After the inauguration the National Mall looks like his brother’s neighborhood in Kenya.

Folks, this was just the most incredible event you can possibly imagine! My camera is still in the truck but there are so many wonderful videos and pictures out there, take time to look at them and know that those who couldn’t be there were there with us in spirit.

And be proud of each other! Americans coming together can make a HUGE difference so be SILENT NO MORE!

Wonderful – just as I expected!

Wish I could have been there. I hate crowds but that was awesome. Congrats to those who showed up and kudos to leaving the place clean.

Silver, Malkin and Kibbe–

Mike, you’ve mentioned before you respect Nate Silver. Here’s his rundown on the numbers for the prostest on Saturday:

His conclusion:

This was not a small rally. It was also not, in comparison with something like the 2006 pro-immigration protests, a particularly large rally. It was a business-as-usual sort of rally. Mock the protesters at your peril: business as usual suddenly isn’t so good for Democrats these days, and the sentiments of the 70,000 people who marched on Washington surely mirror those of millions more sitting at home. They were done a disservice by being represented by a liar like Kibbe.

suek,

Please forgive me. I accidentally hit the delete button on your comment.

The only way I could salvage it was through copy/paste:

You’ve got it all wrong…

The libs at the inauguration were caring people who wanted to insure that there were jobs for many…obviously, the Conservatives just don’t care about other people’s jobs…!

Again, I apologize.

@herman: I don’t recall saying about Nate Silver one way or the other. Though it is clear whose side he is on and that should tell you something.

As for the idea that the crowd was only 70,000 that’s silly. By any measure the crowd was in the hundreds of thousands, perhaps a million or more.

I’ve been to a lot of DC events on the Mall, including several inaugurations and protests and followed these crowd estimates for many years. This protest was as big as any of them.

P.S. Did Nate debunk the Obama 2 million Inauguration crowd? Somehow I doubt it.
