The Muslims of the Middle East continue to choose sides before jumping into the Syrian Civil War free for all and doing what they seem to enjoy the most, killing for the sake of bloodletting.
In this amateur video, a Hezbollah convoy, en route to the battle in Quasar to aid Assad’s merry killers, has just been cut to rag dolls by Syrian rebels in a rocket and mortar ambush.

The dead are Hezbollah terrorists or freedom fighters as Jimmy Carter and our media refer to them.
Our president is shadow boxing like a boxer who has never boxed, looking for an excuse to send in our troops and aid these rebels in their ignoble struggle against Assad’s coalition, along with our Secretary of State, who became noteworthy after protesting our participation in another foreign civil war and marrying into money is threatening to join the Syrian rebels in their civil war.
Soon enough, one side will prevail, without our interference, and be able to concentrate their terrorism internationally rather than locally.
As you look at the death and wanton destruction between these Muslim gangsters, we should ask ourselves if we are ready to see our young soldiers and Marines blown to hell in our president’s desire to assert his presence and personal vanity in this most recent Middle East conflict. We have already seen how he deserted our men in Benghazi, when a situation became grim and could shine a negative light on his image.
No, we need to keep our young men out of these disputes. Americans are tired of sacrificing our young people so that our narcissist in chief can preen and posture on the world’s stage.
Let these people make a holiday out of their blood lust, they like to kill, let them kill each other with wanton abandonment without our troops.
We wish you the best of luck, while our president pants over the possibilities of glory for him and the sacrifice of our fighting men; may you kill each other with gleeful joy for as long as possible, and while you are busy at each other’s throats, we will prepare for the terrorism of the eventual victor.

The situation in Syria is increasingly becoming a big concern of mine, considering that my youngest is set to go to Marine Corps bootcamp in September.
Obama and his admin have shown little to no propensity at waging a war with a goal of winning. It is worrisome, at best, and frightening, at worst, to know that the man who commands our troops does so in an increasingly political manner. One merely has to look to Afghanistan to see the results.

Judging by what has happened in both Egypt and Libya, neither side in the Syrian conflict is really preferable over the other. I’d just as soon stay completely out of it, other than helping Israel with it’s defense against the winner in Syria.
The whole reason I bring up Afghanistan is because of the mess it has become since Obama took over. There have been 2,227 deaths in Afghanistan. 1,572 of them since Obama’s inauguration. That is 70% of the deaths, in only 37% of the time period our troops have been over there. This year is likely to top 300+ deaths again, in a place and war that saw only 155 for any year during Bush’s tenure as President.
And yes, there was a troop buildup in 2009, and the one in Iraq during Bush’s tenure saw more deaths as well, but the boots on the ground report the changing ROE’s as hampering their ability to not only take the fight to the Taliban and opposition forces, but also in their ability to protect themselves over there.
Sorry, Rich, but I don’t trust anybody as Commander in Chief who has overseen the politicization of the federal government the way that Obama has.
I sincerely hope that he will be ok. I don’t mind that he probably will see combat. I just want him to have the tools necessary, including the ROE, in order to get the job done without the added danger. That means that I really hope that Obama isn’t the one to send our guys/gals over to Syria. After the Benghazi incident, I’m not sure that Obama is all that concerned with the safety of our people overseas, anywhere.
@johngalt: JG, I feel your dread and apprehension.
May I suggest telling your son to throw himself fully into the training and to strive to be the best at everything. The training is top notch, but it is imperative for him to believe he can accomplish everything and be the best that he can be and to always remember, there are millions of former Marines who have done it and will stand with him, in an unspoken bond, for the rest of time.
It is a noble group to be a part of and the training will influence his decisions for the rest of his life.

He has an uncle (my brother) to look up to as well, who went into the Marines as a grunt enlisted and exited service as a Major. Here’s hoping that my son has the same drive as my brother did.

I see one fighter is masked and uses men, women and children as human shields while the other fighter stands in front of the civilians in a protective way.
Sen. John McCain just spent Memorial Day visiting with Syrian rebels.
Some of them are Jabhat al-Nusra, an extremist Sunni group in Syria affiliated with al-Qaeda in Iraq.
So….does John McC. know what they believe?

@Nan G: Nan, I read the Jewish Press. The cartoon came from those pages. The soldier in a traditional uniform represents a government soldier: the soldier with a mask represents the rebel forces. The Israeli Jews don’t seem to have a definitive favorite, they seem happy to let the war continue indefinitely, as long as the fighting stays on the correct side of the border. If you notice, the flags are similar except for the colors of the horizontal stripes.
Like you, I found the cartoon intriguing, since neither side can legitimately claim a moral superiority. The Jewish Press offers a different opinion at the very least, but they usually have a far deeper analysis of the regional events that our media only covers with superficial coverage.
