New Polls Out Continue To Show ObamaCare Popularity Slide

Loading

Few weeks ago the split on ObamaCare was 45/42 against. What is it now after the “Socialism is Awesome” tour by Obama?

53/37

But hey, it’s only been a week right?

Voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats on nine out of 10 key issues regularly tracked by Rasmussen Reports, but the gap between the two parties has grown narrower on several of them.

Following the passage of the health care bill, 53% now say they trust Republicans on the issue of health care. Thirty-seven percent (37%) place their trust in Democrats. A month earlier, the two parties were essentially even on the health care issue

~~~
On the economy, Republicans are trusted more by 49% while Democrats are preferred by 37%. That’s a big improvement for the GOP following a five-point advantage last month. More voters who make under $20,000 annually trust Democrats on this issue, but voters who earn more than that favor Republicans.
And the hits keep rolling on in:
The public is increasingly skeptical of the health care reform bill signed into law last week, a new CBS News poll shows.
More Americans now disapprove of the legislation, and many expect their costs to rise and the quality of their care to worsen; few expect the reforms to help them.
President Obama has continued to tour the country to stump for his new set of reforms. This week he went to Portland, Maine, where he told people it will take more than a week for the benefits of reform to become apparent.
Fifty-three percent of Americans say they disapprove of the new reforms, including 39 percent who say they disapprove strongly. In the days before the bill passed the House, 37 percent said they approved and 48 percent disapproved.
Even the faithful are feeling a bit put out:
Roxanne Lewis expressed a similar point of view. A small business owner in Grand Junction, Lewis described herself as a lifelong Democrat and called the president a “phenomenal speaker.” She voted for him because she “believed in what he was saying: change.”
But, Lewis added, “I should’ve listened a lot closer when he talked about ‘spreading the wealth.’ “
Asked how she feels about having voted for the president, Lewis said “I feel lied to, cheated and raped.”
Yeah, you were lied to and its nice to hear many of them are figuring it out but the damage is done. Our country is sliding into the chasm of mediocrity by way of Socialism, and due to ObamaCare it might be too late to stop it.
Power-mad Democrat’s are in denial that they have based Obamacare on constitutionally nonexistent federal government powers. More specifically, given the Constitution’s silence on public healthcare, the 10th A. automatically reserves government power to regulate healthcare to the states, not the Oval Office and Congress.
In fact, the SCOTUS has already decided that Congress has no business sticking its big nose into the medical practice.
“Direct control of medical practice in the states is obviously beyond the power of Congress.” –Linder v. United States, 1925. http://supreme.justia.com/us/268/5/case.html
What’s going on is that Democrats have foolishly based Congress’s authority to make healthcare legislation on perversions of the General Welfare and Commerce Clauses by FDR’s puppet justices in the 1930s and 40s. Justices wrongly ignored the following excerpts from Jefferson’s writings when deciding cases which tested the limits of Congress’s powers. Jefferson’s clear explanations of the General Welfare and Commerce Clauses would have prevented decades of illegal federal government taxing and spending, IMO.
First, here’s Jefferson’s common-sense explanation of the limits of Congress’s enumerated powers with respect to the General Welfare Clause.
“1. To lay taxes to provide for the general welfare of the United States, that is to say, “to lay taxes for the purpose of providing for the general welfare.” For the laying of taxes is the power, and the general welfare the purpose for which the power is to be exercised. They are not to lay taxes ad libitum for any purpose they please; but only to pay the debts or provide for the welfare of the Union. In like manner, they are not to do anything they please to provide for the general welfare, but only to lay taxes for that purpose. To consider the latter phrase, not as describing the purpose of the first, but as giving a distinct and independent power to do any act they please, which might be for the good of the Union, would render all the preceding and subsequent enumerations of power completely useless.
It would reduce the whole instrument to a single phrase, that of instituting a Congress with power to do whatever would be for the good of the United States; and, as they would be the sole judges of the good or evil, it would be also a power to do whatever evil they please.” –Jefferson’s Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank : 1791 http://avalon.law.yale.edu/18th_century/bank-tj.asp
Jefferson clearly indicated that good intentions are no substitute for enumerated powers when it comes to making legislation.
Finally, here’s an excerpt from Jefferson’s writings on the Commerce Clause.
“For the power given to Congress by the Constitution does not extend to the internal regulation of the commerce of a State, (that is to say of the commerce between citizen and citizen,) which remain exclusively with its own legislature; but to its external commerce only, that is to say, its commerce with another State, or with foreign nations, or with the Indian tribes.” –Jefferson’s Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank : 1791 http://avalon.law.yale.edu/18th_century/bank-tj.asp
With terms like “does not extend” and “exclusively,” Jefferson made it clear that Congress has no authority to interfere with intrastate commerce.
Yes, I just read that article. Stupid obots just voted for the shit eating grin. Damned airheads.
Obama Voter: ‘I Feel Lied To, Cheated and Raped’
The increasingly unpopular Barack Obama isn’t going to like such vitriol, especially when it’s coming from a woman who voted for him.
Ann Ducket attended the Tea Party rally in Grand Junction, Colorado, on Wednesday.
A lawyer and lifelong Democrat, Ducket made her political leanings clear: She said she was a campus community organizer for Democratic Sen. George McGovern’s 1972 presidential campaign, voted for Jimmy Carter and Al Gore, and previously ran for elective office in Colorado as a Democrat.
“I was a card-carrying member of the ACLU, and I probably did inhale in college,” Ducket said.
Ducket, who is now an independent and did not vote for Obama, said the president has “carried things to an extreme.”
“I think we’ve gone too far on the side of government doing too much,” Ducket said. “The Democratic Party is wanting to take care of everyone, instead of helping everybody stand on their own two feet.”
Roxanne Lewis expressed a similar point of view. A small business owner in Grand Junction, Lewis described herself as a lifelong Democrat and called the president a “phenomenal speaker.” She voted for him because she “believed in what he was saying: change.”
But, Lewis added, “I should’ve listened a lot closer when he talked about ‘spreading the wealth.’ ”
Asked how she feels about having voted for the president, Lewis said “I feel lied to, cheated and raped.”
Lewis criticized the taxpayer-funded bailouts of financial institutions, which began under former President George W. Bush, and the bailout of General Motors and Chrysler.
“These are not the Democrats that I have been brought up with,” Lewis said. However, she said she will continue to be a Democrat.
Even after being “raped” by one? 😕
Ummm, YES THEY ARE ONLY NOW THEY DON’T TRY TO HIDE IT!
Stupid idiot voter. Voting party politics is dangerous. She needs to apologize to everyone who begged them to look further and not vote for soetoro
Both parties are the same.
Vote for individuals who walk their talk and support the constitutiton THE solid STATIC document that DOES NOT LIVE AND BREATHE.
This line is worth repeating:
Asked how she feels about having voted for the president, Lewis said “I feel lied to, cheated and raped.”
I’ve got more bad polling news to post soon.
Let us pray and work to bring about B+ Obumbler’s political defeat & death constitutionally knowing that ihis demise will take the democrat party down with him. The public now knows the republic and its citizens freedom, right, and constitutional rule have been prepared for extermination and their lives injected with the poison of statism and tyranny by the toxins of an overweening welfare state imposed on them by by the democraps and their socialist and marxist masters who seized the party four decades ago.
Let us hope that the despotic and regressive politburo troika of Barry,Harry, and Scary take the entire democrap party and its congressional politburo down to electoral ruination forever by ramming through crap and tax, card check, and an amnesty featuring instant voting rights for illegals sending itself over an electoral cliff to a long deserved eternal rendevous with the Federalists and Whigs and taking with them their enablers the nation’s bureaucracies, labor unions, wackademia, the criminal propagandist and prevaricators of the media, and the 150 year old festering pustule on the nation’s posterior that is the political left.
The fibs and follies of the Barry, Harry and Scary troika and their congressional politburo of socialist and marxists has left the democrat party with only one last hope for avoiding electoral and popular annhilaition in November and that is ending the Republic. The corrupt troika of the democorrupt party, the congressional politburo, and the pied pipers Obumbler, Deafish Rahmbo, and Axelrat with their sense of entitlement as the nations rulers make them unable to accept defeat so theymust now gin up crisis, slap us with martial law, and cancel elections or face political death at the polls. Such such a course actions will enrage an already restive citizenry and precipitate a popular mass revolution a la Corazon Aquino’s 1986 People Power that in a mtter of days turned out of a tyrant who had reined for nearly 20 years.
The democrats in the District of Corruption, their bureaucratic henchmen, the left, the mad hatters of wackodemaia and their media harlots must either submit to electoral annhilation in November or they will go the way of the French Bourbons, the medieval armored knights, East European communist regimes, and the Soviet Union.
The democrats seem to have forgotten the wise observation by Montesquieu on Popular Sovereignty taught to the Stuarts, the reality of the millenas old Chinese Mandate of Heaven , and the principles stated in the the Declaration of Independence on March 21, 2010.
The democrat party survived their last attempt at suicide when they tried to seize perpetual electoral control of government led by Stephen Douglas with the Kansas Nebraska Act in 1854 to please their slavery wing but it is unlikely to survive the socialist coup on a Sunday night two weeks ago.
So I take it that this legislation, HCR, that he signed is his political death in 2012?
Is that what I’m to take away from this? 🙄
I think you guys are overly optimistic if you think he will be defeated in 2012.
The only reason the Republicans will pick up seats in 2010 is because they aren’t Demoncats.
Let’s be honest here.
Anyone that voted for Obama needs to sit back and enjoy the ride.Elections matter.People wanted Socialism well they got it.True McCain was not much of alternative but at least Palin could have represented us/
Cons I hate to keep reminding you of this but, like the 65 mile per hour speed limit, it really doesn’t matter how “popular” the health care reform laws are: they are the law of the land. You have as much chance of repealing Obamacare as he has of playing in the NBA — which is “zero.” Your time would probably be better spent by . . ., oh, I don’t know, maybe reorganizing the RNC so that is does NOT resemble a car full of midget clowns at a circus . . . .
Theodore — Sarah Palin . . . the former half-term governor of one of the least populated states in the union . . . that is your savior, huh? OK . . . .
As if we don’t grow weary of having to reiterate things to you, BRob. Cons aren’t the only ones who feel this health care reform bill is a mistake, as said to you many times before. People from various political parties and people like me with no party feel the exact same way. This is proof that our Congress and President Obama have not one clue about what it takes to stay healthy, manage healthy habits, and take care of health finances.
Also, health care reform can be fought against as the American people are showing. Many Congressman and Congresswoman who voted for this bill are now in danger of losing their seat, and some now have no chance at reelection. Mistakes can always be fixed, America has withered through many only to come out of it stronger than before, which is why I don’t think the recent health care reform debacle will turn out any different.
BRob,Sadly there are few Conservatives/Republicans representing us.Do I look at Sarah as the savior?No of course not.I just saw in that Sea of Liberals,Moderates,and hangers on around the McCain Campaign that Sarah was the only Diamond.Slim Pickings indeed. 🙁 …….oh and Happy Easter! 🙂
@Ryan said: “As if we don’t grow weary of having to reiterate things to you, BRob. Cons aren’t the only ones who feel this health care reform bill is a mistake.”
Right you are. BLOB isn’t here to discuss the issues. He’s just here to repeat the same lies that George Soros told him to say over and over and over as if repetition makes them true.
Clearly the Independent voters who got sucked into Obama’s shuck and jive figured out pretty quickly that they were LIED to during the campaign and turned to Republicans first in Virginia, New Jersey and then Massachusetts.
BLOB can’t handle the reality that his messiah has been exposed as a false prophet and a charlatan peddling socialist snake oil so he has to try and create a false reality with his continued lying.
The sad thing is that he’s only fooling himself. No one else who isn’t already drinking that flavor Kool Aid is buying his lies.
Have we had ONE commenter say “Gee, that BROB guy makes a great point?”
He’s the best advertisement we have to suggest that voters cast ballots for Republicans, ANY Republicans, this fall and in 2012.
R Boob is hallucinating after his latest long swig of leftist served kool-aid and is spewing for fun and funds Soros provided talking points. Oh yes doesn’t he claim he’s an ex-marine, terribly successful and resides in his luxury digs overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the Palos Vedes Peninsula in Laland as he he ceaselssly parrots Media Matters provided lies and threadbare lines from the national socialist and soviet marxist models for utopia.
Tell us the left’s lies and relentlessly repeat them rboob and we will all believe. Sorry the big lie methodology pproach only works with theboobs at the Soros funded DU (Dumbies Underground), the Huffandpuff Post, and Kos with their drug addled brain dead leftist audiences.
Rboob we all know how wonderful soviet medical care was and no thanks we do not want it.The only way the democorrupts socialists will retain control of Congress is if they play the martial law card and cancel November elections. Sane Democrats such as Pat Caddell, Cook, and most reently Greenurg have been warning the Barry, Harry, & Scary Politburo they are headed for an electoral disaster for months. The deaf and dumb of the dumbocrat party’s left such as Rboob prefer to continue imbibing Barry Sotero’s snake oil rather than political relaity.
Wow BRob, how many left wingers have “quit” since it’s becme obvious that Obama was a huge mistake?
