A big salute to Glenn Beck on this one. He’s the guy who first sounded the alarm and got the ball rolling. I believe that this is just the beginning of a long process and that Beck will prove to be a 2009 version of Woodward and Bernstein.

Jones’ statement of resignation below the fold.
“I am resigning my post at the Council on Environmental Quality, effective today,” Jones said in a resignation letter released by the CEQ late Saturday.
“On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me. They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide,” he said.
“I have been inundated with calls — from across the political spectrum — urging me to ‘stay and fight,'” he continued. “But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future.
“It has been a great honor to serve my country and my President in this capacity. I thank everyone who has offered support and encouragement. I am proud to have been able to make a contribution to the clean energy future. I will continue to do so, in the months and years ahead.”
As the Tooth Fairy said on another thread, it’s hard to call it a “vicious smear campaign” when it’s the words from your own mouth that bring you down.
I am surprised Obama tossed him under the bus. So now, how about the next worst radical in the White House? When’s Obama going to divorce Michelle?
I have missed earlier appearances of David Horowitz on Fox but did catch him the other day on Beck speaking about the radical agenda of these thugs. Van Jones statement matches to the tee what Horowitz said: that the left always disguises their agenda as working for the underdog. Right-o Vanny. Straight out of the play book. It turns his statement into comedy. Keep it up Glen. Let’s see the rest of 0zer0’s Comrades exposed for who they are. Next up? Just a guess: Health Care Czar.
I am glad that he is OUT. Although I wonder what “Robert Gibbs said only that Jones “continues to work in the administration” really means.
Plus, I didn’t care for some of the racial profiling in some of his statements.
If I were to have said the same something similar about black males, I would have been painted a racist and God knows what else and there would have been cries for me to be tried on hate crimes or some such silliness.

he probably will still be in the background working with obama, just like the devil jeramiah wright. if anyone thinks that obama turns his back on the ones that propelled him to office, they are being naive. imho, i think wright still has obamba’s ear as well as tom daschel, this jones guy, etc. after all, they all think exactly the same and also have the same friends and agenda, they are just all getting together behind closed doors.

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh…….. This calls for a beer- A job well done, folks. I have been hammering on Jones for awhile now, and I am so gratified that he is gone. This is what is known as a good start- there are around ten or so “Czars” yet that need to go , and go quickly- so finish that beer, slap yourselves on the back, say “attaboy, and keep up with the good fight.

The real damage to Obama is that now people know what kind of radical Obama had hired; and who was responsible for hiding Van Jones’ terrible past? Now Obama, with almost no political capital left, polls dropping, and criticism hitting him hard from everywhere, himself is seen as a socialist-liberal-leftist-extremist hack due to fall very, very soon.

Also: Considering the “bigger picture”, could it be that Van Jones is simply a “whipping boy” for Obama? Recall that Obama is just as radically caustic as Van Jones, Obama as well as Van Jones was NOT vetted, and criticism has been falling especially hard on Obama now that voters realize the “hopy-changy” Obama was really referring to was COMMUNISM.
Question: Is Obama hoping you’ll see Van Jones as taking the fall for Obama? Or, (attention birthers) is Obama hoping you’ll now let off of Obama’s not qualified status?

I find it interesting that the loons on the far left when caught in their own radical racial ravings claim that someone is out to get them. You show them their writings, videos of their ravings, news clips of their stated beliefs and still they will not own up to their own espoused beliefs.
Do they just rant to specific audiences? Do they spew their hatred to closed meetings? Does it take a assembly of like minded bigots to bolster their egos? Like rats and cockroaches are they afraid of the light of truth?
Unfortunately, Van Jones is just like a cockroach. When you turn the lights on him, he has to go scurrying back into a dark corner. But that does not mean that he will not continue to spread disease and filth; he will still be a problem, just less visible.
This is just more evidence, if anybody needs it, for the sort of far left winger we have squatting in the White House today. If any other president, Dem or Rep, had brought in as advisers the sort of people Zero is bringing, the country would have been up in arms. So we should be now. He is gathering people around him who think as he does. Let everyone understand that what we are seeing here is a self-portrait of Zero as he chooses his advisers.
Dems like Howard Dean are still defending him. Apparently, When filling out the questionnaire for the czar position, there’s the part that asks had he done/signed anything that might embarrass the Administration in the future. Apparently, he wrote down and mentioned the 9/11 Truther statement signing. Yet apparently no one in the Administration batted an eye enough to disqualify him on that basis. The question is meant to screen out loons; but impossible to do when being vetted by loons.
Dems have a big problem when they can’t anticipate why anyone in the mainstream let alone on the right would see anything questionable in Van Jones’ character. That’s because so many on the left agree with Van Jones’ world view. So they are blind to anything questionable about him, and baffled with “Well, what’s the big deal?”
Ok, now I’m hearing the questionnaire wasn’t given to Van Jones at all. Anyone got any relevant links?

I have immense respect for Beck not backing down when Jones’ Color of Change goods started harassing Fox news advertisers. He was taking a pretty big risk.
