Don’t believe this for one half of a millisecond – that “public option” can go right straight back into the final version of any health care bill during the reconciliation of the House and Senate versions.

What a joke, between the insurance companies and politicians getting money from the insurance companies, these poor people out there that have no insurance and the ones that have lost jobs and will shortly be without insurance, will be up a creek, we have to have a reform on insurance now not later. This isn’t rocket science people, all these people will be on public aid everytime they need health care and you and I will be paying for it, so whats the difference, we need to get these insurance co to lower there prices so they are affordable for everyone, not just some. Were being lied to and not by our president, wake up out there, scare tactics, have you ever heard of that.

With a vast majority of Americans saying that they are quite satisfied with their health plans as is, there really is no reason to trash the greatest medical system in the world — or trade it for a second rate socialist scam. Currently the continuing protests against Obama Hellcare are hot, furious, and demanding; so much so that at first the Demorats said there was no “end-of-life” (or death panels) provision in the Demorat proposed health bill, then the same Democraps proceeded to drop the provision.

Now they are dropping the single-payer option, which means the government will not be going into the health care business as the U.S. Post Office or Amtrack. Obama keeps saying that leaving the system unreformed will be costly; but the question is, what would Obamacare have cost? Obama doesn’t know or won’t say. It probably would have cost America anywhere from 3 trillion dollars or much, much more. Taxation for socialist health care would have been overwhelming.

Every doctor I know discusses living wills and care orders with his older patients – and I know hundreds of doctors. They don’t need some mandate.

That $8 an hour job at WalMart carries health insurance as good or better than what you can get through many other private companies – and a whole lot of the plans offered by the federal government.

There are ALWAYS chocies – unless the government is allowed to take over the medical system in this country, in which case we will all get hurry up and wait, one size fits all “medicine.”

Realize that older citizens, many of who have been paying medicare and medical “premiums” for 30, 40 or 50 years are getting no free-bee. They paid, though their hard work, every payday of their lives while they worked, money into a system that, through nothing they have done, is dysfunctional. They paid week after week, month after month, year after year, for their “policy”. The greed in this country, or mismanagement at best, has made government-run systems nothing more than high-class ponzi schemes.

We are not, NOT, “helping” the elderly, disabled or handicapped. They are ENTITLED to what they paid for; good quality medial care and sustenance at retirement. Define it any other way and Social Security and Medicare both become a frauds.

We have the greatest medical care system (quality of care and medical technology – no emergency is turned down) that is far superior than in any other country in the world. What we need is competition. Not the kind that Obama and Democraps want. They are in bed with the DRUG companies and have sold out the American people for a “profit”. Drug companies were poised to earn billions under the now dropped government (socialist-Obama) health care plan. Under the plan, there would not have been any competition.

A government-run health care system would NOT get lower prices. And, the DRUG companies were willing to bet on that — to the tune of at least 500 million dollars.

Real competition can only be achieved by allowing for more medical professionals, both doctors and PA (Physician assistants) and nurses, more (smaller if necessary) clinics and hospitals, and the engendering of more competition among drug companies — encourage the establishment, though tax incentives, of more, many more, drug companies. That is the only way to really lower prices though competition (sounds Capitalistic … great).

I supported the proposed health care plan UNTIL I learned that there would be no extra hospitals or clinics — a “prescription” for lowered quality care, longer waits, and bureaucratic control; which would have necessitated end-of-life counseling to reduce the number of patients.

When I realized that the government would control the quality and distribution of health care at its option, I immediately dropped my support for any “reform” to our health care.

Obama said that it would have been scary if health care in American were not “reformed”. I say Obama is scary and health care in American is just fine the way it is, thank you.

Its not about govt taking over our medical system, its about insurance companies screwing people when they need them.

Such conditions didn’t exist before the 1960’s, as the their was no mass immigration and waiting periods. In America today and since the newest waves of legal and illegal immigration, costs to medicate these people have sky rocketed who have never paid one penny into the system. Each previous government never have restricted immigration, but allowed taxpayers to pay for their health care and welfare benefits. Each year approximately 1.5 million new immigrants are granted work visas and many become public charges.

Now Obama is insisting on yet another AMNESTY, which will be even costlier to the American taxpayers, so says the Heritage foundation. American taxpayers should not have to subsidize US businesses, which has been happening for years? A large majority of pariah corporate executives, do not want any restrictions on foreign national workers, that is why they have tried to kill a mandated E-Verify identity data base, to extract all illegal immigrants from the working environment.

That SANCTUARY STATES like California must rescind illegal immigrant refuge policies. That President Obama’s health care renewal plan—WILL–attract millions more impoverished people from around the world. That they can join with the 20 plus million already here, to get free medical care under the Democrats law now passing through Congress.

Seniors are REQUIRED to sign up for Medicare if they wish to collect their Social Security checks.

and just to let you know, come to my hospital for outpatient test, no insurance, no money, no service, got that, inpatient and er differnet laws.

You’re a paper pusher in an outpatient clinic so your “I don’t care if your dying or what” claim is nothing more than a delusion of grandeur.

No one is guaranteed the right to go to your outpatient facility for any sort of treatment.

If you want treatment, then it has to be paid for either out of the pocket of the patient or out of the pocket of that person’s insurer.

It’s not the job of the gov’t to provide anyone with money for health care. In fact, the whole idea is unconstitutional.

aye maybe you should read up, medicare part a is free to all seniors, which takes all hospitals stays, part b is for outpatient and drs. why are you making up such bs.

Hospital Worker, Medicare is absolutely NOT free to any senior at all. They pay a base amount per month, taken out of their social security checks, for Part A (which covers only hospital admissions and has an $800 out of pocket deductible) and then further amounts (some of which can vary) for the other Medicare B, D, etc.

Let’s see if we can go slow for her/him. Look at your every paycheck. FICA taxes? Know what they are all about? That’s SS and Medicare tax collections. Let me translate…. if you started working from 1965 and on, you have had 1.45% (as of today’s withholding rate) held back from you for Medicare tax contribution alone. Under 65? Well, you’ve been paying into Medicare to the tune of 1.45% of your gross pay since you’ve been working… yet you are paying for insurance you cannot obtain unless you are old enough, or disabled. Do you think your contribution is sitting in a lock box somewhere with your name on it, waiting for you? Of course not. In fact, even sucking money out of you today, and everyone else, they still can’t support the Medicare enrollees. What does that tell you of govt money management?

I’ve been working since it’s inception. The government has been taking cash out of me for this retirement insurance since day one. Free? Nope… I’ve already paid for it, and will continue to pay if I want Parts B and D. Or I can opt for Part C (Medicare Advantage). But despite the fact I’ve been paying all my working life, I will still continue to pay after retirement for anything but the basics.

And speaking of the basics on Medicare A, there is still a deductible (at this time $1096) for the covered period. It doesn’t cover everything, which is why there are Parts B, C and D.

Aye, on the estate recovery, I believe that is confined to Medicaid and not Medicare. Which seems oxymoronic itself as those who qualify for Medicaid have very little “estate” from which to recover costs. However, I would like to see anything that says it’s also applied to Medicare. I could be wrong on this.

I will say that if you opt out of Medicare at age 65, and therefore have to forfeit your SS, any retirement SS funds you received for prior periods MUST be paid back. The gov’t taketh away, doles back out in pittance, then taketh away again. There is no public option that is acceptable. The only reason I’d go into Medicare is because I’ve already paid for it all my life, and they won’t give me my money back.
