    @Reem: Ahhhh, another case of rectal-cranial inversion appears seems to be rather prevalent among your kind, reamed. Perhaps it’s the constant inhalation of methane. Dr. John you’re opinion please.

    @Nicolas: Urine is extremely corrosive, Nicolas.
    Galvanized steel would NOT corrode but stainless steel and painted steel corrode easily.
    Add to the SF mix: it is by the sea and the brine in that atmosphere speeds up the process.
    When we lived in LB we saw the bridges over the Ports (of LB and LA) constantly being painted to protect them from corrosive ocean spray.

    John, when you are finished with evoking the spirits of Dix and Hull, why not try and live in New York City ,than you can wax eloquently about economic costs.

    @Nicolas: uric acid is found in dog, cat and human urine. Uric acid is highly corrosive. The number of people urinating on the pole including animals, would determine the length of time to corrode it.

    @Reem: Every one of you opinions/programmed responses was gained from Fox News Left (ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN/MSNBC/NYT/CC/etc.).

    You look worse than a tbagger right wing nutjob…you’re the same, but on the left.

    Think, and stop proving the left is outlawing rational, free-thought.

    (How f*ucking stupid can you be to vomit news talking points while accusing others of vomiting news talking points?)

    Run on home, boy/girl.

    @Nanny G:

    True, but it still looks like a city legend.

    The thing about socialism and toilet trouble is hard to miss. Currently I live in Chile, ruled by a bunch of “progressive” Obama’s buddies. Crime is not so high here, but streets are, well, tricky to walk… One has to watch his step constantly as natives and animals have no lamppost/hydrant preferences, doing their business wherever the need gets them. No one, especially officials seem to care but they obviously have enough funds to spawn useless bicycle terminals like mushrooms all over the city. Indeed, why one needs to care about cleanness when there is a fancy greenie agenda to push?

    Another HUGE problem is that this insane Mayor vilifies hero police officers and celebrates thugs with lifelong criminal records as “Good men.” Now, even when the police do respond to these issues they risk not only getting hurt or killed, but getting prosecuted for using completely legal force to arrest a resisting animal who simply needs to comply to avoid injury. Cops have batons for a reason and they are allowed to use them exactly as instructed against a resisting criminal (and right or wrong, once someone resists, they ARE a criminal). Once you embolden criminals, they will do as much as they are allowed to do, until they are stopped by an outside force.

    Chile or the USA?
    I was living in Long Beach, CA when the feds made huge amounts of highway funding available IF the City would use most of the cash for dedicated bike lanes and parking for bikes.
    Gridlock ensued but who cared?
    We had empty bike lanes while cars and buses waited hours to wend their way through the downtown.
    We were glad we could retire early and move away.

    Same story now in Seattle!

    @Reem:

    Your level of leftist indoctrination is readily apparent. How typically dishonest that you cannot refute the facts presented, so you throw out the tired talking point distraction “Fox News!” as if that is a valid argument. All it shows is that you are incapable of actually debating facts and reason.

    Which is, along with complete dishonesty, a constitutional aspect of being a leftist.

    @Nanny G: Why don’t they suggest they piss on the illegal immigrants? Maybe that would help drive them out of the city and back home.

    @Reem:

    News flash to tbaggers; we are a moderately heavy socialist country already.

    News flash to left wing idiot apologist: we already know how much socialism we have; that’s why everything is so f***ed up. HELLO?!?

    The GOP controlled congress for all but Obama’s first few months before Kennedy died.

    Are you a liar or just stupid? TWO YEARS, Reem. Obama had all of Congress for TWO YEARS. All he accomplished was Obamacare, the worst piece of legislation known to man.

    @john:

    How about applying some intelligent solutions to our economic problems (instead of the same old left wing socialism) and give people the opportunity to stop having to piss outside? I don’t suppose that has occurred to you yet.
