Hello, Obama? It’s me, America. You’re not listening! [Reader Post]

Obama: Screw you, America:

Sixty-seven percent (67%) of U.S. voters say military troops should be sent to the Mexican border to prevent illegal immigration. A new Rasmussen Reports nationwide telephone survey finds that just 18% are opposed and another 15% are not sure.

A majority of Democrats, Republicans, and unaffiliated voters all support the concept of using the troops to stop illegal immigration.

Obama is sending 1200 National Guard troops to the border, but it’s not to protect the borders. He said he’s sending them for the interdiction of drugs and violence, but since they’re unarmed that assertion makes no sense at all.

Most Americans don’t want Obama screwing with Arizona:

The new survey also finds that just 26% of voters believe the U.S. Department of Justice should challenge the legality of Arizona’s new law in federal court. Fifty-six percent (56%) oppose such a challenge, and 18% more are not sure. Earlier polling found that most Americans trust the Arizona state leaders more than leaders in Washington, DC on the topic of immigration.

The Head of ICE has said that he might not process the illegals rounded up by Arizona. 55% of Americans think that’s wrong.

Money quote:

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of voters believe a police officer should be required to check the immigration status of anyone stopped for a traffic violation or violation of some other law if he suspects the person might be an illegal immigrant.

2/3 of Americans think local authorities should be able to question anyone who they think might be here illegally.

Democrats in Boston and Los Angeles were among the first to announce boycotts of Arizona, but 68% of Americans say it’s a bad idea for other cities or states to boycott Arizona over its new immigration law.

Most American feel that securing the borders is more important than legalizing illegals. And they are angry- at the federal government. 65% of American think states should have the right to protect their own borders if the Federal government won’t do its job.

Representative, schmepresentative. Democrats don’t believe in a representative government. They believe in an elitist oligarchy, and that is how they rule the land today. It’s clear what Americans want, and it’s not unreasonable. It’s a whole lot more reasonable than what they do in Mexico.

Want to voice an opinion? Here ya go:

Do you support Arizona’s tough new law on illegal immigration?

Look for yourself at the results. It’s hard to imagine anyone being more totally out of touch than Democrats are right now. Hopefully in November, they’ll be out of touch for good in favor of someone who believes in representational democracy.

He is all about posturing.

I wonder if we made the illegals – legal with the caveat that they can never ever vote or hold an elected office if all of a sudden the border would be closed??

.
Its a matter of misread statisics, If most in-country Mexicans are for legal immigration then against it, what is the poliical net gain vs how many more Americans vote against OHbama and the Komiiecrats?
.
If the primus is that acorn & the Kommiecrats can forge enough ballots to win will the felony be so apparent (Minnisota by 2,00 votes!) to cause more then just demonstrations?
.
Has the regime become so blinded by its arrogance as to not see that its not just congress thats going to take a severe hit but all the little Kommiecrats from govenors to dog catchers too?
.
My opinopn of OHbama is he has been pampered all his life, accomplished nothing but the ability to bully students striving for a passing grade, considers whatever he does exceptional and there is no god but OHbama.
.
I am amazed at Americans. Standing up to the strongest amn & govorment in the world (Iran is excluded as its a dictatorship) with friendlymess, charm and law abiding.
.
God I love this country.

Hey Obama…F. U. too.

I’ll speak for my fellow comrades in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts:

“Technically, it isn’t illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts”

That’s it for now. 😉

This Guard to the border move is an echo of what Dubya did back in 2006. Is it absurd to send the guard to be intel and paper pushers, but with no ability to act on those crossing the border? Well… yup. Is it unprecedented? Nope. The last of Bush’s Guard on the border, meant to transition to increased border agents, were withdrawn in 2008.

I only point this out because if anyone wants to make an issue of this, you’d better be prepared to answer for recent history.

@imjustmusing, “technically”, that statement is correct. It is a misdemeanor offense to be in the US illegally. It is not “illegal” for one guilty of a misdemeanor to reside in any state of the US.

The problem lies with the laws, created by Congress, that does not acknowledge the serious degree of danger and intent with illegal entry in the US. So based on the current law, and it’s minor penalties, that statement is… unfortunately… correct.

That said, this is a political move by Obama to try and lessen the political blowback going on via the immigration subject. Little more. Despicable? Of course. But I expect nothing less from the temporary occupant of the Oval Office.

If ICE won’t process the illegals arrested in Arizona, ship them to Washington DC where they are wanted.

When you find out that our enemies are coming into the USA by entering Mexico and just WALKING in, you would think that Obama would want to stop them, until you realize who’s side Obama is on.

The more things he does and doesn’t do, the more I am convinced that WE are his enemy and he wants to defeat US. How many more of OUR enemies will come in before Obama decides there are enough to start the takeover of the USA?

Regardless of the stated intent, DrJohn, the authorized powers remain either eerily similar, or identical. The detention of any illegals is still the job of the border patrols. The Guard was armed… as they usually are.. .but without authority do do anything unless in defense in 2006-08. In this case, they aren’t really in the field, but manning intel surveillance and offices.

So, pray tell, please point out the differences… save in stated intent? In reality, not much different. It’s just a Bush’ism Obama is trying to utilize to redeem his bad self from negative press. However it’s nothing to make a stink over since we’ve already been here, done that. Trust me, they are not going to okay putting an Armed Guard on the border to shoot illegal entry immigrants on sight. Nor should they.

The bigger stink is the Homeland Security watch for the Somalis, known to be crossing the TX border. Frankly, if “national security” was the goal, Obama would be working with the governors to send the Guard to TX for armed security, based on that purpose. This, however, is just a political schtick maneuver to retrieve some support against the national polling (which includes legal immigrants being royally po’d). But it’s not much different than what we did before. So I really can’t be blown up with indignation over somethat that isn’t an unprecendented maneuver of Guard troops.

Drjohn, we are not Mexico. Nor should we attempt to emulate Mexico. We simply don’t shoot people for misdemeanor offenses. To even suggest we do is absurd. Detention is one thing. Enforcement and deportation following that detention is also good. Armed US forces shooting immigrants? Not in my America.

DrJohn: One of the first jobs for Congress is to redefine illegal entry. It has to be more onerous a penalty for busting in here.

As I’ve repeatedly stated here, I can’t agree more. But good luck with that, despite what political party enjoys the majority. Ain’t gonna happen under the GOP any more than it will happen under the lib/progs.

Guns are a deterrent… but only when wielded by the citizens defending their homes as the last line of defense. There isn’t a chance in hell that any border agent or Guard member will be issued the okay to shoot on sight – as opposed to detain/deport – those attempting to enter illegally. And I, for one, would be sorely disappointed if they did. Hang… I would be ecstatic if they’d actually would detain/deport on sight, fer heavens sake! IOW, enforce current laws.

I think Estelle Getty is booked on another film…. bummer.

Our POTHUS is just demonstrating a good front before he introduces the new NORTH AMERICAN UNION. Obviously he can’t enforce our borders if the NWO wants to merge the U.S. Canada
and Mexico. Perhaps Arizona’s governor preempted him before he could drop the ball!

P.S. How DARE our Congress disrespect a sitting Governor to placate Calderon!!!

Rally ‘Round The Flag!!!

RALLY ‘ROUND THE FLAG: hi, CANADA don’t go for merging with MEXICO for sure. bye 🙄

ilovebeeswarzone- Don’t you worry about us in the states…we have things covered!! It looks
like Ohio may be on board with legislation similar to Arizona’s..perhaps other states as well.
It appears that this could be a test of our states rights vs. the Feds. 😯 Always interesting.
Now watch your back.

Calgary has been invaded by Americns and we’re glad to have them. LOL.

Oil Guy, Calgary is the cleanest, nicest, most well designed, beautiful cities in the world. Where else can you eat outside at a cafe while watching men fly fish one of the best trout streams in the world and pretty girls walk by with short skirts. We should keep that information to ourselves, we don’t want to let everyone in on our little secret.

You seem to want to suggest that because crooks do crooked things, when you catch one his excuse could be that
everyone steals, embezzles, kills, or offers candidates jobs to get them out of an election.” Ever watch
when a police officer pulls over three cars at a time for speeding and tickets them all. Those are the ones that he caught.

Obama has essentially been caught. No excuse. No rational explanation as to why he broke the law. Just a fast one to
try and pull the wool over the public’s eyes. But forget not that Obama is NOT slick-Willie.

Dr John, judging by that photo of Obama, he doesn’t seem to be too concerned with our opinions.

“It’s hard to imagine anyone being more totally out of touch than Democrats are right now.”

You mean like they were when they passed Healthcare back in March? These guys have got to go. This is the worst I have ever seen this great nation. I blame it ALL on Obama and the Dems.

Indeed. I thought that image really captured Obama and his ‘tude.

@Mikey: I think a more accurate statement would be to say, “I blame the ones who voted the dems in office.” Remember Obama’s conversation with Joe The Plumber and he said, “I think spreading the wealth is a good thing?” He’s just doing what he said he would do if elected.

If the dems don’t want THEIR wealth spread around, then they shouldn’t have elected “The Spreader” to office. This is the only “Spreader” that can spread the wealth and manure at the same time.

RALLY ‘ROUND THE FLAG: hi, i realy am not worry I know tHE CONSERVATIVES will cope with intelligences in anything; but i am a friend and that’s what friends are for: YOU dont mind if I comment on some POST, do you?. bye 🙄

ilovebeeswarzone- Are you still in Khandahar? We look forward to all of your postings. Maybe
you can give us an update on our Allied progress. It appears that our POTHUS may be having
second thoughts on ignoring Arizona’s Gov. Brewer’s legislation and has invited her to the W.H.
But then again… I think it may just be another photo op. (We just hope that he, Holder or Napolitano read the damn bill this time before uttering a word to the press!) 🙄

RALLY ‘AROUND THE FLAG:thank’s, I wish i could be there but no,i never went in KANDAHAR: check for OT’S comments for info: i say the GOVERNER BREWER, is SOME SMART, and the ARIZONIANS love her courage to come out in front to solve the problems of her BEAUTIFUL ARIZONA. bye 🙄

Just got back from Australia, where the press is having a field day against obama. It’s astonishing what they reported about America and Americans- comments you would never hear from CNN, ABC or the New York Times. The Australian version of “60 Minutes” did a show where it highlighted the conservative movement “sweeping the United States” and pointedly commented about obama’s lack of leadership.

It’s always fun to get outside the US and find out what is really happening here… 😉

@DKK

It’s always fun to get outside the US and find out what is really happening here… 😉

Remember when Americans used to only think such things when comparing the press coverage in Communist nations, compared to what US news media was reporting? Why are we not more outraged and protesting in the streets about how the MSM has become a de facto globalist propaganda ministry?

Probably because the MSM is ruled by the ilk of George Soros and his cabal of billionaires through whose money they have managed to make socialist propaganda the norm. Absent the opportunity to actually get out of the country, most people won’t have the perspective that there is more to a point of view than that of the New York Slimes. And yes, I sure do remember when we said that about other countries. It is saddening. 🙁

this is the most dishonored job BY A REPORTER OF A MEDIA BOUGHT ,
to deceive the AMERICANS, THEY WILL PAY THE PRICE SOMEDAY,
and it will be coming FROM the PEOPLE
