Weekly Open Thread – Under The Bus Goes Israel Edition -Bumped

…he has essentially denounced as evil and misguided, though in a lukewarm fashion, decades of American policy in the Middle East. Second, he has delegitimized Israel, at least within the context of its current borders. Third, he has by implication suggested that the rule of many of his allies is undemocratic and in consequence, declared himself King of Arabia. He has assumed ultimate responsibility for the political development of the region now. He’s declared it broken. Now he owns it.

Obama's "Katrina" Moment? [Reader Post]

As the Mississippi River flooding continues, New Orleans, directly on the river, is in the path of flooding. Water is water, regardless of its source. Whether it comes from a flood or a hurricane (Katrina comes to mind), it damages.

Do you remember how President George W. Bush was castigated by the MSM after Hurricane Katrina? He was hit hardest by (the late) Tim Russert, Wolf Blitzer, Keith Olbermann, Brian Williams, and Jack Cafferty.

DNC chair, Wasserman Schultz, tries to use Netanyahu as political human shield

In an unbelievably tactless act, DNC Chairwoman, Rep Debbie Wasserman-Schultz used a joint delegates meeting between Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanhayu, and the Republican Jewish Coalition and the National Jewish Democratic Council as a human shield for political campaigning in the upcoming Presidential election. With the PM present, Wasserman Schultz point blank asked the RJC to “pledge” they would refrain from using Israel as a campaign issue. Matt Brooks, RJC executive director, likened it to hijacking “these meeting in order to, in front of the prime minister, put a gag order in effect to prevent us from speaking out on Israel.”

Asked about Netanyahu’s reaction, Brooks said Netanyahu was “clearly uncomfortable and at one point said, ‘do you guys want me to leave the room and give you guys some privacy?’”

Netanyahu’s Full Speech to Congress….a Repudiation of Obama (Video)

You see, our conflict has never been about the establishment of a Palestinian state. It has always been about the existence of the Jewish state. This is what this conflict is about. In 1947, the United Nations voted to partition the land into a Jewish state and an Arab state. The Jews said yes. The Palestinians said no. In recent years, the Palestinians twice refused generous offers by Israeli Prime Ministers, to establish a Palestinian state on virtually all the territory won by Israel in the Six Day War.

They were simply unwilling to end the conflict. And I regret to say this: They continue to educate their children to hate. They continue to name public squares after terrorists. And worst of all, they continue to perpetuate the fantasy that Israel will one day be flooded by the descendants of Palestinian refugees.

Oh, The Compassion

While the people of Joplin struggle with the devastation, President and Mrs Obama take part in an arrival ceremony at Buckingham Palace. They will then have lunch with Her Majesty the Queen. In the mean time the search continues for survivors and bodies in the destruction that was once Joplin.

In between toasts, our president sends his “deepest condolence” and the head of FEMA to straighten out the mess. In the mean time, volunteers pour in to help search the destruction for survivors trapped in the wreckage.

Obama’s Latest Assault On The First Amendment

Obama is desperate, public opinion is turning against him and he is running out of time. These little machines and the internet are allowing the public to think without direction from the propaganda bureaus and to voice their opinions with others. Obama’s world of state controlled media is disintegrating, the truth is ravaging his media empire like a steak knife ripping through a ripe tomato.

Say What? May 24, 2011 edition [Reader Post]

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid: “There’s no need to have a Democratic budget in my opinion. It would be foolish for us to do a budget at this stage.”

Ed Schultz: “You see, being from the south, you know what these code words are all about. To say something about food stamps is not about white folks, it’s about black folks. There’s no question about it.”

Herb Kohl: “A 401(k) savings account should not be used as a piggy bank.”
