What a load of garbage all this Kennedy stuff is!! I hope Mary Jo sends a note DOWN to him!! As far as the obamacare loser taking on new life due to the death of this guy, more than a load of garbage. It’s pure politics and purely wrong. Let’s vote this turkey down on the merits vs. some Democrat trumped up wet dream about Teddy.

I disagree,,, this is NOT a passing of a great man…
This is a passing of a socialist, murdering POS…
The media, the “MSM” libtards will treat his passing like Jesus died due to the fact that they love his agenda..

Except for JFK, whose agenda was more moderate than any dimocrap the whole family stinks to high heaven…
I do not envy their wealth, I envy nothing about any of them. They are a bunch of socialist losers…
I think the granddad made a deal with the devil and it’s about to come full circle…
Screw the Kennedy family and everone like them… socialist, better than us,, know what is best for us POS assholes…
Good ridance to bad rubbish….

You are in error, Mr. Mike’s A. The Kennedy dynasty or “great lights” are not “gone”. Instead, the remaining clan is no longer elevated to royalty by the nation. Oddly enough, I suspect that Ted’s own behavior helped them tumble off their pedestal.

It has been said too many times that he never lived up to his potential, that he will forever be overshadowed by his two brothers. I disagree. Given the limited time that fate would allow them, their legacies are decidedly eclipsed by their little brother’s. As John Meacham said this morning on the Morning Joe program, “He certainly belongs in the company of Henry Clay and Daniel Webster.” As legislators, Jack and Bobby aren’t even in Teddy’s league. It’s not even close.

So many “red state Americans” who regarded him with suspicion if not outright hatred, will probably never even realize how much they owe Senator Kennedy. It’s kind of sad that a lot of the people Kennedy worked the hardest for despised him with a passion born of decades of anti-Kennedy propaganda. Nothing was handier for a Republican running in a conservative district than the image of Bogeyman Ted in a campaign ad. It usually worked.

TEDDY KENNEDY’S GONNA GET’CHA IF YA DON’T WATCH OUT!

I wonder how these people would react if tomorrow – just for a day, mind you – every law Teddy Kennedy is responsible for were made null and void. Call it a hunch but I have a strong feeling that more people than you might suspect are going to miss him now that he’s gone.

Teddy, they hardly knew ye!

We’re a better country because for seventy-seven years Teddy Kennedy walked amongst us. His impact on the country he loved so much will be felt for generations. The loss his passing means to progressive politics in the United States is incalculable. We need him at this moment in history more than we ever needed him before. It’s so unspeakably sad. He’s gone and he’s not coming back. Now he belongs to the ages.

In the good old Irish Catholic tradition, tonight I’ll be drinking a toast or two (or twelve) to you, Ted. Sleep well and thanks.

A very fair post. Thank you. I do think they should name any legislation, if it is passed, after him . Personally, I see it as a renewal for fighting for what he championed, – but I understand why you object to the rhetoric and see it as a politicalization. But your fairminded post of the man, although I’m certain you were rarely if ever on the same page with him politically, is much appreciated by me.

Could you fish me out again, please?

Cary, let’s see if we can work on this spamnation thing.

Are you signed in when you are posting?

It’s really a shame the Dems won’t let the man rest in peace:

@Aye Chihuahua:

My name , email, URL are there already when I post, and I believe I did register – so I thought the answer would be yes. Perhaps not. I’ve gotta run to work for a day ballgame now, but I’ll check when I get back home. Thanks.

@Cary:

Try de-linking the URL and let’s see if that makes a difference. (That’s just a hunch on my part.)

You can also try going through the “Identificate” process (the button is at the bottom of the screen).

@Aye Chihuahua:

Alright, thanks. I’m zipping out the door now, but will give a shot later.

Who are you and what have you done with Mike? Nice post.

@Fit fit: It should be clear to all that I in no way endorse or approve of the late Senator’s politics or some of his personal conduct. But unlike most Dems, I do not feel that now is the time for politics so I am able to put my disagreements and disapproval for Kennedy aside.

However, that does NOT oblige me to stand down in my opposition to the Dem’s health scare plans. No matter whose name they put at the top of the bill.

And so the socialist-left in our country, including Obama, will rename the Obama health plan to include what they believe is a bonus; calling it maybe the Obama-Kennedy health care plan.

What joy. This is certain to more quickly kill the Obama health care bill, which is already dying (favored by less than 43% of Americans and falling), by the obviously shameful association of the Ted Kennedy name with Chappaquiddick.

New name for Obamacare now Chappaquiddick-care. You need healthcare and the Obamaites turn and run away leaving you to die. In honor of Ted Kennedy????

Ted Kennedy: Chappaquiddick Incident
Senator Edward Kennedy’s name will be forever blighted by the incident at Chappaquiddick Island where an aide to his brother died in his car.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/6094161/Ted-Kennedy-Chappaquiddick-Incident.html.

How appropriate for the always forever misguided socialist Barrack Hussein Obama and his communist minions.

In 1969, on one of his infamous junkets to “the island” (Martha’s Vineyard and Chappaquiddick), Kennedy’s moral lapse would cost a young staffer her life, and would cost him any chance of becoming president.

On the night of 18 July, Kennedy left a party with an attractive young intern en route to a private secluded beach on the far side of Dike Bridge. Kennedy lost control on the single-lane bridge and his vehicle overturned in the shallow tidal water. (Note: I drove across this bridge in a large 4×4 truck a few years after this incident, and it was not difficult to keep it out of the water — but then, I was not intoxicated.)

Kennedy freed himself from the vehicle leaving his passenger, 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne to suffocate in an air pocket inside the overturned car. After resting at the water’s edge, he walked back to the party house, and one of his political hacks took him back to his hotel.
Mary Jo Kopechne

Nine hours later, after sobering up and conferring with political advisors and lawyers, Kennedy called authorities to report the incident. Kopechne’s body had already been discovered.

With the help of Father Joe’s connections, Kennedy was charged only with leaving the scene of an accident. In his testimony, he claimed, “I almost tossed and turned… I had not given up hope all night long that, by some miracle, Mary Jo would have escaped from the car.” He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to serve two months in jail — sentence suspended.

With Joan, his pregnant wife of 10 years, and their three children by his side, he claimed that charges of “immoral conduct and drunk driving” were false and he was promptly re-elected to his second full Senate term with a landslide 62 percent of the vote. However, his responsibility for the death of Kopechne would all but disqualify him from ever holding national office. Indeed, the moral composure of the nation differs significantly from that of his Massachusetts supporters and defenders.

Celebrate That!

@Aye Chihuahua:

I’ve done everything you suggested, to no avail. My hunch is that after my computer broke down, I replaced it with an Eee PC which runs on a Lixus system without flash, which could be why I get it more than most. Guess I gotta deal. Thanks for trying.

Don’t kid yourself. Kennedy would be in total agreement to using his name to mover forward their agenda. He was more to the left of most of them…maybe not Obama though.

Doesn’t it tell you something about the dems. Their two recently deceased “heros” were a murderer and a pedaphile. The bad part is they don’t try to hide it but brag about it. And they don’t see the irony. Liberalism is truly a mental disorder.

Maybe if they name it after him, this misguided legislation will die too.
