Democrats give hypocrisy a bad name [Reader Post]

Obama and his democrat thugs are making every effort to hamstring Republican fund raising efforts. The tools they are using for this purpose only add gasoline to the brightly burning fire of democrat hypocrisy. Obama has signaled that he once again will try to bypass Congress and out of thin air fabricate self-serving government rules to limit Republican fund raising.

The Obama administration is considering a number of measures to compel disclosure of the kind of anonymous campaign contributions that helped finance millions of dollars of attack ads against Democrats during the 2010 elections.

The White House last week began circulating a draft executive order that would require companies seeking government contracts to disclose contributions – including those that otherwise would have been secret – to groups that air political ads attacking or supporting candidates.

And here is the comedy gold:

The proposed order follows several actions by regulatory agencies that have a similar intent of making corporate and individual donations more transparent.

“More transparent”

Democrat thugs, led by Chris Van Hollen, are joining in the effort to shut down contributions to Republicans.

WASHINGTON — Unable to stanch the flow of corporate money to Republican causes, Democrats tried a new tack on Thursday by bringing a lawsuit against the Federal Election Commission to force the disclosure of tens of millions of dollars in secret donations.

The lawsuit seeks to close “a major loophole” that allows private companies and nonprofit groups to operate “under a veil of anonymity” in raising money for political work, said Representative Chris Van Hollen, a Maryland Democrat who brought the lawsuit along with lawyers for several liberal groups.

In another push for greater disclosure, President Obama is considering issuing an executive order that would require contractors with federal business to report their political donations. “His goal is transparency and accountability,” said the White House spokesman, Jay Carney.

The irony is that Barack Obama’s 2008 Presidential campaign set the standard for anonymous sources.

Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign is allowing donors to use largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor’s identity, campaign officials confirmed.

Faced with a huge influx of donations over the Internet, the campaign has also chosen not to use basic security measures to prevent potentially illegal or anonymous contributions from flowing into its accounts, aides acknowledged. Instead, the campaign is scrutinizing its books for improper donations after the money has been deposited.

The Obama organization said its extensive review has ensured that the campaign has refunded any improper contributions, and noted that Federal Election Commission rules do not require front-end screening of donations.

We all know what an Obama promise means.

Fully one third of Obama’s money came from anonymous sources. ONE THIRD. About $250 million.

The money came from all over the place- from many foreign countries and bizarre individuals.

Gaza was not alone. The contributions came from over 50 nations. And many seemed intent on skirting campaign finance laws: Obama’s foreign contributors were making multiple small donations, ostensibly in their own names, over a period of a few days, some under maximum donation allowances — but others were aggregating in excess of the maximums when their contributions were all added up. Other donations came in from donors with names such as “Hbkjb,” “jkbkj,” and “Doodad.” Also, thousands of Obama’s foreign donations ended in cents. This was evidence of foreign contributors sending in donations in foreign currencies that exchanged into odd amounts. Americans living overseas would almost uniformly be able to contribute dollars, in set amounts.

The Obama campaign received a substantial amount of money from countries that have an interest in seeing a weak American President: $366,708.22 from China; $25,259.00 from the United Arab Emirates; $7,062.60 from Russia; and $6,716.28 from Saudi Arabia. Obama also took in $6,350.00 from Indonesia; $5,000.00 from Kenya; and $1,750.00 from Egypt.

The FEC alleges that Obama also illegally took donations from Tamil Tiger leaders. The Tamil Tigers are, according to the FBI, the most successful terrorist group in the world. While the Hillary Clinton returned contributions from the Tamil Tigers, Obama kept them.

It seems to me that what Obama and the democrats are mostly interested in is preventing Republicans from doing what they have mastered.

And Obama? Well, he still won’t abide by the same rules he insists others follow.

Pres. Obama’s re-election campaign won’t be disclosing how much money is taken in at the individual fundraising events attended by Pres. Obama. Neither will the Democratic National Committee.

An official says it’s the same policy by which the Obama Campaign operated in the 2008 election cycle.

Fundraising numbers have to be filed with the Federal Election Commission, but often not until weeks later – and the FEC documents don’t itemize amounts raised at specific fundraising events.

It’s loathsome. Obama and his democrats give hypocrisy a bad name.

Although Obama said that he would take public funding, if his opponent did, he refused to do so for reasons other than being limited to a certain amount of money. Any candidate, who accepts public funding, will have all those donations examined by the FEC. Obama knew that by not taking public funding, he was not held to the same standards of scrutiny of donors. And he wasn’t.

Now, he is going to make sure that any company that holds a federal contract, no matter how small, will also be required to report the donations of its employees, no matter how small. To think that this information will not be used in awarding federal contracts, one has to be smoking something very illegal in most states. What it is intended to do is make sure that Joe Blow, who works for XYZ Paper Towel company that holds a small government contract, has his political donations revealed to the Chicago mafia that now holds the Oval Office.

Do you all remember when Obama let it fly how he would like to have US Veterans pay for their own healthcare?
He used, what is called in politics, a trial balloon.
Was that one ever shot down hard!

So, today, after a few hours of letting this story hang out there, what has Obama pulled?
    The trial balloon game.

WH: Order on political contributions a work in progress

An executive order requiring companies competing for federal contracts to disclose their recent political donations is still a work in progress, the White House said Monday. White House press secretary Jay Carney, however, reiterated his defense of the measure, saying it demonstrates President Obama’s commitment to transparency. “A draft is just that. It could change as it goes through the process,” Carney said during his daily briefing with reporters. “The president is committed to transparency, and he believes the American people should know where their money is going.” The White House has emphasized that the final product…….

    See what he does?
He’s done it all through his two + years in office.
Finger in the air….usually it’s his middle finger.

Does this fit under ”hypocrisy,” or is there a better place for it?

    >>>>>>>>WH Fails to Release Easter Proclamation<<<<<<<<<

President Obama failed to release a statement or a proclamation recognizing the national observance of Easter Sunday, Christianity’s most sacred holiday.

By comparison, the White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and released statements in 2010 on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha.

The White House also failed to release a statement marking Good Friday.

However, they did release an eight-paragraph statement heralding Earth Day.

Likewise, the president’s weekend address mentioned neither Good Friday or Easter.

What’s funny, Greg, is that I believed that this was the real answer to any sort of campaign financing issue. Although, I opt for higher limits, but let it be completely transparent to everyone as to who is getting money from who, and who is spending money on which ads.

One wonders, …what does Obama do if ALL Federal contractors refuse to disclose that information? I think it would be hilarious if the US Chamber of Commerce, and all the members of all local and state chambers flood the White House with letters telling Obama where he can stick his Big Brother executive order.

I imagine GE, Google and some of the “blue-city” businesses will bow to his will. But I doubt seriously they can handle the contractor needs of the entire Federal government.

Talk about being forced to disclose information……
Obama’s Dept. of State is proposing a biographical passport application that goes FAR BEYOND PERSONAL!
    I mean…..were you circumcised????
Name the doctor who delivered you.
Where did your mother live 1 year before you were born….address!
List all her addresses from then til now or her death.
    List all of your addresses.
Were you baptized at or just after birth?
List every employer you have ever had (addresses, too!)
List all schools you ever went to….addresses, too.

PDF but see it to believe it.

    (Paperwork Reduction Act, my eye!)

The more I hear about Obama (even though people say he’s a nice guy, which he probably is ) as a Leader, I cannot stand the man. I turn him off when he comes on TV… Hypocrite!

He has turned into a desperate, desperate, desperate man… same with his base… [Desperate times call for desperate measures ..] and, the actions of Obama, he ‘is’ very desperate… If, he could only apply all the ‘ time’ he spends trying to [undermine] the Republicans, in a POSITIVE WAY – Perhaps he could actually “lead” our Country…. But, unfortunately this is how [small] his [thinking] actually is… and how [small] a [person] he actually is… The end justifies the means…

I get so angry when I hear about friends and people in my community facing such hard times… and our “Leader” is vacationing, golfing, sporting, sticking his nose into Libya… campaigning…

I get even more angry he sets the “TONE” for the division, viciousness, demonizing, race baiting, and language while pointing the finger for all this directly at the ‘Right’ ( Tuscon AZ, Wisconsin are biggies ]… He “never” has taken responsibility (as far as I know) for his bad policies, instead finding and Placing Blame … again, mostly at the ‘Right” …

The Left [Are not the one’s] who should be [lecturing] the Right!! The Left has more [Failed Policies] then the right ever could… They Contradict every debate / argument/ they have. And their many failed Policies are continuing to destroy America! Hypocrites! And, Yes, I am angry!

Liberalism = FAIL = Destroying America
