The Iran deal misleads (Reader Post)

iran deal kerry

The deal is a bluff.

Egos trying to establish legacy; just like Clinton/Albright/Carter with their Sunshine Policy*** that lead to N.Korea going nuclear. Which was a glaring mistake of foreign policy (and a reason why I went political). Instead of the light water reactor that N.Korea got, tax payers bequeathed “Iran will also receive access to USD 4.2 billion in foreign exchange as part of the nuclear deal.”

These are our modern Chamberlains.

There is no excuse to think our sworn enemies are going to abide by any promise.

I cry for the world today. Our political apparat are so removed.

This is an interim freaking agreement. Do I need to define interim?

in or for the intervening period; provisional or temporary

NYT:

…initial six-month agreement is MORE LIKELY to be followed by a series of partial agreements that CONSTRAIN Iran’s nuclear activities but do not definitively solve the nuclear issues.

6 month = interim. Then please define MORE LIKELY. And WTF does CONSTRAIN mean.

CNN: How about this headline (and boy do I love quoting progressive-utopian idiots), “Obama: Iran nuclear deal LIMITS ABILITY TO CREATE nuclear weapons.”

MSM:

President Barack Obama said late Saturday, the deal will “cut off Iran’s most likely paths to a bomb.”

Raise your hand if you know what a qualifier is: A word or phrase that precedes an adjective or adverb, increasing or decreasing the quality signified by the word it modifies.

‘More likely to constrain’; ‘limits ability’; ‘cut off most likely path’ – those statements masquerade as promise but qualify as fable.

DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT YOU HEAR. LIES. DECEIT. BULLSHIT.

Araqchi [Iranian nuke negotiation] emphasized that Tehran could not accept any deal that did not recognize Iran’s enrichment right.

Clandestine reactors/centrifuge enrichment centers LIE outside the arrangement of this agreement.

Like all other Obama promises, it comes with an expatriation date. We can keep our heath care and Iran won’t go nuclear.

The last time we had this great a deal was back in 1994. President Clinton, with the help of former President Jimmy Carter was able to get the North Koreans to sign an agreement whereby they would be given 500,000 metric tons of fuel per year, plus $4 billion to build 2 nuclear reactors for electricity.

Carter won the Nobel Peace prize for this. [tar and feathers – high IQ but still a nitwit who lacks common sense]

Newspapers and liberals were over joyed. Diplomacy and negotiation had succeeded in preventing war.

Fast forward to 2002. It is hard to hide a nuclear explosion. Two months into office President Bush ends the agreement with North Korea, having caught them building nukes. The North Koreans admit they have been working on nukes since 1994 or before.

So the 500,000 tons of fuel per year is ended; but the $4 billion is gone to build 2 nuclear reactors, which are now producing plutonium. So what did we get in return? A piece of wet toilet paper with the Dear Leader’s signature on it.

Who could have guessed that the Commies would lie to us???

What have we gotten from Iran? Another piece of wet toilet paper.

This kind of foreign relations stupidity may get millions killed. The Obama administration is like the Girl Scouts negotiating with gang bangers.

Sunday’s agreement to curb Iran’s nuclear program contains an apparent gap that could allow Tehran to build components off-site to install later in a nuclear reactor where it has promised to halt work, experts said.

For the half year covered by the agreement, Iran is barred from starting the reactor up, bringing fuel or heavy water to it, testing or producing more fuel for it, or installing any remaining components.

But no language explicitly prevents it from making components elsewhere, which could then be installed later.

Basically we have a faith-based agreement with people who live by deceit.
What part of Kitman and Taqiyya does Obama/Jarrett think we don’t know about?
The Taqiyya part whereby Muslims may lie openly as long as it promotes Islam’s goals including world dominance?
Or the Kitman part whereby Muslims may withhold whatever part of the truth they need to in order to promote their goals?

The Sunshine Policy was the catalyst that caused me to pay attention.

Shenanigans before the ink even dries

Someone is lying. Iran: White House Lying About Details of Nuke Deal; Iranian officials say White House fact sheet is ‘invalid’

Reuters broke the other day:

Iran will pursue construction at the Arak heavy-water reactor, Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif was quoted as saying on Wednesday, despite a deal with world powers to shelve a project they fear could yield plutonium for atomic bombs.

Iran is not a peace partner.

Their hand extends into the Horn of Africa with evidence they support al-Shabaab in Somalia.

“The Horn of Africa is kind of a launching pad for Iran to maintain its disruptive campaign on both the Arabian Peninsula and in Sub-Saharan Africa in a bid to destabilize existing regimes,” the same diplomat added.

For evidence, you just need to glance at numerous reports from one monitoring group on Somalia and Eritrea, set up by the UN Security Council (UNSC) Committee following resolutions 751 and 1907. There is an overwhelming body of evidence indicating that Iran has been providing direct and indirect military assistance to extremist groups in Somalia for years.

Again, someone is lying. Your choice: the One or the Saudis.

Saudis Lied To by US [Obama/Kerry], Pursue Independent Policy

The advisor, Nawaf Obaid, told a think tank meeting in London “we were lied to, things were hidden from us.

Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, said his country would not “sit idly by” if the West failed to stop Iran’s nuclear program.

Saudi nuclear weapons on order from Pakistan

The glorious policy by dear leader is going swimmingly well. Nuclear Saudi Arabia for the win.

Saudi Arabia has invested in Pakistani nuclear weapons projects, and believes it could obtain atomic bombs at will, a variety of sources have told BBC Newsnight.

Energy facts:

Saudi Arabia – the largest producer/exporter of petroleum with the highest production in the world. But the majority of their reserves are contained on eight fields.

Iran – 4th largest oil reserves and 2nd largest natural gas reserves, 3rd in production – and despite sanctions remains the second in OPEC oil producers/exporters. But granted they have only one refinery for gasoline and their oil is concentrated in majority within five fields.

mossomo
it’s looking dangerous, something’s wrong,
what ISRAEL WILL DECIDE, IS CRICAL,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR POST
AT LEAST WE GET TO KNOW,
WHAT IF IRAN SEEK CHINA’S HELP,

Saudi Arabia and Iran are fighting a proxy war…

The Saudis and Persians have been in a proxy war for a bit now.

You can definitely define this standoff as an Iranian/Saudi Cold War.

You’d think all the ‘experts’, ‘analysts’, ‘think-tanks’, pontificators, and others might-be’s might be able to admit, “Hey this (the sham iranian Peace agreement) might exasperate the almost Sunni Shia Civil Wars.”

Is it smart foreign policy to push the 1st and 2nd oil exporters closer to war, and not to mention foster inter-islamic civil tension?

Persian destabilization efforts:

The Gulf:

As George Friedman points out at Stratfor, … There’s Iran’s initiative to destabilize the Gulf in hopes of expanding its sphere of influence.

Syria – The corridor that connects Lebanon via Syria to Iraq and on into Iran. The antithetical of that is a corridor that leads Iran straight to Israels doorstep.

Syria (A Fars News Agency ie Iranian Press link):

Leader’s [Iranian]Top Military Aide: Turkey, Arabs Defeated in Proxy War in Syria

Yemen:

This week, Iran accused Saudi Arabia of state-sponsored “Wahhabi terrorism” in Yemen, while the most senior Saudi cleric accused Houthi rebels of being backed by Iran to spread Shi’a Islam in “Sunni Islam’s heartland.”

Bahrain:

Iran’s support for the Shiite-driven protests in Bahrain [United States has a naval base on the island] has inflamed tensions between Tehran and its Arab Gulf neighbors, most of which are ruled by Sunni royal families, and raised the prospect of a regional conflict.

Iraq

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Aug. 28 that his country is ready to fill the power vacuum in Iraq. Addressing a press conference in Tehran, Ahmadinejad said, “The political power of the occupiers is collapsing rapidly. Soon, we will see a huge power vacuum in the region. Of course, we are prepared to fill the gap, with the help of neighbors and regional friends like Saudi Arabia, and with the help of the Iraqi nation.”

Iran, “With the help of neighbors and regional friends like Saudi Arabia…”, Saudi Arabia would disagree:

Six mortar bombs landed near a border post in northern Saudi Arabia in an attack claimed by an Iranian-backed Iraqi Shi’ite militia, which said on Thursday it was warning the kingdom to stop meddling in Iraqi affairs.

Thanks Bees.

And Curt – thank you sir for the forum.

If I may, I’m gonna use this as a depository for link dumps and quote whoring as this whole coming affair stinks something like a wet tramp in Rotterdam – if you get my drift.

Weak foreign policy has unintended consequences. Or what if what I perceived as weak is actually calculated.

Palestinian spokeswomen Hanan Ashrawi was quick to demand that the U.S. and the rest of the international community treat Israel the same way they treated Iran. She called on the international community to “impose sanctions on Israel and hold it accountable with the same will that led to an end to Iran’s nuclear plan.”

Abu Rudaineh and other PA officials say they are encouraged by the deal with Iran because it would isolate Israel in the international arena and force it to make concessions to the Palestinians.

Some Palestinians see the Iran agreement as a sign of the “regression” of the U.S. Administration’s influence in the Middle East. They believe that now, as the U.S. role in the region has been weakened as a result of the accord, the time has come to pave the way for other powers to intervene in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The Geneva accord and Washington’s failed policies in Egypt and other Muslim countries have taught the Palestinians that it would be better to wait until the U.S. completely loses its influence so that other players such as Russia, China and the EU will step in to impose a solution on Israel.

New Iranian President is Moderate: Freedom of Speech says otherwise.

LNG Infrastructure and Stroitransgaz – a Gazprom subsidiary that specializes in LNG development. And it seems I have a soapbox against Qatar.

This could be a thread of its own, but I’m just throwing it up here for posterity. I don’t know if I’ll ever get around to polishing it. Usually I get incensed and fire an email off to the family, then think, “Hey, maybe this is good for FA consumption.” But then I got to a point, I don’t like to submit a thread if I can’t follow it. So…

This is an email that would have eventually met its fate in the recycle bin. I hope this provides some good jumping points for those so inclined.

I’m going to bring Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), Sunni infrastructure perspectives, Qatar, Muslim Brotherhood, Shia Crescent, and Russian interests all together.

(intro)

pt1: LNG Infrastructure

Egypt

Mubarak’s Egypt in the last decade was a major benefactor in building the Arab Gas Pipeline to supply LNG to its neighbors (Jordon, Lebanon, and Syria). The Suez has a facility to on/off-load LNG into the pipeline infrastructure.

Turkey

Erdogan’s Turkey similarly invested in their Nabucco Pipeline which allows the Turks to export energy from Turkey to Bulgaria, Romania, Hungry, terminating in Austria

Azerbaijan and other Central Asian Nations have invested to connect their LNG to Nabucco pipeline infrastructure to export gas to Europe as well.

Erdogan to further spread his eggs around, shortly after signing the inter-governmental agreement to set up Nabucco, signed a deal with Russia for the South Stream project to send Russian natural gas under the Black Sea to Bulgaria.

Turkey seems to be positioning itself as an energy conduit to Europe.

Saudi Arabia

The Saudis and Qatar in 2009 had positive regional talks about a LNG pipeline connecting with Egypt’s and Turkey’s.

Qatar

Qatar, a former province of Saudi Arabia, that sits on one of the world largest natural gas reserve: North Dome.

North Dome/South Pars reserve stretches 3700 miles across the Persian Gulf and by maritime borders is split about 2/3 & 1/2 btwn Qatar and Iran.

Western countries – ExxonMobile particularly – gave Qatar to tech to extract and chill LNG for export; Iran b/c of sanctions were not given the technology (Qatar returned the favor and was a major investor to expand a LNG facility at a port in Houston).

Qatar is only exporting 20% of their LNG capacity – logistically they have to ship it around Iran’s Strait of Hormuz and through the Suez as they do not have a pipeline to access the Mediterranean/European market.

Doha, Qatar

Doha is very important in the geopolitics of the Muslim Brotherhood. Doha has become the Spiritual Capital of the Muslim Brotherhood after absorbing waves of their migrations,

The first wave came from Egypt in 1954 after Nasser had smashed their organization. The next wave came from Syria in 1982 after Hafez el-Assad bombed their stronghold in Hama. The last group arrived after September 11, 2001 – from Saudi Arabia.

Doha in addition to funding and being the corporate headquarters of Al Jazeera (seemingly the mouth piece of the MB), Doha also hosts a Taliban Office [I offer the Taliban are the liaisons for AQ and the office helps coordinate these parties synergies to help affect all the Brotherhood Revolutions.

Of a similarly interesting note, the city hosts the Academy of Change, an organization and movement that is based on the ‘materials on nonviolent strategy and tactics in Arabic – inspired by the writings of Gene Sharp and Otpor, the student-led movement that helped bring down Slobodan Milosevic in 2000’.

Academy of Change members were involved in all the Arab Springs and/or had personal connections with the major shakers in the Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, and Syria revolutions (and on a side note, Gaza/Hamas and Sudan are ruled by the Brotherhood – all with affiliations with AoC too).

Muslim Brotherhood and Academy of Change work hand in hand, Al Jazeera acts as their cheerleaders – all financed my Qatar.

Iraq

Iraq was initially part of the regional LNG pipeline talks. They changed their minds in 2011 and joined the Shia Crescent.

Syria

Again – part of the regional LNG pipeline talks and changed their minds, joined the Shia Crescent.

Iran

Financiers of the Shia Crescent huge w/ energy supplies.

Shia Crescent

Iran-Iraq-Syria are all Shia run gov’ts. The three came together in 2011 with an agreement to fund the western dubbed ‘Islamic Gas Pipeline’, arabic dubbed ‘Friendship Pipeline’ to ship Iranian LNG from their South Pars (same reserve as Qatar’s North Dome) across Iraq into Syria with intentions to upgrade Syrian ports to support LNG exports to European markets.

pt2: Next part was to figure out the Russian perspective. That was a tough nut to crack:

Russia, Gazprom – Rus Energy Giant

I started with Gazprom. They supply Europe with the bulk of their natural gas. Easy starting point and was mostly a dead end. It was frustrating as Gazprom has an already existing ‘Friendship Pipeline’ [/= shia crescent friendship pipeline] somewhere nowhere near the Middle East, so my queries were misdirected.

Rus Energy press releases lead me in this direction.

Finally and eventually I found my diamond: Stroitransgaz.

Stroitransgaz: Rus LNG Infrastructure Builder – A Gazprom subsidiary

Researching ‘Friendship Pipeline’ kept leading me to Russian and Central Asian sources referencing Gazprom and a subsidiary named Stroitransgaz. Google auto-correct translated it to Stroytransgaz. Remember there are two pipelines named Friendship Pipeline. Looking for a more Arab angle, I plugged Stroytransgaz & Syian then googled. BAM – it opened the door.

All the following are press-releases from Stroytransgaz.

Stroytransgaz.com Press Release 2009: Moscow, Tehran to Sign Energy Road Map.

On the gas front, Moscow and Tehran discussed Gazprom’s participation in the giant South Pars project. “Iran has a positive attitude towards cooperation with Russia on LNG projects,” Shmatko said, adding that cooperation is also possible in third countries.

Stroytransgaz.com Press Release 2011: Iraq Finalizes Tender Terms for Syria Export Pipelines

Iraq has been finalizing the terms of engagement for the contract to construct two crude export pipelines and a gas pipeline through Syria.

Stroytransgaz.com Press Release 2011: Stroitransgaz has 80 Russian staff on the ground in Syria.

It [Stroytransgaz] is building a natural gas processing plant 200 kilometers east of Homs.

Another good take-away from the above said press release is the headline: Billions of Dollars of Russian Business Suffers Along With Syria.

Russian firms have a substantial presence in the Syrian infrastructure, energy and tourism industries. And with exports to Syria worth $1.1 billion in 2010 and investment in the country valued at $19.4 billion in 2009, there is a lot at stake.

pt: Wrapping it up

LNG

Egypt built a facility on the Suez to import (export too) LNG (into what they originally envisioned as the Pan-Arab Pipeline) into the Arab Gas Pipeline to supply LNG to gas deficit middle eastern countries.

Turkey’s Nabucco Pipeline pumps Central Asian LNG thru Europe terminating in Vienna, Austria.

Turkey and Egypt were to connect both their pipelines thru Syria or Iraq.

Saudi and Qatar had regional talks to connect a Qatar/Saudi LNG pipeline with Turkey and Egypt’s pipelines.

Turkey/Egypt/Saudi-Qatar had a gentleman’s agreement with Syria & Iraq to connect the three pipelines.

Syria and Iraq reneged on said agreements.

Instead – Syria & Iraq joined with Iran to create their own LNG export pipeline to Syrian ports.

Russia – Stroytransgaz – is heavily invested in the existing Shia Crescent LNG infrastructure.

Russia also has a vested interest in protecting their LNG monopoly to Europe

Doha, Qatar
* Muslim Brotherhood Refuge
* Corporate HQ of Al Jazeera
* Taliban Office
* Academy of Change
* Center of the ME revolutions

Conclusion.

Someone said it better than me: The Syrian conflict is just a shadow game for the real concerns: global position and energy, not Syrian oil. Russia’s strength abroad and at home relies heavily on its energy sector. With the United States continuing to advance in natural gas exports, Russia feels its global position being threatened.

My soapbox: Doha, Qatar is home of the Brotherhood and is the spiritual, financial, organizational, and propaganda capital of the Arab Spring, and has offices of radical Islamist elements.

FM: Iran Able to Resume 20% Uranium Enrichment in 1 Day

Farsnews link below

“The structure of our nuclear program has been maintained and the 20% enrichment can be resumed in less than 24 hours,” Zarif said, addressing the Iranian students in Tehran on Wednesday.

The AEOI chief stressed that Iran will continue its nuclear activities at Natanz and Fordo enrichment facilities and in Arak heavy water reactor and will also continue all its exploration, research and development projects according to the deal, reiterating that none of Iran’s nuclear activities would be brought to a halt.

Zarif underlined that the G5+1 has recognized Iran’s enrichment program.

He pointed to the agreement reached between Iran and the G5+1, and said, “Today’s agreement deals with several sectors, the most important of which is that Iran’s enrichment program has been recognized, and this program will continue.”

Korea and Iran develop new ICBM

IBD

As Bill Gertz of the Washington Free Beacon reports, groups of technicians from the Shahid Hemmat Industrial Group (SHIG), a unit in charge of building Iran’s liquid-fueled missiles, have made repeated trips to North Korea during the past several months, including as recently as late October, to work on a new 80-ton rocket booster being developed by the North Koreans,

That booster is believed to be the foundation for a new heavy-lift missile with intercontinental range and capable of carrying a large nuclear warhead. It would be far more capable than Pyongyang’s Taepodong or Iran’s Shahab missile series.

The booster was described by one official as a thruster for a “super ICBM” or a heavy-lift space launcher. “It is completely new from what they have done so far,” he added.

US says Iran involved in Iraq massacre

US intelligence officials believe that Iranian commandos took part in a deadly attack on a compound of dissidents inside Iraq and then spirited seven members of the group back to Iran, highlighting Tehran’s increasingly free hand inside Iraq in the wake of the US withdrawal from the country.

The September 1 attack on a base called Camp Ashraf killed at least 50 members of the Mujahedeen-e Khalq.

The recent suicide bombings in Russia reminds me of a Telegraph article from the summer.

Telegraph: Saudis offer Russia secret oil deal if it drops Syria

Saudi Arabia has secretly offered Russia a sweeping deal to control the global oil market and safeguard Russia’s gas contracts, if the Kremlin backs away from the Assad regime in Syria.

As-Safir said Prince Bandar pledged to safeguard Russia’s naval base in Syria if the Assad regime is toppled, but he also hinted at Chechen terrorist attacks on Russia’s Winter Olympics in Sochi if there is no accord. “I can give you a guarantee to protect the Winter Olympics next year. The Chechen groups that threaten the security of the games are controlled by us,” he allegedly said.

Prince Bandar went on to say that Chechens operating in Syria were a pressure tool that could be switched on an off. “These groups do not scare us. We use them in the face of the Syrian regime but they will have no role in Syria’s political future.”

The author of the Telegraph article has a website: thewatchtowers.com. He reported a couple weeks ago of an attempted rapprochement by Bandar bin Sultan, Saudi Arabia’s Director of National Intelligence.

Putin again rebuffed Bandar suggesting him to,

“abandon sectarian instigations and supporting terrorism, because it is a double edged sword that will rebound inside Saudi Arabia and gather momentum in a manner that you will not be able to control.”

How does this play in with Iran and the deal? Obama capitulated to the mullahs and the region has further polarized and now Russia is increasingly in Iran’s corner.

This FSB memo further states that both Russia and Iran are outraged over Saudi Arabia’s latest “donation” of $3 billion to the Lebanese army (twice the national military budget of Lebanon) made by Saudi King Abdullah while the Volgograd attacks were occurring.
