Obama won the shutdown battle. The prize? Everyone learns how incompetent he is.

One of the things the GOP sought during the “shutdown” was a delay in the individual mandate. Obama should have given it to them.

They knew the website was going to fail and fail early:

Days before the launch of President Obama’s online health insurance marketplace, government officials and contractors tested a key part of the Web site to see whether it could handle tens of thousands of consumers at the same time. It crashed after a simulation in which just a few hundred people tried to log on simultaneously.

Despite the failed test, federal health officials plowed ahead.

When the Web site went live Oct. 1, it locked up shortly after midnight as about 2,000 users attempted to complete the first step, according to two people familiar with the project.

And don’t you blame anyone in the regime!

Sibelius said Obama was clueless:

Washington (CNN) – President Barack Obama didn’t know about the problems with the Affordable Care Act’s website – despite complaints from insurance companies and the site’s crashing during a test run – until days into its now well-documented abysmal launch, the nation’s health chief told CNN on Tuesday.

In an exclusive interview with CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius admitted Tuesday that there is significant concern in her department and the White House over the technical debacle surrounding the Obamacare website’s rollout. The site was supposed to make it simple for people to search and sign-up for new health care policies starting on October 1, but instead it’s been clunky and, at times, inoperable.

“We’re not at all satisfied with the workings of the website,” Sebelius said. “We want it to be smooth and easy and let consumers’ compare plans.”

Sure he didn’t know. Obama always gets the credit but never, ever takes any of the blame.

Three years and the regime did not know what it wanted:

Adding to the growing list of reasons for the failure in the Obamacare website rollout. CNN’s Joe Johns reports that the government did not know what they wanted from the website. The report concludes that the government “ kept changing the goal post…making it difficult for contractors to deliver a product.”

The heat is getting so bad that Jay Carney walked out of the kitchen.

And in a few months someone might even be held accountable for this mess!

On Monday’s NBC Nightly News, chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd parroted laughable Obama administration talking points regarding who was to blame for the disastrous rollout of the ObamaCare website: “…nobody in the West Wing feels that this is an administrative error, that this is a competency issue….But in a few months, if they find incompetency, I’m told nothing should be ruled out.”

IF they find incompetency???? Astonishing. Absolutely astonishing.

The great irony of this is that had Obama given the GOP the delay they sought they could have hidden their galactic incompetence. Instead, obstinance and hubris won. Obama won the shutdown battle and his prize was the country discovering just how incompetent he is.

Congratulations, Barack!

UPDATE

Guess what?

Website glitches could end up accomplishing what congressional Republicans couldn’t.

The Obama administration remains committed to getting Obamacare up and running on time, but the White House this week left itself enough wiggle room if it decides it must delay the mandate that everyone have health insurance — a centerpiece of the Affordable Care Act — if consumers continue to have problems signing up.

That constant moving of the goalposts indicates a lack of leadership.
One thing I read about who so clunky had to do with the need to NOT allow people to look and compare policies and prices.
Thus the requirement to provide one’s financials first.
Then only certain policies were made open to them, based on their financials.
Although a silver plan might be a better deal, a low credit score might only allow pricier bronze plans to be offered.
Sucks.

People know how incompetent he is but the MSM may never realize it. Oh and Hennery Waxman is a nitwit.

so jay carney took his football and went home. what a wimp. I guess he and is master are finally getting the blinding glimpse of the obvious that they are not on the pedestal any longer. the American people are learning more and more each day and actually waking up to the politics of the United States. (well unless you are on the public dole, then you don’t care as long as you get it that monthly check)

What many of us have always known: no demonstrated experience in administration or leadership.
The Emperor has no clothes.
Funny thing, that. It takes a kid to notice.
Buck-ass naked, and the crowd of sycophants praises the beauty of his garments.
Humpty-Dumpty has fallen off the wall. And there is no reassembly possible.
This dude cannot hold a candle to Billy Mayes! Ø would have never sold a single shamwow.

If only people would actually understand how incompetent he actually is. The latest pew poll says a lot of democrats thinks the ACA is doing fine.

They have no clue. Just like him.

According to a recent Gallup poll, the Affordable Health Care Act is actually more popular now than it was in August. Not by much, but I would have expected it to be moving in the other direction, given all the media coverage of the website problems.

The Congressional job approval rating continues to sink, even with the shutdown ended. It has now dropped into single digit territory. Real Clear Politics currently shows the average approval number at 8.4 percent. I don’t know if it’s ever been lower than this.

Zero Hedge continues to depict reality VS Obama’s promise of where we’d be now had we passed/not passed the stimulus recovery act.

Because of the factors relating to people who have dropped out and people part time who want full time, this chart is not anywhere near accurate.
That makes it even more interesting.
Had we a way to pull in those two sets of unemployed/low-employed we would be over 11% now, worse than ever!

Obama’s policies have been bad for American workers.
The shutdown was all on him, too.
His incompetence hurts us all, it’s not just good for laughs.

Greg, I’m surprised that you are publicly printing something that makes Libs look even more stupid than they already did. You know damn well if ACA is getting more ‘popular’ than it was, that increase is not from conservatives, so it has to be the libtards. Even you admit you think it should be moving downward, but apparently the uninformed libs don’t know how bad it it. Sure, if you listen to MSNBC and CNN you don’t even know there is a problem, so I can see how that can happen.
But, my point is, why are you celebrating the libs looking more stupid?

@Greg:

I don’t know if it’s ever been lower than this.

Just check the other eras when the Dims were in charge of the Senate.
