The weather was perfect, with a moving tribute to Lou Gehrig. Then they brought out wounded military veterans to stand at home plate, and the entire crowd cheered wildly. The very next play was Johnny Damon, who greatly supports the Wounded Warrior Project, hitting a home run! And the NY Yankees finally beat Toronto in the 12th inning! Perfect way to spend America's birthday! I think this year will be more significant to me than most years, and am feeling more hopeful lately of Americans waking up and realizing that our country is great because it was founded on freedom.
