Harry Reid’s Cancer Bimbo Eruptions

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

It’s getting worse. It’s a malignancy. It’s a vast right wing conspiracy.

In what is one of most ghastly actions I can ever remember seeing from a member of Congress, Harry Reid took to the floor of the Senate and said cancer patients were faking it and called the Koch brothers “un-American.”

“Despite all that good news, there’s plenty of horror stories being told. All of them are untrue, but they’re being told all over America,”

Reid says these cancer patients are liars. They’re faking it. They’re part of a conspiracy.

Cancer victim Julie Boonstra, who Reid said was faking it, continues to insist that she has cancer and wants an apology from Reid.

Boonstra forcefully asserted her honesty and told host John Gibson she demands an apology from Sen. Reid:

JULIA BOONSTRA: He is saying, in my opinion, that I am a liar and that the people who have come forth who have had, you know, a negative outcome due to Obamacare, that we are liars and we are telling tales, our stories are untrue,tThat’s not the case, he is not in reality. He is not listening to the people. Obamacare – it drastically has affected my life. I believed the president when he said that if I had a health care plan that I liked, I could keep it. That was the lie. I am not lying.

This is Johanna Benthal. 89 surgeries. Obama took her health care away. Reid said she’s faking it.

Her story is here:

The Koch brothers have become the new Jews to Reid’s and Obama’s Fourth Reich. He called them “un-American.”

“It’s too bad that they’re trying to buy America, and it’s time that the American people spoke out against this terrible dishonesty of these two brothers who are about as un-American as anyone I can imagine,”

“As un-American as anyone I can imagine.”

Traitors.

Nasty stuff. This coming from the floor of the Senate.

Obama has singled them out by name. Reid has singled them out by name.

This is abominable and in tolerable behavior. Never in my life have I previously witnessed a President and a Senate leader single out, vilify and demonize United States citizens by name. Asserting that cancer patients are faking their diseases as part of a vast conspiracy is shameful. Of course, all of these actions constitute one giant red herring meant to distract from the problems created by Obama and Reid and their band of merry sycophants. This is a terrible turn in politics and they will rue the day they stated this. Those who voted for this Reid monster should hang their heads in shame. He is a vile human being. The Koch’s are breaking no laws. Calling them “un-American” is despicable and using the Senate floor to do it is unimaginable.

Fascism grows in this country- under the banner of the democrat party.

The truth about the Koch brothers can been found here. There’s more to be said about donors and lists. Stay tuned.

What’s the big deal?
This is the Alinsky method. Personalize and destroy.
And anything which does not contribute to the wealth of Dirty Harry is un-American. He is America.
He became a multimillionaire by serving the public. ???
Just how did he do that? He owns most of Nevada. He owns the voting machines. Does it surprise you that he wins elections? Stuffing ballot boxes is easy when you own the machines.
So the Koch brothers will lose their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. They must be sacrificed, because the regime must roll on. Socialism is the wave of the future.
Don’t get in the way of the juggernaut. It will eat you alive.

What is so stunning is the silence of the mainstream media.

The lies that have been told about Obamacare’s negative consequences go mostly uncovered. ABCBSNBCNNPRPBS continue to cheerlead. Reid can tell just about any lie and it’s just fine with the media. It’s unbelievable what’s happened.

Johanna Benthal’s mom was on TV this AM.
She wants MORE than an apology.
While Johanna had yet another surgery TODAY, her mom wants a $30,000 gift to the charity that aids this family with their medical bills along with the apology.
I pointed out how Reid went onto the senate floor when the place was empty and ”revised and extended his remarks,” to say that he didn’t know if ALL the stories were lies but he believes MOST of them are.
Not good enough.
I hope EVERY one of those listed here:
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2014/02/harry-reid-goes-around-the-bend-on-obamacare.php
demands the same thing Johanna’s family is demanding:
a full apology AND financial renumeration toward their bills.

harry reid is a jackass.

ok Nanny G come after me for calling names. 😉

Yes, Harry – I bet those cancer patients you called out by Name, and who are now washed in your extreme liberal hatred… WISH they were ‘faking’ it!!

My god you are shameless! Reid did not say cancer patients were ‘faking’ it. And he is not the one who has found that all the anti ACA ads sponsored by the Koch Brothers are lies:

The true “horror stories” of health care have actually partially been eradicated thanks to Obamacare. Granted, it isn’t by any means perfect but those imperfections are largely due to GOP obstructions and sabotage.

The true horror stories are those of people being sent home to die, facing death panels, having their health decisions made from other than their doctors, and having health coverage unattainable and/or unaffordable prior to PPACA.

@Ronald J. Ward: What a happy face you put on a monumental disastrous failure. Further, does Reid not realize that the unions AND the helper of the Nazis to wipe out his own people Soros contribute more to Democrats than the Kochs do to Republicans? Each?

‘Evil’ Koch Brothers Rank #59 in Political Donations Behind 18 Different Unions

What am I saying; Reid realizes nothing, he fabricates his own reality. Like any good liberal.

Cancer victim Julie Boonstra, who Reid said was faking it, continues to insist that she has cancer and wants an apology from Reid.

The supposed facts presented in the attack ad Julie Boonstra appears in have been documented by the Detroit Times to be lies.

Many such stories that the right has been promulgating have proven to be total bullshit.

Harry Reid owes no one an apology.

The right is so freakin’ far out of touch with reality at this point that they couldn’t tell lies from the truth, even if they cared about the difference. Birth certificates, Benghazi, the IRS, Obamacare, whatever, it’s all the same. I’m reminded of Captain Willard’s observation in Apocalypse Now: “Oh man… the bullshit piled up so fast in Vietnam, you needed wings to stay above it.”

That’s what we’ve got here. A growing tsunami of bullshit, rising so rapidly that no one can possibly take every lie on. It’s like a damn hydra. You cut off one lying head, and two instantly grow back.

The funny thing is that the people who tell the lies claim everyone else is a liar, and the people who swallow them hook-line-and-sinker are totally convinced that anyone who doesn’t is either gullible or part of the conspiracy.

Who can blame Harry for generalizing? There are a few exceptions, but the generalization is pretty much dead on target.

@Ronald J. Ward:

That entire post is nothing but leftist propaganda, RJW.

“If you like your doctor, you can keep him.”
“If you like your insurance plan, you can keep it, PERIOD”
“If you make less than $250,000 a year, your taxes will not go up a single dime.”
“Under my plan, the cost of health insurance will go down an average of $2500 a year for a family of 4”

Lies. Damnable ones at that, caught on video, and you know it.

Roughly 75% of doctors in California refuse to accept patients with obamacare insurance. The cost of obamacare plans are more expensive and force people to pay for coverage they will never use (maternity coverage for 50 year olds is just one example) , and the deductibles people are required to pay under obamacare range from 2 to 5 times what they had to pay before obamacare. The original CBO estimate that obamacare was going to cut the deficit by a trillion dollars has been revised to ADDING at least 800 billion to the deficit. 6 to 7 million people got cancellation notices from their insurance companies last year, and only 4 million have “signed up” as defined by tbe government, with estimates that at least 20% of those have not paid tbeir first premium – meaning they are not really signed up. The mix of young “invincibles”, which needs to be 35-40% to even make the system viable financially is in serious trouble, as estimates are that barely 25% of those young people have signed up. These figures are easily found with a google search, and are not simply conservative talking points. Obamacare is an absolute disaster. Why on earth did the solution put forth in obamacare to the problem of 15% of the population that was allegedly uninsured require screwing up the insurance already covering 85% of the country? And if obamacare was going to be so damned wonderful for the economy, why has Obama illegally legislated 29 changes to the “passed law of the land”, including the employer mandate – until.after the 2014 elections?

When my brother was a Nevada radio talk show host, he interviewed Reid live on his program in Reno. Reid’s office sent over a list of approved questions for the interview. My brother completely ignored this softball list, and asked questions that his listeners were interested in. Reid balked, and during a commercial break insisted that my brother stick to the approved list. When my brother refused, Reid terminated the interview and walked out. He is a cowardly slimeball, so his behavior with regard to the people coming forward with complaints about the effect of obamacare is hardly surprising from the jerk who complained about the smell of citizens visiting the capitol. And let us not forget Reid’s despicable stunt over his false claims of Romney not paying his taxes, demanding that Romney produce his last 10 years of tax returns prior to the election. The man is absolute scum.

And isn’t it amazing hearing leftists accuse people of lying about the effects of obamacare, after that horrendously deceitful ad they put out accusing Romney of being responsible for the death of that former employee of one of Romney’s companies?

Reid’s comments are yet another clear example of leftist disrespect for truth and their total lack of integrity.

@Greg:

Classic leftist projection.

@Greg: “there are many”. You showed one, and not all that convincing at that. How about the thousands of others?

Reid says they are all lies. All. You support this Alan Grayson clone with one shaky example.

Face it, the left doesn’t care about pain and suffering, they only care about controlling the means of production and they are trying it 1/6th at a time.

Projection. Yeah, right. That must be it.

As I said, the Boonstra attack ad is a lie. A deliberate goddamn lie. It’s right there for the world to see, along with the facts that clearly demonstrate what it is.

Maybe this is an intelligence test. Or a test for sanity.

@Greg: “If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. PERIOD.”

Was that a lie? If so, what kind? A goddamn lie? From a goddamn liar?

@Greg: #8
“The funny thing is that the people who tell the lies claim everyone else is a liar, and the people who swallow them hook-line-and-sinker are totally convinced that anyone who doesn’t is either gullible or part of the conspiracy.”

Quoting conservatives discussing liberals?
Too funny, Greg!

@Bill Burris, #13:

“If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. PERIOD.”

Maybe Obama should have added a disclaimer, as was the custom of the prior administration:

THREATS AND RESPONSES: THE COST; WHITE HOUSE CUTS ESTIMATE OF COST OF WAR WITH IRAQ, December 31, 2002:

The administration’s top budget official estimated today that the cost of a war with Iraq could be in the range of $50 billion to $60 billion, a figure that is well below earlier estimates from White House officials.

In a telephone interview today, the official, Mitchell E. Daniels Jr., director of the Office of Management and Budget, also said there was likely to be a deficit in the fiscal 2004 budget, though he declined to specify how large it would be. The administration is scheduled to present its budget to Congress on Feb. 3.

Mr. Daniels would not provide specific costs for either a long or a short military campaign against Saddam Hussein. But he said that the administration was budgeting for both, and that earlier estimates of $100 billion to $200 billion in Iraq war costs by Lawrence B. Lindsey, Mr. Bush’s former chief economic adviser, were too high.

Mr. Daniels cautioned that his budget projections did not mean a war with Iraq was imminent, and that it was impossible to know what any military campaign against Iraq would ultimately cost.

The actual cost of the Iraq War, through fiscal 2013, stands at $1.7 trillion—34 times the Bush administration estimate—with future costs yet to be reckoned.

Of course one statement was a sales pitch having to do with expanding health insurance coverage to more Americans, while the other had to do with a war that also resulted in the deaths of 4,488 American military personnel. Maybe intentions and consequences should also be taken into account.

@Greg:

So thank you for admitting the leftist concept that a lie is perfectly acceptable to you if the INTENT is to advance leftist policies, regardless of the actual end results.

You included in italics the statement that it was not possible to estimate the cost of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. So that was hardly a deliberate lie.

More soldiers died in those wars under Obama than under Bush, by the way. And anyone who thinks soldiers won’t die in a war doesn’t really have an understanding of war. Any combat soldier knows that.

Greg

Mt brother worked in Nevada in a law-enforcement position. He knew Harry Reid very well.

Liar is the mildest description he has for the man.

My brother…

@Pete, #16:

You included in italics the statement that it was not possible to estimate the cost of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. So that was hardly a deliberate lie.

The part in italics was the disclaimer I was referring to, the use of which apparently gets a republican administration completely off the hook for talking a line of total bullshit. The consequences of such a misstatement—however serious or trivial they might be—are apparently not a consideration in determining the degree to which an administration is to be condemned for not remaining within the boundaries of literal truth. The Bush administration apparently gets off the hook because they took the playground precaution of announcing that they had their fingers crossed.

The war will cost under $50 billion, be over in a matter of months, and oil revenue will pay for the whole thing. (However, it’s impossible to know if this is true or not. It’s just what we’ve decided to tell you.) SO, let’s get the show on the road! After all, it’s only the invasion of a nation on the other side of the world that hasn’t attacked us, and has no capability of doing so. Oh, yeah. Almost forgot. 9/11! al Qaeda! Spreading mushroom cloud!

All OK. Because we had our fingers crossed when we said it.

@Greg:
Hate to pop your balloon about costs of war, Greg, but, when the Bush Admin was making those estimates Turkey was promising to allow us and our allied ground troops to flow through Turkey so as to pincer strike Saddam in a blitz from both north and south as well as sea and air.
All of a sudden, just as we were beginning the battle, Turkey rescinded its promise, necessitating the largest sea movement of ground troops ever in the history of earth.
Not only was the cost financially high, but it also allowed Saddam’s forces to retreat towards Turkey into the north, a move that should have been preventable.
Only because of this did the war drag on.
It would have been mere days or weeks, as originally planned.
Saddam would have been captured along with his commanders and Republican Guards types.
So, don’t blame Bush.
Blame those Turks.

@Greg: Let’s make a distinction between a WAR, in which once it begins, no one knows what the result will be and a LAW into which the results are written in. When Bush made his projections, they were based on their projections of the campaign, the resistance and the aftermath. While the projections were badly flawed, it is what usually results from government projections (the war on Poverty comes to mind, along with Medicare and Medicaid).

In contrast, Obama’s statements had the benefit of what his advisers were telling him the law was going to accomplish, and he KNEW it was a lie (find data that shows that Bush knew the Iraq war was going to cost many times his projections, and we can discuss this again).

So, Greg, the question stands (not withstanding your completely unrelated diversionary tangent). What kind of lie was it that Obama repeated hundreds of times?

@Greg: #19 OK, then, in the spirit of the way liberals spin events, the statement was completely correct. In fact, it overstated the costs.

For, in reality, the WAR was over in a matter of weeks and cost far less than $50 billion. What consumed all the time, money and blood was the INSURGENCY, which was not part of the plan.

It is a pitiful fact that liberals cannot get past their hatred of Republicans to see what a dire threat WMD’s falling into the hands of terrorists and making their way to a US city was and how Bush obsessed about the safety of the country (when 9/11 happened, he didn’t just go to bed like someone else I could mention). For instance, what was the overriding concern that prompted our involvement (and play-like involvement) in Libya and Syria? It was, of course, their WMD’s falling into the hands of terrorists. Why can the left demand immediate action to imaginary threats like global warming and blithely ignore real and present danger such as chemical and biological weapons being made available to murderous terrorists? Have you never heard of priorities?

Besides, had they said “$50 billion… PERIOD!” you could have an argument.

@Bill Burris: @Ronald J. Ward: What a happy face you put on a monumental disastrous failure. Further, does Reid not realize that the unions AND the helper of the Nazis to wipe out his own people Soros contribute more to Democrats than the Kochs do to Republicans? Each?

Soros doesn’t even come close to what the Koch brothers give to sabotage our Democracy;
https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2010/09/opensecrets-battle—koch-brothers.html

And your link proves they are still the number 1 private contributor. Unions help average Americans. Koch works to destroy the middle class.

And really, you discredited yourself when you used ‘nazi,’ you lunatic.

@Pete: ““If you like your insurance plan, you can keep it, PERIOD”

So….you’re OK having taxpayers continue pick up the tab for those who have junk insurance policies in which some didn’t cover hospital visits Or certain diseases? Or pre-exisiting conditions? Well, thanks to the screeching from the right, Obama capitulated and allowed these plans to continue for another year-SO YOU’RE PAYING FOR THEM!

@Pete: That’s a fairly long winded rant to only conclude with an admission that the dog ate your homework.

Like your doctor/ keep him. Check. Like your insurance/keep it-check. Taxes won’t go up, check. “Cowardly slimeball”,”false claims of Romney not paying his taxes”, Reid picks on your brother, everyone picks on Romney,cherry picked CBO numbers, and you’re not regurgitating right wing talking points. Check, check, check, check, and check.

If only you had tossed in 4 Benghazies, 3 ACORNs, a couple IRS nothingburgers you may have won me over.

Nothing in your rant counters or disputes my argument. Maybe that’s because the nonsense you folks are selling has no legs.

The true “horror stories” of health care have actually partially been eradicated thanks to Obamacare. Granted, it isn’t by any means perfect but those imperfections are largely due to GOP obstructions and sabotage.

Sure he did. He said “All are untrue” “Made up of whole cloth”

@DrJohn, #22:

Wow, Greg, I didn’t expect you to attack women cancer patients. That’s the democrat campaign plan- call Americans liars. Well, OK. Obama called Americans his enemies.

The fact that a person is afflicted with cancer has nothing whatsoever to do with whether they’re inclined to be truthful or not. The attack ad that Julie Boonstra appears in presents inaccurate and misleading information that adds up to a deliberate lie.

I suppose we could give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that she was somehow unknowingly exploited by Americans for Prosperity, though it’s hard to see how she wouldn’t have understood that her lines were very misleading. She surely knew, for example, that her monthly insurance premiums were actually reduced by nearly one-half as a result of the Affordable Care Act; she surely knew that she was continuing to see the same oncologist that she had seen before her insurance change.

@Greg: The fact that a person is afflicted with cancer has nothing whatsoever to do with whether they’re inclined to be truthful or not.

Are you, like Harry Reid, calling all these people liars?

CT Woman ‘beyond frustrated’: “Red tape and echoes of Obamacare’s early technological failures have created a potentially life-threatening crisis for a Connecticut woman forced to postpone surgery because her insurance coverage is in doubt. …Handler doesn’t want to risk a six-figure hospital bill by going through with the surgery while her coverage is uncertain.” (“Obamacare Glitches Forced Woman To Postpone Cancer Surgery,” Huffington Post, 1/10/14)

Handler had an appointment Thursday at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She couldn’t keep it. … [Her insurer] has been unable to confirm her enrollment into a new policy she purchased with the help of an insurance broker through her state’s insurance exchange, AccessHealth CT, in December. The delay in her treatment has been made worse by the bureaucratic nightmare Handler has endured in the long days since she signed up and paid her premium. ‘Six weeks after I was told what the protocol should be and what I needed to have done, I still have not had surgery; and, you know, with cancer, every day counts. So I am beyond frustrated,’ Handler said. ‘I was very anxious that I was waiting this long, and then to have it postponed is devastating to me.’” (“Obamacare Glitches Forced Woman To Postpone Cancer Surgery,” Huffington Post, 1/10/14)

I was insured. I think anyone who is going through a serious illness should have immediate responses. I shouldn’t have to wait months, weeks, to even be considered for surgery that I should have had weeks ago.’ Gracchi was forced to postpone her Jan. 3 biopsy and follow-up treatment at New York’s Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the largest private cancer center in the world, when her insurance rolled over into a new plan that was part of an exchange under the Affordable Care Act. ‘As of January 1, my insurance plan rolled over into a new ObamaCare plan that is part of the exchange and my doctors are no longer available in my network, so the surgeons that I was dealing with … I no longer have access to,’ Gracchi told Fox News. … ‘This is delaying all my treatment and surgery. @Nanny G, #28:

Are you, like Harry Reid, calling all these people liars?

If republicans are going to try to prove their case by relying entirely on anecdotal evidence, they should at least try to find examples where the verifiable facts match their claims.

I think nearly all of their criticisms of the Affordable Care Act are based on inaccurate interpretations, deliberate misrepresentations of the facts, and in some cases outright lies. They never present a compilation of examples with sufficient verifiable details to stand up to close inspection. If what they claim to be happening is as common as they say, they should have no trouble whatsoever doing so. What they’re doing is what they’ve continuously done for the past 5 years: mounted a propaganda campaign.

@Greg: If republicans are going to try to prove their case by relying entirely on anecdotal evidence, they should at least try to find examples where verifiable facts match their claims.

Greg, this takes a lot of chutzpa!
On your side are plants pretending to work for fast food places.
Paid protestors pretending to be what they are not.
Paid operatives who couldn’t even sign up for ObamaCare without intervention by Sebelius herself.
Bleeding heart operatives who travel all over the USA (on whose dime?) telling many variants of their life stories to make ”the rich” look bad.
And, most of all Harry Reid who lies with impunity.
This is not Reid’s first waltz as a liar, you know.
I wouldn’t jump to his defense so fast, greg.
He usually backs off eventually and that will leave you looking like a slobbering syncophant.

@Greg: Obama, in his SOTU message, told the story of a man who died because he lost his insurance. Turned out, the guy only lost his insurance for a short time, got it reinstated and lived 3 more years under treatment.

Not only anecdotal evidence, but anecdotal lies. This administration has done nothing but lie, to get elected and to pass legislation. It is known they lie and only those who accept lies as a matter of business support and defend them.

@This one: Well, no, as the data shows, Koch ranks 59th behind Soros and many different unions.

But, we still don’t have the media, the NSA and the IRS on our side as the liberals do.

@Greg:

You mean like Romney being called a tax cheat, liar, felon and murderer? Seriously?

Greg, I could not be happier about this. Reid has handed the Senate to the GOP. Cancer bimbos. You have to love it.

@drjohn: Sounds like an opening barrage in a true “War on Women”, the “War on Sick Women” front.

@Bill Burris:

Indeed.

“Have cancer? Harry Reid says you’re faking it”

@drjohn: As I showed with the links I posted, the left will not vett any story which they can spin into support for one of their failures. In the case of the guy who was supposedly kicked off his insurance and died as a result, I wondered why, if insurance was so bad and this problem was so widespread, why did they have to lie in order to find an example of what they were going to protect us from?

@VoteOutIncumbents: 2

What is so stunning is the silence of the mainstream media.

That’s not really stunning, it is actually the expected. The media is made up of a bunch of socialists that support the administration’s goal of destroying the country.

@Greg:

The actual war was over in a matter of weeks. The occupation has lasted years, because the military was given almost impossible ROE by political leaders. I don’t seem to recall republicans talking about oil revenue from Iraq paying for the war – though I remember the typical drivel from anti-American leftists about “No blood for oil” all over the place.

As usual, you are in high dudgeon over what you claim to have been an egregious lie over the cost of the war, yet you blithely ignore (and moreover give full thoated support) to the deliberate and outrageous lies of Obama and the entire democrat party in their push to takeover the US medical system.

You show again that leftists have no principles. None at all.

Harry Reid is correct. The ads paid for by the Koch brothers are deliberate lies. They’re part of an ongoing propaganda campaign intended to influence American voters by deliberately deceiving them.

Nor is the deception intended to bring about changes that will benefit mainstream America. (That, perhaps, being one thing that distinguishes a lie from a damnable lie.) It’s intended to put the average American in his or her proper place—as determined by those who stand to benefit the most by having them put there.

Has Anyone in America Actually Been Harmed by Obamacare?

The writer, an unabashed Obama supporter, is posing a rhetorical question with that article title. He admits that he would expect the answer to be Yes—that there surely must be some healthcare consumers who have been seriously disadvantaged as a result of the Affordable Care Act. He then raises the same point that has been on my own mind in reference to the spate of attack ads:

So here’s my question: if this is the best Americans for Prosperity can do, does that mean that no one is truly being harmed by Obamacare? Hell, I’m a diehard defender of Obamacare, and even I concede that there ought to be at least hundreds of thousands of people who are truly worse off than they were with their old plans. But if that’s the case, why is it that every single hard luck story like this falls apart under the barest scrutiny? Why can’t AFP find someone whose premiums really have doubled and who really did lose her doctor and who really is having a hard time getting the care she used to get?

If this is happening to a lot of people, finding a dozen or so of them shouldn’t be hard. But apparently it is. So maybe it’s not actually happening to very many people at all?

@Pete, #40:

You show again that leftists have no principles. None at all.

But we’re not the side rolling out the lying attack ads, are we? Nor are we the ones who have been continuously attempting to undermine each and every effort made by the democratically elected President of the United States, regardless of the issue or of the consequences to the nation, for the past 5 years.

@Greg: “But if that’s the case, why is it that every single hard luck story like this falls apart under the barest scrutiny?” Every single? Hyperbole much, liberals? The real question is, after 5 months of utter failure, why has it taken this long for the left to figure out how to fight back? And then, the best they can do is just call anyone that has suffered under this abysmal law a liar?

I think we actually know who the liars are. It’s who have been the liars all along.

@Bill Burris, #42:

I have yet to see any compilation of examples of identified individuals who have been seriously damaged by the provisions of the Affordable Care Act, accompanied by verifiable details that confirm this is what has truly happened.

If the damage is as widespread and serious as Obamacare critics allege, they should have no trouble whatsoever putting such verifiable evidence together. Yet they haven’t. Instead, they put together emotional attack ads containing allegations that fall apart the moment they’re subjected to close inspection. When the falsehoods are pointed out, they claim the people in the ads are being personally attacked.

This isn’t going to fly. If they’ve got real, verifiable proof, they should present it. No one can keep them from doing so if it’s really out there. They’ve got plenty of media access.

@Greg: “I have yet to see any compilation of examples of identified individuals who have been seriously damaged by the provisions of the Affordable Care Act, accompanied by verifiable details that confirm this is what has truly happened.” Seriously damaged? What constitutes “serious” damage and are we just to leave it up to the liberals to define this?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t remember Obamacare being sold as “not seriously damaging very many people”. Why is any level of damage to anyone an acceptable result?

You may or may not refute the fact that about 6 million have lost, against their wishes, the insurance they had and liked. You may or may not agree with the fact that many of those who have found replacement insurance have had to pay much more, both in premiums and deductibles. You may or may not agree that there are some that have serious illness that had insurance they lost and are now in a serious life or death situation. I would not be one bit surprised that you would deny it all. But the question remains, why is this law causing pain, discomfort and disruption for anyone? Millions have lost their insurance and most of the most onerous mandates have been delayed until the very liars that have brought this disaster upon us can get reelected. Why is that acceptable?

This law set out to insure 30 million (give or take a few million, depending on the audience). In ten years, the projection is there will still be 30 million uninsured. That sounds like failure. Why is this worth harm or damage to a single innocent citizen?

@Greg:

Nor are we the ones who have been continuously attempting to undermine each and every effort made by the democratically elected President of the United States,

We don’t elect people democratically here, this is a Republic. We use republicanism to elect people.

The United States is a democratic republic. The Constitution doesn’t specifically identify our system of government as one or the other. It lays the foundation for a system having the attributes of both.

Perhaps I wasn’t clear.

Harry Reid is a liar.

That is a statement covering everything he does.

Harry Reid is liar.

If you cannot accept this obvious truth, you know nothing about politics in Nevada and, indeed, the USA.

@inMAGICn, #49:

However that may be, Harry Reid is telling the truth about the anti-Obamacare attack ads. This is known to be the case because statements made in the the ads have been checked and have been demonstrated to be untruthful. There’s a purposeful pattern to the falsehoods that excludes any reasonable possibility of honest error.

Americans for Prosperity and a number of other righteous-sounding right-wing front organizations are deliberately and repeatedly promoting lies to further an agenda that’s contrary to the best interests of the average American. The Koch brothers are providing millions of dollars to pay for it. This isn’t personal opinion or a statement based on anecdotal reports. It’s an established fact. Unlike the claims they’re constantly making, there is abundant evidence supporting this conclusion. There’s what they claim the facts to be, and there’s what the facts really are. The two are markedly different.
