Obama Does Not Want The Gulf Cleaned Up [Reader Post]

incompetence

You never want a serious crisis to go to waste

I don’t think Barack Obama wants the Gulf cleaned up. He does not want the oil spill to end. He does not want the “damn hole” plugged.

There just isn’t any other possibility. I feel like we are in an alternative universe- one in which the President of the United States is at war with the American people.

While some are critical of Tony Hayward for going sailing, our feckless leader has once again hit the links.

5 times to the Gulf.

9 times to the Golf.

It is sort of reminiscent of OJ Simpson, who promised not to stop searching for his wife’s killer. Simpson has searched for that killer on nearly every golf course in the country.

Obama must also believe that the solution to the oil spill lies somewhere in the fairway.

Let’s harken back to May 14:

US President Barack Obama on Friday vowed “relentless” efforts to stop an oil leak pouring into the Gulf of Mexico, saying US won’t rest until leak stopped.

He “would not rest” until the leak was stopped.

And yet he done everything possible to obstruct the clean-up process.

He has refused to waive the Jones act and allow foreign countries to aid in the oil recovery effort.

He has not responded to Bobby Jindal’s requests to build sand berms.

Mata noted that deployment of Kevin Costner’s centrifuges were “delayed by rigorous testing requirements of BP and federal regulatory agencies,”

Oil skimming barges were shut down for inspection of life preservers and fire extinguishers.

The Coast Guard claimed that Packgen boom was inferior when in truth it was superior. Coast Guard Commandant Thad Allen said he needed all the boom material he could get while Packgen was begging for someone to call as they could make oodles of the stuff quickly.

His moratorium on drilling will bring even more harm to the Gulf.

As Mike posted- they took 60 days to decide to build more skimmers?

Oil rigs are being moved elsewhere, along with jobs.

Obama claims to want this spill stopped but takes no actions which might make it happen sooner and seems to do everything he can to obstruct progress.

He continues to pound BP even though BP has done everything the Feds have asked.

Michael Barone notes the dishonesty of the Obama adminstration regarding the reasons for the offshore drilling moratorium.

The justification offered was an Interior Department report supposedly “peer reviewed” by “experts identified by the National Academy of Engineering.” But it turned out the drafts the experts saw didn’t include any recommendation for a moratorium. Eight of the cited experts have said they oppose the moratorium as more economically devastating than the oil spill and “counterproductive” to safety.

This was blatant dishonesty by the administration, on an Orwellian scale.

Byron York also zeroes in on another blatant Obama lie:

There was one particularly striking moment in President Obama’s widely panned Oval Office speech on the Gulf oil disaster. About midway through his talk, Obama acknowledged that he had approved new offshore drilling a few weeks before the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion on April 20. But Obama said he had done so only “under the assurance that it would be absolutely safe.”

Absolutely safe? Even before the Gulf spill, few defenders of offshore drilling would go that far. And when the president announced his drilling plan, on March 31, he said it was “not a decision that I’ve made lightly” and that he and his advisers had “looked at [it] closely for more than a year.” Surely he was told of the possible risks.

As York says- who told Obama that offshore drilling could “absolutely safe”? Lies flow from Obama’s mouth like so much crude spewing from the floor of the Gulf. And Obama continuously reminds us of his flaming hypocrisy:

I will not tolerate more finger-pointing or irresponsibility. The people of the Gulf Coast need our help,” Obama said.

Under huge domestic pressure to take an active role in managing the crisis caused by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, US President Barack Obama appeared on a domestic TV news program saying he was trying to find out “whose ass to kick.” He also added that he would have fired BP’s chief executive, Tony Hayward.

Obama does not want this mess remedied. He wants it to become so big and so disastrous that no one will allow oil drilling again. He just can’t be this incompetent. He cannot be this stupid. It’s simply not possible. It has to be intentional.

BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg caused a bit of stir when he said that BP cares about the “small people.” At least they care about someone.

Unlike Obama.

@ilovebeeswarzone:

But Beezy, we have signs all over the place telling us that Obama created us a job, we had one outside of our community for a month, don’t know what happened to those workers after that, but, we had the sign. 😉

BTW, am mailing the package tomorrow. Neighbor lady that gave me the styro-foam also had a sturdy box. 😛

MISSY: I will check, and keep in touch, like the football pro. bye 🙄

OLD TROOPER: IT must be breakfeast for you, have a good one, did you walk yet? ,. IT”S goodnight for me midnight, now. bye 🙄

@drjohn: Just thought I would mention that linking to YouTube is putting more money in Google’s pockets. Google has been caught storing WiFi info around the world. This includes passwords and any other sensitive info sent over an unsecured system. I’m glad there are sight like this allowed on YouTube.

I quit using Google and YouTube when I found out that Google didn’t decorate their logo for Memorial Day and Veterans Day until the conservative blogs complained about it. Each person has the freedom to choose what to use and what not to use.

ABC is banning their people from wearing flag pins. I quit watching network news a long time ago, until Obama told me not to listen to Fox, now I listen to them all the time.

Maybe you can pass this along to other environmentally concerned folk.

This equals 1% effort 😥

There are only 20 skimmer boats off the coast of Florida
out of 2,000 available skimmer boats in the United States. ????

Skimmers ???

As the Gulf Coast shores continue to be coated with crude, the Obama Administration has only accepted assistance from 5 countries out of 28 who offered to assist the US with the cleanup.

The State Department posted this on their website.
28 countries have offered to help assist the United States with the worst environmental disaster in American history. Only 5 offers have been accepted the rest are under review.

Hat Tip-GatewayPundit

Pretty much sums it up and I hope you post it as well >>> 28 VS 5

This has the actual State Dept Charts:

More Bad Gulf News “Leaking” for Obama

http://spectator.org/blog/2010/06/22/more-bad-gulf-news-leaking-for

@MEscape: How much do you want to bet that the Obama administration is trying to get political contributions from the companies who offer help? If you don’t oil Obama’s machine, you don’t get to un-oil the gulf.

Obama continues the war on America:

Federal Gov’t Halts Sand Berm Dredging

Unfreakingbelievable.

drjohn: hi, how can they stop that, is’nt it the orders of GOVERNER JINDAl ?arent they going against his orders?. bye 🙄

Yes, Bees, it is against the wishes of Bobby Jindal.

Here- THIS will make everything better:

Salazar Renames MMS, Adding ‘Regulation and Enforcement’

How do you toughen a regulatory agency under fire for laxness and coziness with the industry it regulates? If you’re Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, you rename it.

The Mineral Management Service is no more. As of today, the agency in charge of overseeing offshore oil exploration–and the ill-fated Deepwater Horizon drilling rig–will be known as the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement. That’s the Bureau of Ocean Energy, or BOE, for short.

The name sounds a lot more muscular.

See? All better now.

What mind-boggling stupidity. Stupidity on a galactic scale.

Dredging up the Past?

There’s divided opinion about whether or not Jindal’s berms will do any good at all. There’s opinion that berms could make matters even worse by forcing oil up the Mississippi River. Berming was allowed to proceed in spite of those uncertainties. That doesn’t mean additional environmental damage should be done in the process. Sand can be taken from a less vulnerable location. Maybe they should do that rather than wasting time on political posturing.

It will be interesting to see what’s said if Jindal’s berms predictably wash away with the first storm of the season, or if they push oil damage up through the entire Mississippi delta.

@greg

“There’s divided opinion about whether or not Jindal’s berms will do any good at all.”

There is no divided opinion doing nothing will makes things far worse for decades!!!!!!!!

Oil up theMississippi River is a hogwash argument.

When the Mississippi River is flowing normally (without extra flood waters) it moves 1.6 million gallons of water every second

That would be south into the gulf.

Skimmers –Berms —buckets.,…….

It might be worth noting that there don’t seem to be any experts who have agreed that berming is a good idea. No one even seems to know who worked up the details of the plan, or what sort of analysis has been made of the likely consequences. All that’s known with certainty is that the project will divert enormous amounts of money away from other approaches to controlling damages.

Here’s an article about it written by a guy who actually is an expert in the field–Dr. Rob Young, professor of coastal ecology at Western Carolina University and director of the Program for the Study of Developed Shorelines:

http://e360.yale.edu/content/feature.msp?id=2282

GREG: THE GOVERNER JINDAL is living there and can tell what he see now, and what is not right better than any government fool pretending to be experts; SO instead of not doing anything and now take away what he is trying to save on his shore land and MARSHEs, which are very fragile; they make laws to show him a REPUBLICAN GOVERNER RESIDENT and showing to be very RESPONSIBLE to his peoples needs from HIS STATE, WHERE HE WAS LEGIMITLY ELECTED,again OBAMA show him they are the boss, and distrust the decisions he has made, instead of asking him for his opinion and assure him for their support all the way, like the PRESIDENT BUSH WOULD GRACIOUSLY DO. 🙄

AND about your link,GREG, they can say many words, but it’s so far the only real action sugjested by GOVERNER JINDALL and in process now; SO as you have not find anything better and you all thinking of it and oOBAMA receive 20billions, to continue the job is the best way to procede. and KEVIN COSTNER CAN start now to filter the oil, if once is not enough well do it twice, but do it now,

Action, Greg, is the first thing you need as a leader. Experience helps you to make the correct decision on which action to take. Surrounding yourself with COMPETENT people who make wise recommendations on which actions to take help you in being a good, even great leader.

Action, Experience and competent advisors.

No action by Obama except for talking about whose ass to kick, and stopping actions of others to stop or cleanup the spill.

No experience in making hard decisions, tended to vote present when a junior state senator and still does so, even as president

Not one competent advisor in his staff at all. This is apparent on an everyday basis by all the missteps in his cabinet.

LA has a leader, who is doing something, and Obama’s admin is doing everything they can to stop the governors own actions and decisions.

Is Obama incompetent? Or is he criminally negligent?

@drjohn: What an amazing accomplishment that will help clean up the….

Wait a minute. How does this help with the Gulf cleanup? At least they finally accomplished something.

“I mean geez- making Costner go through “exhaustive” and “rigorous” tests with a machine to clean the water…”

They do carry a price tag of half-a-million bucks each, so a test drive might have been in order. Otherwise Obama probably would have been accused of buying junk vacuum cleaners from a door-to-door Hollywood huckster, whose only practical experience had to do with the movie Waterworld.

The low-end estimate for Governor Jindal’s untested and unanalyzed berming project is $360 million, which would buy 720 of Mr. Costner’s useful devices. Apparently they would be very good things to have handy on a shelf when needed.

Greg: Otherwise Obama probably would have been accused of buying junk vacuum cleaners from a door-to-door Hollywood huckster, whose only practical experience had to do with the movie Waterworld.

Wrong on all counts. You’re really batting a thousand at losing assumptions lately, guy. BP is the one who tested the CINC centrifugres, not “Obama” or the USCG, or the EPA. It was, however, feds who kept this machine from being used in prior incidents because they said it couldn’t be approved until tested in real life conditions. But then, you couldn’t test it in real life conditions without their approval… Typical politico-double speak.

BP and CINC, which is Costner and his brother… da guy with the engineering degree… modified the centrifuge so that it would handle all the different grades of the weathering oil (it starts turning into asphalt, ya know). With the mods, it worked, so BP… not Obama… ordered the machines. Still no word on whether the EPA will turn it’s head to the 1% of oil (or 1.28 oz per every gallon processed) in the discharged water. EPA demands 15ppm. Costner would like them to be a permanent part of every seagoing vessel, as it affords the ability for clean up for their constant accidents…. assuming they didn’t purge their tanks on purpose, as many of the supertankers do while at sea.

They’ve had this for 17 years, and Costner has been quite busy and involved with the evolving product. I already did a post on the evolution of the centrifuges after their purchase of an Idaho DOE patent. Looks like you ought to be doing more reading in the archives, and less commenting, dude.

My jury is out on the Jindal berm theory. While it seems practical (if not economically feasible for an unproven result) at a superficial glance, I know these sandbars can do much to rearrange and redirect currents. I did, after all, spend my youth camping, skiing and diving around the Florida sand bars on the Gulf coast. It is my understanding that they – da feds – halted the dredging as well in the past 24 hours.

MATA i just heard; BP removed the FUNNEL was used to pump theoil cause it was crack by some hit, and in another instance, 2 persons died around thoses operations. bye

Bees, one of the ROVs (remote cameras) hit the cap and tipped it askew. They had to remove the cap to assess the damage because it affected pressure, etal. Now they are making sure that the methane hydrates didn’t ice over the tube rise sending down the heat to prevent that. And I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to find out that the methane hydrates was the cause for the blow out itself. At that depth, it takes about 10 minutes for the crystals to appear, making cementing a tricky task. We’ll know more because the Brazlian Petrobras latest discovery is down over 6000 ft, and they’re going for it.

Didn’t hear about the deaths. An accident on one of the ships attending the rig area? Haven’t had time to look between work, and finally a “summer” day to take care of some outdoor chores. Got a link to a story on that?

MATA: in french acadien news, they said it and I ran here to translate it for you; chores outsides I am invaded bye the most abundants and beautifull roses now in their peak season, thoses are rustick and I planted them 12 years ago, now they are 8 feets high, all in my kennel surounded with 8feets fence with rasberrys 10feet high and other trees i plant too,it’s my jungle where i just have to open the door to let the dogs out. so finally i dont have to much gardening to do, bye

Susiepuma, Diamond Girl, Nancy-
It’s refreshing to know that we have home grown investigative journalists…since none of our media has the guts to uphold their journalistic ethics…they sold themselves out.
More dots to connect: Halliburton, involved in the cementing process run by (Cheney/NWO believer) bought Boots and Coots one week before the Horizon explosion. Boots and Coots
is the the world’s second largest oilfield services corp. that was
responsible for putting out one half of more than 700 oil well fires in Kuwait during the Gulf War.
Goldman Sachs, Fabrice Tourre, bragged to a girlfriend that he was taking a B.P. “short position”
shortly before the disaster. Now it has been uncovered at http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/
bombshell-expose-the-reason BP oil spill, that the dispersants that are being used are manufactured by NALCO. NALCO is associated with the U. of Chicago Argonne program, which
received $164 Mil dollars in stimulus funds this past year. NALCO is associated with supporters,
George Soros, Al Gore, Warren Buffet, Maurice Strong..etc. The dispersant they are using is corexit 4500, which has been banned in Europe. Look like these guys are going to make a bundle off of this disaster. Especially George Soros with his investments in Petrobras!
Our country has been hijacked by these thugs. The corruption and criminal negligence
is so blatant…why can’t we reign them in?!
Good luck getting money from B.P… Queen Elizabeth and Queen Beatrice, two of the wealthiest
women in the world, own controlling interest in the company! (They are also NWO players.)

RALLY’ROUND THE FLAG: and they are right too, a few months ago i check at google, the word BIlDENBERG, and her name was in the group meeting in some castlethere where a JOHNES and geitner and other big names of USA,but i did not see QUEEN ELISABETH’s name, bye

BILLY NUNGESSER is angry at OBAMA for shutting their operation, and it seems like the STATES of LOUISIANA will fight the government on their own mistakes and inability to respond before too late. Obama and his crew, wil find some resistance and better get out of their effort to do what they can instead of having to wait for uncompetant government decisions and SALAZAR’s paperworks,

Time for the gulf states to tell the feds to go pound sand and take it upon themselves to handle the cleanup. All the oil firms other than BP should take the same position and keep on drilling. Time to push back and bring this situation to a head. We The People need to be pushing for Obama’s immediate impeachment for what he is doing to this country.

Ilovebeeswarzone- At the most recent Bilderberg meeting in Sitges, Spain this month, some of the attendees were:David Cameron, Britain’s new Prime Minister, Tony Blair, Queen Beatrix,
of Holland, (of Royal Dutch Shell, which bought out B.P.), Morgan Stanley, Chase Mahattan Bank,
(David Rockefeller, Trilateralist Commission founder,) Siemens AG, Microsoft Corp., European Bank President, Jean-Laude Trichet, Bill Clinton, etc. the security was tight as usual, no pictures
either. There were 20-30 police vans waiting to swoop away any protesters that created any
problems.
“ALL WE NEED IS THE RIGHT MAJOR CRISIS AND THE NATIONS WILL ACCEPT THE NEW WORLD
ORDER” (David Rockefeller)
“TYRANTS ALWAYS USE CRISISES TO GRAB MORE POWER” (“A Brief History of Tyranny.”)
This sounds like the Cloward /Piven Stragegy, taught by a professor from Columbia University.

Minuteman26-
I’ve always believed ACTIONS speak louder than words. The more troublesome problem is that
look who is next in line, if this POTHUS is impeached? Biden and Pelosi…just as frightening!!!
(Pelosi definitely is a NWO person; not sure about Biden.) I certainly hope the Governors of
the affected states rise up and protect their land from the spill. This incident certainly
makes our GREAT country look inept, incompetant and weak.

THE other STATES should cease this tragedy to stick together and support the LOUISIANA STATE and THE ARIZONA STATE,because they cant’s say nothing will ever happen to them where they could need their neighbords’s support.

@ilovebeeswarzone: Google is known to edit their search content for subjects they don’t want people to go to. Sometimes you might get a warning that the web sight you want to go to could harm your computer. This is there way of getting you not to go to some web sights they don’t want you to go to. Those are the ones you should go to. I don’t use Google any more.

There is a FREE program from McAfee called Sight Advisor. It checks millions of sights regularly and warns you if a sight you go to is dangerous. I have been warned several times of sights that are known to have viruses or other harmful stuff.

The program works on Google and Ask, but not on Safari, Firefox, Answers, or Bing.

You can download the free Sight Advisor at http://www.siteadvisor.com/securesearch/

SMORGASBORD: hi, thank you for info; IT just happen a couple of week ago a dark orange warning from a link from one poster, that was my first encounter with a 3rd kind, and i freak up, not knowing what; but i got out fast. bye 🙄

@ilovebeeswarzone: If the warning said something about the web sight could be harmful to your computer but didn’t say it is a known dangerous sight, that is a web sight that Google doesn’t want you to see. Download the free Sight Advisor if you use Google and it will tell you if it is a dangerous sight.

In retrospect, I think it’s not so much Obama does NOT want to stop it, or prevent a catastrophe (which he now has) But I do not think “HE has a CLUE what to do”!! He has (we TOLD YOU SO!) no leadership experience at all…. and now he needs to lead!! And he’s crumbling like a potato chip!!! He’s the Prez, he could cut thru the “red tape” and direct any and all things to be done, PRONTO!! But to do that, you never leadership, AND decision making skills…. “Speech making” skills are all but useless once you have been sworn in….. and you have a PROBLEM to deal with! Then leadership/MAN UP skills become paramount… and unfortunately as anyone with a brain can see now…. HE AIN’T GOT IT!!! Wonderful…. the Skipper doesn’t know HOW TO SAIL the boat!! Now what…….

Google warnings that a website could be “harmful your computer” are often based on a Google indexing spider having noted some fault in a website’s condition that could easily be exploited by hackers. If a protected folder on the host server has been accidently left unlocked by the website owner, for example, a hacker might easily slip in code that downloads malicious programs on the sly when innocent visitors happen by. Hackers have their own spiders out prowling the web looking for such weaknesses to exploit.

I found this out by having one of my own websites hacked. It happened because I’d accidentally left a hidden folder unlocked. I noticed one of those warnings when I did a Google search to see where my site came up on the search list. When I clicked on the link I got bit by my own website and spent the next 3 hours removing a trojan virus from my own computer. Needless to say I cleaned up and locked the hacked folder on my hosts server promptly, but I still got angry emails from a couple of site visitors.

Let me know if anyone is getting any kind of warnings about the site still. Having my server guy look into it.

GREG: thank you, it’s something good to know. bye 🙄

@Greg:  I admit to not knowing much about computers. The more I find out about this stuff the happier I am that I have a Mac computer and don’t have to worry about most of that stuff.

Halliburton

On April 1, a job log written by a Halliburton employee, Marvin Volek, warns that BP’s use of cement “was against our best practices.”

An April 18 internal Halliburton memorandum indicates that Halliburton again warned BP about its practices, this time saying that a “severe” gas flow problem would occur if the casings were not centered more carefully.

Around that same time, a BP document shows, company officials chose a type of casing with a greater risk of collapsing.

Despite noticing cementing problems, BP skipped a quality test of the cement around the pipe. Federal regulators also gave the rig a pass at several critical moments. After the rig encountered several problems, including the gas kicks and the pipe stuck in the well, the regulators did not demand a halt to the operation. Instead, they gave permission for a delay in a safety test of the blowout preventer.
