Brian Moore is dead.

He was shot in the face two days ago. Moore was 25 at the time of his death. Since joining the NYPD five years ago he made 150 arrests and was awarded two exceptional police service medals and two meritorious police service medals.

Here is the ABC News account of the story. Go read it. I’ll wait.

Notice anything missing?

Here are the accounts of the Michael Brown shooting.

CNN:

Monday was supposed to be Michael Brown’s first day at technical college. Instead, his parents were planning his funeral.

The 18-year-old was shot by a police officer in a St. Louis suburb on Saturday, sparking a federal civil rights inquiry, local protests and national debate.

One side says the African-American teenager was surrendering, his hands in the air to show he was unarmed, when the officer opened fire. Authorities counter that Brown had attacked the officer in his car and tried to take his gun.

CBS:

Unarmed black Mo. teen shot after altercation, police say

NBC:

Michael Brown, an unarmed black teen, was shot and killed by police in Ferguson, Missouri.

NY Times:

Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager who was killed by a police officer, sparking protests around the nation

CBS

Residents of a St. Louis suburb were outraged Sunday after a police officer shot and killed an unarmed black teenager.

OK, now for some facts. More whites than blacks are killed by police every year.

The number of cops killed by firearms jumped by 56% in 2014:

The number of law enforcement officers killed by firearms in the US jumped by 56 percent this year and included 15 ambush assaults, according to a report released Tuesday.

The annual report by the nonprofit National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund found that 50 officers were killed by guns this year, compared to 32 in 2013.

In all, the report found that 126 federal, local, tribal and territorial officers were killed in the line of duty in 2014. That’s a 24 percent jump from last year’s 102 on-duty deaths. Shootings were the leading cause of officer deaths in 2014 followed by traffic-related fatalities, at 49.

This is accused Brian Moore shooter:

A white cop is dead at the hands of a black shooter. And it causes not a ripple in the media. It’s not mentioned anywhere. That’s because white lives don’t matter. You can always tell the ethnicity of a perpetrator when a shooting occurs because it’s not mentioned in the media report. A cop’s ethnicity is unimportant when that ethnicity is white. The shooter’s ethnicity is unimportant when a white person is shot. Reverse that and it’s a world headline.

It’s disgusting. The media is completely out of its collective mind and absolutely reeks of political correctness. Either mention ethnicity all the time or don’t mention it at all. I don’t care which they choose but they need to stop being the execrable idiots that are now.

Michael Brown got national moment of silence.

Bet you a lot of money Brian Moore doesn’t get one because his life doesn’t matter. He was the wrong ethnicity.

Your post is sad but true. Don’t cops and white lives matter too?

If only we had a non-corrupt media somewhere, we would be hearing the actions of Sharpton, Obama and Holder are responsible for increase threats on cop’s lives… and the loss of cop’s lives.

More whites are killed by the police than blacks because white people represent a far larger portion of the total population.

Non-Hispanic whites comprise comprise 63.7 percent of the population. Hispanics comprise 16.4 percent of the population. African-Americans comprise only 12.6 percent of the population.

The issue is one of comparative rates, not comparative overall numbers. The likelihood of being killed by the police is much greater if you’re black.

@Greg:

Oh really? Then how do you explain the statistics that show a larger percentage of blacks shooting people than the percentage of blacks in the population?

@Greg:

The issue is one of comparative rates, not comparative overall numbers. The likelihood of being killed by the police is much greater if you’re black.

True. Because blacks are responsible for a disproportionate number of the crimes. But, the fact is that it is not only blacks who are killed by police… it’s just that when a black is killed, the racist left uses it for political gain.

@Greg:

This is pretty straightforward

@Greg:
You have a MUCH greater probability of being killed by another black if you are black than by police of any color.

@Pete, #4:

If you’re a white person, your odds of being murdered by another white person are 6 times greater than your odds of being murdered by a black person. I’d keep my eyes on the white people, if I were you. They clearly represent a far greater danger.

The foregoing statement is totally accurate. The point being that you can put whatever spin you want on statistics.

To make matters even worse, it would appear that white people are more paranoid and more likely to engage in acts of unprovoked violence. While I have no statistics to back that theory up, here’s a strongly suggestive anecdotal report: Black Man Lawfully Carrying Gun Gets Pummeled by White Vigilante at Walmart

@Greg:

Mother Jones? Really? You actually read that rag?

What you won’t find in Mother Jones is the story of the recent stabbing of a white off-duty police officer, and a woman to boot, by a black man who stabbed her 14 times and she will probably lose an arm due to her injuries.

You only like those “news” sources that subscribe to your own leftist agenda.

How often do you intend to prove you’re an idiot?

@Greg: But blacks are 1/10th of the population, Greg.

To make matters even worse, it would appear that white people are more paranoid and more likely to engage in acts of unprovoked violence.

When you have a few hours, search this: blacks beat white for no reason. It wasn’t as much a problem until Obama began stirring up racial animus.

Keep digging.

@Bill, #10:

Stories are not statistics.

You can find a true story to rationalize believing just about anything. “Black Man Lawfully Carrying Gun Gets Pummeled by White Vigilante at Walmart” was an example. If you don’t like the source, you can read the same report in the Tampa Bay TImes.

Statistics demonstrate that if you’re white, your danger of being shot and killed by another white person is around 6 times greater than that of being shot and killed by a black person. This is a very straightforward, unambiguous statistical reality. The numbers show it to be true.

There’s another statistic that reveals a truth some people are bound not to like. Carrying a gun increases a person’s risk of being shot and killed. If you carry a gun, the likelihood that you will be shot and killed by someone else is over 4 times higher than your odds of being shot and killed if you don’t.

@Greg:

Statistics demonstrate that if you’re white, your danger of being shot and killed by another white person is around 6 times greater than that of being shot and killed by a black person.

According to FBI stats for 2012, the last year available, out of every 100 whites murdered, they were murdered by 83 whites and 17 blacks.

Out of every 100 blacks murdered, they were murdered by 91 blacks and 9 whites.

You remain an idiot.

@Greg:

Stories are not statistics.

Now, I am fully aware that you are more comfortable with “statistics” that are merely fabricated out of thin air, but in the real, factual world, where do you think “statistics” come from?

Time’s up…. they come from EVENTS (or, “stories”, as you put it. Of course, you opened with a “story” and I countered with thousands… but be that as it may, your premise is…..

Silly and weak

Most of the thin air around here would appear to exist between people’s ears.

That’s all your autobiography we need to hear.
