Obama And Reid Continue Secret Health Care Negotiations

Was it so long ago that Obama promised “no more secrecy?”

The Senate Finance Committee finally put their bill online (PDF). Printed out it comes to 1502 pages. That must be a record.

But the real story is that this 1502 page bill is nothing but a smokescreen behind which Obama and Senate Majority Leader Reid are hiding as they work in secret to craft the real bill that will voted on in the U.S. Senate. It may very well be that a “public option” which would lead to a federal takeover of health care could be in that bill. The public option is not in the Finance Committee bill but there is nothing which prevents Reid and Obama from putting in the final bill.

Does anyone remember this?

On June 22, 2007, at New Hampshire Community Technical College in Manchester, NH, then-Sen. Barack Obama said, “when I’m president, meetings where laws are written will be more open to the public. No more secrecy. That’s a commitment I’m going to make to you as president. No more secrecy.”

Listen to the cheering Obamatons as Obama declared “no more secrecy.” Are they even aware of what is going on now behind closed doors? Would they care? My guess is no on both counts.

Obama ran a campaign in which he presented himself as something new, something different. Not the same old Washington games. And yet, everywhere you look, from a stimulus bill loaded with pork to secret negotiations on health care it’s the same old liberal show we’ve all seen before.

The only “hope” here is Obama’s hope you don’t notice what a fraud and liar he is!
