They got their 30 pieces of silver. The rest of us will be crucified!

The “Blue Dogs” in the House Democrat caucus caved in to pressure today and signaled they would no longer block health care “reform” legislation from moving forward. Their price? $100 billion in cuts from a bill set to cost a $trillion and up.

As Gomer Pyle used to say: “Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!”

There were a few other changes in the bill which while welcome, do not overcome the fact that this will be another massive intrusion by the federal government into health care and it will accelerate the financial collapse of Medicare and Medicaid.

The one good point in today’s agreement is that no vote will take place until Congress reconvenes in September. That will give Americans time to understand how dangerous even this watered down Democrat bill is.

My fear is that the majority of voters will be so relieved that the original socialist makeover of health care was defeated that they will be ready to accept the socialist-lite version which is hardly an improvement.

well $900 billion in new debt sounds a lot better than a trillion in new debt. It sort of gets lost in the debt pile anyway doesn’t it?

Blue dogs, Democrats first, Americans second.

They’re cowards, but they’re not even smart cowards. Smart cowards would know to fear their constituents more than the fear the Democrat leadership. We can only hope that the American people wake up and vote out all of those Congressmen who vote for this horrendous bill.

All Snowe and Spectre got for their porkulus concerns was 60 billion in ‘cuts’ in three years. So we should be thankful that the Blue Dogs got forty billion dollar bonus over an additional seven year period. Who says the democraps don’t look out for the little people?
Anyway, the one trillion dollar deficit is the low ball figure. If this bill comes in at less than three trillion dollars in additional deficit spending it will be a miracle. I hope the blue dogs vote for this monstrosity and get an earful when they go home to their constituents. Just like the Hillarycare blue dog democraps did in 1993.

Don’t know if this info is correct, but if action will help, then ACT!

The point is that although I don’t know if this is a fact, I believe it.

On the plus side, this should give us a specific bill to tear into, ending the bob and weave special of “there is no one specific bill”.

First place to start is examining the magic savings of 100 billion. Is this another unicorn dung special like the two claims the CBO tore apart? Liberals SAYING they have cut 100 billion doesn’t mean they have actually cut anything at all.

Like the McCaskill meeting, the tea parties need to get “in their faces”

And this “socialist lite” thuggery was the real goal all along. Had they radical left gotten it all, fine and dandy. But these criminals were quite ready to accept this grotesque FOOT IN THE DOOR as the first step in the complete takeover of our liberty.

Good point DaMav.
I was going to buy a Bugatti Veyron, but bought a Lamborghini instead. I saved $700,000! That seems to be the “thinking” here. To make it worse, we are broke. Less deficit spending than planned is still deficit spending!!
