Obama mocks reporter with lies- left wing press swallows it whole [Reader Post]

It is an impressive thing to watch Barack Obama smile and lie through his teeth. It is another equally impressive thing to watch the left wing press zombies sit with their drool buckets, nodding their heads without question, thoroughly intimidated.

Fox News reporter Ed Henry asked Obama

“Your critics will say on Capitol Hill that you want gas prices to go higher, because you have said before that will wean the American people off fossil fuels onto renewable fuels. How do you respond to that?”

And Obama responded:

“Ed, just from a political perspective, do you think the President of the United States, going into reelection, wants gas prices to go up even higher?” he said. Turning to the room at large, he added, “Is there anybody here who thinks that makes a lot of sense?”

Now look closely at that answer.

“…just from a political perspective…”

And Obama added

Look, here’s the bottom line with respect to gas prices: I want gas prices lower because they hurt families.

Did you ever want to be a reporter for even a few minutes right at a certain moment?

I sure did.

I would have responded

“But Mr. President, in 2008 you told John Harwood that you were OK with high gas prices, it’s just that you didn’t want them to rise quickly.”

“In 2008 you also said that your Cap and Trade plan would cause electricity rates to skyrocket.”

“You said that you planned to bankrupt the coal industry.”

“You appointed Steven Chu to be Energy Secretary. One has to assume that you would only appoint people to Cabinet position who reflect your policies. Chu said he wanted the price of gasoline to be as high in the US as it is in Europe.”

“At a recent hearing Secretary Chu was asked if the overall goal of the administration was to get the price of oil down and he said ‘no.’

“It certainly appears as though all of your policies are about making energy costs very expensive for the American taxpayer, including gasoline prices. So you’ll excuse me for saying this, but in the face of a coming election why should anyone think now that you’re not simply a freaking liar?”

But then, that’s why I’m not a reporter.

@Mara:
Curt just answered the “who is more intelligent” question. Hint: It isn’t you.
