Obama – There Is Just Too Much Media Out There…It’s Ruining Our Democracy

By 41 Comments

“And my ability to control the misinformation.”

Waaaa Waaaa Waaaa

Imagine if Bush had said this:

“Meanwhile, you’re coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don’t rank all that high on the truth meter. With iPods and iPads; Xboxes and PlayStations; information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment. All of this is not only putting new pressures on you; it is putting new pressures on our country and on our democracy.”

What he’s crying about is the fact that he and his cohorts haven’t been as successful as hoped in controlling the flow of information, and how we…his minions…should interpret that information. Very hard to lie when there are so many forms of media today. How else can he sell us crap like how well the economy is going, or a State actually enforcing laws is a bad thing, or Socializing medicine isn’t going to cost us more in the long run, both economically and in the quality of that service.

It was sooooo much better when all we had were the alphabet channels, the NYT’s, and Cronkite to control what the flow of information….right?

Curt served in the Marine Corps for four years and has been a law enforcement officer in Los Angeles for the last 26 years.

As another blog stated, “He proved what a fearful, small minded person he is”. Guess that about fills the empty suit with BS. I didn’t call him a Bastard because he truly is one by the old definition.

Do you notice how Obama always refers to the US as a democracy instead of a republic?
It’s like… if he says it often enough it will be so.
He always finds a way to say it at the universities—– He’s a little Chavez wannabe.

It is helpful to view this through the eyes of Obama, he is a demagogue that was within inches of establishing a Totalitarian Socialist Government; however, to establish a totalitarian state it is imperative that the state control all forms of media; otherwise, the truth leaks out and your propaganda bureaus are rendered impotent. Without these pesky purveyors of truth and other strains of filth; Obama might have bee successful in establishing The Socialist States of Obama.

Consequently, faced with an overwhelming rejection of all his policies and a sincere desire to reject and rescind all his failures, Obama may as well try to improve his golf game. The American public will be much more relaxed with Obama out on the course rather than the humiliation he causes by making a buffoon of himself on the international stage.

Are you kiddin me!! It’s 0-bama’s masetery of the MSM that got him elected!! Now that they are realizing what a loser this guy is, he turns on them. I’m telling you this guy is dangerous. Look at what is happening to our economy, our security, jobs, and our moral spirit!! November can not come soon enough to slow this donward spiral to hell. I pray for my country even though this evil man does all he can to take prayer away!!

One of the most incomprehensible things to me about this is that for all of this supposed excess of media and distracting deluge of information, somehow the TOTALLY NEWSWORTHY Nashville flood which ought to be EVERYWHERE in the media has only been found on the “distracting” information sources.

  6. 8

    CbR

    What he really said was:

it is putting new pressures on our country and on my Socialist democracy

Skookum hits it and I’m not getting any warm fuzzy’s of reaching November, as Common Sense says, before being sucked into the Black Hole of the Totalitarian Socialist state.

Most certainly this pathetic liar (Obama) is speaking about the MSM (Main Stream Media) and their covering up for Barack Obama, a lame president (mentally). All need be said is keep up the good work, Tea Party and Conservative folks — you’re killing Obama in his sadness.

That was depressing. If I was a graduating student, I heard that I probably just wasted a lot of time and money, because of war and a sucky economy and lousy job market. I heard I’m further wasting my time listening to media, because I can’t tell good information from false, and don’t care enough about information to use it right anyway. Here’s the guy whose risen to the top of his field, and he’s not optimistic about my future.
I hope there were better parts of this speech, because if it was all like this, those students are going to need counseling to shake off the malaise.

Petulant. Thin skinned. Whiney and a cry baby. Bush was atrocious on the economic front, but was a great foreign policy President, all the while the MSM was blasting him. He never took the bait and made an ass out of himself in public by whining or attacking those who opposed him. That is called class, something else in which Obama runs a high deficit.

THIS, coming from the biggest source of bullshit ever seen in this country. (spit)

It is not just Obama. The Dims are foaming at the orifices and will give away anything for the opportunity for a democrat majority for 100 years, if they can just gain more control and…… amnesty for illegals. It is not 12 million but more like 20 million. Plus, with chain family reunification we go to 80 million in ten years or so, mostly dimocrats.

Carter gave away south FL and today’s dims and obama want to give the nation away, if not stopped in NOV.

  12. 15

    braininahat

You see, all this freedom of speech — ahem, blogs and internt sites — is posing a threat to our democracy, so Obama will save democracy by ridding us of all this freedom. If you think he isn’t going to try it, then you’re beyond help.

  13. 16

Perhaps the MSM and Democratic elites don’t care about Nashville because it’s populated mostly by people they consider contemptible.

Wait? What the hell does gaming devices have to do with media disinformation, Mr. President? Sure MSNBC tries to infest Xbox Live but most people are far too damn busy playing Halo Reach beta test and Battlefield Bad Company 2…

As one who lives in game worlds a lot–This speech is why— The most positive spin I can put on it is “Stop playing games and get to work; drop this fun fantasy and see the world in boring gray; turn on NBC and stop thinking of Fallout 3 (which is very satirical).”
This man must be a real downer to live with. I’m getting more sympathetic toward MeesHell all the time. Her commencement speech about embracing hardship is scary too. No wonder she’s focused on shoes and handbags for comfort.

Like all commie thugs, Obama-Speak’s regime find their survival in a world of free speech to not be so bright.

Obama-Speak, the fusion of sophistry and Newspeak. Some say it’s a gift, but most recognize it for what it really is, just lies.

Want to see the future, look to Venezuela.

I’m sure that the reason the word “pickaninny” has survived 23 comments without mention here is only due to the fact that most of the commenters here are too young to be familiar with the racism implied in its use.

My guess is that “Robbins Mitchell” is a HuffPo troll or Kos Kid trying to discredit this site and not a real racist. Either way he/she/it doesn’t belong here.

DaNang67, we are of the same generation and I remember the negative connotations of the word and was shocked to see it on these pages; however, I thought the word might have sanitized over the decades and now be accepted. I wish I would have been the first to register a complaint; but it is an honor to follow your lead. Thank you for standing up for integrity.

For you younger generations, “pickaninny” is an archaic and derogatory term that refers to Black children.

The most evil of all of the “electronic media” is the teleprompter which in this case does not rank very high on the truth meter. Someone please remove all of the teleprompters and send the Pretender in Chief an x-box to help him rank higher on the truth meter.

Lame Cherry wrote a post about the fraud’s commencement speech ( he really needs to get rid of Jon the Groper & find somebody new – you can only keep spewing the same BS for so long)

Anyway LC made this comment and I burst out laughing when I read it…………..

“I knew something was vastly wrong with Obama, but hearing these statements from Obama bring the conclusion he is beyond any programming help. He is a burned out 486 processor and his motherboard is fried.”

0bama’s attitude reminds me of lines from the Mike and the Mechanics song “Silent Running”:
“…Don’t believe the church and state
    And everything they tell you
Believe in me, I’m with the high command”

  24. 28

Obama told us to ignore Joe The Plumber, Rush Limbaugh, and Fox News. They increased in popularity and income. When Obama says the same thing as we shouldn’t get and use iPods, iPads, Xboxes, and PlayStations, I am guessing they will be more popular than ever. I suggest we invest in those companies and help them “Spread the wealth.”

  25. 29

When Obama said the media “…don’t always rank that high on the truth meter,” was he talking about what I call the propaganda media, Fox News, or both?

IT would’nt take much for him to say”MAKE THE WORLD GO AWAY”,but even if it would happen, there would always be the” technology”,that people could express their disagreement for the wrong doing;and this web communication is very well represented having a group of very skill people to instruct the rest of the population, and get the truth to circulate;like here at FA.

Ayers, Klonsky, SDS, a variety of communists and terrorists have worked for this moment for many years, they aint playin. They have the knife in deeper and easier than they ever thought when they were funding the Chicago communist New Party and val Jaretts daddy. The next two years will be dangerous. Like it or not, that’s an entirely accurate description of the situation.

Contemporary media is in the disinformation business as much the information business. With some outlets, purposeful disinformation seems to be the primary product.

    Hankster58

Also too much misinformation coming from the White House!! If Obama wants to “clean up the info scene”.. make it a Felony to report FALSE info as real!! A FIRING offense for Government Officials to do so… in other words “They LIE-it’s Good Bye”!!
Maybe that would help Obama to be “less confused”…. of Course, Reid and Pelosi etc could never speak again! LOL!!

  31. 37

“Like it or not, that’s an entirely accurate description of the situation.”

Saddens me to say it, but some of the things that national media puts out into the public is taken right from the presidents administration. So, I guess Obamas statement isn’t just his perspective on what’s currently going on wit dishonesty in the American media, but it can also be his confession to contributing to that misinformation. Very ironic I suppose, is it not?

  32. 38

    One Free Man

Allow me to top this discussion off on a high note: What this man is saying, is to drop the dreams.. drop the illusions.. the fantasy. Not only has he just blatantly told us what most of the readers have interpreted above, he has no blatantly told us to drop hope; the very same thing he ran on. I tip my hat to you dear sir, if all hope that lied with you shall be dropped for a better dream, I’ll take an ipod and fame before I’ll be off on my way. Good day.

Do not forget what our founding Father Thomas Jefferson said:
” Whenever the people are well informed they can be trusted with their own government.”
Does Obama want you to be misinformed so that he can give you his own Chavez style government?

  34. 41

    Ditto

    @Rick et al

I believe that it is not just Obama but the far-left in general. They all consider the general populous to be uninformed, and they work very hard to try to keep them that way. Look at the failures of the US education system, the overly expensive and heavily politicized colleges and the fact that most broadcast and print news sources are little more than opinion blogs, tabloid trash-talkers and propaganda mills. The socialist progressives are well aware that when you control what the people know, you manage how they think. This all started with the very evil Woodrow Wilson, and these type of elites know that they must seek and destroy opposition media that they do not control.
