Q: Why is Obama Afraid of Fox News

Posted by: Mike's America @ 9:06 pm in Uncategorized  | 275 views

A: It’s the only network willing to ask him tough questions!

People are starting to ask why Obama and many of his minions are afraid to appear on Fox News? Neil Cavuto raised the topic of Obama’s distaste for Fox News in this video:

Cavuto’s piece makes it clear that Obama’s view of Fox News is one that he has long held. Apparently, he seems to prefer networks which give him a pass on many of the tough questions.

On Tuesday, John Harwood of CNBC DID get an interview with Obama and he asked him about fawning media coverage in general. Obama’s answer led to another slam against Fox News:

Transcript: Obama On The Economy, Iran
John Harwood
CNBC.com
16 Jun 2009

HARWOOD: Last question. When you and I spoke in January, you said—I observed that you hadn’t gotten much bad press. You said it’s coming. Media critics would say not only has it not come, but that you have gotten such favorable press, either because of bias or because you’re good box office, that it’s hurting the country, because you’re not being sufficiently held accountable for your policies. Assess that.

Pres. OBAMA: It’s very hard for me to swallow that one. First of all, I’ve got one television station entirely devoted to attacking my administration. I mean, you know, that’s a pretty…

HARWOOD: I assume you’re talking about Fox.

Pres. OBAMA: Well, that’s a pretty big megaphone. And you’d be hard-pressed, if you watched the entire day, to find a positive story about me on that front. I think that, ultimately, my responsibility is to provide the best possible decision making on behalf of the American people at a time where we’ve got a lot of big problems. And, you know, we welcome people who are asking us some, you know, tough questions. And I think that I’ve been probably as accessible as any president in the first six months—press conferences, taking questions from reporters, being held accountable, being transparent about what it is that we’re trying to do. I think that, actually, the reason that people have been generally positive about what we’ve tried to do is they feel as if I’m available and willing to answer questions, and we haven’t been trying to hide them all…..

Yeah, so transparent that we don’t know how much your date night to New York cost. Or who authorized the Air Force One flyover which panicked New York or why you refuse to release the CIA memos which former Vice President Cheney claims show that waterboarding JUST THREE terrorists saved lives. But that’s another story.

Fox News THAT Threatening?

But is Fox News really that threatening to President Obama that he has to hide from them? Good grief, they are only a cable channel! Granted, they get more viewers than CNBC, MSNBC, CNN and CNN Headline News combined but Fox News is still only the 4th largest cable channel.

Nationwide there are more than 114.5 million television households. Of those, the overwhelming majority still get their news from the “Big Three” broadcast networks: ABC, NBC and CBS. NBC, which consistently leads network news ratings, is widely considered to be in the tank for Obama with questions being raised about it’s parent company General Electric’s plan to profit from Obama policy initiatives.

It’s pretty clear to critical Obama watchers that the man thinks that fawning “news” coverage of him is fair news coverage. Apparently facing tough, critical questions would be an affront to his oversized ego and hence, cannot be allowed.

Let’s face it: Obama is a coward!

Obama: ‘Those meanies at FOX keep trying to ask me tough questions.’

BWHAAAW!

I call it whining on Obama’s part. I watched those Bill O’Rielly interviews with Obama during the campaign, and IMO even O’Rielly treated him with kid-gloves. I expected tough questions, such as the leftist MSM was throwing at the Republicans, and Bill let us down big time.

All Obama does is this evasive nonanswer game, and NOBODY calls ever him on it. (Except for blogs like this one). Remembering the MSM treatment of Bill Clinton, I can’t say that I was surprised, but the reality of just how protective and mooney-eyed the press is with Obama is absolutely sickening.

Yes, FOX’s Neil (”No I’m not Eddie Munster”) Cavuto has asked some tough questions, but they are merely rhetorical because chicken-shit Obama will not let himself be questioned by FOX. (O’Rielly has a crew he uses but they seem pretty pathetic and unwilling to be as rude and tenatious as liberal reporters.)

The only FOX Anchor I would expect to even try to sneak-in a hard hitting reporter is Glen Beck. I think that FOX needs to get some real gung-ho journalists in their ‘On-Location” crews and into the White House press briefings to take up the slack for all the in-the-tank MSM watch-puppies.

Ditto: Ditto to your post. Fox is not all that fair and balanced. I especially take issue with criticisms by them to bho that are followed by ‘well Bush did it too’.

Hussein does not like free speech. I remember when President Bush was called Hitler and chimp plus all manner of other derisive names. His answer was always the same. Yes but we live in a country where we have free speech. We may not have free speech much longer.

Obama doesn’t give interviews he sits down for timed discussions. Here’s how I see it interviewers always start off with soft questions, Obama latches on to a soft topic and rambles on and on running out the clock sometimes changing the subject but always ending with the same not my fault theme “inherited mess, the former administartion, ….”

He’s the master of double talk – speak about a subject for 5 minutes and say virtually nothing substantial. I always get a kick out of his efforts to appear like he is really soul searching when he answers a question he clearly has no idea what he is talking about.

ABC Employees Contributed Overwhelmingly to Obama
By CPR Staff on June 18, 2009 10:41 AM
Interesting to Note…

An analysis of contributions to the Obama and McCain campaign shows that ABC employees contributed more than $160,000 to the Obama campaign versus less than $5,000 to the McCain campaign.

@Real American Patriot: seriously? Is that truth, or what you /believe/ about FOX? I personally try not to take my news from the major stations, mainly because they /all/ have a bias and something to sell. It takes someone that is extremely brainwashed to look at fox news, call it biased, and then look at CNN or MSNBC and say, ‘wow, that is real, unbiased, untainted, news’. Or worse, not say anything at all.

Its funny that no one on the left questions this… MSNBC/CNN etc all pounded Bush during his time as president. Not to mention the handful of other top news stations in our country. There is one (1) news station that speaks out about his policies and Obama snickers at them, calls them liars, and refuses to have anything to do with them. On top of that, all his other brainwashed minions carry his message forward.. just like you are doing. Maybe there need to be a mass unplugging of the People from the Matrix?

All hail Obama, all hail obama, all hail obama. All for the motherland. All hail obama, all hail obama, down with the traitors.

Mabe he protests because ;
– he was coddled in Chicago, and as US Senator has become very thin-skinned to criticism.
(Exampled of his tantrum on the senate floor last year with Joel Lieberman — after
after Lieberman dared to criticize BHO’s campaign stands on Israel.
– FOX dares to compare BHO’s actions versus his words
-FOX offers oppositional debate.
-FOx has dared to show BHO’s airbrushed “grey-hair” in the FDR template
-FOX pointed out his mustache in Cairo
-FOX has Charles Krauthammer offering political analysis almost every night
-FOX dares to show the most magnificent “Cszar of Communications” for the stumbling,
bumbling, kiss-ass that he is
-FOX dares to offer CBO numbers and various poll numbers
-FOX is investigating ACORN et al.
In essence,
He hates FOX NEWS because they do not fuel his “magic carpet ride.” What he IS DOING is fueling a growing opposition (including those who voted for him thinking he was a centrist.)

I don’t think it matters if he goes on FOX… the known FOX audience is growing substantialy. O’Reilly has recently pulled more audience than Ms Couric and sky is the limit….people ultimately
find their truth comfort level.

It is time that this child-like, thin-skinned man who occupies the Oval Office, grow-up and become a leader. Real leadership decisions should override popularity polls…and a leader does not sit and wait for an outcome to stand up” for American values.

This President professes to be Lincoln, JFK, FDR or whomever his fancy strikes — but like everything else around him, I wonder if he really knows what they actually stood for — if so, he should be embarassed of the act that has been scripted for him.

I predict a meltdown –ON AIR — as his numbers plummet. FOX NEWS should stay away and keep analysis going……on the real issues in the world while BHO tries to play media movie star.

And ABC, CBS, NBC & CNN are unbiased? They NEVER ask the president anything difficult. WHO in the past has had a place in the white house like ABC?

Hello? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

A bunch of Yahoos voted Obama in as President AND COMMANDER IN CHIEF. I told people that if he did win, that Iran and North Korea would really start up. WHY? Because generally speaking, the left is weak and will do everything they can to avoid war. They’d pimp out their mothers if they thought it would avoid confrontation and the weasels of the world know this.

“I’ll shake my finger at you again if you do that!!! You just wait. I have it read to shake at you…”

If Obama doesn’t have the spine/balls to go on a news station that might *OMG* ask him something difficult, then ….

HOW CAN I HAVE FAITH HE WILL STAND UP TO COUNTRIES LIKE NORTH KOREA?

OH and BTW –
Obama Job Approval Slips to 58% for First Time

I love the wording their too. What? They expect it to go back up? Seriously??? (And I don’t mean to to 59%)

You all should read this: http://ray-dox.blogspot.com/2006/06/this-is-expanded-version-of-article.html (Modern Leftism as Recycled Fascism)

It is a very interesting examination of Fascism. A few things that caught my eye:

Mussolini’s own summary of the Fascist philosophy: “Tutto nello Stato, niente al di fuori dello Stato, nulla contro lo Stato” (Everything in the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State)

“Mussolini ha sempre ragione (”Mussolini is always right”).” (Gee, who else is seen that way by the MSM?)

“He (Mussolini) was coming to the belief which was soon to dominate his life — that the existing order must be overthrown by an elite of revolutionaries acting in the name of the people”.

“There Mussolini was still following a distinctly radical line… He even welcomed the occupation of the factories” (Sound Familiar? GM for example?)

“Mussolini in March 1936 told the council of corporations that he did not wish to bureaucratize the entire economy of the nation but in practice the extension of government activities everywhere brought with it a top-heavy organization, slow and unresponsive, and quite out of touch with ordinary people”.

The major difference in policies is the obsession with “Globalism” within both major’ party leaders in Washington DC, over the Nationalism of Fascist Italy and German.

PS: Yes, President Bush was interviewed by MSNBC. At least twice in fact.

Here and here.

What was your point again?

I have a question for you WHY did Bush and Cheney almost always give their exclusive interviews to FOX?

“Almost always”??

Almost….Always….he says.

Hmmmmm… well, I have already found and posted two examples of other networks doing interviews with President Bush, so your premise is on rocky ground already.

So, prove the remainder of “almost always” for us.

Give us the data, the raw numbers.

I look forward to seeing your non-response.

One final note. You never did comment on Obama’s record of broken promises that I posted about here and here and here.

AYE:

Just in case you missed it… I asked a QUESTION if BUSH ever gave an interview with MSNBC.

The Bush presidency was not a media blitz presidency, he did not use the Oval Office and all the trappings to promote himself like Clinton did and Obama is doing now, didn’t shove his face out there on a daily basis, didn’t seek the adulation the other two seem to crave. He definately was not over exposed like Obama is rapidly becoming.

Bush treated the press respectfully, unlike what Obama is now doing with FOX and all who watch it, the press did not reciprocrate, btw. It’s a sick little game with Obama, he’s trying to diminish the channel and viewers because he mistakenly thinks they are all right wing. Interesting to see the FOX ratings going up as Obama’s ratings are slipping.

Speaking of facts, it is a fact that FOX news hosts complained that Bush interviews were going to other networks, that he wasn’t out selling the war and his other policies, that he would reach a more diverse audience by coming on FOX. Any other FOX watcher remember that? In comparison to the other two presidents, what few interviews the Bush administration gave were more fairly spread around.

Obama is using MSM to promote himself, he is out on almost a daily basis, still campaigning and they are letting him get away with it. His stance on FOX is childish, no other way to explain it. Even Hillary interviewed with several FOX hosts, Greta, Colmes, O’Reilly but, the manchild chooses to be devisive, remember Obama denouncing “devisive” during his campaign for the presidency? Now he flip flops on that one during his never ending campaign for Obama.
