Description of the picture:

These glowing filaments of interstellar gas are part of a larger spherical supernova remnant known as the Cygnus Loop or the Veil Nebula.

Looks like the government of Gordon Brown released a killer under suspect conditions to secure some scum for oil deals. In other words Col. Gaddafi[correct spelling optional] has pwnd Gordo Brown.

The first and most likely the only thing Obama can do that I will ever agree with:

He could not leave a comrade behind….Sgt. Jared C. Monti of Raynham, who braved fatal fire in Afghanistan, will receive the nation’s highest honor

Obama the Pretender, a man lacking the character worthy to bestow the CMH let alone serve selflessly will the Nations Highest Honor to a Man with Courage and Values.

God Speed SFC Monti!

I agree with Old Trooper. Just one minor exception…Please call it The Medal of Honor. the only thing Congress is involved with is that besides the chain of command recommendation, congress can also, through their constituintents, recommend it be bestowed. Please don’t take offence, it’s just that I have a hard time with politicians being in any way connected with this greatest honor.

Slatrat, agreed here on that. Tradition named it when Congress had a sense of humility and a sense of dignity. When Politicians knew that the preservation of Our Republic depended on actions committed by Patriots and not by Politicians or cheap rhetoric.

The Good SFC was a 10th Mountain Division Trooper at Ft. Drum prior to deployment. On 9.11.01 I was training their light Infantry guys and awaiting retirement. I trained them hard and they never complained. On receiving the news that we were at war, I withdrew my papers and got orders for Ft. Benning to get a mission together. Months later I took three teams from 5th Group from Ft. Campbell to support the 1/75th ABN in kicking in the door in Kandahar.

My last combat jump but in total darkness and as soon as we cleared an airfield C 130s delivered ammunition, grub (MREs) bottled water and 10th Mountain Troopers non stop and later the 1/506 ABN. The sky was clouded with aircraft bringing in America’s best. Memories.

We chased the Taliban to the border but Rumsfeld’s War on the cheap denied Us the revenge that we were seeking. Under the Magic Half Kenyan Communist I would have just retired and gone to the house. Obama can’t lead. Bush offered leadership but he was lacking a General George Marshall on staff. Or a General George Patton.

I am just One of Many that Served and am humbled by the actions of guys like SFC Monti and others that took the bull by the horns and Led by Example. An old Army tradition.

Selfless Service and Leadership… something that Obama knows nothing about.

I went to my first Tea Party event today in Union, MO, just outside of St. Louis. Many conservative folks showed up and so did 3 obammi supporters. With all the inadequate representation in the current government, this rally/protest gave me some real hope for the future. I will be attending more later this week.

Robert Kelly, do that and don’t ever quit the fight. When Citizens act responsibly and demand accountability from Elected Officials We All Win.

Off to Winter Range now and on horseback then campfire coffee, a star lit sky and looking after Gods dumbest but most tasty creations ever. Beef cattle.

Missy, oh good, glad you shared with others! Tim Hawkins is quite a funny guy. And he knows how to drive the point home with humor. But, now I can’t get the song out of my head! At least it’s a happy tune. :)

@SBSmith

I saw it the same way, (as an ink bottle and quill). Maybe it’s a message from the Founding Fathers to keep writing your Congress Critters, to fight against the social planning “change” agenda of Obama and this Congress.

(People who go to the trouble of writing and sending a letter get more attention and importance attributed to their correspondence than those who call or email.)
