“Denial Is More Than A River In Egypt” Mark Twain

While our president has tried to convince us that the main threats to America are Climate Change, returning vets and home grown terrorism; he has concentrated his efforts on Green Energy and strangling our domestic oil capabilities. Americans are forced to sit idle in disbelief, counting the days until the net presidential election. In the mean time the president has gathered around him a cast of sycophants that reflect his sophomoric visions, retired Air Force General Eric Clapper is only one example of many from this irrational and irresponsible assemblage of ideologues.

The Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, is not an example of national intelligence; he either lied or he is intellectually lazy/stupid, during testimony before the House Intelligence Committee on February 10, 2011, by stating that the Muslim Brotherhood is a secular, non-violent umbrella group. This is the same Clapper who remained silent when Diane Sawyer asked his opinions on the failure of the London terror attacks and the arrest of 12 terror suspects.

Sawyer asked in a conciliatory manner with a hushed voice, that reeked of damage control efforts, after it was obvious he had no idea what she was talking about, “I am a little surprised you didn’t know about London!”

Like a whipped dog, he meekly replied, “No, I’m sorry, I didn’t.”

Displaying the typical incompetence and lack of intelligence we have come to expect from members of the Obama Regime, we are becoming immune to their amateurish pretenses and tend to shrug our shoulders as if to say, “What more can we expect from Socialist ideologues.”

However, this is either gross stupidity or a flagrant effort at insidious deception. The Muslim Brotherhood is a radical Islamic fundamentalist that promotes violence and domination of the world by an Islamic Caliphate: it is neither a secular organization or a non-violent organization. To assume that such a high level bureaucrat is this stupid is difficult; consequently, we are faced with the deliberate attempt by the Obama Administration to deceive congress and the American people. It is a sad state of affairs, when your only defense is stupidity and incompetence.

The Muslim Brotherhood is a violent Islamic Fundamentalist group that supports Osama bin Laden and al-Qada. To state otherwise indicates a disconnect with reality or a blatant falsehood for Obama’s Regime. In either case, it is grounds for termination, America deserves better than to have complete buffoons or treacherous liars in our government. Especially at a time when he could mislead American policy makers with his peculiar version of the truth; unfortunately, Obama’s amateurish handling of the Egyptian crisis is the result of having these clueless political hacks and dolts in prominent positions.

The following comments were gathered by Brian Fairchild, a former Operations Officer in the Central Intelligence Agency’s Clandestine Service with twenty years of experience operating under official and non-official cover. The comments are from Muhammad Mahdi Akef, supreme guide guide of the Muslim Brotherhood from 2004 – 2010. He states plainly his Salafi-Jihadist direction, support of Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda, and anti-American sentiment, as well as his willingness to resort to violence to promote Islam.

On January 18, 2004, he stated: “But the bombings in Palestine and Iraq are a religious obligation. This is because these two countries are occupied countries, and the occupier must be expelled in every way possible. Thus, the Muslim Brotherhood movement supports martyrdom operations in Palestine and Iraq in order to expel the Zionists and the Americans.”

On January 20, 2004, he stated: “In Israel, there should be no differentiation between a civilian and a member of the military. All are enemies of the Arab homeland and of Islam. They are occupiers and have no right to one handbreadth of the land of Palestine.”

On January 18, 2004, he stated: “We have no relations with the U.S. It is a Satan that abuses the region, lacking all morality and law.”

On December, 11, 2005, he stated: “The Muslim Brotherhood is a global movement whose members cooperate with each other throughout the world, based on the same religious worldview — the spread of Islam, until it rules the world. We are in the global arena, and we preach for Allah according to the guidelines of the Muslim Brotherhood. All the members of the Muslim Brotherhood in the international arena operate according to the written charter that states that Jihad is the only way to achieve these goals.”

In November 2008, he stated: “Tyranny requires the raising of the young people on the basis of the principles of jihad so as to create mujahidin who love to die as much as others love to live and who can perform their duty towards their God, themselves and homeland.”

Muhammad Badi, the new supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood who took over the organization from Akef in January 2010, has said the following:

On March 9, 2010, on the Brotherhood’s website IkhwanOnline: “They crucially need to understand that the improvement and change that the [Muslim] nation seeks can only be attained through jihad and sacrifice and by raising a jihadi generation that pursues death just as their enemies pursue life.”

On April 15, 2010, on the Brotherhood’s website IkhwanOnline: “We will continue to raise the banner of jihad — two swords and a Koran — as long as the Zionists raise their flag, with two blue stripes to represent their so-called state [reaching] from the Nile to the Euphrates. And the [Muslim] brotherhood will continue to view the Jews and Zionists as their first and foremost enemies.”

There are many more Quotes that Mr Fairchild has gathered, please follow the link and read them all as well as his well written and informative article; unlike Clapper, Mr Fairchild is honest and a realist.

Are we to assume this was just a phenomenal blunder and ignore the very real possibility that that former Lt Generals are not generally known for being so stupid and there exists the possibility that such attempts to deceive the American people are indicative of a covert effort to damage and undermine the United States by the Obama administration.

PHOENIX (February 10, 2011) – Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, a devout Muslim and the president and founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD) issued the following statement regarding DNI James Clapper’s assertions in front of the House Intelligence Committee that the Muslim Brotherhood is “largely secular”.

“The Muslim Brotherhood is the antithesis of a secular organization as asserted today by James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence. Clapper’s statement presents a significant concern that our primary Intelligence officer has a complete lack of understanding of an organization that presents the greatest threat to the security of the United States. The Director of Intelligence is either grossly naïve or covering up for an ideology that is in an ideological war with the United States and western society.

Skookum, In this case I can assure You that Clapper was not just “playing dumb”. He didn’t Fool Diane Sawyer.

A LOT of Folks get promoted to Star or Flag Rank in the Military. Wesley Clark is a prime example of that.
So was Adm Boorda that was caught wearing Honors that He did not Earn. He put a gun to his head as a Board of Inquiry was going to be convened on that.

Kinda like being awarded a Nobel Prize that was not earned. Or making sure that Your Long form Birth Certificate or College Transcripts or even Passport Records are locked up. Or having published two “Auto Biographies” before running for the Presidency, perhaps the top drawer achievement in any Politicians Life.

Creating a marketable Illusion gets Votes! Living the lies soils you in the long run. Someone calls the bluff eventually.

OT, is it no wonder that Wikileaks managed to get all that material with clueless hacks like Clapper in charge of National Intelligence. Almost any semi-literate fourth grader could have found the information and background on the Muslim Brotherhood before testifying as an expert before a House Intelligence Committee. The whole scenario is so preposterous it seems too ridiculous to believe.

When Mediocrity is the Standard, Incompetence can get a passing grade!

What does that say about the Nation and what does it bode for Our Future?

I Reckon that Lowering the Bar got the desired result.

BTW, the next time My Daughter tells Me that I should run for Elected Office, I may just remind Her that despite her status as a USAFA Cadet, She may not be too old yet get her cute little mouth washed out with soap. The House Intel Committee is chock full of Folks that could not otherwise qualify for a Security Clearance. Clearances granted by Elected Office have provided rags like the NYT with bits, scraps and pieces of Classified Info to weave into too many Out of Context lead stories.

Clapper is the kinda guy that make me cringe if anyone accepts him as Credible. But He was a perfect fit for the Current Regime. Form and No Substance is the Regime’s Legacy. If the Republic survives under the Current lack of Leadership.

It was announced that the Oval Office learned of Mubarak’s exodus from office via the TV news reports. Makes you really secure in our intelligence agencies, doesn’t it? So, to be clear, the POTUS doesn’t have a pipe line into Mubarak’s office (I am sure Obama’s call went to the recorder in Cairo due to his actions) but where are the boots on the ground in Egypt?

Do we even know who prompted these protests? Nothing this large happens in a vacumn. There had to be planning, meetings, etc., and it is sad that to this day, we do not know who instigated the protests. Maybe the Obama administration doesn’t know because CNN and the NY Slimes has not informed him.

I suggest everyone study the fall of Iran and how our media wrote, in wonder, what a wonderful thing it was and how the Khoemeni would simple go back to Iran to be a classic little professor. Yeah, that worked out well, didn’t it?

The CIA is announcing it will put together a 35-person task force to help them identify where the next ”hot spots” might be.
Don’t we have contingencies for EVERY possibility?
    We used to.
Before we got stuck with a ”president” who uses the ”Situation Room” as a place for J-Lo and her date to hang out.

@Old Trooper 2: When I was a USAFA Cadet back in the day and I mouthed off, some Firstie usually told me to just “Get your chin in,squat!”…tell her that next time and see the surprise in her eyes that you know the Cadet patois

I can spit nails right now!
I just want to know when is this Administration going to get their ‘Act’ together?

Seems like they are all for imposing their ‘Government’ will, and “their” Agenda on the American People .
And, it’s not a very good ‘Agenda’. When are they going to get their heads out of the sand?

They have been putting their minds into crap like Climate Change, and Carbon Taxes, Health Care, Vacations, Golfing, Basketball, Psuedo- Stimulis, Other ways to ‘Tax” us not to mention all the entitlements the Liberals ‘want’. Do we need to focus all our Energy on this kind of stuff right now when there are much Bigger THREATS in the World?

Not to mention going around the world ‘apologizing’ to every Tom Dick and Harry. Apologize for what? Does anyone think at this very moment in time the Middle East gives one fing (pardon me) hoot about our Presidents apologizes?? About ‘bowing’ to oppressive Rulers, like a damn subservient? America is NOT Subservient!!

This whole Administration top down/bottom up has been so cavalier in their ‘Governing’ and Leadership Roles. Its truly stunning. Progressive Liberalism DOES NOT WORK – SOCIALISM does NOT WORK … This crap is bringing this country down in many many ways and it just has to stop. Now!

Lastly, the Bush Administration had it’s flaws this we can all agree. But, my gosh they at least showed American Strength and fortitude. Obama and his minions look like a bunch of clowns. They have single handedly lost the Respect for American by the rest of the world!!

God Bless America – May God Protect Israel.

El Baraday rooked suckers in with his, “I will only serve as a transitional leader,” rot.
Now he is saying he has NO INTENTION of serving.
Again, a front man for Muslim Brotherhood.
IF the military ever lets an election take place it won’t be the Google guy ot the other marginal democratic group leaders who will rise to the top spot.
    It will be Muslim Brotherhood.
I was watching as females with only little eye slits showing screamed ”allahu akbar!”
    That ain’t secular, folks.
Islam’s holy books do NOT require women to totally cover like that.
Only extremist fundamentalists of Islam do.
    Such as the Muslim Brotherhood.

Clapper’s lack of knowledge regarding the MB is not surprising given his boss’s naivete about the world in general. Obama has made the most basic mistake a person in the position of leadership can make. You always have a contrarian in your circle of advisors. Obama only has YES men surrounding him and thus he is unable to get a reality check or make contingency plans in case something goes horribly wrong. Obama as an incompetent leader chose people who only reflected his world view. You can’t have a contingency plan IF you don’t have someone on the team who is willing to stick their neck out and say unpopular things that don’t conform with groupthink.

This was predictable since it was the same reason why Obama failed so badly with the Gulf Oil Spill. The only thing that will save Obama now in this crisis is what saved him in the Gulf Oil spill, the achievements of a group of very motivated individuals NOT on Obama’s team…in this case the leadership of the Egyptian Military. So now success has been defined as a change from a dictator to a military junta. I guess that’s progress if you count increasing the number of people running the show who are not interested in the messy contentious business of running a Republic. The military by nature is NOT a Democratic institution, it follows a chain of command with little room for dissent or contrary opinion.

This puts off the bigger issue of the MB sweeping the Egyptian elections until September, just long enough for the MSM to mark their calendars to find something else to distract the US public if the MB take power. Just because it’s Democracy doesn’t make it all good. Any con artist can hoodwink a group of unsuspecting gullible people for a short period time, just long enough to grab the levers of power and then just like the Ayatollah in Iran purge the military of potential opponents.

I think there is another more interesting question and possibly quandry for Obama and that is Iran. They have shut down their internet so the locals don’t get any ideas about starting up the demonstrations again to topple the government. How will Obama behave if he gets a do-over on Iran? Will prattle platitudes? Will the Voice of America be stoking the fires of discontent????

  11. 13

Its hard to have national intelligence before you have regular intelligence.

I wonder if the Obama regime is planing on having there handouts & welfare programs get them re-elected. That’s how Woodrow Wilson got a second term. Or maybe the plan is to do enough damage in terms of aiding terrorists within the current term that there will be no need to win a second. Ether way Comments like that and the ones from Obama himself will certainly take there toll on election day, & it will be nice to see some real leadership in the white house.

    Exercise Bright Star

Bright Star is a biennial, multi-national exercise designed to strengthen military-to-military relationships and improve readiness and interoperability between U.S., Egyptian and Coalition forces.

The countries participating in this year’s Bright Star are the following: U.S., Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait, Greece, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, France, and Pakistan.

@Old Trooper 2: POTUS himself couldn’t qualify for a clearance. His lack of of cooperation and stonewalling in releasing documents itself would be enough for denial. That doesn’t even take into account his association with radical anti-American types.

  14. 16

    Old Trooper 2

I recall the process to get the Initial Clearance was a cake walk. To gain “Need to Know” as responsibilities and Promotions gathered, the same folks that vouched for me started to wonder what kind of Monkey Business I was up to as they were interviewed by Folks wearing dark suits and what was referred to as “Ice Cream Shoes” and “Neckties from Somebodies Dark Closets”. Bow ties and tasseled shoes in non-High Plains lingo. The Bank where I had a sizable Letter of Credit for buying supplies wrote me a letter asking what kind of foolishness I was up to.

SOP for Clearances above Secret got into the usual business on Credit, Character and Criminal Offenses.
From there it was more intrusive but no problems encountered. Our Lawmakers should be subject to the same scrutiny. But aren’t for some reason.

Now getting to the end of the Time in Service, I just look back and chuckle. If the Voters in Your District get Fooled, so does Uncle Sugar. Same Constitution but different Sincerity on the Oath, I reckon.

  15. 17

We can all agree that Mubarak was a tyrant in the eyes of his people and deservedly so. And people here in the West cannot begin to imagine the hardships and travails of life in a country like Egypt or for that matter any Third World country, be it Egypt, Sudan or whatever. Too many of the citizens of the U.S., even if they were to look at it, are too busy whining about their own supposed problems to even consider what’s going on around the world. So be it. That’s what class warfare and the entitlement society have done to us.

However, as we look deeper into the Egyptian situation, we can see a rather disturbing pattern emerging. Listen to the talking heads of the MSM. Listen to the President and his out of touch administration, Hell, they can’t even get their stories straight. Hillary says one thing. Clapper says another. And the President openly welcomes the very element that can and will destroy Egypt and in turn put Israel and the West in dire straits. Of course I and many others will be called alarmists, racists or Anti-Muslim bigots for pointing this out, but it has to be said.

One only has to remember the Iran situation. Yes, the Shah as far as the people of Iran were concerned was a despot. As the people rallied there, the talking heads including our good buddy “lost in space Carter” went on and on about how the Ayatollah was in fact a moderate Muslim who would bring peace and open Democracy to the country. I distinctly remember the few brave souls who had done their homework and warned of the impending disaster that was coming. As it is now, they were branded as subversive or worse. The world sat back and we all know what has transpired since then.

As the Iran situation came to a head, the morons in the press and government here in the States put out the fallacy that the people of Iran, having grown use to the Freedoms they did have and their supposed love for all thing U.S. would in fact turn their back on radical Islamic fundamentalism and continue to embrace and expand the Western ideals to which they had grown accustomed to. Well, we all know how that worked out! Typical head in the sand gobbley goop from the West and presto!, an Islamic hell was born.

While one can hope the army there can keep the order and help transition to a free government, the chances of that happening in my view are slim at best. First, let’s take a look at the army. They have always been the power in Egypt since the overthrow of King Furuk. No secret there. Will they give up power?

As there is a vacuum in leadership right now can we assume the radical movements, those that any idiot can see are the best organized will in fact take their shots at power? You can bet your ass they will. The head of the Muslim Brotherhood is a known terrorist with a deep seated hatred for Israel. As we move forward, one has to assume they along with infiltrators from other radical Muslim states will do their best to install a Radical regime in Egypt.

It took about 30 days from the overthrow of the Shah, to the Ayatollah’s homecoming and then an almost instant plunge in radical Muslim horror that is now Iran. Is this what one wants for Egypt. And what about Israel? As we have a President who seems hell bent on hastening her destruction, will we come to the aid of Israel when the crap really hits the fan? If Egypt is taken over in the end by the radicals, will Israel survive? Hell, let’s not even go into the oil situation right now or the fact the Egypt controls the Suez Canal. At least Mubarak was honor bound to a treaty and kept too it. Can one even think for one moment that any radical function will not immediately turn on Israel?

  16. 18

Not to mention Old Trooper assosiation with william ayers should have disqualified a certain someone from security clearance. I didn’t think you could clean the white house bathrooms with that rap.

Who is the president accountable to?

  17. 19

You cannot expect those who know no history to act responsibly.
The history is clear: Islam has been reformed. The reformer is Muhammad ibn-Abd-al-Wahab, an 18th century Imam who returned to the basics. His 20th century follower Qutb, after studying in the United States, established the Muslim Brotherhood in order to bring the teachings of Wahab to the masses.
    Such is documented fact.
The Universal Caliphate, and peace through universal Sharia law, is their stated mission.
    Such is also documented fact.
One should read the writings of Wahab and Qutb before shooting off one’s mouth.
We have deliberate falsification of documented historical fact here, and it is scary.
By the way, the Wahabi sect is the backbone of the current ruling class of Saudi Arabia. The first King, Saud ibn Saud, owed his position to the Wahabi imams. Using petrodollars, Wahabi schools throughout the world train suicide bombers and protestors for their work of Jihad.
And Saudi Arabia is our friend. With friends like that, who needs enemies?

  18. 20

Mathman, I think we have a citizenry that is now reading an extraordinary mount of informative material on the relevant issue and on top of that material we are provided more material that is considered outstanding by other readers through links. Thus we have the most informed citizenry in history; unfortunately, statements by our executive and legislative members along with their staffs, indicates they are comparatively ignorant on these issues.

In the future, many politicians will find that their ignorance of current events and history will no longer be overlooked; although, some districts who are lacking even a modicum of collective intellect or whose patriotism is dubious at best will ten to elect the Pelosi, Waters, Hastings and others, but they will do so without the excuse of being uninformed on the true nature of their candidate, like the last presidential election.

  19. 21

It is unfortunate for your credibility that the title of this page attributes the “Denial” quote to Mark Twain; the aphorism actually was coined some 80 years after Twain’s death by the über-Liberal Mr. (now Senator) Al Franken in his Saturday Night Live character of Stuart Smalley.

  20. 22

VERY GOOD POST and very informative, IT reminded me the BROTHERHOOD where guest at the WHITE HOUSE, with OBAMA, before the ARAB-SPRING BEGAN, he sure is connected with them,
and I think the feeling we had and still have was and is to this date, that the DEMOCRATES are freaking scare
and remain silent on many things which AMERICANS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD FROM THE BEGINNING,
    OF OBAMA first being installed in the WHITE HOUSE ;
how to not remember the extatic behavior being relay to the crowd of responding people SAME as the extremist muslims behave in their goal to conquer all the earth, how come nobody thought of making the parallele
responding to the race card call, or hate CONGRESS CALL, OR CHEAP WALLBSTREETS VILAINS

well at that times they where not uncovered like today, so the frenzy of the MEDIA GOT THE CROWD IRRATIONAL AND IT WAS A WIN FOR THE IMPOSTER, AS WE KNOW EVEN A MULE WOULD HAVE BECOME PRESIDENT. so damn to those responsible, and hope the fool of that times learned their lesson today. because they will try again to fool the good tolerant and ready to join the teleprompter crowd, for all kind of excuses, which is responding to a call on race card, or hate CONGRESS IT’S THEIR FAULT,

  21. 23

Ludwig, I am usually nice to guests on this site, butt you are either a liar or a moron. The exact quote is, “Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.” Twain was brilliant: Franken is an imbecile and a plagiarist.

  22. 24

The funniest thing about reading some of the comments here re: Mubarak is that apparently folks think something changed when he was given up (i.e. sacrificed) by the junta.

No real power has changed in any of these “Arab Spring” situations…not yet anyway. The same controlling oligarchies are in charge, the only place that has any semblance of “changing of the guard” is Yemen, otherwise the cliques have just shed some political liabilities to appease the masses.

  23. 25

Skookum, you are quite wrong to think me EITHER a liar OR a moron. I’m proud to say I am BOTH. (Also proud that I know how to spell the conjunction, “but.”)

  24. 26

Ludwig, I enjoy a joke more than the next guy. I am traveling fast and working hard, so my responses are not timely; however, if I may offer this less than sage advice: Mastering the spelling of conjunctions is a noble pursuit in life; I commend your dedication, but in time, you may find it prudent to pursue the spelling of more complex words. Mastering the English language is more of a journey than a destination, for instance, conquering conjunctions is but a simple way station on the great journey, happy trails.

  25. 27

your proud to know how to spell a conjunction but…
you are acting here like a proud jerk
go back to school and learn how to be an AMERICAN,

  26. 28

OLD TROOPER, on your 16th, that would go well in a book, with other stories,
you encountered in your life around the WORLD all these years of military life, as you mentioned before, your wish to write
a book. how is it coming
    best to you?

  27. 29

Ludwig is right. Although Franken may not have been the first to say the phrase, he was the one who popularized it. It has nothing to do with Mark Twain. Think about it guys: it doesn’t even sound like Twain. The use of the word “denial” in that sense didn’t start until long after Twain’s death. But I love the knee-jerk assault on anyone bringing facts to play.

If you want to prove Ludwig or me wrong, just find a source. Or you can just hurl insults and look like a douche.

  28. 30

it’s the format of the sentence that get results more than any words or form of conjunction,
if it is done from a learned jerk, or from a smart learned person,
the two get a complete different answer which they each deserve exactly,
which only experience and intelligence can achieve to give the smart right notification
which is sure to get the smart reply

  29. 31

    digg it out?
surely that word was borrowed somewhere for one to be track, to his origin, IT’S FOR YOU TO FIND YOUR SOURCE
and if you don’t know this answer, how can you challenge it?
and so far you or idaogie didn’t show it,

  30. 32

If you look here, you’ll see that the “Denial” quote is the only unsourced quote. Strange, no? If you guys want to say Twain said it, then find a source. It is still the case that Franken is the one that popularized the phrase, though again, I doubt he invented it. But Twain never said it.

See here for an intelligent discussion of the matter.

Given that you all eat up lies like the several that appear in the first few sentences of this post, I doubt you are really interested in truth, though. I myself couldn’t read past that.

  31. 33

you mean to tell me that you didn’t read the POST
because of the word MARK TWAIN?,
that is the most ridiculus answer I ever encountered,
at least be honest and give us your intent underneath the TWAIN ARGUMENT which is
    the least important of it,
I can tell you why I came to you and Ludwig with my objection, IT was really that I found the
way the comment was made was not important enough to be notice, to try to humiliate any AUTHOR,
and it could have been overlook, as other did politely for the sake of appreciation on an excellent informative POST,
I found it arrogant to be notice such a unimportant fact, just to show one’s importance,
and if notice it could have been prepare in a more positive way,
so it told me that you both had intents more against the subject than the TWAIN NOTE,
of course you said you didn’t read it, so you wouldn’t know the content
except maybe a couple of words which you found negative according to your thinking process,
that is my take on your comment, both of you,
surely, you cannot stay stuck on one name, and sacrifice a good reading post, to inform you and other. unless, you limit your chance of knowledge, which we find here on all the POST.WHICH APPEAL TO THE SMART CONSERVATIVES.

  32. 34

You don’t read well, do you? I said this: “Given that you all eat up lies like the several that appear in the first few sentences of this post,…”

I said nothing about seeing Mark Twain’s name in the title.

Care to try again? Except using more brain power maybe?

  33. 35

you know that your comments did not need brain power to understand,
and that answer is what I had figured out,
you are the one who believe the lies, and even refuse the opportunity
to have your brain debate with the other views which bring a different aspect
which is the truth, I see where you come from, I just wanted to be sure, you had a chance to help your judgement to balance itself, and you blew it.
no need for me to expand this exchange, you answered my question.
