Pelosi stretches the truth
From our “when you think you’ve heard it all” department:
Unemployment benefits are creating jobs faster than practically any other program, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday.
Say what?
Talking to reporters, the House speaker was defending a jobless benefits extension against those who say it gives recipients little incentive to work. By her reasoning, those checks are helping give somebody a job.
“By her reasoning….” Which is to say, absent reason.
“It injects demand into the economy,” Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. “It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.”
Pelosi said the aid has the “double benefit” of helping those who lost their jobs and acting as a “job creator” on the side.
Can you tell this is a woman who has never worked for a living?
Unemployment is a job creator?? How is that even remotely possible? The unemployed do not spend MORE than when they were employed. That diminished level of spending cannot possibly mean more jobs, unless she means the agencies who monitor the unemployed or those who print the unemployment checks. At best continued unemployment benefits means a continued level of spending, but certainly not a jobs creator. Pelosi is insane.
“It’s impossible to think of a situation where we would have a country that would say we’re not going to have unemployment benefits,” Pelosi said.
Forever, too.
And how is all this “demand into the economy” working out?
Payroll company ADP says private employers added just 13,000 jobs in June. That’s well short of the 60,000 forecast by economists polled by Thomson Reuters.
By Pelosi’s reasoning, if we all lost our jobs, the economy would be robust.
Leave it to Democrats to keep doing the same thing in hopes of getting a different result. Einstein had a name for that.
Not to worry, though. Democrats have a secret weapon. A weapon that will create jobs, fight global warming, provide alternative fuels and clean up the Gulf.
By my reasoning, anyway.

In addition to clinical practice he has done extensive research and has published widely with over 70 original articles and abstracts in the peer-reviewed literature. DrJohn is well known in his field and has lectured on every continent except for Antarctica. He has been married to the same wonderful lady for over 30 years and has three kids- two sons, both of whom are attorneys and one daughter on her way into the field of education.
DrJohn was brought up with the concept that one can do well if one is prepared to work hard but nothing in life is guaranteed.
Except for liberals being foolish.
It is apparent to the most causal observer that the longer San Fran Nan is Speaker
of the House the crazier she gets. She is another perfect example for term limits.
This is part of Keynesian theory. Not saying she’s not crazy, just saying there’s a whole lot of other people that are crazy in pretty much the same way.

Typica ass…sumption by yet another arrogant and uninformed lib/prog ass. No one here is “blogging for money”. The “founding father” of this blog happens to be a member of California law enforcement. You know, the type you probably also hate, but protects your sorry butt anyway? Then there’s a few of us that are gifted with unpaid author status. Readers, also unpaid, may submit reader posts (of which this one is…).
But, along with revealing “stupid”, we also thank you for that demonstration of “hate-filled”, Tracy. We can always count on most you lib/progs to make our job, painting you as the party of intolerance, extraordinarily easy.
Pelosi has indeed worked for living. She owns a restaraunt where she has employeed scores of illegal aliens at minmum wage without health benefits.

Real Unemployment is moving from 16% toward 18%+. Business is running scared of the Admin. and Congress. Yet, no-one is rushing the gates. Very basic common sense has evaporated.

Tracy. It always amazes me when you lefties come into a conservative blog, bitch about Fox News, then bail, like you just can’t bare to be with those that don’t think like you do. Fox News is a conservative leaning news channel that has the highest ratings of news channels on cable. You complain about that ONE station, while liberals have MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and a super majority of print.

I took a little stroll over to the kansasmediocrity site to see what Tracy had to say….
Well… here it is in a post titled “Internet Dickwad Theory”
Since all of the replies on their blog require “moderation”… oh.. let’s call it what it is… censorship, I’m certain that my little missive in response will not be published.
Perhaps he/she is simply trolling to get someone to actually visit his/her blog.
If all of his/her readers take him/her up on the admonition to “spam” the FloppingAces website, we should expect two or three visitors.
I’m digusted that someone would devalue Kansas with such an idiotic blog title, and even insulted by their idiotics there and here if such a person is a Kansasan as they do not exhibit the general well being and polite mannerisms most in this State posses. I am also perplexed as to why all rival points of view are suddenly deleted out at that sight while Tracy sits high on the “pillar” of free speech, it makes me beg the question if Tracy is even a Kansas citizen at all because they do not express the open friendliness of a Kansan (even a Topeka resident is friendlier than this behavior.)
As for the topic on hand, welfare and unemployement beneifits do not create private sector jobs so anyone who thinks they do are clearly expressing their lack of understanding of the system. I was on Unemployement from being laid off in 2009 and the bare bones payments were enough to pay medical insurance, car insurance, and spare enough money for food and emergency events for the time period. While some may argue that the jobs for the insurance company is “created” or saved by paying the bills, their worker rolls are not being expanded (most “new hires” are to replace retiring agents) and their jobs were never in risk of being terminated here as the Economy has not affected the Insurance market and banking market as it has other States so claiming “created or saved” is moronic.
I am glad I am off Unemployement payments now due to the time table is over. Is it rough? Yes. Do I need Unemployement again? No. I have reworked my personal debts and livelyhood during my period on Unemployement to conserve my personal monies till I acquire a new job. Unlike some of my co-workers, who squandered their paychecks instantly as they got them, I had created two saving accounts and created investment portfolios for hard times ahead. The only people who “need” such payments now are as those in massive ammounts of personal debt and had irresponsibly spent their payments and pervious labor incomes to the point of trouble (such as some of my co-workers who lost everything and is now homeless). These people have earned no sympathy do to their recklessness, and should be allowed to face the reality of incuring an unsastainable debt instead of being buffered at the expensive of placing a bloated tax on those businesses in the private sector barely keeping afloat fiscaly. Anyone giving sympathy to such reckless spenders are moronic and being manipulated at the emotional level for various agendas the person can’t start to fathom (some micro agendas, others macro political).
I’ve submitted replies at the mediocrity site (so aptly named as previously pointed out). But since my first comment to them in reply was not posted and I’m sure that my follow up wouldn’t be posted either, I thought I’d just cross post here.
The best way to create jobs is for Nancy to be unemployed, along with Harry, Barry and their comrades Barney, Chris D. Barbara, Diane, Henry, etc., etc., etc.
Why is it that they insist on not hearing the small business owners decry Obamacare and higher taxes when they talk about not wanting to hire more people? Economically speaking, Obama and the current dem-controlled congress are not inept, but borderline criminally negligent when discussing the current unemployment situation.
Wow, a brief few minutes at that wasteland of a site and using the term Mediocrity is being kind. If I lived in Kansas I would insist they change the name, it has to be insulting to most who live in the state.
