Liberals:

President Obama to some Olympic wrestlers: “You know, for wrestlers you smell pretty good.”

Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL), remembering that, six months ago, conservative Allen West brought Chick-fil-A food in for the Congressional Black Caucus to eat:  “We have fried chicken. And we have catfish and BBQ. We do not have watermelon, although sometimes people will have fruit. We serve a full course meal with collard greens. We have Jamaican beans and rice…[But West] sent Chick-fil-A with biscuits. Ok?  That was an `in your face.’ Every member of the Congressional Black Caucus that was there was offended.”  6 months ago.  He’s still offended and talking about it.

Liberals on the economy:

President Obama: “And listen the reason we do that is not because we love paying taxes, I would end up having to pay more under my plan, and it’s not like I love paying taxes, but I understand that I have to do more, I’ve been so blessed and invest in things like education that will help us grow the economy.”

President Obama: “I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back.  Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.”

President Obama: “[W]e’ve come too far to turn back now.  We’ve got too much more work to do. We’ve got too many good jobs we’ve got to create. We’ve got too many teachers we still need to hire. We’ve got too many schools we need to rebuild.”

Liberals on Obamacare:

Obama campaign person, Stephanie Cutter: “…on top of the savings we’ve already achieved; you know, I heard Mitt Romney deride the $700 billion cuts In medicare that the president achieved through healthcare reform.”   Which, the legislation never did anything which actually cut this or that wasteful portion of medicare; they just legislatively reduced their budget by that amount.

Liberals going green:

Senate leader Harry Reid: “These people [who oppose the Democrat “green agenda”] aren’t just on the other side of this debate. They’re on the other side of reality.  It’s time for us all – whether we’re leaders in Washington, members of the media, scientists, academics, environmentalists or utility industry executives – to stop acting like those who ignore the crisis or deny it exists entirely have a valid point of view. They don’t.  Virtually every respected, independent scientist in the world agrees the problem is real, and the time to act is now. Not tomorrow. Not a week from now. Not next month or next year. We must act today.”

Liberals going pink:

CodePink email: “CODEPINK is asking activists and artists across the nation to submit artistic representations of vaginas for us to deliver to the Republican Headquarters in Tampa.  Draw out a message that the Republicans need to see bright and bold! We suggest you create vagina artwork on 8 1/2? x 11? fabric or paper. We will quilt the art together to carry in the March on the RNC on August 27th.  We are also calling for vagina costumes that we can wear in the streets. Is sewing your passion? Do you love repurposing thrift store finds? We’d love to wear your costume!”

Perhaps these ladies just enjoy playing “dress up”?

Liberal war on Christianity:

President Obama: “Thomas Jefferson once held a sunset dinner here with an envoy from Tunisia – perhaps the first Iftar at the White House, more than 200 years ago. And some of you, as you arrived tonight, may have seen our special display, courtesy of our friends at the Library of Congress – the Koran that belonged to Thomas Jefferson. And that’s a reminder, along with the generations of patriotic Muslims in America, that Islam – like so many faiths – is part of our national story.”  Muslims make up less than 1% of the population of the United States.  Although Thomas Jefferson owned a Koran, this appears to be more for his general education, rather than giving ascent to anything found in the Koran.  Jefferson went to war against the Muslims, against their Barbary pirates of that time period (if memory serves, I did an article on this some time ago in an old CR).

The Liberal agenda:

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka on the White House approving the Keystone XL pipeline project in Obama’s second term: “A lot of people try to say it is either/or. Either you do the project or you destroy the environment. I think there is a way to do things both ways. Where you can do things without destroying the environment.  I think that project and others have every chance of success doing it the right way.”  Or, simply elect Romney, so it’s a sure thing.

Liberals on the 2012 election:

First Lady Michelle Obama: “So if you’re making calls, knocking on doors, bring that friend, that little lazy friend, bring them.”

Michelle Obama: “All of us know that one person in our lives, that one knucklehead nephew who’s not registered to vote; that one neighbor who’s not really payin’ attention; or that one person in your office that’s confused about how Barack’s tax plan will benefit that individual.”  There’s a tax plan?

The knuckleheads and confused types that I know seem to already belong to a political party.

Michelle Obama: “Are you ready for this? Are you ready to roll up your sleeves, find that one person? Shake them up. Get them involved.”

House minority leader Nancy Pelosi: “Bless their hearts, they [Republicans] act upon their beliefs—it’s an ideology—we shouldn’t have a government role.  So reduce the police, the fire, the teachers; reduce the role.  Give tax cuts to the high end and that will stimulate the economy and everything will be good.  And I say to them, ‘Do you have children who breathe the air? Do you have grandchildren who drink water?’  …if you could depend on the government for one thing, it was that you had to be able to trust the water that our kids drank and the food that they ate; but this is the e coli club—they do not want to spend money to do that.”

Obama 2012 tweet: Why does Mitt Romney want to restrict voting rights for more than 900,000 Ohio veterans?

Don’t blame Islam:

U.S. Attorney Eric Holder, speaking at the Sikh Temple shooting memorial service in Oak Creek, Wis.: “For our nation’s law enforcement community, our resolve to prevent acts of terrorism and to combat crimes motivated by hatred has never been stronger, and that is precisely what happened here – an act of terrorism, an act of hatred, a hate crime that is anathema to the founding principles of our nation and to who we are as an American people.”  I don’t know many who would argue with that.  Yet, Nidal Hassan’s massacre at Fort Hood is still labeled “Workplace violence.”

It’s all about racism…

Montana Dem. Gov. Brian Schweitzer: “All over Montana, you can walk into a bar, a café or even a school or a courthouse and just listen for a while as people talk to each other.  And you will hear somebody, before very long, say something outrageously racist about the people who’ve lived in Montana for 10,000 years.”

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews: “The pictures of the wholesome family there concerned about welfare cheating are white people. And the implication here is pretty clear that the people that are getting these welfare checks without working are not white people. This is the old stuff that Romney is resorting to here. It’s familiar territory.  It’s Willie Horton’s stuff it’s the same old stuff Reagan used to engage in, talk about welfare queens and young bucks waiting in line with their food stamps to get vodka. I lived through all of that stuff. I know all the code. This is code.”

One of the New Black Panthers: “Hell, all of you gettin’ ready to go give your vote, what are you votin’ for? You gettin’ ready now- gearin’ up to go get ya some Mitt Romney in ya life or revote for Obama – what the hell are ya votin’ for? If we don’t have land, bread, clothing, housing, freedom, justice and equality, what the hell are ya votin’ for? Rick Santorum. Rick Santorum is a racist. He’s gonna win amongst the conservative racists. He’s gonna win amongst the evangelical Tea Party voters, those that are easy to hang black people from trees.”

The War on Women continues…

President Obama: “When it comes to a woman’s right to make her own health care choices, they want to take us back to the policies more suited to the 1950s than the 21st Century.”

Planned Parenthood blared in a big hot pink headline on its web site: “Tell Ryan:  No way, no how, hot ever;” adding “It’s no surprise: Mitt Romney has picked a running mate who’s just as bad as he is on issues affecting women’s health and rights.”

The Compliant Obama Press Corps:

New York Times Magazine article title: “What’s So Bad about a Boy Who Wants to Wear a Dress?” This is a 5,500-word celebration of boys breaking traditional gender boundaries.

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews: “[Paul Ryan] comes out with his budget that basically gives a great break to the richest people in the country, and really screws the people who desperately need Medicare and programs like that…”

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell of Romney picking Paul Ryan as VP: “This is not a pick for suburban moms. This is not a pick for women.”

Politico’s Jonathan Martin about Romney’s choice of Paul Ryan: “Flipping –burgers at McDonald’s, steering the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, slinging cheap margaritas, and toning abs and pecs.  That’s about the extent of Rep. Paul Ryan‘s private sector experience.”  A crucial matter to liberals 4 years ago….

New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza on Paul Ryan: “For one thing, Ryan has no significant private-sector experience. Besides summer jobs working at McDonald’s or at his family’s construction company, or waiting tables as a young Washington staffer, Ryan has none of the business-world experience Romney frequently touts as essential for governing.”  Private sector experience?  Never a concern 4 years ago.

Christopher Rugaber at the Associated Press: “GOP candidate Mitt Romney has criticized Obama for failing to cut the deficit in half, as he pledged to do during his 2008 campaign.”  You may read that and wonder, what’s the problem with that?  The problem is, this was a promise that Obama made after becoming president as well.  A campaign promise may not always be doable, but a presidential promise is a whole different thing.

Huffington Post headline: “Mitt Romney Started Bain Capital With Money From Families Tied To Death Squads”

MSNBC Analyst Jonathan Alter: “What the press should be focused on is what are the consequences of repeal of Obamacare, and the consequences, as Mike just indicated, are death. Repeal equals death.  That is not an exaggeration. That is not crying fire. It’s a simple fact, if you have preexisting conditions, and you are thrown off of health insurance or if you get sick after you or your husband, spouse, loses the job, you’re not going to go to the doctor as soon, your cancer or disease is not going to be caught as quickly, and your odds of dying are much, much increased. So Obamacare will save, literally, thousands of lives.”

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on a Romney ad on the increase in welfare: “…strategically, it seems to be part of the Romney campaign`s new bid to try to change the subject away from what everybody else has been talking about for weeks now, which is their own candidate`s refusal to release his tax returns.  This is a new gambit from the campaign, part of an effort to start talking about anything, anything else, even if it is what I believe to be obvious dog whistle racism in this newest campaign gambit.”

Liberal Celebrities:

Cher tweet: I don’t care what any1 thinks!I hate these Republicans who r making women have babies even in cases of RAPE & INCEST! Contraception is

Cher [slightly censored) tweet: No prenatal care For women who can’t afford 2care of themselvesc& their babies & theres more ! F___ THESE OLD WHITE MEN who couldnt laid

If you love Cher, there are more here.

Roseanne Barr tweet (she is running for president as a socialist): Cindy Sheehan and I want you to help us bring the issue of socialist solutions to the dialogue of this election cycle!

Harry Belafonte, when asked whether he’d like Romney to win the election: “Only if I would like to see the end of civilization. No, absolutely not.”

Comedian D.L. Hughley: “I think he was surprised that the right wing would actually let this country fall apart just to get the black guy out of office. I don’t think he realized how we as a country have not gotten that far race-wise. White people are cool with black people at work, living in the neighborhood and having a few as friends. But let someone black marry their daughter or let a black man run the free world and you see the real feelings. I think Obama thought everyone would come together for the good of the country. He believed that people are basically patriotic. They are until there’s a black head of state.”

Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein: “You can make the case that [Obama is] the Paul Newman of American presidents.”

Comedian and actor Zach Galifianakis: “We talked about politics constantly in my family growing up in North Carolina.  There were always debates. Being of Greek background, it’s in our blood to drink coffee and talk politics…A lot of times, these `regular people’ have good intentions, but they are not that qualified..I understand Tea Partyers’ anger with the system, but they are in way over their heads and often racially motivated, and I can’t be part of that.”

Actress Elizabeth Banks: “Planned Parenthood was my health care provider when I didn’t have insurance after graduating from college.  Yes, I got birth control, but it was for my massive migraine headaches and my heavy flow. Yeah, I’m on the record saying I had a heavy flow. And unfortunately, these are the types of things I don’t want to discuss with employers. I don’t want to talk about that with my employer. That’s between me and my doctor.”

Russell Simmons tweet: Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, two men who will destroy our people…

Film director Spike Lee: “[Obama] was a savior…Look, I don’t care who it was. Expectations were way too high…a Congress that’s solidified as saying, `Whatever you do, we’re blocking that. We’re blocking, and every breath we take, we’re going to do what we can that you don’t get a second term. Bottom line. And if it hurts America in the process, tough business.’ …Look, the man’s not perfect. Who’s perfect?”  So, Spike Lee is getting the Democratic talking points now?

Benjamin Gibbard, singer and songwriter for Death Cab For Cutie and The Postal Service: “Obama is the first president in U.S. history to acknowledge the right of gay couples to marry and enjoy the full benefits of marriage in the eyes of the law.”

Liberals fixing global warming:

Adam Werbach, the former President of the Sierra Club and currently serves as the Chief Sustainability Officer at Saatchi & Saatchi: “Obama is the first President in a generation to make a car go further on a gallon of gas.”

Bat-guano crazy:

Nancy Pelosi: “He’s (Bush) saying something to the effect of we’re so glad to welcome you here, congratulations and I know you’ll probably have some different things to say about what is going on-which is correct. But, as he was saying this, he was fading and this other thing was happening to me.  My chair was getting crowded in,” said Pelosi. “I swear this happened, never happened before, it never happened since.  My chair was getting crowded in and I couldn’t figure out what it was, it was like this.  And then I realized Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, Alice Paul, Sojourner Truth, you name it, they were all in that chair, they were.  More than I named and I could hear them say: `At last we have a seat at the table.’ And then they were gone.”

Liberals from the past:

Barack Obama, earlier this year, on the Paul Ryan budget proposal: “It’s a Trojan Horse.  Disguised as [a] deficit reduction plan, it’s really an attempt to impose a radical vision on our country. It’s nothing but thinly-veiled Social Darwinism. It’s antithetical to our entire history as a land of opportunity and upward mobility for everyone who’s willing to work for it – a place where prosperity doesn’t trickle down from the top, but grows outward from the heart of the middle class. And by gutting the very things we need to grow an economy that’s built to last – education and training; research and development – it’s a prescription for decline.”

Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton: “How does it strengthen our country to pollute our politics with false and mean-spirited attacks?”  Burton is responsible for the “Romney killed the laid-off worker’s wife” ad.

Liberal civility:

James Walsh, a Las Vegas resident who initiated the signature-gathering on MoveOn’s petition website, SignOn.org: “As an American citizen, I think it is our right to see that a person who is running for President of the United States has paid their income taxes in full.”  Because the IRS probably never checks this stuff out.

Mark Bittman, a New York Times food critic: ”Speaking of pigs, the VP of PR for Chick-fil-A dropped dead of a heart attack the week after the chain’s latest homophobia/anti-gay marriage scandal. Here’s an obit, and here’s more about him. Meanwhile, Chick-fil-A had record-breaking profits after its President, Dan Cathy, drew a line in the sand over same-sex marriage.”  He has since apologized for this remark.

Muslims:

Egyptian cleric Sallah Sultan, the founder of the Ohio-based American Center for Islamic Research: “I travel all over the world, and I met supporters of Al-Aqsa, of the prisoners, of Jerusalem, and of Palestine – people who thirst for the blood of the Jews, and who are eager for the promised war against the sons of Zion, until Palestine is liberated in its entirety. […]  Under the previous [Egyptian] regime over 30,000 Zionists entered Egypt every month, defiling its land. The Egyptian police were forced to protect them, while they were getting drunk and picking fights. .  There was a great scandal, when [alleged Israeli spy] Misrati and some Jews entered Egypt, in order to commit all kinds of crimes here: counterfeit dollars, taking photographs of military bases, girls with AIDS seducing young Egyptians in order to infect them, and the vilest act of all – for the price of one Egyptian pound Misrati and his gang would seduce young Egyptian boys from Cairo, Alexandria and Upper Egypt. They took young children who did not know any better and sodomized them.”

Liberals making sense:

President Barack Obama: “Today is the three year anniversary of Sonia Sotomayor taking her seat on the Supreme Court.  Yesterday was the two-year anniversary of Elena Kagan taking her seat on the Supreme Court. So, let’s be very clear, the next president could tip the balance of the court in a way that turns back the clock for women and families for decades to come.”  When he’s right, he’s right.

Mark Halperin, on MSNBC, on the Romney-cancer ad: “This is about as low as either side has gone and I think the people who made it are probably privately remorseless.  It’s a despicable ad.”

Huffington Post writer Sam Stein: “This is like so beyond what we need to discuss…This just I think takes it too far.”

Liberals being honest:

Lanny Davis, a former top adviser to President Bill Clinton, about the Romney killed the guy’s wife ad: “Bill Burton [the head of the Super PAC that wrote this ad] needs to go back to ethics school.  He knows perfectly well that the ad is misleading and disgusting and he needs to apologize for it.”

Moderates/Affiliation Unknown:

From the Urban dictionary: “Harry Reid “A  sexual position where you climb on top and then do absolutely nothing. Named for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). Under his lack of leadership, the Senate failed to pass a budget in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. He also blocked votes on numerous jobs bills passed by the House of Representatives.”

The Urban dictionary: “Harry Reid: An unofficial rap sheet of alleged pederasty and sexual abuse of minors by anonymous sources that may not exist.  Named for Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) after an explosion of reports surfaced online and on the airwaves, that Senate is a serial pederast. The outlets reporting the allegations all protected the anonymity of their sources, and no one knows if the allegations are true, but they’re out there. A spokesperson for Reid declined to deny them.”

Baltimore archbishop William E. Lori: “The question to ask is this: Are any of the candidates of either party, or independents, standing for something that is intrinsically evil, evil no matter what the circumstances? If that’s the case, a Catholic, regardless of his party affiliation, shouldn’t be voting for such a person.”

Abortion doctor Ashutosh Ron Virmani, when confronted by members of the National Black Pro-Life union: “I don’t wish to pay for the baby with my money…I as taxpayer do not wish for those babies to be born and brought up and to kill those people in Colorado…go ahead, let me see you adopt one of those ugly black babies.”  A man who apparently embraces the ideals of Margaret Sanger.

Crossfire:
A top aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) Jose Parra, regarding the person who told Reid about Mitt Romney not paying taxes for 10 years: “This person is an investor in Bain Capital, a Republican also, and somebody who has been dealing with Romney‘s company for a long, long time and he has direct knowledge of this.”

Fred Thompson (not a liberal), former Republican candidate in the 2008 primary: “Reid in an example of the ‘Peter Principle.’  He’s now revealed for the tiny, little vicious man that he is.”

Parra later said: “I do not know the party affiliation of the source, how long he invested with Bain, or his relationship to Romney beyond the fact that he was an investor with Bain Capital, as Senator Reid has previously stated.”

Usually, I give the mainstream media a hard time, but they did okay in this one instance of the political advertisement which links Mitt Romney to the death of a man’s wife.

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer: It’s inaccurate, it’s not responsible, it’s misleading-you’re still going to go ahead and play it.

Obama SuperPAC head Bill Burton: Well, Wolf, just like we just talked about: What this ad does is tell the story of one guy and the impact that Mitt Romney had on him.

BLITZER: It’s misleading to tell-

BURTON: Well, this is your opinion. But, but-

BLITZER: Most independent fact-checkers, and we’re independent-

BURTON: What fact in that ad is wrong?

BLITZER: The impression that you get that he killed her.

BURTON: So you’re saying that that’s an impression.

BLITZER: Anyone who watches that 60-second ad comes away and says, “Mitt Romney’s responsible, at least indirectly, for this lovely woman’s death.”

BURTON: I just don’t think that’s true. And we would never make that case. The point of the ad-

BOLDUAN: Well then, the ad fails, because that’s the message you take away from it, Bill. Whatever message was intended in this commercial is not-nobody hears.

BURTON: It’s clearly lost on some folks, make no mistake about that. But the truth is, is that what this ad is about, is what Mitt Romney wants his campaign to be about.

From the Washington Free Beacon which includes the video.

President Obama: “You’ve got these SuperPAC’s that are just, just goin’ crazy.”  Perhaps he said this before he knew that this ad was out there.

Priorities USA, run by Bill Burton, who used to work in the White House, puts out an anti-Romney ad that suggests that Romney may have, in part, caused the death of a man’s wife, and DNC head Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is not sure of the party affiliation of Priorities USA?  Are you flipping kidding me?

John Roberts, of FoxNews: “You probably saw we were talking with John McCain a couple of minutes ago. We aired a little bit of that Priorities USA ad. Should the Democrats be releasing an ad that accuses a presidential candidate of being responsible–through inference–of being responsible for a woman’s death?”

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz: “Well, first of all, that’s a Priorities USA, it’s not a Democratic ad –“

Roberts: “I understand–“

Wasserman-Schultz: “–a Priorities USA Super PAC ad, which we had nothing to do with it.”

Roberts: “Do you deny that they’re Democrats?”

Wasserman-Schultz: “I have no idea of the political affiliation of folks who are associated with that Super PAC.”

Roberts: “Bill Burton, who used to work in the White House, who worked for the Obama campaign in 2008?”

Wasserman-Schultz: “That is a Super PAC ad that is not affiliated with the Obama campaign or the party.”

D Wasserman Schultz later tweets: Clearly Priorities USA is a Democratic SuperPAC. Was trying to state the obvious: we have no control over their activities.

Question: “Conservative super PAC, American Crossroads, has a new video — or a new ad.  It calls on President Obama to denounce the ad by Priorities — the main pro-President Obama super PAC that links Mitt Romney to the death of a steelworker’s wife.  Do you have a response to the ad?”

WH Press secretary Jay Carney: “I am not aware of the new super PAC ad that you reference.  I find it rich with irony.  But I’m wondering if — there’s so many different groups out there — if that particular Republican super PAC is urging itself or some other  — the Republican candidate or some other Republican leader to denounce the other third-party Republican super PAC ad that questions whether or not the President is an American citizen.”  Huh?

Question: “But this is the super PAC that President Obama in February said to his — basically to his top bundlers it’s okay to move forward supporting this super PAC.  Don’t you at some point have to say something to make this go away?  I mean, this is the fourth day that you’ve gotten questions on this.”

Carney: “We cannot — we do not control third-party ads.”

Q: “But you could say something.”

Carney: “What this President is focused on is what he can do as President, and what his message is about what our economic future can be and should be as he campaigns around the country.  Again, perhaps others should then — it should be incumbent on others to give evaluations and assessments and condemnations, if called for, of other ads that you judge out of line.  What this President is focused on is helping the economy grow, helping it create jobs.  And when he is out there campaigning, he is bringing a message about what his vision is for the future.  That’s what he is focused on, and as he should be.”

Deputy campaign manager for the Obama campaign Stephanie Cutter: “I don’t know the facts about when Mr. Soptic‘s wife got sick or the facts about his health insurance.”  Ms. Cutter was denying knowing anything about the Soptic ad, which essentially accused Romney of killing this man’s wife.

Obama campaign spokeswomen Jen Psaki: “…we don’t have any knowledge of the story of the family.”

It has since become clear that nearly everyone in the Obama campaign seemed to know about Soptic and the ad.

Romney spokesperson Andrea Saul: “To that point, if people had been in Massachusetts, under Gov. Romney‘s health care plan, they would have had health care.”

Ann Coulter on Saul’s response: “This moron—she should be off the campaign.”

Amanda Henneberg, a spokesperson for the Romney campaign, in a statement: “President Obama‘s campaign has been caught lying about its knowledge concerning a vicious smear run by his Super PAC.  And now, they have doubled down with another dishonorable and dishonest attack. In 2008, candidate Obama said `you make a big election about small things’ when you don’t have a record to run on.  Since President Obama can’t run on record unemployment, falling incomes, and massive debt, he has decided to run a dirty campaign that is an affront to everything he claims to stand for.”
_______________________________________

Roger Simon, Politico on a Romany ad to restore the welfare to work approach: “But I think that’s the dog whistle in this ad.”

Gordon Peterson, PBS Host: “Anybody else hear a dog whistle?”

Charles Krauthammer: “Any time a real issue is brought up here, all of a sudden it’s a silent dog whistle that only liberals hear. If Barack Obama had been white like say Bill Clinton, and he had done this, you would have the same attacks. Clinton‘s the guy who passed the law in the first place. Was that a dog whistle? Was he a racist?”

The editor in chief of Black Enterprise: “Black unemployment still stands at nearly 14%. How do you communicate that the economy is headed in the right direction?”

President Obama: “Most economists will tell you that there is no doubt the economy has gotten stronger, but we are digging ourselves out a deep hole. There are a lot more things we could be doing. To get them done, we need cooperation of Congress. We got the payroll tax portion of [my American Jobs Act] done, but what we didn’t get done is the assistance I was proposing to the states to help them hire back teachers, firefighters, and first responders, because one of the weakest parts of this recovery has been state and local government hiring.  Given the weaknesses of the construction industry, the American Jobs Act proposed that we rebuild schools, roads, bridges, airport, and ports. That would provide small businesses with opportunities as contractors and vendors in this rebuilding process. Again, Congress needs to act.”

Anti-Allen West has an ad with him punching out various people in the boxing ring.
Allen West: “There would be national outrage.  That’s part of the duplicitous hypocrisy that comes with the liberal left. They believe that they can do anything, especially if you’re a black conservative…Where’s the outrage from Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and the NAACP about this?  They’re not going to say anything because they’re nothing but an effective wing of the Democratic Party.”

NAACP spokesman Hilary Sheldon: “Racist is not a term I would utilize to sum up this commercial,” Shelton told The Huffington Post. “It looks like a traditional, political, partisan commercial.  The language utilized doesn’t present Allen West as a stereotype of an African American.  The ad has him looking very well groomed, a serious look on his face and he’s wearing a suit. The only thing superimposed is a boxing glove as a symbolic analysis of his policies being inconsistent with the values of retirees, women and African-American families.”

Herman Cain tweet: Dem PAC ad Disparaging @AllenWest is Distasteful and Dishonest.

Van Jones, former Green Czar for Obama: “This [Chick-fil-A thing] became not an issue about marriage equality, it became an issue about free speech, and appropriately so. Once the mayor stepped in.”

George Stephanopoulos: “You think that was a mistake.”

Jones: “I think it was a huge mistake, because once the mayor stepped in and said we’re going to use the power of the government to punish people because they have a different opinion, then the entire country had to stand against that kind of abuse of authority. However, I think, citizen boycotts of Chick-fil-a or any other company that you do not agree with, that’s appropriate. Citizen boycotts are appropriate. Government stepping in, not appropriate. “  What?  I find myself agreeing with Van Jones?

Conservatives:

George Will, on the so-called demise of the TEA party: “[This is] Another example of journalistic malpractice in this country – the constant writing off of the TEA Party, which just goes about its business of electing senators.  They’ll elect Cruz, they’ll probably elect Mourdock in Indiana, they’ll probably elect Deb Fischer in Nebraska.  Often,…the most interesting and important fights in American politics aren’t between the parties, they’re within the parties. People say about Ted Cruz, well, he’s part of the anti-intellectual TEA Party. Well, Princeton, Harvard, clerked for Justice Rehnquist, I don’t think so.  Then, they say, well, he doesn’t play well with others.  And people in Texas say, he doesn’t play well with others?  Send him to Washington.”

Mitt Romney: “Join me in welcoming the next president of the United States, Paul Ryan.”

Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney’s newly picked vice presidential running mate: “This is the worst economic recovery in 70 years. Unemployment has been above 8 percent for more than three years, the longest run since the Great Depression. Families are hurting.  We have the largest deficits and the biggest federal government since WWII.   Nearly 1 out of 6 Americans are in poverty–the worst rate in a generation.  Moms and dads are struggling to make ends meet.  Household incomes have dropped by more than $4,000 over the past four years.  Whatever the explanations, whatever the excuses, this is a record of failure.”

Paul Ryan: “But America is more than just a place…it’s an idea.  It’s the only country founded on an idea.  Our rights come from nature and God, not government.  We promise equal opportunity, not equal outcomes.  This idea is founded on the principles of liberty, freedom, free enterprise, self-determination and government by consent of the governed.  This idea is under assault.  So, we have a critical decision to make as a nation.”
Paul Ryan: “The commitment Mitt Romney and I make to you is this: We won’t duck the tough issues…we will lead!  We won’t blame others…we will take responsibility!  We won’t replace our founding principles…we will reapply them!”

Paul Ryan: “They’re [the Obama administration] more concerned about the next election than they are of the next generation.”

Erick Erickson of RedState: “PickingPaul Ryan must be the beginning of a campaign shake up, not the end.”

Paul Gigot of the WSJ, of Paul Ryan: “I think he has an executive mentality.”

Romney surrogate John Sununu on CNN: “Obama hasn’t passed a budget in four years, he’s a wuss.  Obama has rejected the recommendation of his own Simpson-Bowles, on a budget package, he’s a wuss. He wants to lead from behind, he’s a wuss!”  He was referencing Ed Rendell‘s book is “A Nation of Wusses.”

Mitt Romney: “I don’t want [for the United States] to become Europe.”

Rick Lowry to Rachel Maddow: “Republicans should go on offense on Medicare, because the president as part of ObamaCare passed $700 billion in cuts in Medicare. And Romney wants to repeal ObamaCare, including those cuts…The fact is, Rachel, if a Republican were proposing $700 billion, had passed $700 billion in Medicare cuts, you’d be savaging that president for their brutality to seniors.”

Allen West, after finding out the Alcee Hastings was still complaining about Chick-fil-A food that he brought the CBC 6 months ago: “It is the American taxpayers’ dollars being used.  I don’t feel like it’s my responsibility to go out and get steak and lobster tails for the members of the Congressional Black Caucus.  Chick-fil-A was sumthin’ that I brought in for that lunch, and, at the end of that meeting, there was nothing left, so I don’t know what Congressman Hastings is talking about.”

Rep. Joe Walsh: “There is a radical strain of Islam, in this county—it’s not just over there—who try to kill Americans every week.”

Dennis Miller: “The footage from Mars looks a litle shaky to me.  Why send a camera to Mars for footage that looks like DeLorean buying blow, when I can just throw my iPhone out the car window near Barstow.  I wish we’d see something really cool coming out of Mars, like a squirrel waterskiing.”

Dennis Miller on the new socialist president of France who wants a 75% tax rate on the rich: “It’s appropriate that the new [French] president’s name is Hollande because that’s where all the rich will flee to.”

Rick Santorum on abortion: “A lot of people talk about liberty, but if you’re not alive, it’s not worth much.”

Rick Santorum: “[Paul Ryan] is a disciple of Jack Kemp.  That’s the Huckabee smiley face of conservatism.”

Conservative snark:

Ann Coulter: “[Obama] is trying to get the stupid single women voters, which is the Democratic Party base.  If Obamacare goes through and Obama is reelected, you’re talking about the total destruction of wealth in America.  It’s the end of America as we know it.  There will be no innovation.  There will be no growth.  Great, you’ll get free contraception.  You won’t have to pay a $10 co-pay.  But it will be the end of America! Think about that.  Their base is not women.  It is divorced, separated, single women.  It’s women who are looking at the government to be their husbands.  That’s the base of the Democrat Party.  ‘Please pay for my child care, my contraception, my housing, my food.’ ”

Ann Coulter: “[Sandra Fluke] is the Andrea Saul of the Obama campaign.”

Jodi Miller: “The Media Research Center found that 86% of Romney’s recent media coverage was negative.  The networks apologized and promised to get that figure up to 100% as soon as possible.”

Jodi Miller: “It turns out that 10% of Facebook profiles may be fictional.  Some of the fake profiles include pets, women who claim they have slept with Justin Bieber, and the guy who told Harry Reid about Romney’s tax returns.”

Jodi Miller: “An ABC news reporter married a press secretary for the Obama campaign.  The couple is registered at Bed, Bath, and Bias.”

From Rush Limbaugh’s Pearls of Wisdom:

Rush: “Obama oughta barely be registering 35 or 40%. Given what he has done to this country. Given his policies. This BS of Romney‘s positions on the issues? What about Obama‘s actual affect on human life? What about Obama’s actual affect on people’s lives? This stuff is such a crock.”

Rush: “Republicans are saying, ‘You’d better not pick Paul Ryan.’ You know why? The budget. They think Paul Ryan is an instant target on Medicare because Ryan is one of the few politicians in Washington to ever propose something to actually fix the problem.”  This remark was made before Paul Ryan was picked.

Rush: “Mitt Romney paid three-and-a-half million dollars in taxes last year. Mitt Romney paid $4.7 million in taxes in 2010. So if you add that up, you get $8.2 million in taxes Romney has paid in the past two years. Is that what the Democrats call not paying your taxes?”
Rush: “The one thing the white, working class voters don’t like is slothful welfare recipients. They don’t like slackers. They don’t like takers. They don’t like people sitting on the couch, getting a welfare check, watching television, when they know they’re paying for it.”

Rush: “You know where I make my mistake? And that is not very many mistakes, so when I say where I make my mistake, I’m an idiot. I foolishly, blindly, stupidly, dummkopfedly assume that everybody wants to provide for themselves. How silly.”

Rush: “Obama is doing everything he can to grow the government while making it look like he doesn’t want to and isn’t. He’s doing everything he can to create more and more dependency in the American people while he’s saying he wants to do the opposite.”

Rush: “Obama wants to overwhelm this country with welfare recipients. That’s the fastest way to bring about the transformation that he wants.”

Rush: “Bain Capital saved 150 companies from bankruptcy. And there were people that worked at these 150 companies. And they didn’t go into bankruptcy. That means the jobs there were saved. But, yeah. You can’t assume that everybody would support their wife when she had cancer. John Edwards didn’t. Well, you tell me where I’m wrong. You tell me where I’m wrong.”

Rush: “A new ad running here in South Florida depicts Allen West, an African-American Republican, in a boxing ring wearing red boxing gloves. So they’ve got Allen West beating up an old woman, stealing money from a middle class family, and whacking a young woman. It’s sort of like the Paul Ryan ad shoving a grandmother in a wheelchair over a cliff. This is all they’ve got, folks.”

Rush: “Mitt Romney murdering a guy’s wife. That’s the latest Obama ad. It’s been tested among Democrat focus groups to work like a charm. Mitt Romney, Republican presidential nominee, wants guys’ wives to die.”

Rush: “Mitt Romney is not just a felon now, he’s a murderer! We have a campaign message here that’s basically: ‘Republicans commit murder, poison the water, poison the air, and starve kids!’ The Democrats have been doing this stuff for as long as I’m alive so it must work.”

Rush: “We are in the middle of a political terrorism campaign. This is political terrorism, what’s going on. Romney is a felon. Romney is a tax cheat. Romney kills women with cancer. Romney founded Bain Capital with money from right-wing death squads in El Salvador. Romney wants to rob from the middle class and give to the rich.”

Rush: “We have never had this great an opportunity, this great a contrast between who we are and who our opponents are.”

Rush: “We’ve never, ever had a greater opportunity to teach the American people who the Democrats of today are, who the liberals of today are, what they’re doing. The damage that they are wreaking on this country, we have never, ever had a greater opportunity, and I’m sorry, Republican Party, it’s not enough to do it every day on talk radio.”

Rush: “We’ve got the truth on our side, and that’s Obama’s economic record. We’ve got the truth. All we have to do is be unafraid to say it.”

The Conservative Press:

Ed Helms to Jay Carney: “many times in 2008 — [Obama] talked about changing the tone in politics in saying that this kind of negativity doesn’t add to the debate. Do you really think at that podium that it’s fair for someone to suggest that a candidate’s actions led to someone’s death?”

Ed Helms: “…part of…[Obama’s] vision in 2008 was changing the tone. So the question is, how can he now stand by idly and just say — one of his former White House aides is running this thing that says that Mitt Romney may have had something to do with someone’s death? How do you stand by, now that you’re in power — that was part of your vision before.”

President Obama: “I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back. Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.”

“I believe in American workers….”
Apparently ONLY those UNIONIZED workers, though.
Obama let 20,000 auto workers who were NOT in a union lose their pensions.

”….now the American auto industry has come roaring back.”
Roaring back???
The ”saved” part of the auto industry owes the government (us) over $25 BILLION dollars!!!
The ”saved” part of the auto industry only looks somewhat good on paper because Obama has ordered hundreds of FLEETS on new cars for every federal department that could absorb them.
(One such agency now has 9,500 cars, all new, and only 11,000 total employees!)
The ”saved” part of the auto industry has instituted a dangerous and stupid sub-prime loan program to try to sell cars. Their buyers can probably not afford those cars and will default and lose their cars, just like sub-prime buyers of homes are doing.

“Now I want to do the same thing….. in every industry.”
No, no, no, no, no!!!
This is the same Obama who has been peppering his speeches with the phrase: “trickle-down fairy dust.”
Look in the mirror for the one on fairy dust, Obama!
