Obama – “Eh, Who Needs To Follow The Constitution”

With all the wailing about Bush supposedly doing things his own way and not by the rule of law I wonder if those same people will have a problem with this: (h/t Hot Air)

With the clock running out on a new US-Russian arms treaty before the previous Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, or START, expires on December 5, a senior White House official said Sunday said that the difficulty of the task might mean temporarily bypassing the Senate’s constitutional role in ratifying treaties by enforcing certain aspects of a new deal on an executive levels and a “provisional basis” until the Senate ratifies the treaty.

“The most ideal situation would be to finish it in time that it could be submitted to the Senate so that it can be ratified,” said White House Coordinator for Weapons of Mass Destruction, Security and Arms Control Gary Samore. “If we’re not able to do that, we’ll have to look at arrangements to continue some of the inspection provisions, keep them enforced in a provisional basis, while the Senate considers the treaty.”

Samore said administration lawyers are exploring the “different options that are available. One option is that both sides could agree to continue the inspections by executive agreement; that would work on our side. On the Russian side, as I understand it, that would require Duma approval.”

The fact that the administration is preparing for such an extraordinary measure shows just how much pressure the two administrations are under to arrive at an agreement before the 18-year-old treaty expires.

Eh, whats consulting with the Senate have to do with anything right?

Just Article II, Section 2 of our Constitution.

Meanwhile Russia is telling Obama he needs to dump Star Wars or they walk. What’s the odds Obama will capitulate?

Oh Harry Reid and the rest of his covey of Democratic Senators will not like Barry trying to steal their power. Who has the popcorn as Robert Byrd rises from his hospital bed, pulls out his pocket Constitution, and starts making noises of impeachment.

BS!!! The dems amy not like BO “stealing” their power… but, they are giving it away! Voting for bills crammed with crap that is going to damage us FOR-FEEKIN-EVER without even reading it… They need to STFU!!!

Impeach them all! They promised to uphold teh Constitution, and I’m still waiting to see one instance since the coronation where that has happened!

Another reason for TERM LIMITS!!!

Bypassing the Constitution is exactly what led to the lawful removal of the Honduran President.
I’m not ready to call for similar action in this case. Yet.

Gee, I would’ve expected more from a “constitutional expert” such as Obama.

“With all the wailing about Bush supposedly doing things his own way and not by the rule of law I wonder if those same people will have a problem with this”

Ah, but that was different… for certain reasons… reasons no one must talk about… ever… forever. Yeah…

What? That’s the kind of thought process those who condemned Bush for something, but let Obama off the hook for the same thing. Ain’t that right, Wanda “I hate people like Republicans for opposing gay marriage, but I’m not gonna mouth off to the similarly-minded Obama” Skyes? (Obviously, though, she didn’t say that quote… because it contains words that have multiple syllables. Hey, if people like Wanda didn’t want me to mock them, they wouldn’t act so damn stupid all the time.)

“Meanwhile Russia is telling Obama he needs to dump Star Wars or they walk. What’s the odds Obama will capitulate?”

“Obama?” “Capitulate?” Can these words possibly go together? That’s like lumping words like “Reid” and “unpatriotic”, or “Pelosi” and “incompetent” together.

“Bypassing the Constitution is exactly what led to the lawful removal of the Honduran President.”

Shhh! Don’t go brining facts like that into the situation. They’re upsetting to clueless people like Obama.

Pffft! Constitution? Birth Certificate?

“The Obama Administration is the Most Fiscally Irresponsible in the History of the U.S.”

That comes from a paragraph of Kevin Hassett’s at Bloomburg:

The federal picture is so bleak because the Obama administration is the most fiscally irresponsible in the history of the U.S. I would imagine that he would be the intergalactic champion as well, if we could gather the data on deficits on other worlds. Obama has taken George W. Bush’s inattention to deficits and elevated it to an art form.

The Obama administration has no shame, and is willing to abandon reason altogether to achieve its short-term political goals. Ronald Reagan ran up big deficits in part because he believed that his tax cuts would produce economic growth, and ultimately pay for themselves. He may well have been excessively optimistic about the merits of tax cuts, but at least he had a story.

Obama has no story. Nobody believes that his unprecedented expansion of the welfare state will lead to enough economic growth. Nobody believes that it will pay for itself. Everyone understands that higher spending today begets higher spending tomorrow. That means that his economic strategy simply doesn’t add up.

Nothing President Obama has done adds up. Not his economic strategy, nor his domestic policy, nor his foreign policy.

Just an eighth of the way through his presidency Barack Obama appears to be the most dangerously incompetent man to have ever held the office, doing more long-term damage to this nation than any foreign invader could have ever dreamed. That he has another 3 1/2 years in office ahead of him, and an equally radical coalition of far left activists in Congress until at least 2010, is disheartening, to say the least.

That just about sums it up for me as well.

Another Jimmy Carter memorium, PEBO is revisiting the SALT treaty with a different name, just like Carter did and the Russians never abided by even before they signed the paper. But wait, its new and approved, now they dont need those pesky consitutional impediments.

From Curt’s link:

While praising Mr Medvedev, the US President described Mr Putin as a man “with one foot in the past” who did not appear to understand that the Cold War was over.

Analysts said the approach suggested that Mr Obama believed that there were divisions between the two Russians that could be exploited, a controversial interpretation in the view of those observers who believe report of a rift between the two men had largely been exaggerated.

Idiot! Medvedev is Putin’s puppet. They are playing him and he’s to stupid to know it.

During the press conference after the signing ceremony Obama also made a point of mentioning his trust for his new friend Dimitry. Now missle defense was taken off the table by….his new friend, the one without “one foot in the past.”

Do we have to wonder if Putin had anything to do with that? The manchild is an embarrassment, no wonder his team is thinking of bypassing the Senate.

It gets worse, but, we have an answer, he’s a sell out, stupid one at that. This from today’s American Thinker:

Today, from the group Stratfor, comes this stunning offer to Iran from President Obama:

“U.S. President Barack Obama said July 7 that if Iran stops its nuclear weapon development program, the U.S, has no reason to develop a missile defense system, Interfax reported. Obama was speaking at the Russian School of Economics in Moscow.”
