Iranian legislators on Sunday decided to not allow a visit from Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry (D-Mass.), according to Iranian media.
“Members of the Iranian parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee (a subcommittee of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission) voiced opposition to the request after studying the issue,” Hassan Ebrahimi, head of the committee, told the semi-official Fars News Agency.
This is surprising, because I would expect that the Iranians know that Kerry would leap at almost any deal they would offer in order to make himself look important on the international stage.
In his memoirs, however, Kerry will write about how he was greeted warmly by the Iranians and successfully negotiated a nuclear freeze deal that ultimately fell apart because of Bush.
What did he expect? He expected the Iranians to understand that he hates the U.S. as much as they do and welcome him with open arms. What Kerry doesn’t understand is that the Iranians don’t need his wife’s money and they don’t need him as a stooge. They already have plenty of their own.
I keep wondering why he’s running around, attempting to do Hillary’s job instead of his own as a Senator representing MA in Congress. Unless, of course, he’s visiting to extend MA health care to the Iranians.
How many times do these fools in DC need to get b*tchslapped around, before they realise that nobody takes them seriously??
They are like nats, annoying, but keep getting swatted away. What a sorry buch; in the meantime full speed ahead with the bomb.
Sherlock, you’re under the assumption that Iran is in a state of, “Peace” at the moment. The reality is Iran is moblizing their military forces and armor for warfare with Israel as this has been the very public agenda of the current President of Iran and the Surpreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s desires. As of now, the military is brutaly trying to silence the growing protests of its Citizens, but as the weapons being researched in Iran is nearing final stages it is very easy to see Iran attempting a first strike solution against Israel due to the History between the two nations let alone the whole area.
Iran doesn’t want diplomacy, never did as they view their nation as the rightful Rulers of the entire World. They have used every single sit down at talks to mislead and distract opponents in assuming there is the prospect of peace while furthering Iranian Government agendas and weapons research. If the Clinton or Bush talks over the past two decades had worked, Iran wouldn’t be testing missle platforms capable of hitting France. The long range weapons being researched by Iran and tested recently violate a serious (can not find the propper Resolution numbers) of U.N. peace keeping resolutions for that reigon to prevent a repeat of the infamous Six Day War of 1967, yet U.N. has proven to be spineless as they were with U.N. Resolution 1441 with Iraq and have allowed the problem to fester and grow. Israel is known for taking direct physical action first against Enemies moblizing for war against Israel and it is in Iran’s political and military interests to prevent Israel from making the first offense hence why there have been, “talks” in the past.
Now, as their weapons are coming to fruition and their military sharpening their skills on their own citizens the Iranian Government has no more needs for diplomacy farces and as such no need for appeasers such as Kerry or Obama. History is repeating itself, and we are on the tipping point of a third Global War and yet the United States of America has a President and a House of Congress who consumes the appeasement policies of Neville Chamberlain and have given a shallow move to alienate Israel while trying to butter up Iran. This form of backstabbing to a long time ally will have drastic political fallout domesticaly in the United States, especialy when Iran does attack (not a matter of if, just when) Israel and American forgien targets in the reigon.
Why get the second banana when you can have the big cheese (sorry about the double food metaphor) ? I think Iran is merely waiting for O’s earlier promise of a sit down (no preconditions with anyone)?
