Goebbels knew the power of controlling what people thought. Those that did not had to face the secret police. Those who were taken in by Goebbels were enthralled by colour film – rarely seen being used by politicians elsewhere as it was considered too unreliable. Films such as “The Eternal Jew” ( a black and white film) hammered home the anti-Semitic message of the party; “Triumph of the Will” portrayed the might of Hitler and Germany. The displays at Nuremburg – done in partnership with Albert Speer – are significant achievements even by today’s standards of size and complexities of organisation.

Barack Obama has a sketchy history with regard to elections and lying about his opponents is not a new tactic.

In 1995 he pounded Alice Palmer and drive her from a a race for the Illinois State Senate

In his first race for office, seeking a state Senate seat on Chicago’s gritty South Side in 1996, Obama effectively used election rules to eliminate his Democratic competition.

As a community organizer, he had helped register thousands of voters. But when it came time to run for office, he employed Chicago rules to invalidate the voting petition signatures of three of his challengers.

The move denied each of them, including incumbent Alice Palmer, a longtime Chicago activist, a place on the ballot. It cleared the way for Obama to run unopposed on the Democratic ticket in a heavily Democrat district.

“That was Chicago politics,” said John Kass, a veteran Chicago Tribune columnist. “Knock out your opposition, challenge their petitions, destroy your enemy, right? It is how Barack Obama destroyed his enemies back in 1996 that conflicts with his message today. He may have gotten his start registering thousands of voters. But in that first race, he made sure voters had just one choice.”

He had disinformation about Hillary Clinton distributed in 2008:

With Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland nodding in agreement behind her, Clinton accused Obama of emulating the tactics of Karl Rove, President Bush’s former political director who is reviled by Democrats.

Obama “is continuing to send false and discredited mailings with information that is not true to the voters of Ohio,” Clinton said. Watch Clinton demand a ‘real campaign’

One mailing says her health care proposal would force everyone to buy health insurance, regardless of ability to pay, a charge Clinton vehemently denied.

“Sen. Obama knows it is not true that my plan forces people to buy insurance even if they can’t afford it,” she said.

His treatment of Mitt Romney is worthy of Joseph Goebbels:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

And if Obama couldn’t lie, he’d have little to say.

Obama has gone to great lengths making the legal appear to be unseemly.

WASHINGTON — Hammering Mitt Romney for his tax havens and offshore bank accounts is pure political “gold” in the swing state of Ohio, a Democratic congressman who represents the state said Wednesday.

Rep. Tim Ryan said highlighting the way that Romney’s private equity company Bain Capital drove American jobs overseas, as well as the fact that he has a Swiss bank account and accounts on tropical islands, is killing the GOP hopeful with rustbelt voters.

The man who spends limitless hours with George Clooney and the Hollywood elite claims Mitt Romney is out of touch.

Then Obama began to accuse Romney of being a pioneer of outsourcing.:

“Governor Romney’s experience has been in owning companies that were called ‘pioneers of outsourcing’ – that’s not my phrase – ‘pioneers of outsourcing,'” Mr. Obama told the crowd. “My experience has been in saving the American auto industry.

In his first campaign event since the Supreme Court’s decision a week ago to uphold his health care law, Mr. Obama also defended his sweeping changes to the system: “The law I passed is here to stay,” he said. “It is going to make the vast majority of Americans more secure.”

Obama’s ad about the alleged Romney outsourcing was awarded the 4 Pinocchio maximum by the Washington Post.

The Obama campaign fails to make its case. On just about every level, this ad is misleading, unfair and untrue, from the use of “corporate raider” to its examples of alleged outsourcing. Simply repeating the same debunked claims won’t make them any more correct.

It was also discredited by FactCheck.org.

Most recently Obama attempted to portray Romney as being dishonest- going so far as to suggest that Romney is a “felon”– about when he left Bain:

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee has said that he left the private equity firm in 1999, but new reports indicate that he may have stayed on until 2002.

The Boston Globe reported Thursday on SEC filings dated after February 1999 that state that Romney is the firm’s “sole stockholder, chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president.” A 2003 Massachusetts disclosure form says that he owned 100 percent of the company in 2002, and forms indicate that he earned at minimum $100,000 as an “executive” in 2001 and 2002, apart from investments.

But first, is there anything other than the SEC filings to suggest a hands-on Romney role at Bain post-February 1999?

No is the word from four sources who communicated with CNN on Thursday — all of whom have firsthand knowledge of Bain’s operations at the time in question. Three of the four are Democrats, and two of the four are active Obama supporters in Campaign 2012.

All four told me Romney is telling the truth.

We have never disputed that Romney remained the owner of Bain while he was running the Olympics committee. The issue always has been, who was running Bain? Nothing in the SEC documents contradicts what Romney has certified as true.

On that point, the Obama campaign cites snippets of a few news clippings to make a case that Romney was still a part-time manager of Bain after he left to run the Olympics. But a close reading shows these news accounts don’t contradict Romney either.

Given that the plaintiffs’ lawyers will try to list as many defendants as possible to try to force a settlement, one can be certain Romney would have been named if there had been any hint of his involvement. But he was not named, despite the SEC filings suggesting his control of the shares.

In other words, creditors apparently had determined Romney was only a passive investor.

We would reassess our judgment should somebody come up with evidence that Romney took part in specific management decisions or had any active role (not just a title) at Bain after he left to head the Olympics. But nothing we’ve seen directly contradicts Romney’s statements — which he has certified as true under pain of federal prosecution — that he “has not had any active role” with Bain or “been involved in the operations” of Bain since then.

Over at Bretibart, Ben Shapiro points out the repeated Obama failures at the politics of personal destruction.

And thus the Obama campaign has sought to exploit the Bain Capital issue in a variety of ways. Each time, they’ve failed epically:

– When the Obama team first attacked Romney for his time at Bain Capital, Corey Booker and Bill Clinton quickly struck back, reminding Obama that attacking private equity was outrageous;
– When the Obama team, led by DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, attacked Romney for having offshore accounts, the New Media reminded the old media that Wasserman Schultz had offshore accounts of her own, and that Romney has never been accused of illegality in any way, shape, or form;
– When the Obama team attacked Mitt Romney with false charges of outsourcing via an obviously coordinated story in the Washington Post, the New Media immediately debunked the story and forced the media to back down;

Now, the Obama team has tried to pretend that Romney was still running Bain Capital between 1999 and 2002 by deliberately misreading federal filings – and the New Media has debunked them and forced the mainstream media into compliance.

I believe that the Obama campaign will be one of constant and intentional disinformation. Obama and his henchmen will be spreading lie after lie after lie in an effort to keep Romney off balance through character assassination.

Obama wants to (no, NEEDS to) associate Romney with Bain AFTER he left Bain for a reason.
Bain helped a company after Romney left that Obama wants to guilt-by-association Romney with.
That company is Stericycle.

BHO’s purpose with Bain is to side step the job and economy issues. So far with the help of the MSM it is working. Give the MSM a shiney object and they will gladly chase it, even if it’s a lie.

Now Obama is holding fundraisers in China – blatantly illegal under 11 CFR 110.20(b) which reads:

Contributions and donations may not be solicited, accepted, or received from, or made directly or indirectly by, foreign nationals who do not have permanent residence in the United States (i.e., those without green cards). This prohibition encompasses all US elections; including federal, state and local elections.

Well, AlGore got away with it…so why not?

Going around Congress to make doing business in the USA more difficult.
Obama set in place new federal regulations, which require the use of low-sulfur fuel for large marine vessels such as cargo and cruise ships.

The rule is scheduled to be enforced starting on August 1 by the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Coast Guard for ships operating within 200 miles of the shores of southeastern and south-central Alaska, according to the lawsuit.

The Alaska lawsuit faults the EPA, the Department of Homeland Security and others for using a marine treaty amendment as the basis for the new federal regulations without waiting for ratification of that amendment by the U.S. Senate.

Doc, while we debate the strangeness of Obama’s unique strategy, the quote in the title describes the moth in the flame of the candle euphemism of Obamas political life, if we use just a few more lines.

I know the purist will argue the distraught Macbeth is grieving for his wife and how all his machinations have been for nothing, but I think Obama has reached a similar point; his chances of consolidating his political demagoguery and power for evermore are decreasing almost daily. The stark realization of being so close, only to accept the ignominy of failure and the demise of his political career is portrayed in the paragraph above.

It is fun for me to seek out modern meaning from the ancient verses.

In most of my writings, I am not the least bit shy as to using Hitler, Goebels and whoever else I can think of to this President, the MSM Propaganda Factory or his boot licking lackeys known as the Democratic party and as I call them, the RINO scum.

The facts are there for all to see in his own words and associations. He is acting in accordance with the lessons he has learned from his mentors, those lessons being leftist and worse.

Case in point: The big lie! One only has to look at his attacks on Bain (a company he take contributions from) and the openly blatant lies he is putting out that have already been disproven by his own MSM Propaganda factory! I could go on and on, but others have documented the open lies so much better than I can.

Bottom line. DrJohn is dead on point! As Randy says in #3, how can anyone trust an habitual liar? I’ve been asking that question since well before he was elected. Sorry Tom, I studied the photo and didn’t realize it was our president. Now that’s kind of funny, but maybe he is losing some of that charisma and instant recognition.

If we look at the analogy, Goebbels was a master of propaganda and Speer was a master of design. It is hard to picture our president with enough where with all to coordinate the propaganda machine that has been at his service these last six years. It is remarkable, that they and the Hollywood Elites are willing to sail on with the Obama Machine onto what appears to be certain failure. The damage to the reputation and integrity of both the MSM and Hollywood is incalculable at this point in time.

We see polls and ratings that place traditional news organizations in the position of quickly becoming obsolete and the Hollywood scene with its ability to hire the most talented facing serious competition from Independents and Canada. It is a drama being played out as surely as every candle burns itself into oblivion, but it is all the more intriguing because the loyalty and hubris of Obama’s protagonists refuse to admit failure and trim the sails to hit the breakers of defeat dead on with no thought to the eventual consequences and what they have on the line in this desperate gamble.

As a potential writer, I prefer to see the Independents wrest control of the film industry, but beyond the self-interest, it does get tiring to listen to the inflated egos of the Elites tell us how to live and whom we should support; when in reality, only a small portion of them worked their way up through the ranks, most of them acquired their positions and wealth the old fashioned way, through nepotism.

Consequently, this idea of Elitism and hereditary positions of power and wealth make sense to these paper Marxists. I call them paper Marxists because they have never felt hardship or discomfort, except for short stays in the drunk tank. Even though they receive special treatment, this is where they develop compassion for us more plebeian or lesser mortals; thus, they have earned the right to identify with the “people”. LOL

that the deregulation of the rightwing and the allowed the unbridled greed of the 1% and people like bain/romney led to the CRASH.

and by extension they are telling voters that electing romney would mean a return to the policies that led to the crash.

Oh, excuse me, I forgot to mention Speer. The one from whom we learned so much, and quickly forgot the lessons twenty years later, even to this day. Yes, Albert used slave Labor to rebuild the munitions, the refineries, and factories, and he managed to get them rebuilt within days of our onslaught and very costly bombing, for that he spent most of his life in Spandau Prison.

A big mistake! We incorporated far worse Nazis to help rebuild Western Germany, while letting Speer nefariously write, “Inside The Third Reich”. In those pages, he let us in on a terrible secret, we could have won the war in a few weeks once the bombing started. Yes throw your rocks and claim all kinds of bullshit, but those words are from the man who kept the National Socialist War Machine going more than anyone else, but did we listen to him? Hell No.

He maintained, the while we bombed ball bearing factories, tire factories, refineries, munitions and armament factories, and wasted time fire bombing Hamburg, we could have ended the war by concentrating on bombing ball bearing factories and the war would have quickly ground to a halt.

Would this knowledge have helped us in our other wars. Yes, I think so, but Obama surrounds himself with pompous eggheads rather than brilliant men like Speer who kept the Nazi Machine going against all logic. We have geniuses in Washington who think higher prices at the pump will bring prosperity to the world. Speer must be laughing at our stupidity and incompetence in his grave. We bring men wh have done nothing but theorize and put them into positions of power and control. Why weren’t the Nazis so inclined? Because they wanted to win: they didn’t set their sights on defeat.

Randy, as a former field grade officer, did you study the lessons offered by Speer, in your officer training?

I realize I am a nonconformist, but if there are former military men out there who want to argue the value of widespread bombing of war material and production as opposed to the bombing of one key element, I would like to read your argument.

A truck or tank or plane doesn’t need to run out of tires, ammunition, bearings, fuel, and batteries to make it inoperable; it only requires one key component to neutralize the machine. Speer maintained that by going after each of the components, we allowed him enough time to get the others back in operation; thus we lengthened the war and caused unnecessary loss of life on both sides.

War is fought in the trenches through attrition, but having leaders with a bit of common sense can bring about the end of wars much quicker.

Joe, it wasn’t just the lie, that kept the Nazi war machine going; they relied on men with ability. Oh, they took care of their Useful Idiots and put them into appropriate positions, but to wage war and to ramp up war munitions, they didn’t rely on eggheads who have accomplished nothing.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not praising the Third Reich, but there are many lessons to be learned from their ability to continue the war past the point of reason: what are we doing today, we are still fighting a tribal war ten years later with some of the same strategy and philosophy.

@Skook: @Skook: Unfortunately, our leaders wise in war are inhibited by politicians wanting something other than to win the war. Today, there are too many politicians in our military instead of warriors. HR McMasters is a warrior with a PHD in History. He was very successful in all that he did. His mistake was writing the book, Dereliction of Duty: Johnson, McNamara, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Lies That Led to Vietnam. He wrote that as a CPT and would not have made General if General Petraeus had not headed up the promotion board.

Skook, you are very right. Sun Tsu and hit war fighting tactics are still studied today. They must be updated, but are very relevent because they rely on basic premises that remain the same since they reflect natural naws ignored by most people. Those natural laws apply to most situations. I think we will see them at work in this election.

At the beginning, a captured British officer salutes Rommel when he passes by. Rommel salutes back. Genius was being acknowledge by a defeated person. We all know of course that in retrospect Rommel appears to also have been an honorable man. however, one cannot in any way argue his genius which gave many a victory to the Nazis in the early part of the war.

To me, it all seems like a cheap thrill, just a lazy way to capture an analogue emotion, to manufacture at will disdain for our President. It actually fills me with something akin to embarrassment to see it, the same feeling I’d have if I happened by a neighbor’s house and their blinds were open and I was unwillingly exposed to something private and salacious. Because there’s really no art to it, to a comparison like this. It’s closer to pornography, being merely explicit and visual, and satisfying a craving, rather than providing any intellectual nourishment.

I really enjoyed your thoughts on the film industry and wholeheartedly share your support of the independent film industry. Have you attempted to make any writing inroads there so far?

Clearly, the hereditary elites transcend both parties and all industries in American life. I won’t even bring up the obvious examples, although I would find it hard to believe anyone would label the Republican dynasties as “Marxist”.

Randy, the battle of Dien Bien Phu is one of the tragic battles of modern times. The French made a bad decision and continued on because they didn’t know how to end the battle and save face. I recommend “The Last Valley,” the hopelessness of the battle boggles the imagination. Everything was wrong from the beginning, but political officers designed the debacle and there was no escape. The book will cause the reader to draw parallels to modern situations. If you have not read the book, make sure you have a viable release for your emotions after you finish the book. It is one thing to waste material, it is only money, but to waste the lives of young patriots is horrible and unacceptable. I am afraid America has placed too much faith in incompetents. The power to wage and conduct war is beyond the capacity of a single man, especially, a community organizer.

Tom, it is embarrassing to admit, I thought the photo was Goebells. I don’t remember seeing actual photos of the man.

We who write these articles are required to provide at least one photo, and sometimes a photo will entice readers, more so if it is provocative. I have provided similar photos in the past and understand the position of the author. A picture of a flower won’t have the punch and the godfather of propaganda may be considered a punch below the belt, but it grabs the attention of the reader, of course the effect was partially wasted on me.

I have not tried script writing in the recent past. I had a Western script in the mill at one of the studios for several months six or seven years ago, but it was washed away. However, I have depoliticized the stories of my life and written them to have a general morality theme. I have edited it once and will soon do another proofread, and send it off to another author for more proofreading. There are 80,000 words within 35 chapters. It is exciting to have come this far with such a large body of work. It translates to 250 to 270 traditional pages. I am investigating several different marketing techniques including audio books and selling one chapter at a time for some people who like short stories, since each chapter is a short story, it makes no difference whether you start in the beginning or at the end. I realize the boredom of travel and how a good audio book makes the trip shorter.

I have several authentic Western voices as friends to try the audio route. I will definitely publish as an ebook, the traditional route is dicey because paper is fast becoming obsolete among young people. A fact that saddens me. The main thing is that I am making progress and I am want to get started on new projects and finish the Oregon Trail book.

The Left has and continues to presume that we,the people possess the attention span of a gnat. That may be in certain demographics. I do believe that every days passing brings its own unique subset of lies, posturing and baseless innuendo. This presumption must be general within the Obama WH, as he continually contradicts past assertions leaving one to wonder how badly the truth has been mangled by the mendacity of this regime. After the war Gen.Guderian was asked to prepare an order of battle for the Allies rating units by his own professional estimation. I have heard of only a few of units he marked as superior in his opinion. That would mirror some of the esteem shown to Rommel perhaps.

You are correct. Although, I’d have thought it’s effect upon you would have led to a longer posting. After all, with the daily lies, half-truths, and misleads the Obama campaign peddles around, the material you have to choose from is a nearly inexhaustible supply.
