We have previously established that Barack Obama is the biggest liar as President in modern history. Now we will establish that Nancy Pelosi is unrivaled for the title of biggest liar as a member of Congress.
And she suffers from CRS Syndrome. On July 1, 2012 Pelosi was on Meet the Press and she uttered these famous words:

It was so obviously false that even the left leaning Politifact wasn’t buying. They rated her statement false, when in truth it should have gotten a “pants on fire” rating but those are usually reserved only for conservatives.

What really set me off about her flagrant lies was a statement in this story:

In it, she says:
“No matter what people say about whether they like their plan or not, their plan was not going to be their plan. Everybody’s premiums were going up.”
Talk about audacity. How about that? Pelosi “pushes back hard” about her own lies. In two sentences, she admits that she, Obama and every other democrat are liars and the democrat plot was always to take away your insurance.
Obama’s aides also encouraged him to lie because the truth wouldn’t sell.
So here’s the bottom line, the democrat mantra- the end justifies the means. For democrats, honesty is second to design. They have told and will tell you anything in order to further their clandestine agenda and you are not entitled even to know their legislative goals until they are codified.
The honest democrat is an extinct species. When they know what’s better for you than you do and lie to your face repeatedly to accomplish their own agenda this is no longer a free society and we are governed by frauds.
What’s next? Forced abortions for conservatives as amendment to Obamacare? Euthanasia for the GOP under the guise of improving care? Forced sterilization for red states? Don’t laugh too quickly. Let me introduce you to Obama’s science czar:

Are Democrat incumbents in trouble? While a pro-Democratic Party poll conducted by James Carville and Stan Greenberg’s Democracy Corps says no, Kevin Drum says otherwise at the liberal Mother Jones, Newsbusters’ Noel Sheppard said Friday.
Although the GOP brand has taken a beating thanks largely to constant propaganda and false reporting from liberal networks, Drum said that when one looks at approval/disapproval of actual members of Congress, “the picture turns sharply.”
“In Democratic districts, net incumbent approval has plummeted by 11 points, from +8 approval to +3 disapproval. In Republican districts, incumbent approval has gone down only 4 points. You see the same results when they ask a question about warmth of feeling toward incumbents: It’s down 7 points in Republican districts and 9 points in Democratic districts,” he said.
“This isn’t good news for Democrats,” he added.
Drum said that attitudes toward the GOP have “taken a bigger hit” than attitudes toward Democrats but, he added, “attitudes toward actual incumbents are exactly the opposite. And in elections, that’s what matters.”
We can only hope.

Doctors MUST Accept Medicare And Medicaid Patients.
At the Great Falls Grange debate, Democrat delegate candidate Kathleen Murphy said that since many doctors are not accepting medicaid and medicare patients, she advocates making it a legal requirement for those people to be accepted.
Granted, Ms. Murphy is just the 1st Dem to make this call.
But her HONESTY is refreshing.
She demands SLAVERY be brought back.
Screw doctors who are in a numbers’ shortage of between 45,000 and 90,000 depending on how you count.
Screw doctors who have to keep up gigantic malpractice premiums.
Screw doctors who would be forced to see patients at a loss per patient, never made up for by either government payments or private payments.

I started warning months ago on other posts that this would be the next step from these totalitarian thugs. This is the barest hint of what will be coming. A year ago NYT and similar papers/mags starting with the propaganda stories “US doctors overpaid” compared to socialist countries. Then they bring out the ridiculous UN reports that laughably claim socialist countries have “better” healthcare systems – though they don’t acknowlege the inherent bias of the metrics used to determine how “good” a nation’s healthcare system is. They ignore 5 year cancer survival stats, define “stillbirth” as any infant dying before 30 days of age…after delivery, thus ‘decreasing’ their infant mortality stats…which we do not do in the US.
Soon you will see physicians who oppose obamacare – and the pending efforts to force us all into a national socialist government controlled medical system- branded as greedy, nasty, evil and uncaring. This is prepping the battlefield by the leftists prior to pushing bills to enslave physicians – requiring physicians to take medicare/medicaid at whatever low payment rate they allow even when such rates cause the doctor to lose money and eventually go bankrupt – or not be allowed to practice medicine at all. You want to dramatically worsen the physician shortage? That is the way to do it, babycakes. Belize is looking more and more attractive everyday another obamacare national socialist thug spews out more of their totalitarian plans.
If we physicians were truly paying attention to this vile attack on the medical system by leftists, we would band together and immediately refuse to provide any medical care for any politician, their congressional staff workers, and their immediate family members unless they vote to repeal obamacare in its entirety. If the leftists actually succeed in passing laws forcing physicians to take medicare/medicaid patients, as physicians we may have no choice but to boycott providing any medical care to any supporters of such legislation. These arrogant leftists think national socialist health care is so great, let them go to Cuba and Canada to get their health care.
Once my kids are grown up and supporting themselves, I will certainly be leaving the practice of medicine if this type of fascism is allowed to be enacted. That’s in 5 years, and I am only 48. My colleagues who are in their mid-50s and above are already making arrangements to be out of medicine within the next 2-3 years if this insanity is not stopped.
Perhaps Greg, Richard Ward and This One should enroll in medical school ASAP. It will only be 7 years (at a minimum) before they will be able to practice medicine (4 years of med school and a minimum 3 years of residency in the field of their choice) so they can show those of us with actual experience in taking care of patients just how selfish, greedy and inhumane we are for not wanting to be enslaved by the government.

@Pete: I agree with you, but I have always been troubled by the med students and recent graduates who thought Obama Care was the answer to all the world’s problems. Some of those students are now working or finishing their training; I am wondering if the opinions of these idealists have changed or if they are still willing to live in debt for the privilege of being a doctor.
First, I’m not for the law ‘requiring’ doctors to take medicare patients, but if they pass a law doing something like that, it should have to stipulate that the payment from medicare/medicaid would be an average of payments made by normal insurance companies for the same procedures to that doctor. Tho that seems simple enough, an example would be that if a doctor receives an average of $135 for an office visit through a combination of co-pay and insurance, then medicare should pay $135. Any doctor should be able to turn down any patient for any ‘legal’ reason.

Single payer, and having doctors, nay, the entire medical system, beholding to the government has always been the goal. As it stands now, doctors are on the hook for the cost of their education and the cost involved in setting up a practice. So the government is off the hook for those expenses. But then comes along the AMA like a thief in the night, helping Medicare/Medicaid set up R & C for physician/medical care payments. And the AMA wonders why doctors are not only dropping out of their organization, but refusing to see Medicare/Medicaid patients. The bottom line? Physicians can’t afford to handle those patients and still meet office expenses. i.e. my GP, a personal friend, charges $60.00 for an office visit. His Medicare reimbursement is 80% of $48.75, R&C for his area. He gets $39.00 for a $60.00 office visit. I wonder if Ron Ward, Greggie and the one would be willing to take a 35% cut in pay for what they do.
So what happens when physicians, technicians, hospitals and clinics refuse to accept insurance assignments and require a patient to pay cash up front? “Yeah, you can use your Medicare. All you have to do is pay Dr. Smith up front and we’ll give you the paper work to file with Medicare to get reimbursed.” What happens when people find out exactly what they have to pay first before they can get medical treatment? What happens when the young mother, who drags her kid into the doctor’s office, or ER, for every bump and scratch, finds how much it is going to cost her and how long she has to wait before she gets her money, or part of it, back?
In Texas, as far back as 2010, only 48% of doctors accepted Medicare/Medicaid. It is not getting any better.
Health care is not a right. It is a commodity, just like anything else. Like groceries. Is the government going to start demanding that the grocer provide everyone with food simply because it contributes to someone staying alive?
Last night I saw a TV commercial for a medical clinic in Altus Oklahoma (not far from my place, about 60 miles) that is offering a 25% discount for cash in addition to accepting all the usual insurances. That may be the coming thing, cash for treatment clinics for minor care issues.
Years ago, just before Obama as president, an article was in the British press about poaching foreign doctors from one another in European socialist countries where incentives to become doctors is low.
Now, we are added to that mix.
Trouble is, many medical schools in foreign lands are substandard compared to here.
But, when the pressure is high enough to hire doctors, our own standards will lower.
Add to that, ObamaCare has a little-talked about portion that lowers standards in our own medical schoold so more homegrown minorities can graduate.

Why not substandard doctors? We already have substandard fire fighters and police officers due to the dumbing down of the academy requirements so that more “minorities” can be placed in jobs they really are not qualified for.
Now we learn that the Obamascare gurus want to be able to have minorities be able to only go to minority doctors. So substandard doctors will be treating patients that should expect the same care as anyone else. All in the name of “diversity.”

You are right to be worried. Years ago, when I was still a neonatal fellow, I went to an AAP conference in San Francisco. They had some local 2nd year med student sitting at a booth trying to get every physician possible at the conference to sign a petition calling for “universal health care”. I got into it with him, actually staying at his booth the entire length of the break in between presentations, debating with him about the inherent evil of national socialist healthcare. Because we were both speaking loudly, no one else came over to his booth, and no one signed his petition during that break. He kept spewing the “healthcare is a right” mantra of ultimate leftist stupidity, and I simply asked him to explain from where the funding was going to come to pay for this national socialist healthcare scam. He balked at my calling it that, until I pointed out that the USSR, the Nazis, and the Italian Fascists were three of the first countries to enact government takeover of medical care systems. That was when he got the glazed over look in his eyes that leftists get when trying to process facts they don’t like because they can’t argue with them.
At the time I was still a member of the AAP. But when I found out the AAP was helping sponsor this leftist fool’s booth, I began my path to cancelling my membership in the AAP. I completed it when the AAP started pushing the idiocy of wasting clinic time trying to pester people into getting rid of their personal firearms and promoting the mental illness of homosexuality as “normal”.
Academic institutions training medical students today are filled with leftist medical professors. Working in academia is easy. Time for these type of physicians is heavily weighted on research and bureaucracy, and actual patient care time is heavily limited. It is exactly the type of position that gives us arrogant fascist jerks like Dr. Ezekiel Emmanuel. So medical students are heavily indoctrinated with thinly disguised Marxist doctrines, constantly being groomed to believe that the only correct and enlightened opinion is for the state to control the delivery of medical care on a basis of “need”- absolutely defined by the state apparatachiks – and that physicians who choose to work on a for-profit basis are nothing but filthy, greedy corporate pigs. I cannot tell you how many times when I have tried to transfer a stable patient who still needs NICU care to the medical system where the parents live – how I have been sneered at by “academic” physicians who have literally refused to accept the patient because they didn’t want to be bothered with the tedium of coordinating the outpatient care in their system. They preferred for my unit to continue caring for the patient until the patient was going to be discharged, let them drive 300-400 miles to their home city, then deal with trying to coordinate multiple outpatient specialist appointments through the academic bureaucracy. Yet these same academic physicians claim to be so piously devoted to good patient care, while we evil, selfish for-profit doctors are only interested in making what they feel is undeserved compensation. Since I left the bizarre world of academic medicine to work in the for-profit hospital system, it is amazing how much better the actual patient care is, and how much harder I work. But I don’t mind the extra work, because my patients are far better off, and I am compensated for my time and effort. Once obamacare morphs into the leftists national socialist nightmare, the academic mindset will be the prevailing one, and it will only get worse as the government rations more care, and begins the inevitable mandatory decreases in physician income. Envious leftists snidely criticizing physician pay will feel all smug at first…until they can’t find a competent doctor to take care of them.

You do realize that medicare/Medicaid pays approximately 11-15% of what the doctor bills for services, right? The dirty little secret is that hospitals end up charging private insurance companies higher fees to cover the losses from caring for Medicaid patients. Outpatient physicians – for the time being – can refuse to accept Medicaid/medicare patients, but hospitals and ERs cannot. This is part of the reason the leftists get traction in trying to force obamacare upon us, stating that this would get all the people who previously were freeloading off those who were responsible enough to get medical insurance to actually pay for the cost of their care. The problem with this argument – and another classic example of deliberate leftist dishonesty – is that under obamacare, the leftists are using taxpayer money to subsidize those allegedly too poor to purchase their own health insurance. So all obamacare does is transfer the burden the health insurance companies have been carrying for the uninsured – while still managing to offer insurance that the majority of Americans could afford AND make a profit – to the cosmically incompetent and fiscally irresponsible federal government. What is the result? Double to triple the monthly insurance premiums, double to triple the annual deductible, significant increases in office visit and drug copays, and a significantly decreased number of accepted medical providers and hospitals. This from the liars who sold obamacare with blatant lies of being able to keep the same doctor, insurance, purported decreases in annual insurance premiums averaging $2500/yr per family, and the hilarious claim that this could all be done while lowering the cost of medical care.

You are spot on – though I can tell you in the NICU we don’t get anywhere near the percentage compensation from Medicaid that your GP friend gets. We literally get 11-15% of the cost of treating the infants born to illegal aliens, drug addicts, and to unmarried teens.
In my primary city of practice (I have to fly to work in three cities because there are not enough neonatologists in the country) none of the general pediatricians will accept Medicaid patients. They can’t afford to.

Let me give you some actual numbers from Medicare for a recent office visit: Amount billed for office exam 88.00 Medicare paid 11.09 Supplemental ins paid 44.35 Office procedure 65.00 med paid 3.20 priv ins paid 12.81 same visit Lab 8.00 Medicare pd 0 priv ins paid 3.57 So, the totals for the visit was Doctor charges 161.00 and they received a total payment from Medicare and ins of 75.04 or 46.6% of the charges. I have no clue what the total the doctor would receive if I did not have supplemental insurance. I do know that one thing that happens is that the hospital charges huge charges so that when a patient has to pay his 20% it is often more than the amount that a private insurance company, that is supposed to be paying 80% pays. I’ve seen that on many occasions. An example, say the hospital charge is 10,000, ins is supposed to pay 80% and patient 20%. Patient pays $2,000 and hospital settles with ins co for $1,500. That, I consider to be a rip off. (This is not medicare I’m talking of here) I tried to get the hospital to accept 20% based on the amount that the ins co and hospital settled for. They wouldn’t go along with that.
The big deal with obamacare now is that all those that sign up will be on medicaid, which the gov has always paid for anyhow, but now it will be charged to the other folks that sign up. While this should be a tax savings, I’m quite sure that administering the program will cost even more than the savings.

I am constantly amazed at how people complain at the rising costs of health care. I grew up in a time when a doctor made house calls and no matter what was wrong with you (unless you required hospitalization and surgery) the standard treatment was aspirin, perhaps antibiotics and Vicks. Times change and now we have medications that cure many diseases that were once fatal.
Oddly enough, I don’t hear the left demanding that General Motors lower the cost of its vehicles and demand that the auto industry charge no more than they used to for a car with roll up windows, a four speed manual transmission, no air conditioning, no radio except for one that only gave you AM stations. In 1970, you could buy a GTO convertible for $3,500.00. In 1980, an F150 cost less than $10,000.00. And yes, vehicle costs have increased with new technology. Yet, the left is silent and only seems to care about destroying the finest health care system in the world. They want 2013 technology at 1970 prices.
And now a joke for you: Obama’s approval rating is dropping so low that the Kenyans are now claiming he was born in the United States.

I can tell you this, AT&T retiree insurance costs have more than tripled for 2014. The cost for a couple with UHC insurance was $10/month for the spouse on Medicare and $87/month for the spouse that was not. Now the spouse on Medicare pays $110/month (a thousand % increase) and the non-Medicare spouse pays $244/month. Also, starting in 2015, all retirees who are over 65, or reach 65 in 2015, and their spouses will be thrown into the open market. This is AT&Ts polite way of telling them they are probably going to lose the insurance they bargained for all those years. But hey, when my friend called and ask why his insurance costs were going up, UHC informed him he now had maternity coverage. The guy is 66 years old and his wife is 63.

Thank God and Obama for that. I pay for my own supplemental insurance, both my wife and I are on Medicare. The supplemental that pays 100% with no co pay and no deductible is $321.00 monthly. Plus $51 for prescription drugs with $200 deductible. My wife and I each pay the Part A and B which is about $105 each. that makes our total medical bill per year $7184. That’s a relatively good deal for a couple in their 70’s, I guess. I guess if I couldn’t afford to pay that, that the medicaid or someone would have to pay the difference. Thank goodness I haven’t had to worry about that. I have not been informed if my supplemental is going to cost more next year, but it shouldn’t. (it normally goes up a little each year)
The democrats are used to the propaganda media going along with whatever they say, even if they misspoke. What a joke that is. Several of the minority parents that I know will not take their families to a minority doctor. They believe that the minority doctors didn’t have to be as good in order to graduate from medical school.
Affirmative action eventually harms those that it professes to help.

That is funny, and yet so serious at the same time. The propaganda media takes whatever obama and other democrats feed them, and passes them on as liberal stool samples to the public. I guess stool samples don’t come out of just one opening of the body. No wonder I keep smelling something rotten whenever liberals open their mouthes. Now I know what the smell is.

I think the propaganda media finally figured out that obama lied to them too, and they figured out that they will be loosing their health care, and will be going on obamacare like millions of others will. I’m also guessing that the propaganda media have read the bill, and know that it ain’t as good as obama promised, and it ain’t better than the insurance they have now, like obama promised it would be, and it does have a panel of people who will decide if you get treated or not, without seeing you. Could this be the start of the propaganda media actually reporting news as it is, instead of how they want us to think it is? I guess it makes a difference if THEY are part of the news.
Since obama can’t be reelected, he doesn’t have to worry about pleasing WE THE PEOPLE, and can do whatever makes him the most money, like the no-bid contract for obamacare to a CANADIAN company. You would think that since they went to Canada for the web site, that they would have used the one who built the Canadian web site.
I think this is just the start of things obama is going to do to make hime the most money while he can get it. Wait until the end of his administration, and see how many pardons he gives. If the president has the authority to release all of the GITMO prisoners, it would’t surprise me if he does.

A lot of doctors are going to a cash only practice. It saves them a lot of money, because they don’t have to hire people to do the extra paperwork.
@Smorgasbord: Well, since writing my first post, there is absolutely not trace of the mainstream Obamacare criticism; only the NYT seems to get any airtime, and we know where they stand. Perhaps the American “Prada” will be the new standard after all?

I don’t watch the propaganda media. I let Fox News and the conservative blogs do the dumpster diving for me. Most of them are saying that the propaganda media are complaining about obamacare, but nothing else. They are still not asking when the Benghazi PRISONERS will be released so they can tell what actually happened, nor who was responsible for Fast And Furious, nor who was responsible for the IRS targeting Tea Party organizations, nor the NSA spying, nor any of the other major stories being told by Fox News and the conservative blogs.
