Obama Attacks Supreme Court…Calls The Possible Overturning Of ObamaCare “Unprecedented”

By 76 Comments 1,232 views

Obama is attacking the Supreme Court again. Last time he accused them of “reversing a century of law” which would lead to special interests, including foreign companies, to spend without limit during our elections. You may remember this occasion because Obama uttered the lie during his State of the Union speech, in front of all the justices and in response Justice Alito mouthed the words “not true.”

Now he attacks them again:

“Ultimately I am confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress,” Obama told reporters today while speaking with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

Strong majority? Please.

It barely passed the house 219-212, hell…even 34 Democrats defected and voted against it and EVERY Republican voted against it as well.

So he lies once again.

Not only that, since it’s passing the public has been against it. No better proof of that then the 2010 election which saw 60 Democrats thrown out of office for supporting the unconstitutional law.

Exit quote: Obama won’t even defend DOMA in court, which got 85 votes in Senate (incl. Biden & Reid), 342 in House, signed by Clinton. O-care a far cry.

Curt served in the Marine Corps for four years and has been a law enforcement officer in Los Angeles for the last 24 years.

This is one of the most disgusting comments ever!! 0-bama must know his 0-bamacare will be found unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of the United States. It should have come as no surprise, the constitutionality of this loser has been in doubt from day one. If he thinks he can make a political issue about a Supreme Court Ruling it will backfire for certain. Besides activism would be more likely if it was found constitutional give his appointment of Kagan.

    He’s out of control.

Having your budget shot down in the House 414-0. Now that’s what you call an overwhelming majority.

Pigs fly and pelicans wear briefs. Was this the grandstanding result of a leak from the SCOTUS or the narcissistic pomp of a delusional dotty double-faced douroucouli? Oh wait……one day late: for the April Fool !

Obama called the third co-equal part of our three-cornered federal government, “an unelected group of people.”
    Whew!
With all his czars Obama should keep his mouth shut.
The ”constitutional law lecturer” seems to have completely gone off the rails.
I wonder if he even had a question on one of his tests about what the concept separation of powers means.

@Spartan: I agree, probably his appointee Kagan who he specifically put on the bench to be an activist tipped him off. 0-bama is out of control and what a laugh to refer to the traitors who passed this bill as a strong majority.

    Skookum

Do you really think Kagan, the justice that should have recused herself from the case because of conflict of interest, could be so devoid of principles that she would tip off her benefactor regarding the decision. That would demean the integrity of the SCOTUS; she couldn’t be so partisan, no not Kagan.

For a law to be reviewed by the Supreme Court, it must pass both houses with a majority. Surely Obama is aware of this fact.

There would be very little for them to do otherwise.

I wonder if Obama thinks that when Ginsberg helps a Solicitor General frame his argument, that such help from the bench could be considered judicial activism.

Pure bull$hit. The Supremes are there to see if the law follows the Constitution. This is exactly how the Supreme Court operates. Separation of Powers so that bad laws are struck down. Legislators can go back to the drawing board. Wasn’t this monster of a law devised by the Tides foundation and passed swiftly through Congress without it being read. Do your job the Supremes and strike down this Obamanation.

It sounds just like an order to the ‘bummer from Sorryos, laughing all the way to his secret hideway, while the sorry ass puppet has no idea what the consequences are. When he finds out, it’ll be too late and his puppeteer will no longer be taking calls. Bill and Hillary will be LTAO! Nice.

Obama’s biggest fault is his arrogance. This is especially true with his great lack of experience in most any worldly occupation. He has never been in an environment where bluster and innuendo is of little importance. This didn’t just start when he ascended onto the throne at INVESCO Field in Denver. After the election, he truly believes he is King of the United States if not, the World. He believes there are no consequences for his actions and edicts.
Instead of surrounding himself with knowledgeable people, he hired yes men and women. They bend over backwards to make sure the King’s agenda is accomplished by any means, after all, the liberal philosophy is the ends justifies the means. He hired the Court Jester as VP and an overly ambitious (anyway you can) Attorney General. Hillary got the DOS job to appease her and to prevent her from crying foul about the campaign funds and candidate legibility.
A truly experienced leader would make sure there is always someone who has his back. Someone who has shown they can be trusted. Yes men cannot be trusted. Their first inclination is to say yes. While few liked Cheney, he was experienced and had the younger Bush’s back. Bush would never have made a bone head mistake like Obamacare with its Constitutional issues.
The arrogance started with the return of the Churchill Bust to Great Britten followed closely with an IPOD containing the “Greatest hit Speeches of Barack Obama”. Then after his apology tour of the world, he wondered why he had no respect from the World leaders. He pulled a Carter by condemning the President of Egypt and lost another US supporter in the Arab World. Playing paddy cake with Iran has earned him the distrust of nearly all of our traditional allies. The Middle East has never been more volatile because of Obama’s unintended consequences.
Obama’s foray into economics and business has been a total failure. Some diehard liberals will continue to claim that he saved GM and Chrysler. What he really did was to disenfranchise 10s of thousands of non union workers at the expense of union workers. Also, millions of retired people depending on the GM bonds that Obama vacated lost their retirement. His record in alternative energy companies is even worse if that is possible. Every day one or more of his subsidized companies file for bankruptcy of lay off workers. Name one other leader who would change the mission of the organization who placed a man on the moon to one of spreading the word to Islamic countries?
Now, the undocumented president has the nerve to condemn the Supreme Court of this Nation because it doesn’t care for his edicts. I would not be surprised if sometime he confines them to the North Tower to await beheading at the King’s whim! If one could see behind the scenes, we would likely see the DOJ preparing presidential pardons for most of the Obama staff for their illegal activities like “fast and furious”, fund raising, violating the FAR procurement procedures, exerting undue influence on various corporations, and numerous unlawful actions. There will be plenty of witnesses against Obama and his chosen ones. After the King is dethroned, people will come out of the wood work to seek favor with the newest people in power. Obama needs to make sure they are all accommodated prior to his dethronement ceremony.

    Mr. Irons

He can call it all he wants, but even the Judges he helped advocate for the Bench aren’t exactly siding in his Pocket over this matter. They didn’t really like being humilated infront of Congress during that State of the Union speech where Democrats did a standing ovation with Obama attacking the Surpeme Court. It doesn’t do well for forming alliances to embrass your own on National TV, Mister President.

This guy is so wrapped up in himself that he even thinks that he can scold the Supreme Court in front of the nation, then do it again, then expect them to do what he tells them to do like a parent expects their kids to obey them.

We have to keep in mind that the justices could stand in his way of trashing the US Constitution. If someone made toilet paper with the Constitution printed on it, I am sure he would order a lifetime supply.

  16. 19

    Sounds like somebody’s worried

But SCOTUS is just enforcing the Constitutional law of the land as laid down by the Founding Fathers

All of this exists primarily to protect the country from power-drunk radicals like yourself, Barry- no wonder you’re so bummed out

    @FAITH7:
“……..the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress,” Obama said.
Who remembers that final vote tally?
In the House the vote was 219-212, with 34 Democrats joining ALL of the Republicans on the NO side.
I’d say SCOTUS shouldn’t have much qualm of conscience over that partisan of a bill.

I’m guessing that Obama guesses that the justices don’t go to any conservative blogs, or watch any conservative TV shows, or listen to any conservative radio shows. He is hoping that he is the only source of information for them. Maybe two of them, but not all nine.

This guy is real trouble…note how he has jumped on the Zimmerman case. He smacks the Catholic church in the chops…revokes, or at least rewrites the establishment clause…then says he is protecting women. When the Church responds with justified indignation…he friends at ABC/NBC start the meme that Republicans want to take away a women’s right to birth control.

What garbage this guy professes. Wait for the White House attacks on Romney. They are going to call him a racist because of his religion. Let’s see how the Obama media lets that playout. For a former professor of Contitutional Law…Obama doesn’t seem to know much about how the SCOTUS is supposed to work. I actually wonder if he has even read Marbury v Madison?

  21. 25

    mathman

Judicial Activism (JA) is the writing of law by judges. See Roe v. Wade.
The striking down of laws which do not comply with the Constitution is the defined job of the Supreme Court. See Marbury v. Madison (1808).
So Zippy is incorrect about JA.
That is nothing new. He is factually incorrect in a disconcertingly large number of his public utterances.
It is his expressed opinion that the Constitution is flawed; this is an utterance which is on record. Apparently he is the Supreme Court all on his lonesome, and able to tell us what is and what is not legal. Gosh. What a concept. Divine Right of Ones.
Apparently the hunger for a King never dies out. Folk lust for someone to tell them how to live their lives. Unfortunately kings have a regrettable history; tyrants somehow make life miserable for all. Unless you can name a Monarch who has actually improved the lot of all of his people. I cannot name such a person.
And King Putt is right up there with Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, and all the rest of the tyrants.
They begin badly and end worse.

Barry is going into full melt down. Barry is a narcissist. A narcissist MUST have adoration 24 hours a day. He must never be questioned by no one, not anyone. No one must ever say ‘ no’ to him. A narcissist NEVER takes responsibility for his own actions and blames everyone else. Narcissists do not believe they could ever be flawed. barry is melting down as he cannot believe those who once fell at his feet and worshiped him from afar have strayed.

P.S. I was once married to a narcissist so I have first hand knowledge what they are and how they act.

Today’s campaign speech from this supposed Constitutional Expert, was absolute proof that he neither understands the Constitution, nor have respect for the THIRD LEG of the balance of power. Reading the Constitution is NOT understanding it. Arrogance does not comprehend “balance of power.”

His arrogance, locked in by his narcissism, is beyond comprehension. How is this still not evident to half the country? Oh, yah, the MSM protects him.

A century ago, the headline in The Evening Sun declared, “ALL SAVED FROM TITANIC AFTER COLLISION” . . . . communications technology was their excuse. Today, the MSM led by the NYT has no such excuse. It’s in the room when Obama tells lies. This man is not only an ideologue, he’s also dumber than his acolytes and sycophants.

    The Court Strikes Back!!!!
Obama has until noon Thursday to hand in a three page (or shorter) single-spaced paper proving his allegation that the courts do not have the right to overturn a law passed by Congress and signed by the President.
5th circuit court is issuing the demand.

@Nan G: It seems as of late, more and more people are finally getting the courage to stand up to his bullying tactics. Let’s see how the press tries to cover this up like the 414-0 vote against his budget or probably the biggest threat to his presidency, Fast and Furious.

Obama just came out and said that he would respect the court’s opinion.
Must be his ”white” half showing!
He admitted, “the Supreme Court is the final say on our Constitution, and all of us have to respect it.”
    Yeah, real ”white” of him.

@Nan G: Does this situation remind anyone else of King John and the Magna Carta of 1215AD?

The 1215 charter required King John of England to proclaim certain liberties, and accept that his will was not arbitrary, for example by explicitly accepting that no “freeman” (in the sense of non-serf) could be punished except through the law of the land, a right which is still in existence today.

He is factually incorrect in a disconcertingly large number of his public utterances.

In short, you mean he lies a lot. Don’t be afraid to call it what it is.

When the Supreme Court was created, was it set up so that they had to make a yes or no decision on EVERY case, or could they rule that there is no law covering an issue, and give no decision, then refer the matter to congress to write a law covering the issue?

It seems wrong that when there is no law covering an issue, nine people in the entire country get to decide on the legality of it. When they make a decision, they should have to refer to the part of Federal law that thy used to make their decision.

We don’t have that problem in Idaho. The gun shops I have been in have the walls covered with them. I have never felt safer than after I moved here. Most people know that there could be a lot of concealed guns around them, so they have to be careful in choosing a target.
