The Dog Days of Summer Are Here
Some of us are willing to give a tacit seal of approval to people who eat dogs, but if someone has the audacity to tie a dog cage with a dog inside to the top of their station wagon, before embarking on a family vacation, a serious breach of the holy covenant between man and dog has been breached. I assume most of you are aware that people in Indo-China, Indonesia, Korea, and our president have enjoyed the flesh of dogs with no misgivings; however, in all the world, no one agrees with securing the family dog to the roof of a car.
Many people consider this single infraction to be serious enough to refuse to vote for Romney. They are willing to overlook our ruinous debt, the total disregard by White House personnel to pay Third World Hookers their hard earned money, A refusal to draft a budget, An energy policy that causes the rest of the world to laugh at us, Fast and Furious insanity that has cost the lives of a federal agent and hundreds of Mexican nationals, the paying of hundreds of millions of dollars in phony Green Energy Scams to Obama bundlers, an Attorney General who refuses to answer questions and is primarily concerned with justice for “His People,” a GSA crew that spends money in gross indulgences, Leon Panetta’s personal indulgences of flying on the government’s magic carpets for his personal trips, and Michelle’s personal indulgence of vacation flying on her own Air Force One to arrive four hours early and avoid the crowded conditions on her husband’s plane, while the First Couple lectures the rest of us on energy consumption.
Just because our president admits to enjoying dogs for dinner in his best seller, “Dreams From My Father” is no reason to look down on him; it was Romney who tied the dog to the car and risked all types of misfortune and personal injury to the dog.
“With Lolo, I learned how to eat small green chill peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy). (Many Americans are wondering if our president and Lolo had too many peacock dinners.)
If Romney would have eaten the dog before the trip or barbecued the dog for a road snack during the trip, the public would have found his actions to be far more palatable.
This is a serious election and we must keep our priorities in a logical perspective; otherwise, we will put too much emphasis in the failures of a flawed leader and dog eater, and fail to concentrate on a man who drove with a dog on the top of his car.
Epilogue: No dogs were eaten by me or Romney, while writing this article.

Truck drivers need a sense of humor or they go crazy. You have a really bad day and are ready to give it up, then the next day you listen to a driver tell about a bad day they had, and you tell them, “You think that was bad, let me tell you about my day.” Then, other drivers try to top the other stories. Who knows if they are true or not.
I know you will agree that what is going on in the white house and congress isn’t a laughing matter. Why haven’t the republicans gone after Obama and his fake birth certificate and his using someone else’s Social Security card. I recently wrote a letter to my Federal reps in congress and included a copy of the fake birth certificate and explained how anyone with an open mind can see for themselves it is a fake, and told them what to look for. I then asked them if they are going to do anything about it. I suggest others write there reps and ask them the same question. Include a copy of the fake certificate, or a link to a web site where they can see it. I also told them that we no longer have two SEPARATE political parties: Just one party, with two branches. I should be getting a reply from them soon. I wonder what they will say. Whatever it is, I know it will be the usual long-winded type letter that I keep telling them not to send. Just the facts.

I never had satellite or cable until about a year ago. Whenever I stayed in a motel or stayed at someone’s home who had one, I would always tune to The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, or The Military Channel. I would have to pay extra to get extra channels that have The Military Channel, and I choose not to. You will like some of the stuff Animal Planet has on now, if you can get it. You have to keep in mind that all of these channels are owned by one company, and they are a part of the global warming fraud. You will hear about the planet warming up, which it is actually going through a cooling cycle, and you will hear about glaciers getting smaller and small, when most of the glaciers are getting bigger.
I only have a 40″ TV, but it is bigger than I have ever had before.

and the technician who had fix the small satellite outside turn it on and said, your sound is not there,
I said why, he said I don’t know, I said can you get it, he said, that ‘s not my job, I said I’ll pay extra,
he said I don’t know how, I said you never study on television only on satellite, he said yes,

You have to be careful what you take apart today. There are so many hazardous things in a lot of todays’s products. Not just the electronic stuff.
I read where China is collecting scanners and copiers from around the world, not for the electronics, but for the information stored in them. I didn’t know that the last thing scanned or copied stays in the device until something else is inputed. China is getting an unknown amount of info from individuals and businesses this way. I hope our Federal agencies know about this.

Hey Smorg No knock on your chosen stock guru but with 3 major indiciis up over 50% in last 3 years and close to 10% in first 4 months this year, monkeys throwing darts at the WSJ have also done extremely well.
Bees Current bull market is in a high level consolidation and should resume uptrend as long as interest rates remain at historical lows.If current rather tepid recovery gains steam rates will slowly rise and markets will pull back.
Bigger question is the R.E. market which shows distinct signs of bottoming. Recovery here will be slow and painful for many.

Fools who think falsely that the stock market is going UP over the last 3 years are missing a major problem with their ”thinking.”
Overall, volume has dropped over the last 3 years.
Tons of cash sits on the sidelines.
So, where is all of the money coming from for what trading we see everyday?
Simple.
From other stocks.
There is no meaningful equity flowing into the market at all.
The same money from one investment is being sold and used to buy a new one, over and over.
In other words, investors are searching for (but not finding) the next big sector.
So, they rotate their money from one sector to the next in varying degrees of weight to various sectors.
There is only a fixed, small amount of money going back and forth in this way.
Since 3 years ago those same dollars have been involved in virtually all the trades.
Check Total US Volume (SIAC and NASDAQ) along with Total Dollar Volume over the last 3 or 4 years, to see I’m right.
Nan If I own an S&P fund or a fund that tracks the NASDAQ’s performance and it appreciates 40% during the time I own it I’ve made 40% on my investment minus commission.—simple. Fools think too much.

I don’t want to keep track of the markets, so I let someone else do it for me. He was averaging about a 15% gain until Obama got elected. I think it is great that people like you do that. I think that should be one choice in any 401(k) and other retirement accounts.
I didn’t do as bad as a lot lot of people did, so I will stay with my “guru.” The outfit only charges 1.5%, which is about the lowest there is.

We’re glad we had an agent on our Credit Union’s payroll (no cost to us at all) when we started out.
But as we have gotten older and our risk-tolerance is lower we can handle putting our savings into safer areas like gold, cash, paycheck accounts (Richard is correct about using a fund that mirrors an index) and other safe investments.

A long time ago I was talking with my financial planner and he told me that he bought some of Rupert Murdock’s stock because Rupert knew how to survive a recession. Just a few days later I saw he had sold the stock. One or two days later I was in his office and asked him why he sold the stock if it was so good. He showed me the stock, and it had gone way up very quickly. He then said that every time stock goes up like that, it drops shortly afterward. He showed me on the chart where the stock was at that time and where he sold it. He said that when it drops low enough, he will buy it again.
He sits at his computer five days a week and watches that kind of stuff all day. He can react to the ups and downs faster than anyone who just checks stuff periodically.

I wasn’t recommending anyone buy gold today.
When I did my science fair project in the 1960’s refining gold out of the trash from our local space industry’s gold-plated connectors (I lost) gold was under $50 and ounce.
I used to bring in a 1/2 ton truckload to my smelt every week and I ended up with over 100 pounds of gold before I broke the smelt and competition for the raw materials made it not worthwhile to rebuild.
That’s the gold I own.
But some of it I have sold over the decades.
I still have dozens of pounds of the stuff.
And it’s been worth it, storing it over the years.
