3393 have died

They died fighting a dictator who [I admit it] considered himself at war with the US, but had never actually attacked the United States. Of course, when that dictator sits on 40% of the world’s oil…then aristocratic families in the White House are bound to come up with any reason to go to war; as long as it gets them their blood money!

3393 Americans will never become doctors and save lives, will never run businesses and feed families that build a nation. They’ll never teach subsequent generations, create and share unique art, and they’ll never add to American literature or culture again.

They died under a false pretense that they were fighting to free others and open the door to Democracy for those ‘oppressed’-I mean really, you canNOT force someone to vote, and if they really wanted Democracy they could have risen up and fought for it like Americans did in the Revolution.

3393 Americans are dead because our President needed a war to pull this nation out of the economic toilet!

They fought for each other, they hoped to survive, and everything else…the mom, apple pie, and politics of Saturday night is just BS!

3393 Americans are dead because this nation was attacked by suicidal wackos who got the nation’s blood pressure up, and happened to have a ‘relationship’ with another ‘Axis of Evil’ power. COME ON! A relationship? There’s NO evidence at all of a “COOPERATIONAL RELATIONSHIP” BETWEEN THE TWO!!

We now know from British documents that intelligence before the war was being focused and manipulated to make the case for war almost a year before it started.

3393 Americans are dead! They died on June 6th 1944 Invading France to impose democracy on a people who should have risen up for it themselves, to fight a dictator who never attacked the US but considered himself at war with the US, and who had no operational ties to Japan-the nation that DID attack the US.

Scott –

Wow! Just wow!

I have made the same analogy in the past … But seeing it actually in “text” is incredable.

Too damn bad the left and the MSM dolts can’t understand the direct parallel. That “open-mindedness” they want everyone else to have seems to evade them.

Wow …

Pvt. Daniel Jackson’s “Sniper’s Prayer” From The Movie “Saving Private Ryan”:

Be not that far from me, for trouble is near;

haste Thee to help me.

Blessed be the Lord my strength,

which teacheth my hands to war,

and my fingers to fight.

My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower,

and my Deliverer; my shield,

and He in whom I trust;

who subdueth my people under me.

Oh my God, I trust in thee:

let me not be ashamed,

let not mine enemies triumph over me…..

Just to give proper credit to the real Author …

But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me. (Psalm 22:19)
Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight (Psalm 144:1)
My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. (Psalm 144:2)
O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. (Psalm 25:2)

Fortunately, He doesn’t seem to get too worked up over plagiarism, although we are encouraged to give Him the glory.

Understood … Was using a more poem-like version I’d found. Yours explains the ‘character’s’ internal mission more clearly.

Truly a great exposition, scott. I am rarely impressed (not that I’m not easy to please), but hardly impressed with a lot of writing I find online. This was a very impressive writeup, and well thought out.

What amazes me is that I wrote this years ago, post it annually, and while it’s a verbalization of so many people’s thoughts…..many others still don’t get it.

No, that’s not true. I believe they get it, but can’t accept it, and until they ask themselves why they can’t accept it…they will forever be both filled with hate and lost to reality.

Reminds me of this:

HOW THE D-DAY INVASION WOULD BE REPORTED BY TODAY’S PRESS
NORMANDY, FRANCE
(June 6, 1944) Three hundred French civilians were killed and thousands more were wounded today in the first hours of America’s invasion of continental Europe. Casualties were heaviest among women and children. Most of the French casualties were the result of artillery fire from American ships attempting to knock out German fortifications prior to the landing of hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops. Reports from a makeshift hospital in the French town of St. Mere Eglise said the carnage was far worse than the French had anticipated, and that reaction against the American invasion was running high. “We are dying for no reason, “said a Frenchman speaking on condition of anonymity. “Americans can’t even shoot straight. I never thought I’d say this, but life was better under Adolph Hitler.”

The invasion also caused severe environmental damage. American troops, tanks, trucks and machinery destroyed miles of pristine shoreline and thousands of acres of ecologically sensitive wetlands. It was believed that the habitat of the spineless French crab was completely wiped out, thus threatening the species with extinction. A representative of Greenpeace said his organization, which had tried to stall the invasion for over a year, was appalled at the destruction, but not surprised. “This is just another example of how the military destroys the environment without a second thought,” said Christine Moanmore. “And it’s all about corporate greed.”

Contacted at his Manhattan condo, a member of the French government-in-exile who abandoned Paris when Hitler invaded, said the invasion was based solely on American financial interests. “Everyone knows that President Roosevelt has ties to ‘big beer’,” said Pierre LeWimp. “Once the German beer industry is conquered, Roosevelt’s beer cronies will control the world market and make a fortune.”

Administration supporters said America’s aggressive actions were based in part on the assertions of controversial scientist Albert Einstein, who sent a letter to Roosevelt speculating that the Germans were developing a secret weapon — a so-called “atomic bomb”. Such a weapon could produce casualties on a scale never seen before, and cause environmental damage that could last for thousands of years. Hitler has denied having such a weapon and international inspectors were unable to locate such weapons even after spending two long weekends in Germany. Shortly after the invasion began, reports surfaced that German prisoners had been abused by American soldiers. Mistreatment of Jews by Germans at their so-called “concentration camps” has been rumored, but so far this remains unproven.

Several thousand Americans died during the first hours of the invasion, and French officials are concerned that the uncollected corpses will pose a public-health risk. “The Americans should have planned for this in advance,” they said. “It’s their mess, and we don’t intend to help clean it up.”

Unbelievable! You buy into this old conspiracy theory, it was Roosevelt’s War for Oil. The truth is we came within a hair’s breadth of losing that war! Why did we attack Germany? We understood from WWI that we couldn’t let Germany control all of Europe. Churchill knew that and Roosevelt knew that too. They made a devil’s bargain with Stalin to keep that from happening.
We should have been in the fight more then a year earlier but many in America stupidly though the Oceans would protect us and it wasn’t our fight.
Had Britain fallen where would we have launched the attack to reclaim Europe from? Hitler in control of all of Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and India and eventually South America and Japan completing the conquest of Asia, which they very nearly did anyway, where would we have been? Surrounded and forced into vassal status at best.
If Japan hadn’t awoken “the sleeping giant” I doubt we’d be doing this today and certainly not in English.
Look at the state of our armed forces in December 1941, given what had already occurred in Europe and Asia we were in a criminal state. I’m the son, son-in-law and nephew of WWII veterans and not to minimize their valor but it was our farms, factories, ship yards and industrial genius that defeated Germany and Japan.
The world is too vast and there were too many competing interests struggling for control to simplify our involvement in WWII to the “aristocratic families in the White House and …. blood money”. The world is much more complex then that. Makes more sense to source the blame WWI on forces set in motion by The Treaty of Vienna in 1815 and WWII on the Treaty of Versailles which was more of the same.

No JT, he doesn’t buy into that theory. He’s making light of the fact there were idiots then just like now who would rather surrender to evil than fight it.

Pros and cons to our invading Iraq – not as clear cut as you make it seem.

But for sure losing 4,000 is a tragedy plus the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives lost through our or others actions.

However, the current occupants of Iraq seem pretty OK to be free, for now.

Guess a race between iraq and iran for nuke bombs would be going on right now – hard to quantify that risk to world peace. At least Obama would have another country to apologize to if saddam was still around.

We go on.. we still have enemies that wish us the worst of futures and are actively working to implement their dreams or compulsions, some directed with a medieval belief system that gives them no choice no matter what speeches they hear, outside the mosque.

THE LEFT WAS AGAINST IT THEN, TOO.

Interestingly Churchill was very lukewarm about D-Day – he was more keen to attack and concentrate on Southern Europe – the so called soft underbelly. Of course Stalin was desperate for a 2nd front – whereas he felt Roosevelt and Churchill kep t putting this off, breaking promises etc because they wanted Germans & Russians to kill each other. But Stalin had no real reason to complain when it was Russia who did the dirty deal with an earlier pact with Germany and helped carved up Poland. And the Russians only came in much later against Japan. If D-Day had happened a year earlier would the West have saved eastern Europe from decades of communism?
