Guess which side Obama is on?

Citizens of the small Central American country Honduras are getting tired of the bad rap they have taken by removing their President before he could declare a dicatorship. They’ve taken to the streets for the past few days eager to send us all a message about what is really happening.

A pictorial of their demonstrations contrasts with the image of communist inspired violence in the streets:

People demonstrate against ousted president Manuel Zelaya and in demand of peace and democracy, at Morazan Square in central Tegucigalpa, on June 30, 2009. Tensions were running high in Honduras Tuesday with new street protests planned as deposed Zelaya vowed to return only days after being ousted in an army-backed coup.

The poster reads, “Yes to democracy, not to dictatorship of Chavez”.

A woman holds a sign reading: “We are happy Mel. Do not come back.”

Contrast the above with this:

A demonstrator throws a Molotov cocktail during clashes between supporters of ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya and armed forces in Tegucigalpa on June 29, 2009.

And if you want to know who is behind the violence, here’s a clue:

Photobucket

A demonstrator holds a banner of the late Argentine-born revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara during a show of support for ousted Honduras President Manuel Zelaya outside the Ministry of Foreign Relations in San Jose July 1, 2009.

Yep, the same old communist evil that has been directly responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands and the oppression of millions more thoughout Latin America.

Wonder if Zelaya also imported professional demonstrators from Venezuela, along with the illegal ballots?

But looking at the pics, the ol’ saying comes to mind… “which one would your rather have a beer with?” LOL

@MataHarley: I wouldn’t be too surprised if there weren’t some ACORN organizers in that pro-Zelaya crowd.

OUCH! The Martin Luther King signs should leave a sting for President “Zero.”

Assuming of course that he “can connect” with the works of MLK. Or maybe his socialist ways will override that.

LOL @ Mike’s America.
I wouldn’t be surprised if BHO flew them there.

So, how is this playing with Hispanic Americans? Will O’Bungler be wrongly perceived as a hero for interfering with a Latin American country to “restore democracy,” or will he rightly be seen as an enemy of freedom? That could affect the next election, considerably. I just hope the Latino Americans aren’t Chavez/Che supporting fools. If they aren’t against those monsters, but are more like the Arabs who run away from their slums to find freedom here, only to demand the type of governance that leads to repression, then we’re all screwed.

So, have we come to high crimes and misdemeanors yet? I’ll answer my own question…not with this congress.

Don’t forget there are Honduran immigrants here in the States. They know the truth and they know the U.S. media is not reporting it. I’m sure they will be happy to enlighten the other members of the U.S. Hispanic/Latino community. It will be interesting to follow the Hispanic vote during the mid-term elections now that BO is cozying up to dictators like Castro, Chavez and Morales while ignoring allies like Honduras and Columbia.

Although I’ve been in the United States to celebrate Independence Day with my family, I live in Central America (Costa Rica) and I can state that the other news outlets are echoing the MSM. None of the individual administrations are considering the supposed coup is actually a legal procedure provided for in the Honduran Constitution. There is a very good English on line news site that states the positions of the government fairly well at http://hondurasnews.com/ and a specific article http://hondurasnews.com/2009/07/02/what-happened-according-to-the-constitution/ that I believe has already been linked to here. There is also interesting news concerning Zelaya’s funds and his and the fact that they recovered thousands of dollars in garbage bags and drawers in his house after he was deported hondurasnews.com…

A note of interest is that most of the expatriates living in Central America are liberal so to find a news site that doesn’t promote the liberal agenda is extremely rare.

Expect the normal amount of trolls in the comments!

@Larry W: Thanks for that perspective from someone who actually LIVES in the region. It sure beats the opinions we get from the arm chair generals living in the U.S. who only know what to think after it is explained to them on CNN or MSNBC.
