How the “news” media would report the same facts of the Obama Administration if it was the Palin Administration.

The always brilliant Victor Davis Hanson scored again with his May 15th column at National Review online: President Palin’s First 100 Days. Here’s a teaser:

LET THEM EAT MOOSE“Ted Stevens may have gotten off,” wrote Bob Herbert in the New York Times, “but he taught our Sarah something first — like using $100-a-pound beef for her state dinners. And what’s this $50 mil for her inauguration gala? Since when do you fly in your favorite pizza-maker from across the country on our dime? Or send the presidential 747 for a spin over the Big Apple for a third-of-a-million-dollar joyride? Does Palin think she’s still in Alaska and has to have everything flown in from the South 48 by jumbo jet?”

WASILLA CHIC Also in the Times, Gail Collins weighed in on the already-tired yokelism of the new commander in chief. “What we’re getting is Wasilla chic. That’s what we’re getting. She arrives in the Oval Office, and first thing sends back Blair’s gift of the Churchill bust as if it’s a once-worn Penney’s outfit. Then she gives the Brits some unwatchable DVDs as a booby prize — as if she idled the old Yukon and ran into Target’s sale aisle. Did Sarah send Bristol into Wal-Mart back in Anchorage for that ‘engraved’ iPod for the queen? And what’s this don’t-bow-to-the-queen stuff, but curtsy for a Saudi sheik? Maybe that explains why she brags to Stephanopoulos about her ‘Muslim faith.’ So far, the best things going for her are Todd’s biceps.”

You’ll want to read it all here.

If I didn’t know better, I’d say this is a sarcastic article about our current president’s faux paux’s.

if palin had made a 1/3 of the mistakes that obama or biden have she would have been burned at the stake. there would be calls for her to be impeached and out of town by sundown. funny how when it is the jug eared golden boy all reason flies out the window.

Interestingly and tellingly that this spoof is Sarah Palin’s first 100 days rather than McCain’s first 100 days. Is that because poor Sarah got so unfairly drubbed by the media or maybe it’s wishful thinking by all those cons who wanted the ticket they supported switched around?

SARAH PALIN WOULD OF DONE A LOT BETTER JOB THAN OBAMA. HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY AS WE KNEW IT. SARAH WOULD OF MADE IT EVEN BETTER. WE CAN ONLY HOPE AND PRAY SHE CAN GET ELECTED IN 2012.

I wonder if the late night comedians would consider President Palin too cool to mock??

Yes, Gaffa, President Palin would have been the better choice in this past election. Looking forward to 2010 and 2012.

@GaffaUK:

Is that because poor Sarah got so unfairly drubbed by the media…

In one word, yes.

Gaffa, you also could purchase the DVD ‘Media Malpractice’ by John Ziegler and see for yourself!

@SoCal Chris: Gaffa swallowed every rumor and smear transmitted by the “news” media and believe them to be facts. To this day he continues to repeat some of this bilge.

I doubt he’ll buy the DVD (though he probably does have a subscription to Mother Jones Magazine) so I’ll post the trailer to the film you suggested:

I also like the other film Ziegler did which explains how media bias leaves Dem voters the equivalent of brain dead zombies:

It would be funny to laugh at the zombie dems who still think Republicans run congress if it weren’t such a sad commentary on the state of media in this country and the poor job they do in fulfilling their important role in informing the voters.

Idiots never even heard of Pelosi or Reid yet knew every smear against Sarah Palin.

Thanks, Mike, for the videos!

Yes, it would be funny if it weren’t so darned dispicable. Maybe we will be able to laugh someday, but for now, it’s hard work doing the media’s job for them. Lord have mercy!

Although the media loves to spoof our wonderful governor — she never did say, she could see Russia from her window. That was Saturday Night Live. Though — Alaska being the largest state in the union and having more coast line then any other state — you can see Russia from Alaska. No – not from Anchorage or Juneau. Geography wise… on the Bering Strait (sea) you have Big Diomede Island in Russia and Little Diomede Island in Alaska and they are less than 3 miles apart. The media should study at some point. Regardless, Alaska is the closest state of the 50 to Russia (her point, I believe), closer than any other state. At one time, Russia’s proximity to Alaska was a military concern. Times have changed.

Alaska is filled with a diverse land and people. The governor has done well. If she had been allowed to be Sarah Palin while John McCain’s running mate, they would have had a chance. She is very capable. Instead, the governor had interviews with “so called journalist” editting and chopping up her remarks… .

Yes, the first 100 days spoof should be of John McCain — not Sarah Palin. After all, she was running for VP. So… what is the media really saying… Sarah Palin was the real candidate, not John McCain. Or the real person they’re afraid of.

@C from Alaska:
Thank you, C from Alaska, for your thoughtful remarks. I appreciate someone from Alaska saying that, yes, you CAN see Russia from Alaska from specific vantage points. I guess we can’t count on the media studying this for themselves. They really just make themselves look ignorant when they try to inject words into Governor Palin’s mouth that she never said, nor ever would. Thanks again. I need to get up there some day soon and enjoy all the beauty Alaska has to offer.
