Rep. Darrell Issa, the conservative firebrand whose specialty is lobbing corruption allegations at the Obama White House, is making plans to hire dozens of subpoena-wielding investigators if Republicans win the House this fall
~~~Issa has told Republican leadership that if he becomes chairman, he wants to roughly double his staff from 40 to between 70 and 80. And he is not subtle about what that means for President Barack Obama.
At a recent speech to Pennsylvania Republicans here, he boasted about what would happen if the GOP wins 39 seats, and he gets the power to subpoena.
“That will make all the difference in the world,” he told 400 applauding party members during a dinner at the chocolate-themed Hershey Lodge. “I won’t use it to have corporate America live in fear that we’re going to subpoena everything. I will use it to get the very information that today the White House is either shredding or not producing.”
We most definitely need someone like Issa as Chairman. Couple questions tho. First will they have the fortitude to place him there when or if we take the House? Second, if does make it there is this a good idea….meaning will it make Obama a sympathetic figure like it did Bill Clinton?

From Politico: In other words, Issa wants to be to the Obama administration what Rep. Dan Burton (R-Ind.) was to the Clinton administration — a subpoena machine in search of White House scandals.
Even if Republicans don’t take the House, Issa has other ambitions. Those close to him say he is eyeing a potential run for a leadership post, even though he’s a two-time loser for Republican policy chairman.
Issa also is trying to build his national brand, traveling to Pennsylvania for a summer Republican meeting. He basked in praise for his role in creating “Job-gate,” a mini scandal that forced the White House to admit that former President Bill Clinton tried to coax Rep. Joe Sestak out of the Democratic Senate primary in Pennsylvania by offering him an unpaid job.
After calling the White House “corrupt” and Obama’s presidency “failed,” Issa reiterated his claims that — despite a contrary assessment from most experts — the administration violated federal law with the Sestak imbroglio.
He also mentioned e-mail from White House deputy chief of staff Jim Messina to Colorado U.S. Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff about three possible administration jobs as the administration apparently tried to steer him away from a primary challenge against Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet.

If he does the investigations, he better come up with more than Lewinski type scandals or like you mentioned, Obama will become a poster child for sympathy and we will be hustling backwards.
I personally think there is more than enough to investigate; but we need substantial wrongdoing of the felony persuasion. Clinton managed to lie about an indiscretion; unfortunately for him, he was under oath: hence, the confusion among the cerebrally challenged of the US, reinforced by the media, that he was impeached for sexual indiscretions rather than perjury; perjury being a rather serious felony for the rest of us and a mere inconvenience for a Clinton.
Obama is the best reason to establish what I call the “Political Crimes Tribunal.” It would be just like the “War Crimes Tribunal,” but it would only go after politicians who used their office for illegal purposes. Like the War Crimes Tribunal, there would not be any statue of limitations and it would be made up of non-politicians only.
How suddenly they forget, why go back so far? Instead of what Burton was to Clinton, how about what Waxman and other democrat committee chairs in both houses were to Bush? They were so busy with investigations, they couldn’t get budgets passed. It was way beyond the pale, I suggest whenever a new troll strolls in here with that talking point, we re-direct! 👿

What I want to know is his grades at Harvard, Columbia, etc. – was Obama really the genius the libs made him out to be or was he dumber than George W Bush? Libs made similar claims for both Al Gore and John Kerry but then the grades said otherwise.
dscott -The man can barely construct a full, coherent sentence when speaking off the cuff. I believe he relies so much on the teleprompter because he isn’t speaking from any internalized ideas or convictions, it’s all made up by however many speech writers he has for any given occasion. And, yes, I’d love to know about his and Michelle’s law licenses.
@Light Dawns: Do you remember when Obama went blank when his TOTUS quit working a time or two, and when he was reading someone else’s speech and he didn’t know it? This tells me he might not even read the speech before it is loaded in the TOTUS. This could also be why he has no emotion when he speaks. He doesn’t know when to emphasize a statement.
When Obama, Pelosi, and the other liberals talk without their TOTUS they do one of two things:
(1) Babble on without saying anything.
(2) Tell the truth.
Remember, “I think spreading the wealth is a good thing,” and “We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it?”
Lots of luck finding charges, because there never were any. He voluntarily retired from the practice of law in the State of Illinois. That’s what a lawyer does in Illinois when it’s no longer his or her intention to remain active in the profession. It’s a perfectly routine thing to do.

If you want to look into something that’s interesting and not routine, you might check out Darrell Issa’s 1972 indictment for felony car theft, his 1972 Michigan conviction for a firearm violation, his 1979 involvment in the faked theft of his own Mercedes Benz, and his status as prime suspect in the 1982 arson of his own manufacturing plant.

Greg, Media Matters and their affiliates lie blatantly often, and your links show –nothing. He had an unregistered gun. Terrible crime in some states. I have some myself, war souvenirs and old family arms. The gun on the table story is bizarre and I don’t believe it, period. The arson pertains to his having increased his insurance. Everyone who owns a torched business is suspect, often with good cause, but he was not charged and I conclude the insurance investigators turned up nothing, much as they would have liked to. Etc. Your sources read like suggestive tabloid material, not something with real meat. And compared to the numbing level of corruption, the tax dodging alone, of the current administration, it is–nothing. Compared to the fleshly excesses of the sainted Kennedys it is –still nothing. We can be sure if there is Something the Dems will be all over it soon enough. And if your heart was in the right place you would be rejoicing that anyone at all would be ready to take on this monstrosity in Washington; your willingness to dismiss Issa based on these events of 20- 30 years ago goes against your own credibility too.

Looking back at Issa’s indiscretions I see my math is bad; change that to 30-40 years ago. Who gives a rip — how old was he then? If Attila the Hun could get 0 out of office I’d help him try.
@Patter: As far as I’m concerned, Issa absolved himself supporting English as the official language of the USA and support of Prop 187; he’s strong against illegal immigration and if he can impeach Obama, I will be eternally grateful. There’s so much out there against Barry. How much does it take to impeach a President who refuses to do the basic…secure the borders? He speaks well without a TOTUS too! Imagine that in a “leader”.

I’m neutral on Snopes. I don’t use them and only know them by what others say about them. I received an email today that said Snopes says Kagan didn’t represent Obama to the Supreme Court in his law suits about his citizenship, but she represented him in every one of them. None of them made it to the Supreme Court. That is why Obama owed her big time and nominated her for the Supreme Court. She will now be one of the judges to decide his citizenship when one or more of the law suits makes it to the Supreme Court. If she doesn’t exempt herself from them, then we will know ahead of time that she has already decided to vote in his favor before hearing the cases.
Smorgasbord, please translate. You say first that Kagan represented Obama in “every one of” his lawsuits INRE citizens to the Supreme Court, but none of them “made it to the Supreme Court”. huh? She did, or did not represent him… and it was, or was not, on the SCOTUS docket (the latter we all know is fact). But your sentence makes no sense to me. Additionally, the two more prominent lawsuits for birthers was filed by Philip Berg and Alan Keyes. If you look at their case briefs, Elena Kagan is no part of Obama’s defense team. So where are you getting your information?
If you’re going solely on the WND article, now scrubbed scrubbed from the site, according to Snopes then the generic search of Kagan/Obama in the files notes that none of the cases cited by WND had anything to do with Obama’s birth certificate. This is evidenced by WND’s own retraction and editor’s note on the original article:
Additionally, if you’ve used search engines but don’t know how to use boolean code to narrow your search, you’ll get tons of crap that isn’t applicable…. which I suspect was the folly of the original WND article. Poor research always ends up in piss poor fodder. And it usually follows that the more inadequate the research, the faster it goes viral.
I’m going to request that you post just what lawsuits you propose Kagan represented Obama INRE his citizenship (at least the principles). From there I can research the specific case files and find what needs doing.
If you can’t do that, I’m going to just have to assume you’re blindly following the viral butt sniffers here. Because with all the vetting of Kagan that bloggers and media did during the nomination period, and the “lack of” judicial experience bubbling to the surface during that time, this all sniffs of BS to me. Were there such cases on file, they would have been uncovered at that time by far more thorough people than those at WND.
There is ample excrement on the fan against Obama without having to make stuff up, ya know. Would prefer it’s confined to the verifiable news, and not some yellow journalism rumour here.
I refuse to have a dialogue with anyone who questions President Obama’s citizenship. Just pointless and a waste of my time….! Plus, no “birther” case will ever make it to the US Supreme Court.

I am one who likes to check things out that are new to me. I used to be one who could be told anything and would believe it. I got where I would question anything I was told because some were telling me things just to see if I would believe them.
I refer to myself as a “neutralist” because I don’t believe stuff just because someone tells me or I read it some place, even people I trust. We all have talked about things we find out were wrong.
When I started hearing about the questions about Obama’s citizenship I figured it could be one of those political tricks politicians like to use to cause doubt about a politician so the other party will win the next election. Then I started reading stuff that started me wondering if it could be true, some of it from FA.
**Most of it I figured could be true or it could be false. Some of the stuff started to make me really question his citizenship. Some of them are:
(1) At the time Obama was born anyone could walk into the office in Hawaii and say they wanted a LIVE BIRTH certificate and they would get one. They didn’t have to prove they were actually born there. Even if a person has one from that time it doesn’t mean they were born there.
(2) No hospital claims him as being born in their hospital. No city claims him as being born in their city.
(3) Obama is using a Social Security card issued in Connecticut. It is one of a block of numbers that were reserved for FOREIGN students. Obama has not denied this.
(4) Obama has used several SS cards in his lifetime. He has not denied this.
(5) Fox News interviewed 400 Columbia University students who attended the same year as he did and none of them remember him, not even the ones who were in the same political science, pre-law class that he said he was in. His picture is not in the year book. Keep in mind that Fox News is the network Obama told us not to listen to. This is one reason why.
(6) His timeline of events and where he lived at certain times doesn’t match with facts that prove he was certain places at certain times.

I don’t belong to any political party, so I don’t care which party is in office. I just want the right PERSON in each Federal office that should be there. I also agree with the ones who say to throw them all out and start over.
As long as the democrats control the justice system I agree that no case will make it to the Supreme Court, just like the two Black Panthers who were intimidating white voters at one of the Philadelphia voting buildings had their case dropped. If you have seen the video and don’t think they were trying to scare white people away, then there is no hope for you.
