And what do Dogs Against Romney have to say about President Obama’s canine cuisine?

John McCain knows how to tweet?!

McCain posted a picture from November 2010 of his son Jimmy’s bulldog, Apollo, on Twitter, with the following quip:

Good pic of my son Jimmy’s bulldog, Apollo – I’m sorry Mr. President, he’s not on the menu!

Romney aide Eric Fehrnstrom tweeted-a-sketch:

Overnight, #ObamaDogRecipes became a Twitter sensation with recipes such as golden fried retriever, chicken poodle soup, eggs rover easy, and pug chops.

One conservative blogger contributed a four course meal: great Danish, beagle with lox and cream cheese, collie-flower and German shepherd pie.

Gleeful Romney supporters fired off jokes, and even the campaigns got into the act.

Weeks ago top Obama aide David Axelrod tweeted a photo of Bo riding with the president in his limo with the caption “How loving owners transport their dogs.”

Now, a Romney advisor has retaliated with a revised caption: “In hindsight, a chilling photo.”

“What does Obama call a dog riding on the roof of a car?”

“What does Barack Obama call a dog show?”

Suddenly, this all makes sense now

President Obama has voiced his approval of the second chance Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is getting this season, just a year removed from serving 18 months in federal prison on charges related to a dog fighting ring.

Peter King of Sports Illustrated and NBC Sports reported Monday that Mr. Obama recently called Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie to praise the team for giving Vick a chance.

Lurie said Mr. Obama told him that “So many people who serve time never get a fair second chance,” King reported on

Lurie said Mr. Obama was “passionate about it,”

Makes you now wonder what the heck they were really serving up in these (The Japanese really do create weird incarnations of foreign food- ever had a Japanese pizza?)

Obama burgers are real! But doublecheck the ingredients!

    All good.
If it boils down (oops! Dog as food reference!) to which camp has the better sense of humor, the Republicans will win by a mile.

Another example of conservative over-reaction. Now this topic is to replace the Trayvon Martin story, I suppose, that conservatives will harp on.

    @Liberal1 (objectivity):

    Another example of conservative over-reaction.

Nope. That was over-reaction. This is just light-hearted ribbing. And lampooning your side for the big-deal made over what Romney did 30 yrs ago.

ROFLMAO @Liberal1 (objectivity) for thinking he needs to go into damage control mode.

Relax! We’re just having a little fun. Grow a funny bone, fer crissakes. No one takes this seriously- most of all conservatives!

    Your other comment:

Instead of focusing on the lack of Mit Romney’s (the flip-flop king) core political beliefs (which can change at any minute anyway), we’re going to concentrate on Obama/dog jokes.

The Obama campaign is grateful to talk about anything other than focusing on their record and the economy.

Of course this “issue” is of the absurd! We’re well aware of how ridiculous it is to criticize President Obama over his non-Vegan menu as a child; kinda like how ridiculous it is to criticize Romney over how he transported the family dog over 30 yrs ago. (I remember how common it used to be, btw, to see the family dog and/or children riding in the back of pickup trucks). Your side took this seriously as an issue; so I suppose I should be colored unamazed that you would assume our side is being serious about Obama’s “choice” of childhood cuisine.

    Sheesh…thanks for taking a bait!

Obama swallowed whole his step dad’s belief that ”you are what you eat.”
    Now Obama is dog meat.
    Check out the polls!
As low as a snake in the grass.

But does Michelle approve? Will the requirements for stamps now include the SPCA!? What will PETA?
Will dog now be on the menu in schools?

Will Michelle add a kennel to her White House garden?

Will she serve mutt a la mode at a state dinner?

Where is Pamela Anderson when we need her?

    Where is Fluffy?

So many question. So few answers.
