@ Carol S.

First of all, let’s not forget the hypocracy stems from the “fact” that he said NO to extravagance.
He said, we’d ALL have to make sacrifices.
Second, if culture is so very important, then where’s my trip to London or Paris to take my children to see the great works of art or the historical buildings and museums. Or is culture a shopping trip now. Maybe that’s what’s wrong with her clothes, they’re “cultural”.
I work very hard to respect the freedom our veterans have helped to maintain for us and I for one would like to continue to be free. No socialism, no boloney! I take part in the process by holding local office, educating people on the truth and my husband is a teacher of American government. I call myself conservative because I fit the definition more closely than anything else. That does not mean however that I take marching orders from anyone. My conservative friends behave the same way. People take sides because there are sides to be taken.
I havn’t heard anyone talk about John Q Londoner who had no idea they wouldn’t be able to take that path home from work, or complete their shopping or whatever they had planned to do but were unable to because Michelle and the girls and grandma wanted fish and chips. Reminds me of Clinton holding up things at an airport while he got his hair cut.
God Bless America and God Save Us All!

God help us ALL. Such disgrace they are! WE THE PEOPLE see the light – and this is NOT the United States Of America we are EACH proud of – and we stand tall and AMERICAN’S are who have been ‘taken with him’ are now waking up also!! Some times it is difficult to come to realization when the reallize they have ‘hired the wrong person’ – but THIS FOR CERTAIN is the case for anyone who REALLY has intelligence! Some who are ‘give me-give me’ will never wake up until God forbid it be – that they or their parent needs health care and they don’t qualify because they are ‘too old’ or don’t fit the grove of qualifications!
May we NEVER see that occur! Call your senators / your congressman and the white house and tell them how you feel – and your opinions and how they need to be listening to you as they ‘work for us’!

@DougBurlison: Are you a mind reader. Who said these comments were all written by the opposing part? I know many people whowere Dems, did not vote for this Socialist and many of those who did wish they hadn’t.
While you pose a maybe , what if question I will answer it . Yes I would have been just as angry.no matter who did it. It is totally uncalled for at this time with the country in such dire straits,

So….future stimulus packages for all Americans to travel to London and Paris to enrich our cultrual reach? We should ask for it.

This is the resultant of a racist, liberal regime. Only a Fool would have voted for Obama and there are many so called Americans that are fools.

Last time I looked the First Lady and her daughters weren’t coming to ask for bailout money so I guess the admonition doesn’t apply. She is our President’s wife so of course she was given protection. What would you like her to do? Sit home and knit blankets for the homeless all day. Dress in rags? And never come out of the house? Get over yourselves. Obama is not to blame for this mess we are in and his wife and kids sure aren’t. 8 years of Bush. 2 wars and lack of oversight and plain downright greed on the part of corporate America caused the problem coupled with the spend, spend, spend gotta have it all in every color mentality of the American people. We helped screw our own selves and we let ourselves be brainwashed by the fear factor mentality of the last President and cronies. Quit blaming the Obama’s for this mess.

Cheryl Adkins: Get over yourselves.

You don’t mind my saying so, but it’s dumb asses like yourself that are the reason we are in the mess we are in… picking people like career politicians in Congress (Barney Frank, Pelosi etal)… and then picking idiots like Obama to fix their obvious corruption and stupidity. Fox/hen house?

How about you get a grip and realize that the housing boom started in 1997-98. Ponder that for awhile.

@Cheryl Adkins: Obama IS responsible for the mess we are in. He got everything he asked for in the stimulus bill and warned that unless he got it that unemployment would skyrocket. It skyrocked anyway.

Obama is mis-spending a trillion dollars. You’re right that what Queen Michelle spends to jet around the world at taxpayer expense is insignificant by comparison but it does illustrate perfectly what her attitude and that of her husband is towards the people who are suffering under the economic malaise THEY are creating.

You’re right… everyone who voted for Obama only ended up screwing themselves. Except now we are all f@#*$d.

Well I do’t think Obama was President then. Besides we sold we sold ourselves to China to pay for the Iraq War. I don’t think he was President then either. Of course being a “dumbass” as someone else called me I could have my dates confused.

Well, Mata and Mike. Cheryl Adkins is obviously as confused and clueless as the Obama’s. All are in over their heads and, unfortunately, don’t appear to realize it.

@Cheryl Adkins: Poor Cheryl. You’ve been had by Obama and you don’t even know it. You sipped the “Bush is to blame” Kool Aid and that’s when your brain stopped thinking.

I would remind you again that Obama promised he would FIX all our problems. And what happened?

He promised that if he got his way with the stimulus (and he did) that unemployment would stay below 8 %. Instead it skyrocketed.

From Obama’s own plan in January:

Photobucket

Millions of Americans are now out of work in a depression made even worse by Obama’s inability to manage the economy.

What a shame that the adults like George Bush you blame for all our woes weren’t still in power. I doubt any of this would be happening.

Go have another sip of your Kool Aid Cheryl and let the adults get back to running the country.

Well I am not the one delusional enough to not realize that George and Cronies are the one who left this mess to be fixed to begin with. Perhaps your memory is faulty. But Obama is president not god or a miracle worker. He has no magic wand to wave to make the 8 years of bushanomics go away. It took 8 years to get here so why are you unrealistic enough to think it will go away in a few months?

Well the simple fact is Bush had 8 years and this is how he left us so what do you think? Do you honestly think that Barack Obama is responsible for the mess he inherited when he took office. Maybe you were brainwashed not me. but whoever was going to get into office this year thank god it wasn’t going to be george. and whoever it was was inheriting the mess he left. that is a fact koolaid or no. So say whatever you want about me. I heard it all when I protested the useless and unnecessary Iraq invasion.

@Cheryl Adkins: Eight years of growing prosperity under Bush ended because of the bust Democrats engineered in the Housing and financial markets. But even a delusional moonbat cannot deny that the average unemployment rate under Bush was near an all time record LOW and that the stock market reached new heights.

And now, Obama the wealth destroyer gets everything his own way and all you can do is blame Bush?

You need to open your eyes. And a good place to start would be to drop the dripping hate you have for President Bush. You are alive today in part due to him.

Get over it.

Cheryl: Well I do’t think Obama was President then. Besides we sold we sold ourselves to China to pay for the Iraq War. I don’t think he was President then either. Of course being a “dumbass” as someone else called me I could have my dates confused.

The above is the perfect example of why you fit the “dumb ass” category, Cheryl.

So we sold our soul to China for 4.3% of the total GDP? Brilliant….

But I assure you, our souls are now for sale under the Eunuch in Chief, and his quest for the quintessential welfare state.

And in case you don’t like the Heritage Foundation, we’ll give you another lesson in spending from the liberal WaPo. Hint… see that big, tall line to the right? That’s government spending under President Obama from 2010 to 2020. All those little lines? The various wars, and NASA’s race to the moon.

Reality’s a bitch, eh? Figured out what Congress, Barney Frank, Clinton’s Treasury department have to do with the housing boom yet?

This guy(OBUM) isn’t close to a leader, guess he didn’t know we have planes before coming to DC,just loves to ride and fly, playing god on our tax dollars,He doesn’t care about any U.S. people,he showing us that. Need this guy out of there, clean white house back up,which will take while and close book on this guy.

@MataHarley:

That chart has to be, gulp…..game over for Cheryl.

@Missy: It was game over for Cheryl before she started. Once she ran out of the talking points supplied to her by George Soros and friends she has nothing left to say.

Nothing she said had any spark of a sign of original thinking about it.

Well some of us live in the real world and have real lives so we have something better to do most of the time besides get on the internet to insult people and rewrite history. Besides since you all are still belaboring under the delusion that the Iraqi invasion was over weapons of mass destruction and that we borrowed billions from China to fund this invasion to look for them, what can I say to disillusion you? The fact is George was minding the store for 8 years. If you saw prosperity good for you but those of us living in the real world didn’t. Our jobs were outsourced, our ability to go to college was curtailed by financial aid cuts, and our husbands, wives, sons and daughters marched off to a useless invasion. And at the end of his time we were left with no retirement funds, gas so outrageous we could barely go to work, the housing market in a shambles, the automakers and banks on the verge of ruin. Well when you are the big cheese the s*** falls on you. He dropped the ball. He lied, cheated, and stole his way into office to begin with and he lied repeatedly to the American people. And yet he was allowed to stay. Worse than that a whole bunch of idiots voted him in for a second term. What more is there to say. Barack Obama or just about anyone except Sarah Palin couldn’t do much worse than that. But when you are dealing with a bunch of racist, elitist delusional brainwashed group you can’t expect much more than for them to complain. No matter what he and his family do, even if it’s right, even if it accomplishes the goal you people will still moan and groan.

@Cheryl Adkins:

Besides since you all are still belaboring under the delusion that the Iraqi invasion was over weapons of mass destruction and the we borrowed billions from China to fund this invasion to look for them what can I say to dissillusion you.

Ummm, Cheryl, you have no idea what that sentence means do you?

Heh.

Seems that your command of the English language is no stronger than your ability to analyze historical fact.

Then, you go on, for sheer entertainment value, to string together every Lefitst talking point squeezed out since 2000 into the remainder of your post.

Truly a stunning example of concentrated crazy.

Thanks for being someone we can point and laugh at.

Thank you for insulting my typing now. My command of the English language is just fine. Guess you couldn’t argue with what I had to say so you decided to redirect the conversation. Typical with people of your mindset.

Besides leftist or no, truth is still truth. It doesn’t change just because you find it inconvenient or choose not to believe it.

By the way I am getting ready to get on with my real life now so if I don’t respond don’t think it’s because you have gotten the better of me.

Cheryl , it’s hard to believe we were both living in the same country! The way I remember it, as well as the objective facts, is this:

1. Bush inherited Clinton’s recession (FACT)

2. Despite a 911 attack, the stock market and economy under Bush soared to all time records for 6 years straight. Regardless of the fact that homes rose to overinflated values (with many thanks to “Fanny and Freddie”), I bought a house when Bush took office and sold right before he left office with an enormous “profit” for doing nothing more than buying at the “right time.” I’m quite sure never again in my life time will I have the opportunity to makes such easy and tax free money.

3. You must have been the only one living in hardship while the rest of the county saw HUGH gains in their 401K’s and home values. The unemployment was lower than the Clinton years.

4. The only reason it ended after 6 years is because the dems took over congress. That was the genesis of all bad things that followed up and until our current train wreck.

You make accusations of racism without a shred of evidence. For all that anyone might want to accuse Bush of; no reasonable person could ever make a realistic accusation of racism. That however, can’t be said for your party who so far has wiped out half of the American Negro population by genocide (abortion). LOOK IT UP! Do you think it’s just a “coincidence” that most Planned Parent clinics are in black neighborhoods?

I would also be interested in knowing what job/skill sets you lost to outsourcing that were so unique you are unable to recover. Why don’t you give us some examples Cheryl?

In the meantime, I suggest you “buckle up”, because if you thought the world sucked under Bush, hang on the for cliff Obama is about to throw you over. Hopefully you will get over you “victimhood” and realize that who you really hate is more than likely yourself and your own self-loathing party.

Lastly Cheryl, know this: Obama is NOT going to save you! Only you can do that.

@Cheryl Adkins:

We all have real lives so knock off the condescending attitude, many before you have pulled that nonsense and it doesn’t cut it here.

You aren’t here to debate, you are here to spread the same old talking points we’ve all heard regurgitated many times, the fine hosts of Flopping Aces are tired of having to correct the ill informed every two or three days, you would be in the ill informed category.

Spend some time in the archives, look at the amount of work and research these people have done, take the initiative to inform yourself of the facts, not spin or talking points. Read the topics, hopefully you will recover from your embarassment.

Guess you weren’t invested in the stock market last year. I am not expecting Obama to save me. But I guess if all the crap thats gone on in the last few years hasn’t hurt you then he can’t “hurt” you either. Besides I don’t need saving. I have no 401 K or retirement to worry about so I really lost very little. But I know people who lost a great deal. My husband came out of the military 10 years ago so no problem there either. But others have lost loved ones. Maybe if you would take your head out of the sand long enough to take a look around at the rest of the world who aren’t you or who aren’t as fortunate or smart or gifted as you you might learn a great deal. We all don’t live in nice houses with wonderful paying jobs. Some of us are homeless. Some of don’t have jobs. Some of us live on minumum wage and are single parents.
None of that got any better under the last regime. So excuse me if I do not think that George Bush was the greatest President ever. I never said that I thought Obama was either. But at least he’s not Bush. My point is that you people refuse to even give him a chance. Because he wasn’t who you wanted you automatically condemn and criticise every move he makes before you even know if it will work. It wasn’t how you would have done it so it must be wrong. I, at least, gave George a chance after he stole the election. But he ruined when he invaded Iraq and used fear mongering and lies to do it.

@Cheryl Adkins: said EARLIER

WTF? Cheryl wanders in here, whines about selling our souls to China for 4.3% of the entire GDP for an eight year war that hadn’t even gone on for six full years when Bush left office. Bet she hasn’t got an idea of how many years the Iraqis have had a permanent government in place, either.

And of course, never once does she address that’s not even a thimble full of what Obama has spent in six months. In fact, from the looks of it, you can add up every war in that graphic and it still pales to Obama’s spending… even via WaPo standards.

Cat got your tongue on that stuff? Or are facts foreign to your somewhat limited vocabulary, Cheryl?

And according to the story she wove, I have to wonder just what was her supposed ex military husband doing when she was theoretically protesting in the streets about Iraq when his buddies and friends may still be there? Granted… the real or imagined “he/hubby” served to preserve that she had that exact right. But I guess I’m cut from a different cloth. As a Vietnam wife, I never once dreamed of taking any negative feelings to the street – harpooning my friends, who were still on the battlefield, in the back.

Different values, I guess.

In response to hard facts, she throws out the predictable “touchy feelly” talking points crap about being an ex military wife, and slings what victim “poor me” mud she can think of. Whining about how bad *we* are on history and can’t refute truth… suggests we all live in mansions and that she and others have a monopoly on hard times and poverty. (Oh, but she hasn’t lost any money in this recession/depression). She then stomps her foot about being abused and a victim… makes a drama queen finale exit… only to show up a little over an hour later.

damn… small favors are not coming our way, I guess.

Clue to the clueless…. I sincerely doubt anyone on this forum has a trust fund to live off of. In fact, I’m quite sure that all of us work for a living…. save Real American Patriot, or CRAP as we call him. He lives off the taxpayer on government extended unemployment because he thinks it was created to be there so he doesn’t have to take a lesser paying job. He’ll just wait for that “packaging” industry to return from overseas before he starts working again. Must remind him not to get a job as a Montana miner….

All I can say is… is this the cream of the Obama cyber hit squad crop??? OMG…. more fish in a barrel to shot. And dang… do they need a new script or what?

Kudos to you all who gave her an exhale of time and valuable oxygen. Personally all I can say is ta ta, au revoir, and vamoose, Cheryl. This is a new low in discourse I personally can’t find any interest in engaging. And frankly, there’s too many “catch all” phrases that strike me as she “doth protest too much” take as genuine. She’s offers a sob story and accusations as “personal defense” in lieu of debate with facts. Not worth the time….

@Cheryl Adkins:

Thank you for insulting my typing now. My command of the English language is just fine.

Actually, no, I wasn’t insulting your typing. It’s your miniscule intelligence, and your resulting failure to be able to wield the English language in an effective, cogent manner that has drawn a target on your chest.

Guess you couldn’t argue with what I had to say so you decided to redirect the conversation.

Actually, I can refute every single talking point that you chose to bescumber this thread with.

I had some things to take care of that were more worthy of my time than you Cheryl. That’s why I had to wait until later to dissemble you. I see that you have been back here several more times scattering your droppings about since I was last here.

Typical with people of your mindset.

Nice stereotyping.

What “mindset” is that precisely? What do you know about me or my “mindset” oh, Wise One?

Besides leftist or no, truth is still truth. It doesn’t change just because you find it inconvenient or choose not to believe it.

You’re right. The truth is the truth is the truth. No matter how much you may wish to deny it.

********

Now, let’s get to the good part shall we?

For those keeping score at home, we are now going to look at Cheryl’s post #70 which is, without a doubt, today’s Glittering Jewel of Colossal Ignorance. (Sorry Cheryl, there is no prize for you….the rest of us get laughter.) Heh.

Here’s what dear Cheryl gave us:

Well some of us live in the real world and have real lives so we have something better to do most of the time besides get on the internet to insult people and rewrite history.

All of us have lives away from the Internet Cheryl. Not just you, so lose the high’n’mighty tude and you just might learn something.

As to insults and history revision, two words.

Pot. Kettle.

Besides since you all are still belaboring under the delusion that the Iraqi invasion was over weapons of mass destruction and that we borrowed billions from China to fund this invasion to look for them, what can I say to disillusion you?

There’s that problematic sentence again Cheryl. Obviously, as I said earlier, you wrote it and you don’t even know what it means.

I find that hysterical.

I will give you a hint….it doesn’t mean what you think it means.

The fact is George was minding the store for 8 years. If you saw prosperity good for you but those of us living in the real world didn’t. Our jobs were outsourced

Talk to me about how the stock market did over those eight years Cheryl.

Tell me about unemployment levels. Talk to me about what jobs were outsourced. That’s such a convenient talking point to fall back on. Where are your facts and figures on that?

Of course you probably don’t want to admit that unemployment was lower under Bush than it was under Clinton. Nor do you likely want to admit that unemployment under Obama is now higher than it has been in a quarter century.

Talk about a set of inconvenient facts!

…our ability to go to college was curtailed by financial aid cuts…

Really?

Where are your facts and figures to support that argument?

As a bonus question, can you show me in the US Constitution where it is the taxpayer’s responsibility to give anyone money to go to college?

…our husbands, wives, sons and daughters marched off to a useless invasion.

Yes, we went to war under George Bush. Two very justifiable, much needed military engagements. I guess your perspective is different because you just don’t give a damn whether more of your fellow citizens died from our continued inaction.

I wonder Cheryl, would you have opposed our military action against Germany?

And at the end of his time we were left with no retirement funds

The only reason you would have been left with no retirement funds is if you had not been paying attention and wisely managing your investments.

If you were paying attention, as I was, you would have moved your money into safer arenas.

…gas so outrageous we could barely go to work…

Gas prices go up and down according to supply and demand. The president has virtually no bearing on those prices. Congress, on the other hand, plays a great role. That body, after all, controls taxation, regulatory policy, energy policy, and of course, they can opt to relax or restrict off-shore drilling.

It’s interesting that in the days leading up to the last election Congress was in a scurry to open up the off shore areas of our coastlines….then suddenly, once the election was over, they quickly put those restrictions right back in place.

Why is that Cheryl?

Another bonus question for you: Just prior to the 2006 election in which the Dims took control of Congress, Nancy Pelosi promised that she had a plan to reduce gas prices….Where is that plan, Cheryl?

It’s been two and a half years plus, it seems that she should have released it by now.

the housing market in a shambles

The housing market issues began when Cheryl? Can you tell me?

Ever hear of the CRA? Can you tell me who was president when it passed and what effect it had?

Cheryl, can you name one of the attorneys who sued CitiBank, forcing them to give more loans to unqualified borrowers?

…the automakers and banks on the verge of ruin.

The auto industry is, without question, a difficult one.

I can tell you that government interference, regulation, and taxation play a pivotal role in what is going on in the that industry now.

In addition to the government, the car companies face legacy costs and union restrictions that foreign automakers do not.

Furthermore, cumbersome environmental policies force car companies to make cars that consumers don’t want.

Combine all of those issues together and you have what we are seeing now.

Well when you are the big cheese the s*** falls on you.

Yes, it’s always easy to cast the blame on the guy living in the White House isn’t it?

Reality, fact, and history don’t prove out those easy conclusions.

He lied, cheated, and stole his way into office to begin with

Another of my favorite Lefty talking points.

Can you tell me Cheryl, how many media organizations recounted the ballots from the election in Florida?

How many of those media organizations came up with a different result?

…and he lied repeatedly to the American people.

Well, isn’t that precious….Cheryl is one of the “Bush lied” crowd.

What, precisely, did he lie about Cheryl?

Be careful now, before you wade out too deep into that alligator infested swamp. This board is chock full of a plethora of knowledgeable authors and commenters on this subject.

The archives are also full of massive volumes of research.

Do please, tell us though, what did Bush “lie” about?

Worse than that a whole bunch of idiots voted him in for a second term.

I am proud to say that I cast my vote for George Bush, not once, but twice.

Bush was better on his worst day than Gore and Kerry combined.

Barack Obama or just about anyone except Sarah Palin couldn’t do much worse than that.

Oh, isn’t that cute? She got her obligatory bash Palin comment in there.

Another bonus question Cheryl: If Palin is so inadequate, so dumb, so incapable….then why does the Left fear her so?

But when you are dealing with a bunch of racist, elitist delusional brainwashed group you can’t expect much more than for them to complain.

Who are you calling racist, elitist, delusional, and brainwashed?

With the exception of the racist part, you’ve earned all of those labels here.

Projection much?

No matter what he and his family do, even if it’s right, even if it accomplishes the goal you people will still moan and groan.

Actually, no.

If Obie makes a decent decision we give him credit where that credit is due.

So far those occasions have been very limited.

@ Cheryl Adkins I’m glad to see Aye Chihuahua mentioned congress. Cheryl, do you know anything about government or are you as others are saying here, just a liberal hack that goes around spewing the same rhetoric over and over. Here’s a little lesson. Our system of government has a system of checks and balances. The Legislative branch can check the President if there is a problem and the veto power he has can keep them from going too far as well. The Judicial branch is there to keep the laws that the Legislators pass within the boundaries of the constitution and protect the people from tyranny. So if you are so disgruntled with the Bush years, my dear, there should be plenty of blame to go around.

Kudos to your husband for serving in the military. My grandfather served at the Battle of the Bulge, was one of the lucky ones to make it home. My husband’s grandfather wasn’t so lucky on Iwo Jima. My father volunteered his service in Viet Nam as well as several of my most respected friends. These people made it possible for you to be a liberal. There are few places in the world, especially the middle east, where a woman can speak her mind as you have. Thanks in part to our work in Iraq the people there have the chance to become a free or at least freeer society. Things take time and blood is unfortunately shed. Look at the history of this country if you want to see some astounding casualty numbers. My brother-in law just volunteered to go in a third time to help the cause over there. Over there should be emphasized. I’d much rather have this war over there than here where the terrorists would like to have kept it.

As far as Obama goes, I live in Illinois and I can tell you that he was not shining star here. He made very little impact here in his home district. He also has had his hands in plenty of crooked looking deals over the years. The media tells you what they want you to know not necessarily the whole truth. I’d love to give the guy a chance. He’s in! Here’s his chance. What has he chosen to do with it? Going around the worlds apologizing for America is not a good place to start with me. Siding with the likes of Hugo Chavez and Castro over this Honduras deal has also left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Presidents have to make hard decisions for the country as a whole with little to no regard to who’s saying what about him personally. The fringe groups should not rule the majority either.

I challenge you Cheryl and any other liberal perusing this blog to take an OBJECTIVE look as this president and this Congress. It’s not about the party winning, it should be about the country winning for all of us. If they are so great, then show us, do something that makes us all sit up and listen!

In regards to Michelle and the kids flying around the world with expenses paid by the US taxpayer – I think it’s a bit hypocritical of Obama to do this when he expects other leaders (in industry) to tighthen their belts and SET AN EXAMPLE.
