The Bourgeoisie, It’s Their Fault, Pay Up And Save The Country

Last Week Was A Momentous Week For America

Our allies, our enemies, and many Americans were overwhelmed with emotion upon learning Anna Wintour, Vogue editor in Britain, former Assad PR gal, and Obama top bundler was being considered for an ambassadorship to London. Don’t fret, the brits are underwhelmed at having an expert on designer fashions as their ambassador, and don’t think for a minute that London doesn’t come with Benghazi type dangers. From a State Department spokesman:

“An ambassador serves at the pleasure of the president. It’s a designation of the most qualified person. But it would be erroneous to think of London as a nice, cushy, westernised post. This is a key strategic ally, so you’re going to want a very seasoned person, be it on the economic or diplomatic side of things.”

That quote should shame all those who find fault with those who have problems with fashion mavens being selected for key diplomatic posts. Let there be no doubt, the consideration was influenced in part by the president’s wife and her keen sense of fashion awareness.

While the fashion world grabbed most of the world’s attention with the prospect of having one of their leaders selected for a key diplomatic post with one of our former strongest allies, there were other issues of importance on page two.

On page two, our impending economic disaster, euphemistically termed the Fiscal Cliff, seems to be proceeding without anything being done to effectively slow its progress. In other words, our politicians seem to be in rout step like a legion of zombies as they stagger ever closer to our collective fiscal doom. Our president has his scope zeroed in on the rich or as the French and Russians called them the bourgeoisie, for they alone are responsible for our fiscal irresponsibility and therefore deserve his wrath. Strangely, many of us are asking just who those people were who could afford those $40,000 a plate campaign fund raising dinners Anna Wintour put on for the president. At least our pragmatic president has a plan, increase taxes, but only on the wealthy. It is not an original plan; no, not at all, increasing taxes has been the generic Democratic solution for every situation for decades, but no one can say he doesn’t have a plan. It’s a new America, where a couple making $250,000 are considered among the millionaires and billionaires according to Obama. His plan stirs up the class envy bucket and creates hatred and disunity, while slipping knives between the ribs of his opposition. However, his screw the rich plan will only yield 7 to 8 percent of the annual borrowing or about $80 billion. If we vector in increased taxation on capital gains and estates, we will be hundreds of billions shy of what we need. While most of us relax in the once hated and reviled Bush era tax cuts, the country is still swirling just above the drain of destruction, but the president has a plan.

The issue of spending can’t be brought to the table; however, there are only two ways to bring down the destructive debt: increasing taxes and reducing spending. If we reduce spending, it is as if we are interfering with the president’s redistribution of wealth, so reductions in spending, except for defense, will never be considered or on the negotiating table.

The president figures he needs another $50 billion to jump start the economy and award contracts and loans to his bundlers, presumably for more Green Energy debacles that netted zero benefit for dollars invested, but why is he asking for only a hundredth as much this time. Is the economy ready to rebound or is he feeling the austerity belt tightening? Judging from the previous stimulus accomplishments, congress might do better by awarding pay offs to the Obama bundlers and forget the stimulus pipe dreams.

The country is consumed with the thought of “pay your fair share,” but half the country pays no tax at all. Somehow, this inequity is calculated into redistribution rather than paying a fair share. It is becoming harder to justify a fair share for only half the people in the country.

He has no problem with his personal wealth or the wealth of his big backers, but the wealth of other non-connected people bothers him a great deal and he plans on taking this unnecessary wealth to put the country on sound fiscal footing and to justify increased spending and Wealth Redistribution. If we must appear to be trying to balance the budget, a fair share might soon become 90 percent or more.

The magic number is $250,000: make less than that and you are on easy street, make more than the magical number and the government wants your money, maybe all of it in the future. But what of the future? Chaos and bankruptcy is the logical projection, but at least Obama has a plan and a goal.

Our Republican leadership is moving forward with its own plan; the Speaker of the House wants to castrate all Conservative Congressmen first and foremost, the rest of his plan is called the Boehner Plan or The Plan of The Dead.

Had conservatives followed the advice of the WSJ and the Standard and leapt to defend the Boehner plan, they would now be on record as supporting some half-baked plan that — according to CBO — would have reduced the deficit in 2012 by… sitting down?… $1 billion dollars!!!!

Not to be direct…but are you kidding? To put the Boehner plan in perspective, let’s go back to this news, reported here in the Washington Post, from October 7, 2010. The story concerned some interesting findings just released by the Social Security Administration on where some Obama stimulus funds had gone. Said the Post:

“In general, the federal government misspent almost $110 billion in fiscal year 2009 by sending benefits checks to dead people, responding to fraudulent Medicare and Medicaid claims and overpaying government contractors.”

So. In other words, the much ballyhooed Boehner plan (“the most credible proposal with a chance of becoming law before the 2012 election,” say our friends) now officially scored by CBO as shaving a whole $1 billion off the deficit for all of next year — is in fact a mere one hundred tenth of the amount Obama was paying — according to his own government — to dead people in 2009.

The President is basing the country’s future on how he wants the country for his two girls:

The GOP alternative, Obama said, is “an approach to government that will fundamentally cripple America in meeting the challenges of the 21st century. And that’s not the kind of society that I want to leave to Malia and Sasha.”

There are over three hundred Americans, but the society to be created for them is based on what he wants for his children. It’s nice to have a president who has our welfare as a secondary priority.

On page three, we have Michigan, home for the UAW and of the great GM nationalization program. Oddly enough, it has voted to become a Right to Work State. There were massive union protests, but Governor Rick Snyder says he may sign the legislation during the coming week. Upon passage, employers can no longer automatically deduct union wages from the paycheck of non-union employees.

Page four takes us to bankruptcy court; Judge Gerber who heard the bankruptcy case for GM, and threw American Property Law out with the trash, has said he may reverse his decision, because he was not informed of a “lock-up agreement” that allowed the company to spin off its liabilities to “Old GM” and start the new GM, popularly known as Government Motors, without liability by using the federal multi-billion dollar bailout. It was a slick move, but one which a judge expects to consider in a bankruptcy court, and the word is, he is ticked off over not being aware of the secret part of the deal. The suit was initiated by the old GM trustees against the hedge funds at the heart of the settlement.

The judge is so disappointed with the company, there is speculation, he may throw out one of Obama’s greatest achievements, due to a minor obfuscation. It is remarkable that such a little thing like honesty can affect a major decision.

Judge Gerber in July:

“When I approved the sale agreement and entered the sale approval order I mistakenly thought that I was merely saving GM, the supply chain, and about a million jobs. It never once occurred to me, and nobody bothered to disclose, that amongst all of the assigned contracts was this lock-up agreement, if indeed it was assigned at all.”

Perhaps Judge Gerber is tired of looking like a fool and an Obama stooge, he may be looking to undue the damage he brought upon the country to champion unions at taxpayer’s expense. If Gerber reopens the case, it is conceivable GM will be forced to return $30 billion in taxpayer bailout money the corporation received throughout the bankruptcy, along with new liabilities.

GM is taking the possibility of Gerber reopening the case seriously. They have already filed court papers stating that a lawsuit:

“could create a chaotic situation for GM Canada, spawn new litigation in other forums, and potentially provide a windfall to the noteholders.”

Their worries seem well-founded; although, their actions during litigation made the review more likely.

If the two sides don’t reach an agreement by Thursday, Gerber will preside over a major historic bankruptcy court ruling.

Gerber:

“This has tremendous implications for future of American business and bankruptcy precedent. It means more than just GM — this is the rule of law and how creditors are treated in the United States legal system.”

It’s amazing Judge Gerber overlooked the distinction earlier in the proceedings.

Coincidentally, Detroit is considering bankruptcy. Cynics have contributed the cities’ condition to corruption, a substandard education system, profligate spending, and Liberal leadership, but cooler minds are seeing the same situation in San Bernardino and Stockton and contend these couldn’t possibly be the reasons since the California cities have the same conditions.

On page 5, we find the Arab Spring on the road to Nuclear Winter; and the spilling of ever increasing amounts of blood tends to decrease the participants, but not the problems. Obama and Hillary seem to be handling the escalation of hostilities with amazing grace and coolness of spirit. It has been remarkable how former allies of dubious distinction who functioned as autocratic states have now devolved into hotbeds of Islamic Extremists, while the dynamic duo admire their accomplishments. With hardly the raising of an eyebrow by Hillary or Obama, Mubarak and Gaddafi were deposed with minimal sodomy and other messy details.

Unfortunately, Morsi, Egypt’s new leader, had to vacate the palace and hot foot it out of town with one hand covering his butt; however, this can be considered another bump in the road in the continuing efforts by Hillary and Obama to give the people of Egypt and Libya the tyranny they deserve via the Muslim Brotherhood. To expect North Africans to embrace democracy is too steep a hill to climb, for they still think it is a man’s duty to sexually assault women who travel without proper escorts. The concepts of liberty and of a non-clerical judiciary are foreign to these lovers of goats and little boys, yet they despise homosexuality, a cause championed by Obama and Hillary; consequently, Hillary and Obama think Fundamentalist Islam is a much better choice for homophobic pedophiles, and rapists, who sodomize captives as a right of conquest. America is more than ready to invest in their country’s infrastructure with munitions that will lay the groundwork for an eventual if dubious Islamic Democracy.

The Arab Spring, gave many Americans the forlorn hope of Middle East peace. Unfortunately, it has been a disaster, for those who pray for peace, and as a historical landmark for Obama Foreign Policy. No one can deny, America has invested heavily in grand plans for alternative energy and nation building. Our return on investment appears to be negligible or worse in both areas. Hillary and Obama see Islamic Fundamentalism as the ideological answer for Middle East Peace, but no one who is lucid considers it to be more than a nightmare, other than the media.

Our government has spun serial lies about the Benghazi disaster, and not only are Americans wary and distrusting of such behavior, but the citizens of Libya are wondering what Obama is really doing in Libya and what plans he has for their destiny. Especially after the New York Times managed to report that some of the weapons we provided Libyan rebels ended up in the hands of al-Qaeda. Of course. the NYT manages to only depict the best possible scenario, while the rest of the world still wonders what our most transparent administration is really trying to accomplish.

On page 6, we learn the Muslim Brotherhood is helping the supposedly secular rebel forces in Syria to close in on Assad. We are being told about the moderate and secular forces that are ready to assume power in Syria, but we have learned to be more than a little skeptical of Obama’s ideas of moderate and secular.

One of the great questions of the hour is when will the nerve gas from Iraq (that doesn’t exist in politically correct circles) be used either by Assad forces or the homicidal maniacs among the rebel forces.

Yes indeed, the world is a much safer place with the guiding hands of American diplomatic policy setting the rules and providing the munitions, but its those pesky WMD that have us worried. Democrats will tell us to relax they don’t exist, Bush lied. We shall see…

The latest ”Red Line,” Obama has described leaves Israel out in the cold completely!
Remember Obama’s earlier Red Line?
If you MOVE you chemical weapons, that is a Red Line.
But Obama allowed Assad to MOVE his chemical weapons.
Obama then allowed Assad to mix his pre-curser chemicals together so as to weaponize the chemicals.
Obama then allowed Assad to place those weaponized chemicals into warheads.
Now where is the Red Line?
If Assad USES those chemical weapons, that is the latest Red Line.
So, basically, Assad can GIVE some of those weapons to Hezb’allah to use against Israel without crossing one of Obama’s Red Lines!
Hmmmmm….

As to taxes on ”the rich,” Obama has actually aimed at taxing EVERYONE more, from the elderly to veterans, to the working ….everyone.
The Elderly:
Under Obama the elderly will find it more difficult to write off medical expenses on their income taxes when the medical deduction minimum goes up from 7.4 to 10 percent of adjusted gross income.
The Veterans:
A 2.3 percent excise tax on medical device sales, which will drive up the cost of everything from artificial joints and prosthetics to lifesaving machines.
American manufacturers say they will pass along the new costs to consumers.
The Working Poor:
Obamacare tax hikes will raise the cost of health care for everyone, kill jobs and suck a trillion dollars out of the economy. $63/year MORE for every worker and each of his family members for the next 3 years was little-known before….this supposedly covers everybody who has pre-existing conditions to be covered.

Absolutely. The wet rodents running along the walls of Gerbers courtroom knew. The money didn’t get to the hedge funds until weeks AFTER GM filed for Chapter 11 collecting billions from taxpayers gifted by Obama and Geithner. As you say, Gerber must feel like a “stooge.”

“Fair share”

To a liberal/progressive, earning your income qualifies you to be demonized by Obama and his acolytes, but if Obama hands you the money, from the government’s coffers, in much larger sums than most of the top 2% ever dreamed of making, then they cheer both the giver, Obama, and the receivers of that money.

I’m not sure that a liberal/progressive can actually define what, exactly, constitutes a “fair share”.
