Dick Cheney is my hero.

Let ’em have it with both barrels, VP Cheney!

Cheney RULES! Man, I so wish more people could see the transcript
http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2009/10/cheneys_speech_tonight_1.asp#more

Having announced his Afghanistan strategy last March, President Obama now seems afraid to make a decision, and unable to provide his commander on the ground with the troops he needs to complete his mission.

President Obama has said he understands the stakes for America. When he announced his new strategy he couched the need to succeed in the starkest possible terms, saying, quote, “If the Afghan government falls to the Taliban – or allows al-Qaeda to go unchallenged – that country will again be a base for terrorists who want to kill as many of our people as they possibly can.” End quote.

Five months later, in August of this year, speaking at the VFW, the President made a promise to America’s armed forces. “I will give you a clear mission,” he said, “defined goals, and the equipment and support you need to get the job done. That’s my commitment to you.”

It’s time for President Obama to make good on his promise. The White House must stop dithering while America’s armed forces are in danger.

Obama=clueless. His message to troops: You gotta hope that the Taliban will go away.

btw, I love the fact that Cheney NAILS Rahm and says we kept things on the qt and gave you the benefit of the doubt and of trust. omg, NAILED NAILED NAILED

Preach-on brother Cheney!

I hope Obama resists his knee jerk reaction to retaliate and does the right thing, get our troops some help!

As far as Rahm, I bet he’s having a liberal blogger “go to meeting” as we speak to come up with a way to spin their way out of this one, we will know as the day goes on. Let’s see if Axelrod, Emanuel and Jarrett make the Sunday circuit again, they thought they pulled one over last week.

Cheney did what only Cheney can do, this country still needs him. What’s bad about it is they will go after his daughter even harder, but, like her dad, I’m sure she can handle it. It’s sure going to fill up lots of bandwidth with nonsense over at the out of touch liberal blogs.

Mr. Cheney has a better grasp on the real world than ALL the commie symps that slither around the WH-
t is past time that we hold Obama accountable for his actions and especially his mealy mouthed words. THE BUCK STOPS HERE. That should be spraypainted across his forehead in reverse, so that every time he looks in the mirror he is reminded that the blame goes no farther.
He sits in the seat, now he’d better damn well make some decisions, and if they are not decisions the American people agree with, his butt’s outta there in 2012- if we make it that long.
It seems a deliberate sabotage of this country and all we stand for, that Obama would do some of what he is doing, undermining the troops, putting obstacles in the way of economic recovery, and loading the “stimulus” package so it is timed to be spent in the election year of 2010-
That is political cynicism on an EPIC scale, one that completely disregards the welfare of the American people in a blatant bid to buy votes, and he needs to be called out on this.

cheney is the perfect man in the perfect position to deliver the message and defense….

obama needs to grow a spine.

Dick Cheney has more character in his fingernails than BHO and his entire band of Commissars.

“Useless Platitudes”, that is the slogan that best characterizes this, O’my what to do! Administration.

Useless Platitudes in everything except the government seizing control of business and our lives, castrating the military, neutralizing our prominence in the world, and implementing Progressive Marxism. Yes Obama can be serious about surrendering our sovereignty and wealth to the UN, but a war effort against Muslim Fanatics with the Lives of our young patriots on the line; we need to wait and see how this situation plays out in the court of world opinion before committing to a course of action.

Dick Chaney is an American Patriot and Liz is made from the same cloth.

Burn them down Cheney. Nothing says FU better than a poke in the eye with their own words and actions.

Where is the RNC?? Why are they not defending the Bush Admistration? A day late and a doller short as always.

Dick Cheney never retreats or takes prisoners, way to go. To bad that elected bunch in the House and Senate hasn’t the guts to do the same damned thing. We have way to many “medical wonders” no guts, no brains and no backbone in those places.

I added a link to the full video above and embed it here:

Also, a reminder that Dick Cheney’s daughter Liz has started a group called Keep America Safe:

http://www.keepamericasafe.com/

She was also on the Hannity show earlier this wee:

We can now draw comparisons between Obumble and Emperor Nero, who fiddled while Rome burned. I said it 2 years ago, 1 year ago and everyday since then…Obumble is not fit nor experienced to serve as POTUS…it should be painfully clear to every thinking American by now and, perhaps, to some non-thinkers, as well. He needs to resign so Uncle Joe can finish this pathetic excuse for term.

Jarhead68- I worry about Uncle Joe, and after him, Nancy – Either of them in charge is no better.
This is akin to sailing a boat made from wormy rotten wood- do not expect great or lasting security from a foundation so rotten.

Thank God for Dick Cheney! America was given a great gift on the day that Richard Cheney was born and we have frequently not appreciated how fortunate we have been to have him! The blithering idiots in the White House would do well to listen carefully to what this great and good man is saying to them and act (with due humility) accordingly in providing our troops with a firm and well reasoned game plan and the wherewithal to achieve it. To do otherwise is just a trifling thing for them to do.

Soldiers are dying in Afghanistan as Obama continues to vote “present” in his “War of Necessity”and all Politico sees is the warm and fuzzy kumbaya Afghanistan has bought to Democrats.

“Kabul’s still shaky, but Afghanistan has done one thing already for Washington power-sharing: gotten John Kerry and Hillary Clinton working together.”

http://dyn.politico.com/members/forums/thread.cfm?catid=1&subcatid=1&threadid=3190442&start=1&currentPage=1

Good God, what morons.

I’m gonna have T-shirts and bumper stickers made:

“I Miss Dick”

Let ‘them’ figure it out.

Plain and simple, each and every day Obama fidgets, fiddles and fondles himself like a freshman at his first high school dance is another day American kids die over there. My Dad had an expression ” S**t or get off the pot”. I think it’s applicable here.

Dr. John- the one thing Liberals can be united on is how fast they can find reverse- its like the French tanks- one forward gear, and five in reverse.

Thank God for Dick Cheney and George Bush!! They are heros of mine, as Barack Obama would never be President without Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney’s handling of our country!! The rejection of their policies by the voters turned the tide in favor of Obama and we owe them both a debt of thanks!! Everytime Cheney speaks out, it just reinforces the verdict rendered at the polls in November of 2008, the ultimate referendum and judgement of his policies, Go Dick Cheney, stop dithering and speak out more often, Barack Obama is truly grateful for your distractions while he enacts his policies with less focus on them and more focus on you.

As for listening to the Generals, look at this link:

I couldn’t have said it better myself…..

Moose: I couldn’t have said it better myself…..

Well now we know how low the bar is set….

I love it, mooseburger! I actually first read excerpts of this from that evil propaganda machine, FOX News.

Let’s cut and paste the whole thing:

Today, National Security Network Senior Adviser Gen. Paul Eaton (Ret.), who served more than 30 years in the United States Army and from 2003-2004 oversaw the training of the Iraqi military, responded to Dick Cheney’s accusations on Afghanistan from last night:

“The record is clear: Dick Cheney and the Bush administration were incompetent war fighters. They ignored Afghanistan for 7 years with a crude approach to counter-insurgency warfare best illustrated by: 1. Deny it. 2. Ignore it. 3. Bomb it. While our intelligence agencies called the region the greatest threat to America, the Bush White House under-resourced our military efforts, shifted attention to Iraq, and failed to bring to justice the masterminds of September 11.

“The only time Cheney and his cabal of foreign policy ‘experts’ have anything to say is when they feel compelled to protect this failed legacy. While President Obama is tasked with cleaning up the considerable mess they left behind, they continue to defend torture or rewrite a legacy of indifference on Afghanistan. Simply put, Mr. Cheney sees history throughout extremely myopic and partisan eyes.

“As one deeply invested in the Armed Forces of this country, I am grateful for the senior military commanders assigned to leading this fight and the men and women fighting on the ground. But I dismiss men like Cheney who inject partisan politics into the profound deliberations our Commander-in-Chief and commanders on the ground are having to develop a cohesive and comprehensive strategy, bringing to bear the economic and diplomatic as well as the military power, for Afghanistan — something Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld never did.

“No human endeavor can be as profound as sending a nation’s youth to war. I am very happy to see serious men and women working hard to get it right.”

Seriously…..you really “couldn’t have said it better”, yourself? You see no partisan rubbish in his statements?

And exactly who is this The National Security Network?

NSN is a progressive, non-profit foreign policy organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. that focuses on international relations, global affairs and national security. According to its mission statement, the National Security Network aims to “build a strong progressive national security and counter conservative spin.” Its founder, Rand Beers, was a Bush Administration counter-terrorism expert and is the former National Security Adviser to the John Kerry presidential campaign, 2004. Rand Beers resigned from NSN in 2009 to serve as Counselor to Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano. Among other things, the National Security Network acts as a resource for media outlets, releasing frequent opinion papers on a wide variety of foreign policy issues and engaging in rapid responses to current events. It also hosts the liberal global affairs blog Democracy Arsenal.

-He was fired (asked to resign) from the Bush admin in 2004, for leaking info to “certain” Democrat’s, who were not privy to such matters. His training of the Iraqis was so inept (It was his idea to have the Jordanians train the Iraqi cops), that he was removed from the position, and subsequently the Germans took over.

He is a traitorous, liberal, big-mouthed media whore, who sullies the uniform he once wore, and one of the ONLY military men whom the liberals find to quote. People like Bullwinkle actually get erections when they see his words in print. His ineptitude set the training of the Iraqis back over a year.

Nothing partisan about him at all here, now move along.

@mooseburger: @mooseburger: You’re an ASS!

When we get attacked again, as our economy stays in the toilet I expect to come back and remind our readers how much you love Obama.

Contrast that with the Bush years when we were kept safe after 9/11 and the stock market soared until the Democrat created housing bubble burst.

Go suck eggs Moose!

INRE the NSN fantasy world of news, they said:

“The record is clear: Dick Cheney and the Bush administration were incompetent war fighters. They ignored Afghanistan for 7 years with a crude approach to counter-insurgency warfare best illustrated by: 1. Deny it. 2. Ignore it. 3. Bomb it. While our intelligence agencies called the region the greatest threat to America, the Bush White House under-resourced our military efforts, shifted attention to Iraq, and failed to bring to justice the masterminds of September 11.

Wait, wouldn’t that be NATO’s incompetent war? Where they began taking over security for the majority of the country in 2003, and finished in June of 2006?

A little reminder for he-of-gnat-capacity-memory, Moose and his hero at NSN:

“This is not a American battle, this is a Nato mission,” Obama told reporters after the Oval Office meeting, which comes as he launches a series of intense talks on whether to send more US soldiers to the Afghan war.

“We are working actively and diligently to consult with Nato at every step of the way,” Obama said.

Eunuch in Chief, Barack Obama, September 2009

Amazing how throughout Senator and Candidate Obama’s career, Afghanistan was Bush’s fault for “dropping the ball”. Now that he’s POTUS, it suddenly becomes “NATO’s mission”.

Politics of convenience. And what does Gen. Eaton further say?

“As one deeply invested in the Armed Forces of this country, I am grateful for the senior military commanders assigned to leading this fight and the men and women fighting on the ground. But I dismiss men like Cheney who inject partisan politics into the profound deliberations our Commander-in-Chief and commanders on the ground are having to develop a cohesive and comprehensive strategy, bringing to bear the economic and diplomatic as well as the military power, for Afghanistan — something Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld never did.

Really, Gen. Eaton? Where were you when Candidate Obama and his merry band of liberal compadres were doing exactly just that for years over both Iraq and Afghanistan? And how does Eaton’s current statements differentiate him from that of which he accuses Cheney… the 2nd in command of the military at the time?

Appointees of convenience. feh…

Aaahhh, Moose- you are no different than the trolls that inhabit my blogsite- pompous asses who have their head firmly stuck in O’bama’s butt. You all sit around in somebody’s mother’s basement, eating hot pockets and reciting your liberal words- “howler” is rather overused, but you all continue to use it as if you were one insane blogger high on meth, going from blog to blog to insert your “feces of wis-dumb”- and you truly have no real clue- that is the truly pathetic part.
That is why I pity people like you- in a world where survival depended on swift, correct action, you would be dead quickly. It is only because we are a compassionate society that slow people are coddled and allowed to survive. Thank your lucky stars you live in the here and now- 100 years ago, someone would have shot you.

My first comment is stuck in spam….

Blake: I thank my lucky stars that I live in America today, where we can disagree openly.
Of course many here will diss the good General for his comments, but he is entitled to them, he has served our country in the Military, and many do agree with him. Don’t pity me old buddy, and as for gettin’ shot….you just never know how smart some dumb appearing folks are, or who’s packin’ heat and is ready to use it for personal defense when called for…..your pity is wasted, spend it folks who need it, not me. Perhaps you are projecting onto other what you deep inside feel about yourself. You go for the personal attack, at least Mata has some arguments to present.

Mata: As a candidate, Obama was not only running against McCain/Palin, he was running against Bush, as was the Republican party at the time. Fact is, Bush set the mission in Afghanistan, and he bears responsibility for the war during the 7 years he was President during his tenure of that war. Obama is going to be held responsible now, so, as Bush always said, let history be the judge. I’m willing to not condemn the President at this stage of his administration. Most who are against him now were never for him anyway, so, this is one reason that the critics don’t get much traction outside of Right Wing blogs and Fox news. Wolf, Wolf, Wolf! The magic that being called a Socialist, pallin’ with terrorists, and so on did for the Republican party has worn off from over use.

Mike: I am sure many Conservatives are praying bad things will happen to America to pin on Obama. Sorry to hear your one of them. You said:

“When we get attacked again, as our economy stays in the toilet I expect to come back and remind our readers how much you love Obama.”

That seems to be the whole crux of the Conservative strategy, hope for failure. Best of luck.
Obama has already made it farther into his administration Than Bush did without an attack that cost 3000 Americans lives, so other than that one attack, yes, Bush kept us safe, just lets forget Bush was in charge then, it is all and always the Democrats fault, right Mike?

Moose: As a candidate, Obama was not only running against McCain/Palin, he was running against Bush, as was the Republican party at the time. Fact is, Bush set the mission in Afghanistan, and he bears responsibility for the war during the 7 years he was President during his tenure of that war.

ah yes. The ol’ “say anything to get elected” argument is posed.

So you’re saying that Bush bears responsibility for the NATO determined mission, but now that Obama is POTUS/CiC, he bears *no* responsibility for that same NATO mission. It’s okay for him to continue to blame Bush, yet fingerpoint elsewhere to sidestep his responsibility for his “new strategy”.

You speak with forked tongue, and blindly apply a different level of accountability from one CiC to the other.

Anything you care to add to “the won’s” stated refusal to commit to listening to his commanders on the ground, as he’s promised over and over? From the NYT’s article that formed the centerpiece of my post reference above…

The administration has made clear that Mr. Obama will not necessarily follow the advice of his generals in the same way Mr. Bush did, notably in the former president’s deference to Gen. David H. Petraeus, now the head of the Central Command, and that it does not want military leaders publicly pressing the commander in chief as they give their advice.

Then, of course, there’s Obama’s own webpage proclaiming “fact checks” on how often he’s promised to do just that.

Not even a slap on the wrist for that, eh?

Pathetic way to form political views, Moose.

I know why you respond Mata, but moose crap has become little more than a troll.

Afghanistan was mostly calm because Al-Q etc. had set their sites on the Iraq. When it became clear they had lost, they switched back to Afghanistan. On top of that we’ve come to find that our so-called-NATO-allies have done next to nothing and even worse, may have paid off the enemy in one case. It’s appoximately in the last year or so we’ve seen Al-Q and the Taliban make real gains. Yet that is all Bush’s fault? Riiiiiight. Even funnier is now that obama is making things worse, not only does he want us not to notice that, he wants us to think that ignoring our generals is a good thing! I bet moose crap screamed loudly about how Bush “ignored” his generals about Iraq…even though he didn’t.

moose- You state that the whole conservative philosophy is hope for failure- that would not even be close. Think of us as the guy in the back seat yelling that you are going to hit the tree- I am not hoping that you hit the tree, I am trying to warn you of a deadly situation. You are the one driving- do something.
After all, I am in this car also, and while I might or might not care if you die, I do value my life, and would not want you to hit that tree. Our survival depends on you not hitting the tree.
It looks as if you are bound and determined to hit the tree.
That is the true analogy to why conservatives won’t agree with you liberals.
It would be the death of our country.

Moose, Bush was not on the ballot.

And Whoops! Those Club GITMO Boys that Obama and Holder wanted ALL released are up to mischief again…

Another former Gitmo detainee killed in a shootout
http://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2009/10/another_former_gitmo.php#ixzz0UdQLDfGd

I just hope they are not holed up in Mooseburg because I’d be tempted to nuke the place.

As for the attack, I guess that would be 9/11 you’d be referring to- the same 9/11 that Clinton paved the way for with the famous “Gorelik Wall”, where intel agencies could not talk to each other because of orders of the Cigar in Chief- well, if 9/11 is Bush’s baby, and you are not counting demmie “run- over”, then the economy is all Nobummer’s- after all, like Bush, he is here and now- not to mention it was mainly the Liberal pukes who began this economic fiasco with the housing meltdown. ACORN, and all that, you know- Let’s just put the blame squarely where it should go- right on the probie.
He really should listen to Cheney- Cheney is Yoda- Barry is just a wookie here in the scheme of things- with really big ears.
