Waxman Drops The Bomb, We Cant Afford Obama’s Healthcare [Reader Post]

hereCharismatic Charmer, Henry Waxman & Obama,  “America’s Turd In The Punchbowl”, is getting steamed

On Friday, Congressman Henry Waxman D CA, Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Finance, was on the floor pleading with Democrat Congressional members they need to push for an immediate 22.9 Billion Dollar ‘Fix’ for Medicare to cover doctor’s fees.

The Bill that was supposed to lower the cost of Health Care has now shown itself to have costs that are spiraling out of control: Barack assured the nation upon signing the Health Care Bill,

“This legislation will lower costs for families and for businesses and for the federal government, reducing our deficit by over $1 trillion in the next two decades,”.

In just two months, Waxman has discovered this new need for a 102 billion in federal spending that would increase the national debt by 54 billion over the next ten years, 25 billion going out to cover costs for the next few months of the fiscal year.

According to Waxman:

“It’s absolutely critical to do this if we are going to keep doctors in Medicare and keep the promise to Medicare beneficiaries that they will have access to physicians’ services,  This provision will provide a moderate increase in physicians’ fees, 2.2 percent for the rest of the year. If we don’t act, doctors’ fees will be cut by 21 percent from where they are today. This would be unconscionable.”

In his ‘sudden’ desire for truth and solvency, Waxman pleaded with colleagues:

to vote for a bill that includes $102 billion in new federal spending and would add $54 billion to the national debt over the next 10 years — $25 billion of it in the few months remaining in this fiscal year.

According to President Obama, July 20, 2009, in Washington, DC, after a health care round-table with physicians, nurses, and health care providers.

“The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system.”

In Portsmouth, NH, our erudite President and former guest lecturer/community organizer, gave us insight into his business acumen while he tried to explain the advantages of government-run health care.

“UPS and FedEx are doing just fine, right? It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.”

On Wednesday, Nancy Pelosi, received a letter from a coalition of physicians representing 12 national surgeons’ associations—including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery with the following warning.

“These continued payment cuts, rising practice costs and a lack of certainty going forward, make it difficult, if not impossible, for already financially challenged surgical practices to continue to treat Medicare patients,”

The letter pointed the speaker toward the results of a survey of more than 13,000 physicians done in February by the Surgical Coalition, a group of more than 20 medical associations. The survey asked these doctors what they would do if Medicare fees were slashed by the scheduled 21.2 percent.

Twenty-nine percent said they would opt out of the Medicare system entirely. Almost 69 percent said they would limit the number of appointments they would take from Medicare patients, 45.8 percent said they would start referring complex Medicare patients to other physicians, 45.3 percent said they would stop providing certain services, 43.8 percent said they would defer purchasing new medical equipment and 42.7 percent said they would cut their staff. Almost 4 percent of the doctors said they would close or sell their practices.

Why did congress enact the health-care bill under the assumption that they would slash doctors’ fees? It is an ongoing scam, congress assumes the cut to doctors’ fees will be prevented at some point in the future with an emergency fix; therefore, the long term deficits resulting from their spending appears to be smaller.

As originally proposed, Obamacare would have ended this practice, permanently setting Medicare reimbursement rates for doctors at the true anticipated level. But the Congressional Budget Office determined that doing so would have added $208 billion to the cost of Obamacare over 10 years, forcing the CBO to declare that Obamacare added to the deficit rather than reduced it. That would have cost Obamacare votes on the House floor and quite possibly defeated the legislation.

Thus through Congressional misrepresentation or possibly fraud, Obama’s Health Care or the nationalization of one sixth of our economy was more assured of passage.

In typical bungling fashion, Waxman, a main architect of the Health care Bill found the Senate had left for the Memorial Day weekend.

Even then, the fix only accounts for $22.9 billion of the $102 billion cost of the bill the House did pass on Friday. Most of the rest of the money is for extending unemployment benefits and special targeted tax breaks.

The $22.9 billion fix for the doctors’ fees—if passed by the Senate—would only last through September 2011. Then Congress will presumably do it all again—or let the Medicare system collapse.

In the meantime, Obamacare is supposed to cut half a trillion in spending from elsewhere in Medicare, while Obama’s budget—not counting the $54 billion in new debt included in this bill—is expected to add $9.8 trillion to the national debt over the next 10 years.

In the mean time, Kathleen Sebelius has mailed out a propaganda brochure to millions of seniors with multiple false claims concerning Obama Care.  So blatant are the misrepresentations that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and seven of his GOP colleagues have written a letter to Sebelius demanding an explanation of the falsehoods contained in the brochure titled,

“Medicare and the new health care law — What it means for you,” published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

This is the sprawling center for implementation and management of Obama Care.  Therefore the brochure was printed by government employees with tax money.

How does the brochure misrepresent the facts about Obamacare? First, the brochure claims that under the new law, “the guaranteed Medicare benefits you currently receive will remain the same.” But the CMS’ own experts said in a report earlier this year that the new law’s cuts in Medicare spending may push as many as 15 percent of hospitals and other institutional providers into the red, “possibly jeopardizing access” to needed care for millions of seniors. There is no way that current Medicare benefits will remain the same if one of every seven medical providers is no longer profitable.

Second, the brochure claims Obamacare includes “improvements to Medicare Advantage,” but says nothing about the fact that the new law includes at least $130 billion in spending cuts for that program. Only in Obamaworld does a $130 billion spending cut in a program for millions of seniors qualify as an “improvement.”

McConnell noted in an angry floor speech last week about the CCS brochure that “the flier purports to inform seniors about what the health care bill would mean for them. Much of it directly contradicts what the administration’s own experts have said about the law. And all this is bought and paid for by the American taxpayer. So this is a complete outrage, and it’s precisely the kind of thing Americans are so angry about at the moment.”

Sebelious is employing the now familiar stalling tactic of the Obama Administration; waiting and hoping the problem will dissipate or go away or be replaced with a more interesting scandal.

I’m glad I’m basically healthy. 😉 I think the Dems thought it was ok to cut doctor payments because doctors are rich, you know? Another way they can carry their social load, provide services at a loss. It’s another stereotype leading to fuzzy analysis. And another thing, maybe commies don’t value medical arts so much. In the late USSR there was a high doctor:patient ratio, and they were not so highly paid or respected.

So when was anyone supposed to believe ANYTHING Obama ever said or says? When?

Obama-Speak, the fusion of sophistry and Newspeak. Some think it’s a gift, most know it for what it is, he just lies.

Doesn’t Waxman look like a pig? Oh, wait, that’s right, he is a pig.

I recently received two letters from the dumb broad. One is another ponzi scheme that will provide the criminals in congress with a large slush fund that will make other ponzi scheme’s look like dime bingo game. And they put others. Madoff anyone, in prison for stealing a penny for each billion dollars congress critters and O’Dumbo’s regime are stealing.

Nice job, Skooks.

Unfortunately, the only “fix” in Waxpig’s mind is more taxes on the producers, not a cancellation of the bill.

Well, I haven’t received the brochure from Sebelious, but I just got a brochure from something entitled, Funeral Advantage Program Assists Seniors. They will pay my family $20,000 tax free for my funeral but I have to respond within 15 days to find out what this other scam is about, just love going to the mailbox. 🙄

This weekend we noticed that the nearest hospital that was 13 miles away in the area we planned to retire to is now closed, so we would have to decide, 35 miles or 45 miles to the two hospitals left in the area. But, they still have two vet clinics operating in that town, Obama hasn’t stuck his nose into animal care….yet.

We have been dreaming of retiring to our farm since 1985 and now I doubt it will become a reality for us because the healthcare system is becoming so mucked up. We will probably be forced to stay in this metropolitan area just to be able to get to a hospital in close proximity should the need arise, don’t know about anyone else, but at our age that concerns us. Hopefully we won’t expire in the waiting room as we have also recently found out, because of Obamacare, emergency rooms will be more overwhelmed than before, maybe 35 or 45 miles away might work out.

Those paying attention knew Obamacare was a waiting fiasco, we also know that those paying attention are a vast majority, a majority being slapped in the face and I hope they remember in November.

Henry Arnold Waxman (born September 12, 1939) is an American politician. He has represented California’s 30th congressional district (map) in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1975.
Before his election to Congress, he served six years in the California State Assembly so he is slicker than 40 weight oil on a brass doorknob. Hmmm, never served in the Military supports abortion rights,
* Committee on Energy and Commerce (Chairman) A s Chair of the full committee, Rep. Waxman is an ex officio member of all subcommittees* Pretty busy Dude, has his fingers and influence in a whole lotta pies.

OK then, “Dick Tracy” Waxman has been feeding at the Public Trough for about 35 years, led a Congressional Investigation on among other issues, Steroid Use in ML Baseball while Fannie & Freddie were tanking, Wall Street Pirates sold crappy Securities & Derivatives, Bankrupted Pension Funds, MEDICARE and Social Security became more insolvent but those Base Ball Players doing roids got his scrutiny. He strongly supported O’Care which is a huge rape of the Public Trust. He led the charge on spanking Big Tobacco.

In 1985, Waxman sponsored a bill supported by affluent homeowners groups in his district to ban federal funding for the Red Line subway in response to a methane gas explosion in the Fairfax District. In 2005, a robust real estate market, multi-dwelling construction boom, and lack of public mass transit planning on the westside caused by Waxman’s bill resulted in gridlock throughout Waxman’s district.

At the request of Los Angeles Mayor and LACMTA Board President Antonio Villaraigosa, Waxman agreed to lift the ban if a panel of five engineers found tunneling under the Miracle Mile stretch of Wilshire Boulevard to be safe. In October 2005, the panel decided that tunneling was possible, and on December 16, Waxman responded by announcing he would introduce a bill to the U.S. House that would lift the ban on federal money for subway tunneling in the district. This bill passed the House via unanimous vote on September 20, 2006.

Waxman maintains that the 1985 bill was sponsored in the interest of public safety and not, as some allege, to hinder access of the working classes in South and East Los Angeles to his affluent district. In a letter to the Los Angeles Times, Waxman cites the 2005 study: “The panel concurred as well that in 1985, the decision to hold further tunneling in abeyance was prudent, given the circumstances and extent of information and technology at that time. Much has changed since then to significantly improve tunneling and operation safety

Yessir!!!! atti, He certainly looks like a pig from my point of view, has a Law Degree but was too much of a dullard to ever practice Law but survived on lying and political treachery for most of his adult life. A died in the wool Democrat in Sheep’s clothing (Wolf ) and Enemy of both the Republic, Private Enterprise and the Taxpayer. Wastes OPM, Other Peoples Money on pet projects, investigations and subpoenas anyone that he considers the “flavor of the week”.

Every State elects folks like him. California is the current record holder so far for sending incompetent and arrogant Fools to DC to pose, posture and piss away your tax dollars. I’m sure that New York is a close second.

Breakfast time now on the wrong side of the world. Back to my reality, Mr. Obama’s War and if George Patton Jr. was here he would be cussing a blue streak. I get results proportionate to “doing more with less”. Sleep well tonight, Waxman, Pelosi, Boxer, Obama and his merry band are watching your SIX.

Take Care!

Hand salute! You are on the muscle OT. That calf wound didn’t slow up your fingers or make your mind less nimble. Thanks for the follow up commentary; it us outstanding, outstanding indeed!

Just arrived in Southeastern Utah, there will be 20 plus horses tomorrow and then I am off to Vegas, for work only, I find gambling to be so boring.

Nearly hit a Whitetail buck tonight on a two lane. The guy in the opposite lane had on his high beams and probably didn’t know hr was pushing he was pushing him into my lane, the truck had on his brights and all I could see was a buck with a nice rack zig zagging towards me. I slammed on the brakes and missed him.

It would have been a double tragedy since my customers had pretty well given me a top of the line full size low mileage Mercedes (they know it is my favorite car). Sometimes people appreciate extra effort.

@ Skookum…priorities …deer steak or insurance claims..brake hard and avoid it…

Caution and Priorities and limited liability and get to lodging and get a whiskey a meal and drive on.

I envy your life more than anyone’s Salute. From Alexander the Great until now the Stans were deadly, harsh and the Old USSR got it’s collective A$$ kicked in here. I’d rather be breaking wild horses than fighting here… but the beat goes on…

OT, the salute as you know was merely a way to show respect, for you and the rank.

From Alexander the Great until now the Stans were deadly, harsh and the Old USSR got it’s collective A$$ kicked in here.

That is a powerful line, with a lot of possibilities; we as a country seem to go to war against human monsters in some G-d forsaken Hell holes and men like you bear the brunt of the cost, while the ‘turd in the punchbowl’ worries about capitulation. Soon you will be home and tuning up your quarter horses, while managing your ranch in Big Sky country; heaven on earth for horses, cattle, and a certain type of man who requires freedom and the ability to roam a bit.

Congratulations on your daughter, you must be proud!

Take care.

As I recall Waxman voted for ObamaCare, can anybody believe him either. This whole damned congress is full of liars, cheats and thieves. To quote Thomas Jefferson ” When injustice becomes law, then rebellion becomes duty.”

Missy, move to your farm as planned. You will be far safer there.

I’m shocked! Wait, it was just a cramp. Nevermind.

OT, keep your head down. For what it’s worth, if I were president, I’d drop a few strategically placed MOABs. Maybe you and your troops would be able to come home sooner and you could get back to your ranch. And off course you’d be able to launch predators from Iran, cause I’d nuke the whole country into the world’s largest airfield. But that’s just me.

Could it be that the 22.9 Billion Dollar ‘Fix’ for Medicare to cover doctor’s fees is the payoff to doctors who supported Obama’s health bill. A bribe? Waxman wants to sound as though he is on the side of reason — “We Can’t Afford Obama’s Healthcare”, but out of the other side of his mouth comes this call for more spending; billions of dollar more in spending. We’re done with Waxman, too. Get him out. No more spending — and let’s repeal the Obama health care mess. Let’s get rid of Obama, too.

I can’t wait to save $2500 per year on health care costs, keep my doctor and my plan and reduce my rates by 3000% just like Obama promised.

Long ago I said it was simply impossible to add 30 million people to health care rolls, do away with pre-existing conditions and lower costs.

It made no financial sense whatsoever.

I watched those idiotic Democrats continue to assert otherwise in a complete repudiation of reality.

Stupid stupid stupid.

@AdrianS

It’s not a payoff, Adrian. It’s critical if you want to retain doc’s within the system. Medicare payments are already far below normal fees. If you cut that by 25% you’ll have no one treating Medicare patients.

It’s not reasonable to ask someone to work at a loss.

Does Pelosi work at a loss? Will Waxman take a 25% pay cut?

I am disabled and unfortunately have to rely on Medicare for my health insurance. Last week, I was in the ER for complications related to my heart condition. The lab work showed my cardiac enzymes to be elevated in the category relating to CHF. The ER doc tried for THREE HOURS to admit me, but Medicare kept denying him.

I followed up with my physician the next day who gave me the report of the blood tests from the ER. He had me see my cardiologist right away and gave me the results of the blood tests to give to my cardiologist. Odd thing is, last year I was in the ER and subsequently admitted to the hospital for cardiac enzymes that were LOWER than what occurred last week. Medicare allowed it then, but denied it now.

Rationing is already happening.

The whole Democratic “health reform” bill is classic “bait and switch,” a “Pig in a poke,” “Trojan horse” or what ever colorful description you want to use for an outright dishonest social engineering project based on purely on scamming the public into accepting more big government socialism. If this was a private corporation they would be under investigation for fraud. Being government it is simply business as usual by the Democratic party. And they have the gaul to be “surprised” at the voter anger that has turned against them.

Encouraging ideas from this blog. Its a very nice read!
